I watched the Morj video and was a bit disappointed that he did not address that one of the main plotlines of Water Seven was to get a shipwrights blueprints for Pluton. That goes against the idea that Zunisha is Pluton because all of a sudden that ancient weapon is a devil fruit user instead of a ship you have to craft

In theory Momonosuke could have simply told Zunisha to walk to Wano and wait for some signal since it seems to obey him. That would be a somewhat flat narrative reason for the elephant to be there though, especially if it happens to die after the events

The bombs are set up for adult mono to come into his own and I don't think Oda will kill off the giant elephant. I reckon it'll kick some ships about, and then come to rest having paid for whatever crime. Sorta like the sea emporers in the fishman arc, so Momo can call on Zunisha for help... more power behind d the SH allies

From the time we saw a photo of luffy and the giant straw hat, like at one of the ancient "weapons" to now, it has been an age. Not only in actual time but in terms of the manga story line. There is no going back, so all the elements really have to start tying together. It's why I highly doubt the renamed fruit is for anyone but luffy, as at this point any other character would not have earned it amd would likely require a whole side arc to make it work. Zunisha aint gonna fight Kaido as there is no set up or pay off. Historically, the SH crew have fought and won by the skin of their teeth, only to then be surrounded by marines, only to have some epic payoff from another character helping them like Bon Clay etc

Personally, I think there are too many holes that need a lot of twisting to explain why Luffy's DF is the legendary one they're talking about. I think it might be Dragon's DF who is labeled as the "most wanted criminal" in the world. I think that title belongs to someone holding a legendary DF. The WG might not have known Dragon awakened it until he made a move to save Sabo. He might've come to Wano on Zunesha with the Revolutionary Army and the minks. Idk what Dragon's goals are but he might be asking for help to save Sabo. That would also provide backup to face against the Marines just outside of Wano since no one on Onigashima is ready to face them now. It's also fitting that another dragon is here in Wano.

Aye. I'd like to present a comprehensive theory on why the renamed fruit has to be Tama's Kibi Kibi no Mi. It's gonna be a few posts long and is an expansion to oli's theory on its true name being Tsuki Tsuki no Mi, Moon Moon Fruit. Kudos to them for providing me with the missing piece to my puzzle.

The Kibi Kibi no Mi and the Minks. A story on Wano's most important national treasure.

Question 1: Why is it the Kibi Kibi no Mi?

First piece of evidence:
Kibi means millet, a type of grain. It references „kibi dango“, millet dumplings, which Momotaro uses to befriend a dog, a monkey and a pheasant on his journey to the island of Onigashima. These dumplings are said to enhance the team's strength. To an extent, the entire Wano arc is a parallel to Momotaro's story.

However, it isn't always kibi dango that Momotaro carries as travel rations. In stories from the Genroku era (late 1600ish), the story had Momotaro carrying tō dango (とう団子, "ten-count dumplings"). See Wikipedia for reference: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Momotarō#Dumpling,_kindling,_animals

Tō dango are made by piercing the dango with a thread, making them look like a bead necklace. Now what is bead in japanese? Interestingly enough, it's 玉 (“Tama”).

Second piece of evidence:
The name is just odd in and of itself. As Tama stated in chapter 914, her dumplings have no nutritional properties. If they were, in fact, made from millet, they would have to be nutritious though, as is the case for all food-based Paramecia fruits we've seen. Examples of this are Perospero's candy and Cracker's biscuits. If it was called Dango Dango no Mi, the name would at least be sufficiently descriptive of what Tama is doing (aka producing dumplings).

As of now, the Kibi Kibi no Mi is the only Devil Fruit producing a food that isn't food. This makes it, in a way, unique.

Footnote: In contrast to Sugar's Hobi Hobi no Mi, Tama's control over animals does not seem to cease when she faints in chapter 912. Similiarly, after Kaido intercepted Speed and Tama in chapter 923, Speed retains her loyalty despite her master being unconscious.

Conclusion:
If the WG went out of their way to rename a specific devil fruit, surely they also downplayed the powers of this fruit. Imagine the Kibi Kibi no Mi's entry in the Devil Fruit encyclopedia like this: “This fruit allows the user to produce millet dumplings without any nutritional properties.” Who in their right mind would give up their ability to swim to produce dumplings that don't even quell hunger? The whole thing checks out somehow.

Question 2: What is the true name of the Kibi Kibi no Mi?

See the pinned post by @tired osprey. The Kibi Kibi no Mi's true name is Tsuki Tsuki no Mi, the Moon Moon Fruit. What oTama pops off her cheek is not kibi dango, but rather tsukimi dango, dumplings eaten during the mid-autumn moon-viewing festival. Go read the theory, it's amazing. For the sake of readability I'll still refer to it as Kibi Kibi no Mi for the time being.

Footnote: In chapter 973, the song Hiyori is playing to Oden is called “moon princess”. Oden loves it and asks to have it played at his funeral – which Hiyori never attended. I believe this to be a foreshadowing to the Kibi Kibi no Mi. In the same chapter, Oden advises his retainers to seek out Zou when “that day comes”. Well here we are in chapter 1037, Zou seeking out the retainers. And the party after Kaido's defeat is, at the same time, Kozuki Oden's funeral and Wano's (re-)birth.

Question 3: What's the deal with the Kibi Kibi no Mi and how did Tama get her hands on it?

We've never seen where and how Tama acquired the Kibi Kibi no Mi. As to why that is, I'll redirect you to another theory first, namely the “Tenguyama Hitetsu = Kozuki Sukiyaki”-theory by JubaTheTuba:

We'll go forward assuming they are, indeed, the same person. The following segment is entirely based on this premise and therefore highly speculative.

I suspect Sukiyaki at some point in time getting behind Orochi's sinister plan. Maybe he noticed he's getting poisoned and got an antidote from Tsuru, idk. He then proceeded to fake his death and make an escape, as his daughter Hiyori would do 25 years later. Sukiyaki, though, didn't leave before taking the most important national treasure of Wano, the Kibi Kibi no Mi, with him. The fruit was stored in the basement Brook mentioned in chapter 934, sporting a “firm door”, a non-road Poneglyph and a bunch of Kokeshi dolls. Kaido built his castle during the five years Oden danced, so even if he managed to open this room during construction, the fruit would've been gone by then.

This fruit was safeguarded by the Kozuki for centuries. It has to be available when JoyBoy reappears, so it mustn't leave Wano. Finding it outside of Wano would be quite impossible, considering leaving the country is forbidden even for members of the Kozuki family.

Said Poneglyph contains the story of the “unbreakable pact” between the Minks and the Kozuki that Inuarashi and Nekomamushi mentioned in their flashback in chapter 963. Oden also commented on this pact, calling it “a powerful bond” in chapter 973. The fact that the entire Mink tribe would've given their lifes to keep Raizo safe (chapter 816) is further evidence of their unbreakable allegiance to the Kozuki clan. The Kibi Kibi no Mi is an integral part of said story.

Why did Sukiyaki give the fruit to Tama of all people, though? I'm not gonna argue that Tama is a Kozuki, even though it might be. Rather, I guess Sukiyaki knew that when “that time” comes, there has to be someone wielding the Kibi Kibi no Mi. With Momonosuke and Hiyori being absent, the only possibility left was to groom a new “moon princess”.

Here ends the part that depends on Hitetsu being Sukiyaki. The following ideas do work based solely on the assumption that the Kibi Kibi no Mi is, in fact, the Tsuki Tsuki no Mi.

Let's backtrack for a second to oli's theory: They suspected the Kibi Kibi no Mi to be able to turn Minks into Sulong regardless of the phase of the moon. I'll expand on this and argue the Kibi Kibi no Mi is also capable of commanding Sulong-Minks that have lost their sentience and succumbed to fighting frenzy.

In chapter 889 it was established that unless a Mink attained mastery of the Sulong form they will fight friend and foe alike until dying from exhaustion. In chapter 1027 Nekomamushi warns Carrot not to look at the moon and covers his eyes despite having turned into Sulong form a minute ago to defeat Perospero. From this, we can conclude that a even an experienced Mink might attack allies while in Sulong form when there are no enemies present.

This may give us a hint towards what exactly the Minks and the Kozuki bonded about. Perhaps it was a previous user of the Kibi Kibi no Mi that calmed the Minks while they all went haywire and threatened to eradicate their own existence. Interacting with Minks, though, might be a power for which the Kibi Kibi no Mi has to be awakened.

All that being said, there's a few questions remaining:

A) Why didn't Sukiyaki reveal himself in the 5-year-period between Oden's reappearance and the Legendary Hour?
My only guess here is that Sukiyaki didn't believe in Oden overpowering Kaido. Maybe he lost faith in his son after seeing his crotch, like almost all citizens of Wano did. Maybe he deemed it too dangerous to appear, as him being discovered would potentially leave the Kibi Kibi no Mi unguarded. I'll admit this to be the biggest hole in my theory, feel free to fill it with your own ideas.

B) How does all this connect to the Gorosei's conversation?
In the japanese release, Gorosei Gorbatschow uses the term 覚醒 (“kakusei”) when exclaiming that specific devil fruit hadn't awakened in centuries. That term has been used to describe a Devil Fruit awakening like Kidd's and Law's. As we've speculated before, an awakened Kibi Kibi no Mi might be able to command Sulong-Minks.
All that being said, it is but one line that we are missing for the Gorosei's conversation to make perfect sense. That line goes something like “By the way, with the SMILEs flipping on Kaido and a bunch of Sulong-Minks fighting for the Kozuki heir, is this possibly that devil fruit's doing?”, to which Gorbatschow replies: “Impossible! Even to us, that fruit is but a legend!” From the WG's perspective, a bunch of Sulongs retaining their sentience ought to be a pretty unexpected development, thus wrongly attributing it to the awakening of the Kibi Kibi no Mi instead of the actual full moon.

C) Why did the Kibi Kibi no Mi become an enigma even to the World Government?
Well, not because the fruit reincarnated only on Wano, but because it has been locked in the Kozuki's basement for 800 years, given that Hitetsu is indeed Sukiyaki. If he's not, maybe the fruit indeed looked weak enough for nobody to eat it in centuries – and those who did maybe didn't have the guts to forcefeed their dango to wild beasts. Another hole, I'll admit.

One thing I feel has yet to be explained is why the focus on the fruit's name specifically.
I understand the Elders's final lines as such :
"That fruit is a legend. It doesn't exist.

  • Oh yeah ? Well if it's not real why did we have its name changed to a fake one ?
  • That's because we needed the original name to be erased from history."
    As in, even if the fruit is pure fiction, we still need to erase its name because we don't want the name itself to be known at all.
    To me, none of the possibilities that have been proposed so far have been able to explain why a fruit's name by itself could be a threat to the World Government.

I'd like to add Zunesha to this. The former user of the kibi kibi no mi is the one that sentenced Zunesha to walk for an eternity. The gurosei knows from the legends that the fruit and Zunesha are associated, so they would naturally talk about the devil fruit after hearing the reports of Zunesha arriving in Wano.

I agree on Zunesha being sent strolling by the Kibi Kibi no Mi, directive being something like: "You will not stop wandering until the one who inherited my will commands you otherwise." I don't think you need devil fruits to inherit wills as evidenced by Roger and Luffy, so that heir is momo.
I guess when Momo left Zunesha after their lengthy conversation he told her to keep around Wano until he commands her to act, which we see now. Not sure about the Gorosei already being aware of her though.

So from rereading chapter 463 I think I understand that Moria's power (regarding zombies) comes in two parts, which are 1) the ability to move shadows around and implant them into other bodies, and 2) the ability to have the resulting zombies obey his orders.
Once implanted, shadows stick to their new bodies without needing Moria's power holding them inside. That's just their new body now. His power is only responsible for having the zombies obey his orders. Therefore if you knock out/kill Moria, the zombies will stop obeying him forever, but they won't come back to their original body by themselves.
All this to say that I think Moria's power is still deactivated completely when he dies. As in all "active effects" are removed.

while this may seem silly, I can kind of see this happen. One thing I think will happen is that after Luffy defeats Kaido or during the fight, Kaido will tell Luffy about taking on the role of Joy boy and how he tried to do it and failed and if Luffy wins, he could "joy boy". I can see Luffy refusing to take the role of joy boy cause despites all the hints, Luffy dont care and he just wants to have his own adventure. So i have a theory that ive been deciphering within the words being said in the panels of chapter 1037 as i know that oda loves his wordplays at times this theory does'nt nessesarily have evidence involved but more if the conversation was actually talking about the fruits true name the whole time. it does bring another lense about how we see the conversation as well. im also really open to discussion about this.

so, what if the panel goes like this

"that fruit(the fruits true name) is nothing but a legend,even for us"<--- (because the true name is WHAT the legend is(not its untrue name),even for them!) , "its hasnt awankened for centuries"
soo what if they just found out the true name of that fruit and now they know its real name and they ask the question
"how else do you explain the world govt giving a specifc devil fruit a unique name?!" <--- why would they even ask that question in the first place if they JUST realized that the fruit is nothing but a legend!
and the last panel is the answer <----- They were hiding the fruits true name from the annals of history?!"

Referring to when the Gorosei mentioned a Fruit lost to History, I want to bring up the fact the Gorosei we're talking about everything around the time the Reverie happened and at that same point in time Shanks also came to visit them to warn them about a Pirate.

Now there isn't very many Pirates at this point in time we can consider ASIDE from Blackbeard BUT there's a chance he could've went and seen them about Kidd. The Gorosei weren't talking about a Fruit Awakening that happened during Wano but a Fruit Awakening well before Wano happened. That's why one thought it was legend, another said it's been century and the other said "THEN WHY DID THE GOVERNMENT CHANGE IT'S NAME TO WIPE IT FROM HISTORY"

Meaning this was a Fruit Awakening they were told about by a 3rd party. Possibly Shanks and if Kidd had awakened his DF before he even reached Wano it could've been during his fight with Shanks.

Law has a Fruit that gives Eternal Life, I wouldn't be surprised if Kidd's Fruit had some Legendary Status abilities when Awakened.

The only issue is the dialogue points to just now learning about the fruit while Shanks would have told them about the details of the fruit when he met them.
