xmen 97 finale|| That ending was crazy, i was speechless until i saw the aftermath. Cool setup for s2 with apocalypse. Bastion was a great villian, a much better ultron. I love how all the xmen gets to shine, perfect teamwork. The cameos of other heroes was cool, esp daredevil, cloak and dagger. ||

plus the fact that its pushing for so many sequels and prequels without the intention to tell a well defined story in the contours of a film's runtime that also functions as a sequel or a prequel should, while continuining on the thematic throughline of what they're continuing on or expounding on

I think Pixar films are created with both children and adults in mind and as such get taken seriously by people; this has obvious limitations, but Wall-E and some other films exist on both levels quite well. inside out leans much more towards children but has a concept that’s nearly impossible to portray in a meaningful way without a more direct focus, and ends up feeling like a curated experience rather than legitimate introspection. Is this the film’s fault? I think it’s an inherent issue with the subject matter

i think its the concept itself, there cant be ways to depict the concept meaningfully without having it become heavy handed almost inherently as soon as it lands into execution

on paper it seems like a good idea to go forward with such a concept but it becomes an exercise in futile reconciliation of bringing nuance to a concept that has to be dumbed down in order to become a film that can be "relatable" to everyone

I liked the movie a lot but it was first time when I didn't feel the same hype as after every other MCU movie I have feeled. I don't know what it is. Maybe I had so high expectations and it couldnt deliever them. Also the movie was too short, villains were not the most interesting this time either. The ending feeled too rushed so thats why it could have been longer. I have to see it again so I can think about it more. HOTD entire show ||I agree. There are some slightly sympathetic aspects in season 1 too despite the OBVIOUSLY disgusting and heinous shit he did. There's a lot of parallels to Tyrion Lannister from GoT, honestly. Both characters neglected by their fathers and only really wanting to be accepted and loved by their immediate families to no avail so they turn to whoring and drinking, but in different personalities/scenarios. It also didn't help that Aegon's scenes in Season 2 were flat out just the more captivating parts of the episodes to watch.||

HOTD show || It reminds me of a remark I’ve heard/read in regards to the in-universe narrators of Fire & Blood and really a statement that GRRM has said is that history is chalk full of unreliable narrators and that it’s difficult for people to remove bias from historical retellings. In so far as the show is concerned it seems they’ve decided to remove any and all nuance that you would imagine should exist in this situation to paint it as blatantly “good” vs evil. As far as Aegon II is concerned I think his actor’s portrayal is just so charismatic that when you see everyone around him is just trying to manipulate him you can’t help but pity him||
