@mild seal CR C3 latest || https://twitter.com/kavroo1/status/1584713435224252417 ||

I live in the UK
oh word my ass has just been watching it late smh
Yeah, I'm a masters student
sicko mode
Idk what that means but I'm guessing it's something positive
yeah that's sick.. as in the good kind of sick lol
Oh right yeah
good luck though.. you'll be there for sometime or what?
My course is for an year
And then work here for 2 years and then move somewhere else
oh nicee... making moves out here
Yeah
hopefully you keep USA in mind š
Nah
ā ļø
seven psychopaths such an odd film
Why.
š
I haven't watched that in forever
I have only watched a few eps when they were on TV. I think it used to come in Comedy central here
The batman spin off series|| https://twitter.com/CultureCrave/status/1585016208864464896?t=l4t8J5Bew1OK1mGuXzLzDQ&s=19 ||
Ah.
Yeah much of western TV wasn't my growing up thing. Buffy, castle, firefly, and the x-men and MCU movies were what I grew up with
I probably watched Buffy as a kid
I definitely remember watching it
It's one of my favorite shows
I remember watching it but don't remember anything other than the fact that I used to love it lol
I rewatch it every so often
Remember most of Castle. Loved it and still love it, tho they messed it up trying to milk it
I haven't seen that one
Castle || should have ended in Beckett and Castle wedding after they took care of the senator. Instead we got 2-3 season of mid
||
it reached such a beautiful ending point, then they milked it for 2-3 more season until it was cancelled or they just gave it up iirc
All three tv series I grew up most with are his shows
Lol
Started with castle, caught up then watched Buffy and then Firefly
I gotta check out Castle
Lemme know what you think. I tried rewatching some eps in early covid but gave up realizing I still remember like all major details of my fav of the individual cases lol.
Will do:)
Should rewatch Buffy. Tho with these old shows, I am scared that I might not like it as much as I did before
How are they as a director? I checked their works but I haven't seen any of them
Buffy is so 90s it's incredible. Lol
I mean I'm not optimistic because at the end of the day the dipshits running Warner Bros have the final say but I am intrigued
well they have been giving them all the control
and they put them in control so i'm very interested
Hope the things would improve. Black Adam || the superman tweet is looking very hopeful to me ||
Haven't seen it yet
when do you see it?
In 4-5 days ig. Can't really leave the house when both of my parents are sick
Haven't gone to see Film red due to that too
ah sorry to hear that
going to watch one now because i realized if i dont watch one today ill probably never watch any of hem
I heard its on hbo max now so I might watch it
@white smelt Tales of the Jedi... first episode up in 1 hour!
I have no idea where to post this but fuck it

@outer tulip
Billy Boyd (mostly known for his role as Pippin in the Lord of the Rings trilogy) talking about playing League of Legends. Video was taken at FACTS convention in Ghent on October 22nd 2022.
Pippin ruined
According to The Telegraph Doctor Who made $1.8 billion in global sales last year. $550 million of which were from the US.
This makes it one of the BBCās biggest exports and means, in programme sales alone, Doctor Who is worth three times as much as the UKās fishing industry.

Goddamn
Its gonna be so much bigger with the disney+ deal as well
time for andor
Owl House S2 Episode 8 ||Holy shit, Hooty making a tunnel of love for Luz and Amity was the funniest fucking thing I've seen. Also unironically the best way to see them get paired convincingly, contrast to their meh romantic chemistry from the previous episodes. I laughed too fucking hard.
||
I am so glad I saw this blind.
ha for some reason this doesnt surprise me
billy boyd and dominic monaghan have been playing league for a long time
they talk about it a lot in their podcast
I love how theyāve been friends for over 20 years
Does the soul some good to see such a long lasting relationship/friendship form from LOTR
How good was Harry stylesā acting?š
Looking at some letterboxd reviews makes me wanna not watch movies anymore
Hot d finale || https://twitter.com/thefirstokiro/status/1585051863283798016?s=46&t=52gMrpIr2mCdEEkq-39yAg ||
why

im a little curious about dont worry darling but i also dont want to sit through that
just read tweets about it, probably a better experience

Good andor episode
nicee
Andor episode 8 || the empire just comes across as such an insurmountable enemy in this show it's honestly pretty incredible to see the wall and efficient oppression machine that is the empire ||
so ima watch the first episode of tales of jedi 1st, then andor e8... then Ima come back and read that lol
then maybe do one more episode of tales
is that out
Yo harsh, iām gonna try watching some DC movies soon
Saw Black Adam the other day
I want to see the superman movies a lot. Black Adam ||My theater was kinda empty but the people that were there got really hyped about Superman showing up so i wanna see whatās up||
Iāll probably watch the DCEU in release order as well
There's not much in that
I also want to watch that Harley Quinn animated show
If we're talking about DC movies outside DCEU then we have a shit ton of movies that are great quality
Iāll definitely watch the batman movies
The Batman, Dark Knight trilogy, Superman 1975, Batman 1989 and Batman Returns, Mask of the Phantasm (best Batman movie ever but it's animated)
The Suicide Squad
DC has the much better animated movie catalogue
Iāve heard that a lot
My dad would watch the Young Justice show when i was younger. I think thatās what it was called at least
Young Justice yeah
Are any of the animated shows connected or are they all their own stories
Man young justice was so fire to watch on CN back then
Andor e8 || yeah theyāre really cracking down with the anti imperial activity, especially with this PORD initiative ||
Andor e8 || Saw Gerrera at last! ||
Just got off work so no clue is this been posted
HBO Maxās āGREEN LANTERNā series is being redeveloped.
The series will now focus on John Stewart, it was originally set to focus on various Lanterns including Alan Scott and Guy Gardner.

Much better thank fuck
Guy Gardner is the bowl cut dude right? lol
Guy Gardner def says slurs
you love him bc he says slurs
most racist homophobic man in several galaxies
give us kyle in this show too
think we'll see alan scott bc he was in the jsa
and it seems they wanna keep going with the jsa
need more chances for john boyega
I'd still prefer if they didn't focus on any particular lantern
people wanted him to play static shock but he said too old and @ the black kid from stranger things
and i think he would be a good static
just give us a darker skin static and john stewart
john boyega would be great tho
i should watch his newest movie and woman king to see his more serious side
havent watched woman king yet, gotta check that out later
the visuals are so god awful but i still like the movie
Itās a fantastic movie
The only issue was there some outrage about the history not being a exactly correct that viola Davis had to address
Fuck I wanna do a Calvin and Hobbes reread yet again
we all know why there was outrage about that lolā¦
not like the people complaining saw the movie
Thinking about how good Booksmart was and how much Olivia Wilde fumbled directing Don't Worry Darling
Pretty insane to me
I mean theyād have to watch it to point out the historical inaccuracy no?
Idk what you mean lol
its all repeated takes
people hear it from someone and say it
not actually watching the film
Ohh yeah ofcourse lol
It started with one article than people ran with it
In fact when I went to see it a second time. in the early part of the movie I had to go to customer service about something and I asked this guy who had the same issue as me how he liked the movie so far. I told him I saw it already it, he said he didnāt but he already knew the history and told me if I wanted to watch something more accurate to checkout this documentary on Netflix
So to your point though, he didnāt watch enough of it to make that criticism himself
Barbarian was nuts
word I'm watching it tonight
When I went to watch it I found my site had only uploaded 20 minutes of it
Iāll try again tonight
nah ur site really had a sneak peakš
smh
is it realllyyyy scary? I'm watching this by myself
Nah i dont think so
First 10 minutes of Barbarian is so interesting ā¦
Report back when youāre 20 minutes in
About 20 minutes in Barbarian, still goodd
No fate sealing unreasonable stupidity from the protagonistā¦. yet
Thatās over now
Barbarian || this stupid girl is afraid of the basement door keep closing for no reason but walks right into the dungeon one like it aināt nbd tho? ||
This is a classic āoh hell no I aināt going in that shitā kinda scary movie smh
Barbarian || she deserves to die ||
Iām over it
Ok so I guess this is one of those weird shifty movies
this movie is not great
not barbarianā¦
^
Barbarian || this guy really just ignoring the camera and mattress blood stains in a hidden basement compartment just to calc extra sq ft he could get on selling the house ?||
yea thats the joke š¤
Lol I know
Aww it was good
The last third was good⦠the of mice and men feels on the ending
before
Wowa
Eventually want to read it
oh my god google thinks freeman's mind is official
I def found some parts scary
So based on the "beware my power" movie one?
I decided to re-watch The Bear and I realized something
The Bear finale ||in the first episode when Carmy is about to make the spaghetti he throws away the can of tomatoes that has the money in it||
Bruh it's linking to the fan wiki of the mind series, not the half life fan wiki or Wikipedia. Also spoiler tags pls
That's Walter white
andor episode 8 ||still thinking about saw and luthen's conversation in this episode, what a well written scene||
cant stop thinking about that andor episode
This
@brave orbit finished edgedancer, getting on to Oathbringer
Edgedancer ||If you look at the book blurbs, they are written from The Sleepless' pov, you can tell by how they call people by their purpose, like referring to Szeth as "the assassin", which is mentioned in the WOR blurb||
Yeah i got that
yea i liked it a lot
yeah there a few but nothing too crazy
Hope not since itās been done recently and the movie was kinda overloaded
Hoping itās like jl JLU gl
People want snyderverse gl to return
Could be cool
Snyderverse GL as in? Justice League movie didn't have Green Lantern, no?
By that I mean the actor shoulda been more clear
The Walking Dead; Volume 8
||Holy shit they killed the fucking babyš||
@modern lichen || https://getcomics.info/other-comics/fire-power-24-2022/ || Fire Power #24 is out
Nice
Idk if you care if I ping you for stuff like this I just know you like Fire power n' junk

O neat
I dont mind them
hecc yeah

I'll let you know for Fire Power and The Human Target then
I just read the Riddler Year One issue yesterday
Oh yeahhh I forgot those were publishing
Oh I have to check if the one you pinged me with for The Human Target was the finale
I don't think so?
Yeah, Paul Dano himself is the lead writer on the series, which is pretty special
For the Riddler series
Each issue was counting down the days so I'd assume the finale would be the last day/day after
I see
Neat, I'll have to check it out then
On a side note; been watching Bojack with my partner, enjoying it a lot. Only on s1:e7
Bojack s1:e7 ||last episode was the "stealing the D" episode so rn he's all drunk and sad over having Diane be engaged to Mr. PB||
Yeah I know it's heavy
Owl House S2 Episode 17 ||I'm disappointed that the whole bone village where King was supposedly from was just a fake out.
It felt like wasted time, built up for nothing. ||
Is Fire Power near end?
Yeah
Are these issues like length of volumes or monthly chs?
They're not monthly
Ye
They're about 45 pages in length on average
50 pages more like
A closer average estimate
Fire Power issues though are fairly shorter
I recall them being monthly tho
No
So #24 above would be like 24 45 page-ish chs ?
The art of that looked really alluring from what I used to see here
It's great

Writing is writing imo, doesn't really matter to me who writes it as long as it's good
You don't like Invincible? Or is the show different from the comic
Yeah I saw
I dont like Invincible yeah
The show is not different from the comic, it adapts it almost exactly with small changes
Gonna read Fire Power when it ends then. I read Batman Year One some months ago and it was already too heavy for me. Took me a long time to read
Ah
The coloring took me a long time to adapt ig

inside llewyn Davis || https://youtu.be/rlSQUQSJzg8 || I love behind the scenes footage
Documentary about 'Inside Llewyn Davis'.
Director: David Pryor
2013.
Might watch the movie again soon itās so good
Fire Power issue 24
Fire Power latest
Holy fuck
Fire Power latest || no fucking way ||
That was an amazing issue
The new Wayne Family Adventures chapter got me a little emotional
Owl House S2 Episode 19 ||LOL, calling the staff out
||
Netflix has launched a Discord bot where you can host watch parties with your friends.

2019
Cool
1.99 an episode for each friend
they just gotta stop shitting on their business
ez money
and stop giving god awful shows like jupiters legacy crazy budget
that show was dog water and the budget for how shit it looked was bonkers
They should get creatives to produce shows not businessmen
fr it's pathetic when they see dollar signs and not quality
I speak from being commissioned for youtubers
like obviously the show gotta appeal and make money but if the others are checked it will make big money
they need to stop shitting on animation too
jupiters legacy had a budget of 200 mil
idk who's seen it but the visuals were terrible and the story was a watered down arrow in a sense
Torchwood's S1 budget afaik was like nothing, but you can tell it was made by creatives who loved telling a good story purely due to how experimental the show was and how insane of an idea it was
Then it went on to get 4 seasons and being literally its own thing from being a spinoff
it is crazy that so many marvel shows and star wars shows never manage that from the quantity that is being produced
I'm excluding Andor here because it's quite recent
i'm not huge on starwars i really like the clone wars cartoon but otherwise i think it's cool and falls flat in some places
but andor is really nice
some budgets are too high like if you ever see jupiters legacy you'd think it was a fan short
200 fucking million holy shit
I'm more referring to the ratio of quantity-quality being so minimal
nah i get you
the old 1 2 3 start method lol
i'd pirate everything but i like watching on the tv so i can focus plus i do wanna support some people
they're out their mind just stop ruining your business
make your platform better stop fucking creatives
Whoever needed to be paid (aka the writers, who get so much less than the actors) got paid, so me supporting doesn't make much difference beside the corporation
yea i dont think they get royalties from streams
The people who didnt do any work get paid more
literally
stop giving celebs millions for voice work when you give others 30$
like good on you guys butdid you need 10 mil for minions
well its not just hollywood
Screenplays get sold for like 1$ just because they want a chance of their work being seen over their pay
And they are barely ever credited either for that
sad world
Also to just break in in anything hollywood
they need to be more experimental esp when you realize it's a bunch of suits who don't watch things
Gotta be a chore boy for 5 years before you start to get anything meaningful
been watching this really neat YT channel for movies and writing and the things i hear are motivating yet so discouraging
they treat writers with no respect
they carry so hard
is it film courage
yeah i don't watch all their vids
like ign in a way where it's X amount of people giving diff opinions
sad had to compare to sumn like that but yknow
i wanna write outside of a comic format just to expand my portfolio and what not so i watch them for some inspo
They even publish their scripts to help other people learn from them
oh damn that'd def be cool
BBC handles the creative process quite well
been lookin for specific movie scripts bc ik adapting movie scripts on my own will be a good look into what i can do
specific scripts in general
They are more for TV shows but yea they work as well
RTD's best scripts for doctor who are there
format is a big help for me at least then i can work off it and adjust need be
Finished Owl House S2. Welp, I'm gonna be waiting a long while for S3's last two episodes.
The final episodes were really good.
š¶
amphibia is finished, but owl house isn't. it's got two specials to air left
@trim thunder where would I watch the first S3 special?
These are the ones for Doctor who if you need them
https://www.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scripts/tv-drama/doctor-who/
appreciate that will def be a big help
i've been writing in a more webtoon style basically panel by panel and not going super in depth so to have this side will be big
also been looking into copy writing to see if i wanna do that just to expand future portfolio
I've been trying to write screenplays with no avail as well
I'll get there with time ig lol
i'm reading more into it bc i wanna make my own comics (writing and creating bc i can't draw) but i also wanna get into film
gotta find my voice too
An exercise I did that helped my screenplays a lot was trying to write action text within one line only
def sounds helpful
Even just for mundane scenes, it really gets you far
the series i'm writing rn for my personal work are action rn or hve action so it will help for sure
ah nice
i need to read more bc i wanna break into other genres other than just action
ion even like action the most i just think if it's not stereoptypical it can be good
I usually really love the drama + action convo
same same that's most exciting for me
also a massive sucker for romance and slice of life
Ah yea I lump those under drama
I also like comedy but always have to restrain myself from writing it because i can never find ways to seamlessly fit it in lol
me too lol i always feel like while i can be funny, writing comedy feels forced somehow
Yea I would have no idea on how to write for a panel format
not shitting on marvel but i try to make the comedy not as frequent or forced but have a nice flow to it when i write
i basically envision the panel then i write what's happening then add speaking line
so basically like a screenplay or whatever but a bit dumbed down and you gotta account for the stills
Oh I just remembered I did a spec script for always sunny once, it actually came out pretty funny
Yea I know what you mean
my writing style is diff bc i'm extremely character oriented
i have to form the char and see them then i b uild off that
gets expensive lol but it helps me
premise, characters, arcs that's my order
Was kinda proud of this one
Yea final draft spell checker is very doodoo
i do wonder how long samples should be bc ideally i wanna have 1 for like a movie a show in some diff mediums
one 45 minute ep is 60 pages iirc
a movie is like 140 pages
for screenplays i mean
Btw, years and years still has the best opening scene to a series ever imo
if you are interested the script is there too
Oh for sure appreciate that
Gonna look more into adapting pre existing scripts as well
breaking bad s2 ep 10 ||im confused on the walter and walt jr alcohol scene||
why
bb s2 ep 10 || the whole scene just didnt make sense does it get explained later on? i didnt understand what walter was trying to do||
BB s2 ep 10 ||He is getting to take control of his life back ||
man this is crazy
that someone kidnapped his father and that james cameron just had a million dollars to give him for the ransom
everybody wins
i liked the flash musical episode
Wait what
Are you american
It's Always Sunny
yes hence my loan anxiety lol
The musical episode in one of the latest seasons blew my fucking mind
The flash / Supergirl || the flash had a musical episode cross over with supergirl and it was pretty good i think, grant gustin and melissa benotist have good chemistry and can sing fine enough ||
The S12 one right?
ocassionally
Maybe I'm just traumatised by Riverdale
I'm traumatised by lucifer
its always sunny late || are you talking about the Mac episode ||
Yeah Peggy
always sunny has some real neat episodes in the latest seasons
yea that's a great ep
oh that
the mac one specifically is crazy for them
Yea that one's amazing
mhm
God, how are they still delivering on that show even now
Community musical episode
For anyone who knows these shows, which one is better: bobs burgers or the great north?
S13 was a bit of a mixed bag but S14 is great
was it S13
I mean the one before the latest season
theyve lost some momentum but they still have a few good episodes every season and i think its largely because its their show and not just something they act on
Oh shit, recently The Boys had a pretty good musical number
some funny moments here and there
Always Sunny ||I was thinking of "The Gang Turns Black" episodewhen Harsh mentioned sunny musical ||
Man it's just Riverdale then
i honestly cant think of any bad musical episodes but thats probably because the shows i watch dont usually have them
and the few that do pull it off well
Good dont watch lucifer
Riverdale is way worse
Doubtful
Nah, it truly is worse
Well, you're in luck because The Sandman adapted Lucifer just right
Lucifer season 5 part 2 scene. Lucifer Cast Feat. Aimee Garcia & Lesley-Ann Brandt - Bad to the Bone / No Scrubs
Riverdale is an abomination in every aspect
talking more about the actual comic run than the character but that too
Well i know
Riverdale || https://youtu.be/omOqjExePGE ||
i did this purely for fun. there were some good moments in the episode and i was a little lost considering i havenāt watched the show since season 2 but it seems pretty wild.
also, i have an instagram! if you like musicals and you like art, itās the place for you. my handle is @michael.is.chill, or just follow the link below:
what are they doing?
Is anybody gonna watch the devil's hour?
seems like a quite cool show
@modern lichen
First episode was released on YT by disney channel
You made through it quick
really weird that disney would just put it on youtube for free TBH
They only ever do that with the first episode of older/ended shows so idk
They must already be trying to bury the show
TWD s1 ep6 ||shane is literally me
Iām a bit farther in I donāt think he is me anymore
Yep definitely not me||
WATCH IT
ill try to tomorrow or saturday
i checked like 2 days ago and it wasnt so i guess they finally updated it
im jealous.. its still not out at mine
the closest is time square
@feral kettle would you say this movie is worth suffering the touristy abomination of time square?
for you? probably not
would it be for you?
I suffered it for Breaking but I was really craving a John Boyega movie
finished Tales of the Jedi -- ngl a lot of it was kinda f*cking boring
|| https://twitter.com/CultureCrave/status/1585785196414050304?t=hNxPZ3EpjYMBl0ffFqe0jQ&s=19 || WV spoilers

Spiderman Trigger short?
Interesting fun fact I just found out
Did y'all know Namor/Sub-Mariner was created before Aquaman?
I did not
yup.. mcu fans will never let people forget
Recently watched the warriors movie from 1979. Great movie with a nice soundtrack.
holy shit that came out in 79
LETS GOO
Watch Eega, it's a magical experience
I watched it twice in the theatres
Great movie
Reread the Oathbringer prologue
Intense stuff
Oathbringer prologue || the conversation between Gavilar and Eshonai is so tense, just the sense of dread from Eshonai and the hardline nature of Gavilar makes for a great scene ||
Shout-out to guys who watch Adult Swim every night and catalogue all the bumpers and commercials. I'd never have the patience to do that.
Gonna see it tomorrow afternoon btw
Ok, that was a good episode Owl House S3 Ep 1, Amphibia spoilers ||Honestly, going from Amphibia to Owl House, I somewhat appreciate that the human world shenanigans were kept extremely brief compared to Amphibia. Even though I did enjoy a lot of human world stuff in Amphibia. Obviously, it would've been nice to have more time with the main 5 in the human world to experience, I'm sure there would've been a lot of fun episodes that could've happened, but it's also extremely nice to trim down the fat so we can get into the collector takes over witch world plot immediately. That collector deal I was most curious about more than human world stuff anyway.||
@trim thunder
||I kinda hate to say it, but S3 being trimmed down to three specials was probably for the better, even if corporate shenanigans was the main cause. š ||
Seems like you liked it a good deal so far
Whatās your opinion on S3 being trimmed down
Tales of the Jedi was very earnest but watching it after Andor feels pretty weird
Tales of the Jedi || the more quiet nature of the animated shorts made for compelling watch but it's still pretty straightforward in what it's doing and saying about things. Really liked seeing Ashoka growing as well as Dooku's descent and seeing him react to Qui Gon being gone ||
yeah they should've released it on a separate day
I rather had binged it then watch the first 2 then watch Andor and then go back
Not every movie in the world needs to be a display of excellent cinematography, like I'm sorry films are allowed to look ugly I don't know where this new mentality came from
our generation is cooked
yeah that makes the quality of being a good movie exclusive to studios and corp that can afford the standards of good cinematography
Black Panther 2 || https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cgCZYHHzTu4 ||

Queen Ramonda, Shuri, MāBaku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wak...
nah
excellent cinematography in the context of what he's talking about.. yes
dude is saying regardless of whether they're studio movies or not, movies can look ugly
even studio movies can look like shit lol
this is funny because hes definitely referring to studio movies being ugly
not all studio movies are going to be good despite cinematography
but to put this pressure on cinematography being the bar for good movies makes it exclusive to studios for having the best chance of making a "good" movie
most studio films have way worse cinematography than low budget films ivr seen
I just agree that movies shouldn't be forced into thinking cinematography and special effects are the main factor in what makes a movie potentially good
a movie should have good visuals and editing in order to tell the story regardless
cinematography/visuals is definitely a main factor for what makes a film good
films are an audiovisual medium, the audio and visuals enhance the performances and the story in the movie move the audience
for me its the story.. the character development. Those can be good independently from the cinemotography and still be a good film
read books
not necessarily
the visuals and sound are what make a film different from a book
visuals and sound make a movie what it is
and its all relative to the day and age anyway.. cinematography has improved over the years... it doesn't make older movies worse as time goes on
you cant go into a barely legible movie and understand shit
it has to be comprehendible for sure... like at the least
but you don't need "excellent" cinematography to be a good movie
wdym cinematography has improved lol
it just needs to be good enough to support the film .. which is what a movie is anyway
give me an example of a good movie with bad visuals
i'm not sure what you're talking about
the cinematography is the film
mise en scene in general
cinematography is one aspect of the film...
cinematic images require the images to have the breadth and purpose to make them cinematic
give an example, man
writing, acting, there's mad stuff included in making a film
obv I can't think of one atm harsh... im still thinking and will respond once I have it
if a film doesnt make use of the visuals it doesnt justify its reason for being a film
I mean there are movies like Coach Carter, Poop was saying Woman King had bad visuals in his mind.. not "excellent" visuals but great movies
But its not excellent
its a good movie which also has a look that suits the milieu of the story its trying to tell
you still havent mentioned a good movie that looks ugly though
I'm more trying to support aspiring film makers who can't make a movie look aesthetically pleasing cause of the cost to do so... they should still be encouraged to think they can create good movies
there are more low budget movies that look incredible compared to studio movies
budget is not the key here
this isn't about comparing studio films to low budget films
then what is
this is about not being afraid to deem your movie as good if you can't afford excellent cinematography
i'm talking about the need for a movie to be visually competent
every movie has to be competent in visuals.. otherwise it can't get passed
Shiki-jitsu is my favourite movie ever and its both a really simple story beautifully matched by some of the best visuals
"ugly" is the keyword here, i think you're missing that
So i cant really agree looking at what you are saying nami
every film maker wants their work to look good visually
Obi wan be like
i dont understand the weird logic you're employing here
he was being hyperbolic when he said ugly... obviously a movie can't pass without being visually competent..
have you seen the entire thread
yupp.. they're providing their definition of good visuals and what not
but that has nothing to do with my point
I feel like you guys all agree here I think
i'm baffled
i take the issue with saying movies dont need to have good visuals to be good though
which is that excellent cinematography shouldn't be pressured for film makers who feel they can't achieve it. and should still be encouraged to make movies
well
Anyways
Doctor who 60th outfits look so cool
Was that the Evangelion guy's movie?
I don't think you need a big budget to have excellent cinematography
Yes but its not evangelion
ofcourse you don't
plenty of movies have been made for dirt cheap with great cinematography
Its liveaction
Like shiki jitsu
like shiki jitsu
of course and a movie should have competent cinematography.. but he's referring to just the standards of today's society where we base things heavily ON the cinematography. And he's saying this cause it wasn't a thing in the past since visuals have improved a lot throughout the years
i am not going to watch an ugly ass movie, man lol, i consider it as a failure if either the audio or the visuals dont come together to enhance the movie
alright we'll meet here -- it can't be trash, doesn't have to be excellent
If the visuals look trash it will distract you from the movie so ofc its gonna stick out lol
idk why he said a movie can look "trash".. i thought he just being hyperbolic to show a strong position
in regards to how he actually feels though about the mentality of cinematography over the years.. I agree
Anyway, if you dont care for visuals too much you should stick to tv series, those are much more focused on the story rather thsn the visuals
that's not really right either now lol
lol well i'll def watch the things enjoy thanks.. idk about sticking to something haha
Well yea but you get what i mean
i mean comparing tv to movies is a whole other conversation
there's no way to settle that without a deep dive
So Nami, what you mean is you are alright with the movies as long as the cinematography doesn't hinder the story being told?
yes
it doesn't need to be excellent, but it has to be competent ofcourse
other factors of a movie can be enjoyable without having "excellent cinematography"
ah nice lmk whatchu think
Will do

I am unfortunately not interested in watching
its still one of the most crucial aspects so it sticks out when its not done well
man embeds r fked up today
for me visuals is the most superficial aspect to criticize a movie to be good or bad on
fell asleep reading this btw
if its not comprehendable then yeah.. you need to go back to school and fix that.. But if its just not the most beautifully pleasing thing, Im not gonna care
film was created to be visual how is it a superficial thing to criticize
have you seen it yet mr poop?
peep the link i sent
Yea i did
wow avatar being long, who would of saw this coming
preach zae š
I never looked at movies so one dimensional like that i guess
yea its pretty short
the very first movies cared more about looking good than having a story
3 hours of sleep
The visuals are meant to aidstorytelling
evil
Banshees tonight
yeah but I'm more invested in the story and for me the acting portrayals I find more fascination then visuals
like CODA from last year wasn't a visually aesthetic movie but I loved the story and characters and their acting
new yorkers are evil because they get to see movies i cant
copeeee
CODA looked extremely good
bad cinematography is distracting so i cant get invested
im not talking about "bad" cinematography.. like yeah if your stuff isn't comprenshive then you go need to back to the school of arts or something
no one can name a movie they've seen with bad visuals lol
in a artistic way or humorous?
It's not intentionally funny
youre tearing me apart lisa
ive seen almost no new movies this month fuck
I thought you like cameron
There's a joy in watching bad movies
Obi Wan had bad cinematography
I didn't find Avatar to be that good
It was distractingly bad
harsh is evil federick you have to pay attention
indeed but people like Obi Wan more than Andor
O
and by a lot
I wonder why that is
maybe its the fact that one follows a fan favorite character and the other is some guy
people like obi wan more because obi wan is in it
I was just watching a video of this SW youtuber called Star Wars Theory who disliked the latest episode and called it 'filler'
Fail
I only watched the emotional scene where the camera made me puke
Borevatar
Do they? It shows it higher on rotten tomatoes
i hate that guy
literally all because i talk to my friends instead of watching movies, they're ruining me
sw theory is a hack
I know, he's always been a slimy guy
hes the biggest one of THOSE star wars fans
people who own over 100 funko pops prefer obi wan over andor
well one of my issues with him is he has these controversal takes and he doesn't realize how it effects the community
since he has a lot of followers
he was complaining about Moses Ingram getting the role and how the Disney star wars shouldn't be involved in corp politics and diversity hires
he definitely does realize
then once she was getting death threats he had to create a retraction video
I don't think he realizes how people will respond.. I think he just likes the sound of his voice when he's bitching.. so he likes to complain a lot
But that fucking Josh guy.. omg he is god awful to me
who is that
Anyway audience scores on rotten tomatoes (which I know isnāt the end all be all) has Andor at 83 and Obi at 64 so I think even among fans, they are pretty much in agreement that Obi Wan was a stinker
And I only bring it up because in my opinion that show was ugly (cinematography) with not only the sets and composition but it was always shaky cam
It was unpleasant to look at
Critic score also agrees
oh for audience yeah
yeah its 92
I mean its a better show.. its better in general and its better for star wars
I can't relate to the people who prefer Kenobi even though I understand why they prefer it
he is all knowing
Nick posted an animation timeline
Uhhh
I kinda need everyone to slide to the right like 2 inchesā¦. But nonetheless, sooo cool
Is this a thing?
Unfortunately
OH i thought those were their kids
Batrick
What about Angelica? Why is she there?
and why is angelica in 2021
Idk
Yea nami idk maybe there was a rugrats spinoff
Oh apparently theres some cgi rugrats that came out last year
@modern lichen what did you think of the northman and nope?
i liked both of them
i think the northman is a good film but its eggers' weakest effort
nope was a fun movie to watch as well, very open to interpretations
I need to rewatch them both to determine how much I like them š
well, they were pretty good movies nevertheless
yea good quality there
i like the northman alot more than the witch
im not sure, ive all of eggers movies once, but im positive lighthouse is the best at least
i really like that we got these new talented artistic spooky directors with eggers, peele and aster
Ari Asters new movie is coming next year
yea lighthouse is the best
did you see the first man? I havnt seen either that one or la la lan, only whiplash, which was great from damien
read that a lot of people expected more from damien with the first man
man, i'm obsessed with these criterion closet vids lol
Idk how I feel about sonic prime. I will be watching it but Iām gonna keep my expectations grounded
tar in 20 š
it annoys me so much theyre barely releasing any 4k criterion films in eu
i love the barry jenkins one
i like all 3, first man is really good for biopic standards but i dont love it
whiplash and la la land prolly equal i love them both
He's back
At tar
tarrific š
Only other people here are some old couple
That's how you know this movie is going to be a 7/10
you like avatar
You don't
i know my taste is better due to that
i get a feeling my opinion on films is more aligned with mr poop dealer than harsh, ill find out with la la land and first man
The director of the father is now making the son
lol
the director is also the playwright for "the father" and "the son"
- the batman
- the dark knight
- batman (1989)
- batman begins
- batman returns
- dark knight rises
- batman forever
- batman and robin
i dont consider batman v superman to be a batman film
i still rate the dark knight higher than the batman, need to rewatch dark knight rises. usually i feel like burtons batman movies are bit underrated but im happy you got them there
Iād personally put DKR over Batman Returns but otherwise good list
the last two i like to pretend they dont exist
i fuckin love batman returns
pfieffer, walken, devito - just packed with incredible performances
burton was supposed to direct batman forever i think, wish it happened
pfieffer and devito especially are incredible
Devitoās Penguin was something of legend
dark knight for me is a great crime drama than a batman movie which i really loved the batman for, where the movie actually focuses on bruce and batman as an aspect of the focus of the movie
7 to 9
but still good
its a whimper for the trilogy
No love for Dr. Freeze and poison Ivy?
Dkr is the only bad batman movie I've seen but I also haven't seen any of the pre Nolan ones
Or Bat nipples
for freeze, i'll just rewatch "a heart of ice"
batman the animated series really revolutionised superhero media
poison ivy i prefer in the animated series as well
uma thurman was pretty good as ivy though
she had the right inflection for it
but they had to butcher my man bane in that movie
Any of the animated series appearances of Freeze are on point
Iād actually shut that from memory
Lobotomised is the better term
Not a fun movie to watch for a good laugh either
It just hurts me
Batman Forever is more of that tbh, a good laugh
At least the property seems to be in good hands with Reeves
Rewatched The Batman the other week and it still doesnāt miss a beat
It's lean and mean, even at like 3 hours
The problem as well with The Dark Knight is that Ledger steals so much of the show that Batman is not much of a focus as I want him to
The only thing keeping The Dark Knight from the top spot
Otherwise it's one of the best movies I've ever seen
outside of dark knight and brokeback mountain, has heath ledger been in any other great movie?
dont think ive seen it tbh
He's in "I'm Not There" as well, the movie about Bob Dylan
my first thought was that knight movie which was... eeh
from todd hayes... i liked dark waters
Todd Haynes made a lot of good films
Carol is a beautiful movie
(Literally and figuratively)
Also, Blanchett and Mara in that movie
need to see it
Of Dr. Who?
ye
I mean I went in with low expectations and ended up pleasantly surprised
|| The fan service definitely won the day for me, as well as Sacha Dewann going full insane Master. The plot was as poor as what you expect from Chibbers and as usual never delivered any meaningful character development, except for maybe the case of Dan; which is hilarious how quick he nopes out. Iām glad Jodie got a few shining moments, even though they were overshadowed by 5 and 7ās interactions with Ace and Tegan. Iām very much on the RTD hype train now. Tennant is now it and I am ready for him|| Dr. Who Power Of The Doctor spoilers
nice
Dr who centenary ||I feel Dan's exit turned out to be placed really well. The whole ep is about companions leaving the doctor behind, and that's the first instance we see on screen for the ep||
Dr who centenary ||Also the plot was really great for the first half, but he clearly went through a lot of rewrites for the latter ||
Dr who centenary ||And Jodie this ep really made me appreciate chibnall's whole era a lot more. I thought she came off as too childish, but the "Tag, you're it" really puts her character into perspective||
Oathbringer || i know Dalinar's flashback is going to hit in this novel, that first flashback was amazing ||
good
Boring ass hoe ass stupid ass movie
seated for banshees of inisherin
Too bad the woman king stopped showing
Need to fix my car but only thing I have at amc is film red then black panther 2
The fillers for Bleach are so boring that it made me stop watching Bleach 5 times
They even worse than Naruto ones
Probably not but God damn
I've mostly liked Cate Blanchett because she was hot I didn't know she was this good of an actress
yea great year for film
Rrr eeaoo nope Batman tar something else I'm forgetting probably
The northman ?
yea
TaR || was that fucking monster hunter at the end ||
i liked jt more than nope though
Yup
TĆR ||monster huntĆ”r||
movie starting soon
Wrong channel my boy
Yeah you just have to move your hand around
Watching this Jessica Chastain movie on Netflix called The Good nurse⦠didnāt even recognize her!
Breaking bad season 3 episode 2 ||start of the episode really got walter singing along to one of my favorite bands||
