Shin Ultraman ||the gap between the "what if a superhero was in modern day society and had his secret identity discovered by the government in minutes, and now has to deal with the japanese bureaucracy," to "Ultraman is learning to be human and thinks humanity is worth fighting for" subplots doesn't really get resolved for me. A lot of scenes arent really earned, they're just accepted as a straight adaption of scenes from the show

I came out of it not really caring whatsoever about any of the characters it's just a framework for a package film recreating some of his coolest fights in HD. Which is fine, and I do like the movie taking an episodic approach instead of having a singular villain and scenario. Superheroes work best when they're given a lot of their mythos to work with and I'm tired of seeing origin story films only covering like, one villain and evil plot for 2 hours in a genre fueled by 20 minutes episodes and 20 page floppies||

Secondly, so far, this book is my least favorite of the three I think for two reasons: lots of build up without a focused antagonist outside the nebulous Ruin and Deepness/Mist, and we're still after a couple hundred pages focused on the main goal of finding that last cache. I assume from there is when things kick into high gear. I actually like Spook's chapters the most and TenSoon's chapters the least (in fact, I can do without them honestly). I don't hate the book, it's quite good, just my least favorite of this trilogy so far. At least there are neat revelations being explained in the beginning of chapters.||

I got a ton on my phone, I learned my lesson about using Spotify as a replacement for actual digital purchases

When I flew to Japan and they broke their offline toggle so it was still trying to do a connection check to listen to anything and I was stuck with 2 songs for the entire flight
