Finished Kingdom of the Crystal Skull ||The movie felt like a real adventure, having a mix of the best elements from previous movies. I liked the dynamics of the Jones family and their journey to getting to what I think to be one of the coolest places ever explored in the Jones movies. The aliens, the treasure discovered, and the payoff of seeing Jones living a happy married life made me happy. I enjoyed this a lot. ||

Finished Indiana Jones: Dial of Destiny ||Yeah.. this definitely is the weakest Indiana Jones film made. It’s still kinda fun to watch, but the cast dynamics and repetitive World II villain conflict was far less interesting. It wasn’t till the cast time traveled that I got somewhat engaged, but a large portion of the story felt.. boring, like I’ve gone through the motions by now. I expected better. Genuinely, I wanted to like this one because Jones going through an old life crisis would have made for interesting character exploration. Instead, I get sort of a repetitive movie that didn’t do anything interesting with Jones until the last act.||

Finished Adventures of Tintin ||This was alright. It’s got the cleanest animation artstyle I’ve seen that made its action pleasing to look at. The film was mostly action adventure driven, and that can make for a fun film depending on how entertaining the main cast dynamic are. I felt the ride overall felt kinda dull cause the main cast was not that fun to watch. The drunk beard guy was kinda fun, but not the main character. He’s a typical kid with adventurous ambitions and nothing quite more to make him entertaining.||

his sound effects are perhaps the best i've heard live

yep, it depends of course, i personally like telling a good story even in instances of combat so i enjoy those moments a lot

I use a ton of art to set specific environments, e.g. map of a town with location icons they can visit on it, like a bar, which when they choose to interact will have a specific background image off deviantart lol that i drag various intractable characters (also art I’ve stolen) onto as a presentable.

i think online DMing like this is a lot more approachable in general

cause the DM can make it less about roleplaying

It's not very saccharine like say fuckin Ted Lasso or something but they've got some really good slice of life stuff going on as well

These are 3-4 year long epic campaigns with multiple arcs and storylines so if a character dies like say at episode 30, then they have a whole load of story to tell along with the consequences of losing a character and them either trying and succeeding/failing to revive that character and if that eventuality of bringing a new player does happen then they create a new character which players do beforehand itself, and Matt waits for the right opportunity in story to bring them in

I finished Good Will Hunting ||I liked it. The characters were so well-written that I was completely in-tune whenever the therapist and the stubborn guy talked. I can see a lot of people who are just as stubborn as the stubborn guy relating to his struggles in making excuses/moving forward and being inspired by it. All that ranting of the protagonist hating who he is and distancing himself from others did a lot in building up to the climatic scene of him crying and apologizing to his therapist. I was pretty emotional, though not to the point of crying. The last scene where Will wasn't home hit hard. Great coming of age film. 👍 ||
