the length gives the characters plenty of time to grow slowly and end up wildly different from where they started

a lot of stories feel like the heroes rapidly become ready for whatever grand destiny after being plucked out of their smaller lives but in wot its such a long and gradual progression

the arc of the main character is one of my favorite character arcs in any series cause they go through a lot of different phases over a very long progression in direct response to the things that happen to them

A Crown of Swords || this seems more politically focused than the previous books. The beginning spent a LOT of time telling us how much Perrin really loved Faile and how he really wanted to get back to her. I always love the Rand moments so those were never dull and I’m glad we went back to before Moghedien was release to see what Egwene and the rest of the salidar party were up to + following up on that. I do wonder if somehow Ishmael is still alive or if it’s Demandred who released her. Asmodeus is also possible considering he was brought back to like by the Dark One same with Lanfear ||

The Boys S3 was great! 😄 10/10 season. ||What I particularly loved this season, more than Homelander finally getting the beat-up he deserves, was how everyone of the Boys crew developed to stand up for themselves to be able to do bold decisions, even when they're facing hard decisions forced by opposing characters at their worst and lowest (Homelander/Billy). For better and worse, Homelander has been exposed to the public, but is far more aggressive in his actions now that he's alone in his dominating pursuit. The Boys have an even better advantage to expose and weaken Homelander. Surely, parallels to the 45th president to the United States will be more apparent, and I'm betting that even if the plane incident were to be shown, some of Homelander's audience will take it up as fake and say its propaganda. Homelander is on a roll to be a terrible leader of Vought and show off more hypocrisy & nonsense to the world, and somehow, some people will eat up his nonsense as true. I love what's being built up in the story, the current situation as it is can make the Boys side or Homelander side fall hard. Who will fall and rise ultimately, i'm excited to find out. 😳 ||

As I've been told, I should be watching Gen V next to get a proper understanding of S4, so I'll go do that tomorrow. 🚂

I finished Hazbin Hotel ||I enjoyed it. This had a really fun interpretation of hell in general (from the world to characters). The banger musical numbers helped made what is otherwise a basic angels (bad) vs demons (good) story into something very entertaining and standout. The show can get visually overstimulating at times with the animation, but I kinda liked that about it. My favorite character ended up being the jaded gambler bat guy. Pretty entertaining show overall. 👍 ||

Finished Five Nights at Freddy's movie ||Call me crazy if you wish, I am shockingly surprised by how much I liked it. It's not so much a scary film and I don't think it's trying to be that. This is a different adaptation of the source material that is more character-driven. I like how the FNAF lore was used with the ghost children and how it relates to Afton being a terrible parent to tie into the theme of parenthood. It made the teamwork between Mike, Abby, and Vanessa really special, as they all grew to care for one another to stop Afton's crimes of misguiding the animatronics. The emphasis of parenthood with Abby and Mike really touched me and got me more invested in the film than I expected. Super glad I saw this, I actually thought this would be trash, but it was more than that. :O||

Mando s3/Rebels/Ahsoka || fair enough.. when it comes to franchises, I'm pretty forgiving when it comes to pacing.. if its a movie or a one off I'm more impatient but because stuff like how Rebels ended with Ezra mystery and not finding out his fate until years later with Ahsoka, SW pacing is just endless in general. Like there are still questions I have that I'm still waiting for but shows like Mando, I'm just kinda chillin.. but that's me. I get people don't like S3 though.. I've waited since TCW to find out what's gonna happen with Mandalorians teaming up to get back their planet, and I got it so I'm happy ||

Watched 5 episodes of Batman Caped Crusader ||Not a bad show by any means, but it's very run-of-the-mill with its episodic stories. I feel nothing with what's happening with the characters at all. It could go a long way for these series if the writers gave these characters more entertaining traits to make the characters stand out more. This animated iteration is mixing mature elements with kinda kiddy villains that don't have the best mixture for good entertainment. ||

I cannot see where the Shaido plot is going and should’ve ended in Dumais Well and just have skirmishes against them. The only part that matters is Galina being the head of the Red and Black Ajah being captured by the Shaido but otherwise nothing of note happens aside from Sammael and Graendal giving them straight up bullshit items to divert Rands forces. I would’ve rather seen Sammaels POV instead of Sevannas ||

Malazan end vs Wot end. || It feels like theres a core difference between the overall setup where WOT it feels like rand is going around recruiting every force in the world to stand in line together and fight against the dark one. It feels like the entire world is grouped up together to do at least a little osmething towards the ending. Vs malazan I feel like is more willing to leave people behind if theyre not relevant to the story at hand in the context of the wilder world.

I remember being annoyed that a new set of characters of the kingdoms neighboring lether were introduced in book 9 but in hindsight i get it in that these are just the people who were there and rose to the occasion. The world has people adjacent to kolanse and the forkral assail empire so it makes sense that they be included. And you might wonder why people like crokus and apsalar werent dragged into the big ending. I dont think there's the same need for these chars to be wrapped up in the final end just because they exist and have a lot of buildup.

I dont think either of these is inherently better its just kind of interesting to see kind of a philosophical difference in similar grand battle endings to megaseries ||

I watched 4 episodes of that Fallout TV series ||So far, it's alright. I'm not particularly a fan of these types of series where its just lone adventures of characters like Samurai Jack/Lone Wolf and Cub. I find myself not getting invested. Though for Fallout, it does follow multiple characters, but I barely care for any aside from the vault dweller. I'm sure it'll get better with later episodes when these characters get explored more. But as of now, meh experience so far.||

Why would he be so literal and yet so vague about what hes thinking, he was actually thinking of ways to deal with grief and yet he makes himself appear as an asshole. ||

Young sheldon s7 final ep ||wow. What an amazing show. While i did find sheldon and missy unlikeable at times, all things considered, every one of them was an amazing character. I love this show so much. I think there will be a spin off with georgie and mandy as the main focus, that will be great coz i love those two, but i also heard it might be more sitcom-y? Whatever the case, ill be sure to watch it. ||

Finished Along with the Gods 1 ||It's alright. I really like the worldbuilding and premise. Worldbuilding is especially unique in how the story newly interprets ways to judge people for their sins and good deeds by going through 7 trials that go through different aspects of the protagonist. In execution though, I find the plot very shallow because the protagonist being judged is a selfless goody two-shoes, whereas the judges are very black & white and harsh in their judgment. The story seemed specifically designed for the audience to root for the good protagonist and hate the judges for their quick judgment until they see his tragic backstory, and that just didn't work for me. Most Korean stories I seen and read seem to have rigged circumstances in order for their stories to work and now I'm starting to dislike it. I would've rather have seen a more morally gray character be judged than have this plot of a goody guy on a quest to be a paragon. Cool idea for a movie, not much value to gain in overall execution.||

Nope, tbh i dont watch sitcoms often, but young sheldon i found particularly interesting, so i watched it all. Actually, there was one i watched called everybody hates chris. Its pretty funny
