Oppenheimer ||I find it more interesting. There was just a lot of truisms throughout this entire movie and it made it difficult to watch. Like, I get it, but instead of the endless platitudes or qualms about the guy's life, show me the bomb and its effects on the people. I don't really sympathize with the guy, especially with how he acts for a good chunk of the movie. Cheater, big ego, putting other people down, etc.||

Oppenheimer ||I like the ending scene and I get the whole Strauss thing for that part but I could not give two fucks about any of the hearings or testimonies.||

Oppenheimer || Yeah but the portrayal of the regret and understanding the depth of what his actions caused even tho he wasn't the one who pulled the trigger (Truman did and Oppenheimer was shown to be against that), and led to international laws and procedures in place to prevent anything from happening adds more to the guy ||

Oppenheimer || Other than catching some historical references like Feynmann and Teller, personally the development of bomb wasnt impactful until the Explosion test occurred ||

Oppenheimer ||I did like those scenes between the scientists, I wanted more of that. Not too crazy about Truman's portrayal but then again, iirc, that did happen. Idk about that accent lol. I think I would've appreciated more focus on that though. The development of the bomb, showing its usage, and then Oppie fighting back after understanding the consequences of it. It was hard for me to take a good amount of the early parts seriously with the love life and communist/secrecy thing going on, plus, on top of that, he didn't exactly push back against doing everything anyways (at least to the extent in which it mattered). Which I understand is the point, but that's why I wanted more touching up on the bomb's usage and showing victims, maybe his disdain for it. I felt like there was a good hour or so that could've been cut out entirely.||

Oppenheimer ||I remember Truman talking about not liking the guy and it isn't wrong (how the movie puts it) but Truman took responsibility for actually dropping it and getting irritated that Oppie felt guilty afterwards despite not necessarily being directly responsible for it. Salem's Lot - Completed, 6/10 ||I don't think the story is bad, but it's not one I need to read again anytime soon. King did a great job with his prose in this book and an even better job of really getting you invested in this town with how he makes it the main character of the story. However, I do think he puts a few too many characters in such a short time frame to keep up with (with lackluster dives into their lives)), and the main cast themselves are only mildly memorable outside maybe Ben and Susan (RIP). There's also little to no surprises, the book is pretty easy to figure out from beginning to end with the only "Oh!" moment being that vampires were involved - I knew something was stirring, just not blood suckers. Despite being horror, nothing scared me (though perhaps it did to people when it first came out?). And I do respect the nod he gives to Bram Stoker's Dracula which he took clear inspiration from down to the death of Barlow (who I did like when he got time to speak). One major positive I will mention is that King was able to describe vampires and their history - coupled with their effect on the town by the end - very, very well. I applaud him for that. Nothing else to say really, back to Jay Kristoff I guess. P.S. But I have two short stories at the end of the book to finish first; wasn't going to until I read up about what the prequel one was about.||

Kaladin landed behind him, though he retained most of a Lashing upward, keeping
himself light. He ran up the side of the plateau, heading almost directly upward toward
the sky, dodging to the side as Szeth suddenly twisted and cut through a rock formation,
sending boulders tumbling downward.

Ngl I don't understand this section of the fight at all. why is Szeth on the surface of the plateau while Kaladin is running up the side. Lashings make understanding fights so difficult

As an avid Witcher fan the first season did a lot wrong.

Idk what in gods name they were doing. Also, Henry Cavill, while a cool nerd proponent who wanted to do right by Geralt, only knew the games, so a lot of important information and characterization was cut

Also, like many a fan, I think Henry was too pretty to be Geralt
