Mcu spiderman ||the movie frames it like sending them all back is dooming them to die. Which for some of them that isn't the case or they die because of their own damn selves. There are multiple points where sandman specifically is just encouraging electro to go along with it so that he can return home. He knows he himself is not in danger, but the spell sends everyone back together. So sending sandman back, also sends the rest back. While lizard and sandman are there, peter is trying to help them since they have to wait anyway. I think this particular complaint is actually just unfounded. Your other ones are more reasonable for reasons I post in the next paragraph||

this is definitely one of those MCU ||"idc if it makes sense and is justified by the context of the characters/scenario, I can't get past the hindsight bias" situation. Which is fair. When a character makes mistakes due to either ignorance, gullibility, or optimism, different people have varying degrees of tolerance to that stuff depending on the execution. That said, everything you have complained about was something the script writers thought of, and they included a justification in the story for everything you've complained about||

He sees an opportunity to potentially corrupt a different spiderman, something he couldn't do with Toby, as well. ||

Farenheit 451 ||Something about this book has stuck into my brain, the parlor. It’s not a crucial part of the plot, but it is a sickening thought that’s been eating at me as of late. A wall made of TVs, only three of the walls taken up. And from it emits noise, anything, slush, something to take up space, drown out the silence. Mildred in this book, is someone who feels more and more real. Someone who can’t help but completely engulf themselves in the content on the screens. Thinking is difficult, and it’s easier and more fun to sit and consume. I don’t mean for this to be a redundant ‘phone bad’ memo, but this part of the book has gnawed at me. It’s felt more and more that I myself have been programmed to open apps, Instagram, YouTube, and mindlessly consume. Try not to think too hard and just enjoy the silly videos, and the worst part is I fall victim to it. Something as dystopian as 3 walls of straight, constant noise is scary, but it’s even scarier when I realize it is worse than that. It is on me at all points of the day now, it is not confined to one room, it is there when I work, when I go to bed, when I’m on the toilet, my very own parlor. I’ve felt something in my own head change, and I don’t know if it’s because of this mindless scroll, but I will get hazy memories. Nothing is able to be identified in these memories, it’s just mush. One foggy idea drifting into another and I can never really pinpoint what it is I’m even thinking of, what I’m trying to grasp at, everything blends together. It’s just a cloud of noise. It’s been happening these past couple days and I can’t help but to think back to Mildred and that parlor, those walls, “Literally not just one, wall but, so far, three! And expensive, too! And the uncles, the aunts, the cousins, the nieces, the nephews, that lived in those walls, the gibbering pack of tree-apes that said nothing, nothing, nothing and said it loud, loud, loud.”||

Farenheit 451|| Nothing, and as loud as possible, a completely empty woman, one who can not remember when she met her own husband. I do not want to be Mildred, and that’s the hard part. I open my phone, and I go to reels, I go to check what video I can watch instead of getting something done. Not once for an hour or so. Every day, every chance I get, my parlor, always on me. Willing to play that loud nothingness to fill up an empty man. I’ve wanted to just chuck my phone across the room, yet I sit down and open it up anyways. She is no one. I don’t know what all of this is supposed to amount to. I think it’s just a general disillusionment with the world around me. Boohoo, oh well, but I want don’t want to be Mildred. I can’t help but think to this section of the book “And he thought of her lying on the bed with the two technicians standing straight over her, not bent with concern, but only standing straight, arms folded. And he remembered thinking then that if she died, he was certain he wouldn't cry. For it would be the dying of an unknown, a street face, a newspaper image, and it was suddenly so very wrong that he had begun to cry, not at death but at the thought of not crying at death, a silly empty man near a silly empty woman, while the hungry snake made her still more empty.” 10 years. Gone. Just like that, it was never there. They don’t know each other. I don’t even really know what I’m getting at, this idea in this story just hit me on such a particular level. I hope to one day be able to express fully what I think about it. I haven’t even mentioned the interactions between Clarisse and Guy. I want to keep writing, I want to keep putting down my thoughts and to be able to do so effectively. I don’t want the haze, I don’t want my own parlor. I want the silence, to be able to think. I’m not sure. But yeah, I just wanted to write something about this book. ||

And then you have beatty who understands what he's burning has significance. But he supports the status quo, by burning it all and just burning his guilt via his work. You saw him quoting Shakespeare and other things. He clearly loves the stuff and understands why others should enjoy it. But he likes the status quo and supports it fully. I loved how much of a contradiction he was. And the fact guy is so conflicted the entire book till he goes ballistic.||

I finally watched Guardians of the Galaxy 3 || I think its good, and I think Gunn did with these characters the best he could, but I'm also still upset about him needing to do that in general as a result of Infinity War killing Gamora. I didn't think her death in Infinity War was a good end to the character, but with her coming back, Gunn also chose the right thing to do with Gamora by not making her fall in love with Quill again. With the hand he was given, it was the right choice. I just wish he wasn't given that hand. Gamora and Rocket were probably my favorite characters in GOTG 1 and 2, and this feels like such an abrupt end to Gamora's story. She dies like immediately after she warms up to Quill lmfao. But watching this movie leaves me with thoughts of what could've been if Infinity War didn't do that||

Man of steel a little bit of superman 2025 ||the stuff related to Martha and pa Kent is so dog water in this version I forgot how much they fumbled them. Literally nothing about them raising him to be good, honest and a caring person. Just "hide who you are Clark or the world will hate you" reducing pa Kent to that is an absolute disservice that doesn't even have a comic precedent like Jor el and Lara not being good in some versions. It just feels like Snyder and goyer love the idea that good kryptonian culture from his dad > earth. They keep mentioning he can mix the best of both but I've seen nothing about the goodness of humans from Clark. It's just "what my alien dad said is the most important stuff in my life and my moral compass." That man din't raise you and you're a grown ass man. In superman 2025 I can understand Clark holding onto a bit of his kryptonian culture. He wants to feel a connection to not just his earth parents but also believe he was sent here for a good reason. In MOS it just feels like a glaze fest for krypton and superman doesn't have any human foundation. He barely has a personality and I'm 1 hour and 20 minutes into this ???. The only human side scene I enjoyed was ma kent helping clark focus his super senses so he's not overwhelmed. But that scene where pa kent said he should have maybe let the kids on the bus die was utter trash. "Yes son you should have maybe let all those innocent kids drown to protect your identity."||

Guardians of the galaxy 3 || I also think Gunn did the mature and right thing by giving Gamora her own arc and having her realize things with the guardians. The star of the movie really was rocket and quill coming to terms with the fact he needs to work on himself. I genuinely adore the 3rd movie and found it to be a perfect way for Gunn to close off his trilogy. In the end he got done dirty by how infinity war handled her. So he played it the best he could. But theres something so raw about how 3 is when it comes to the emotional moments. My favorite beat still is rockets close shave with death, the way Peter is crying is just insane. He's just reminded of what it was like to lose his mother and gamora. And he refuses to lose his best friend like that too. I do think that relief and connection was earned for all of them really. I specially love that even nebula is crying in relief at hearing rocket's voice. Gunn injects so much personality into everyone its a real treat to watch. And the high evolutionary is probably top 3 mcu villain for me tbh.||

In fact, I think it would be fine if Gamora died... if it was under a GOTG3, and then GOTG 3 as it is now, ends up being a GOTG 4 or something. I'd have just liked to see something where Gamora got to be a part of the group for longer. But yeah, everything with Rocket was great. Although it is a little sad that right after everyone went through so much to save him, they all left him in the end lol. Its good that they're all coming to terms with their internal struggles, but damn... lol. ||

But I feel like it was better to do it like this than tie guns hands with a 4th movie. I feel the people at Disney would find a way to make it even harder for him to make it with their plans for doomsday or secret wars if it had happened.||

That big movie isn't written by or directed by the person that made the trilogy the dead character comes from. All of a sudden things change abruptly and plans need to be shifted. This is an extreme version of what I fear for a reeves verse/dcu merger lol||

Hotel Rwanda ||So I finished this morning with my dad and damn, was that emotional. I really like how they portrayed parts of the story in a more direct way. They showed way more than I expected with the genocide and the most haunting scene in the movie being basically an accident as Paul goes on a run for supplies is soooo good. I love how we linger there for a good amount as if we are in his shoes, completely shocked at the mere concept of what is being implied. Hundreds, if not, thousands upon thousands of dead bodies. Men, women, children. It's horrifying to even look this shit up but there was almost half a million who died from this conflict, potentially even more. Aside from that though, I noticed how good the acting was. Everyone involved really did come across as genuinely petrified or outright intimidating. I love how the emotional climax of the movie sorta happens twice when we think Paul's wife, Tatiana and the kids, really did jump off of the roof of the building. He wanted to do everything possible to save people he knew, both Tutsi and Hutu. It's crazy to think how powerful racism and hatred can get and the portrayal even at the beginning established that so quickly. The constant demeanor the Hutus have for the Tutsis, the spam usage of the word "cockroaches" to describe the Tutsis, and the utility of the UN did wonders to show how desperate and scary the situation was.||

Hotel Rwanda ||Looking up the actual Rwandan Civil War and Rwandan genocide itself was nightmare fuel. Way more died and were taken advantage of than I realized and it's unbelievable to me that this didn't even happen that long ago. I think Don Cheadle and everyone who worked on this absolutely deserves endless praise. I've never feared for so many characters in my life and oh man, the amount of times we just have shots of poor orphans who lost their loved ones. No parents in sight. Hell, even with that last scene at the end when they discover that the cousins are alive, there were so many children and people missing. That's terrible. Hotel Rwanda ||We had our Red Cross girl, the UN guy, the hotel's staff, Gregoire (scumfuck traitor), Tatiana and the girls, hell, they even went out of there way to establish that the neighbors were just normal, albeit, poor working class-people trying to survive. I fucking love that. So many innocents that died in the crossfire and so much destruction, all of that only for the Hutus to inevitably fail in the end. It becomes that much more triumphant when they get saved by the Tutsi rebels. My dad didn't even realize what had happened LOL, he thought the guys in blue were bad too. Made me appreciate my own life a lot more and how lucky I am to not be in a country that's in a civil war (very funny, isn't it?). Anyways, the best scene in the movie is easily the one between Paul and Tatiana on the rooftop of the hotel. They reminisce about their lives and how they met early on. It's incredibly powerful and the fact that it leads Paul to think even further ahead to trying to find a way to spare his family from a much scarier fate is extremely crushing.|| Where is this in One Piece, oh that's right, nowhere lol

Hotel Rwanda ||I went into this movie expecting to get put off by the cinematography, a bad script, or even the accents. But no, it was perfectly fine. Emotionally, it resonated with me and watching it through with my dad made the experience all the more haunting. Hopefully, this film, like a lot of historical ones, serves as an opportunity for people to always remember the past so that we can never repeat it. Seems scarily relevant these days when a lot of stories choose to obfuscate the problem or apply misguided nuance in a genocide when there isn't any. Sad world but had a good time (despite the sobbing).||
