Secondly, they don’t look too different for it to be outside of possibility. While this is fanart, it still is in Kid’s likeness, and is very good for the same pose Buggy is in (that gets compared to rocks)
(I found a much better picture)
They clearly share the same mouth, and hair. And while their eyes are slightly different, as they don’t have such prominent eyelashes, they do both have a dark line to them
Furthermore, both Rocks and Kid shared a similar personality. They are both brash, loud mouthed, and willing to get into fights freely, regardless of the opponent is strong or weak.
There was also a WACK theory I had a few years ago that Buggy could have been related to Kid in some way
Due to the fact that they both made the same faces, wore makeup, and Kid was PISSED when he found out Buggy was a yonko. But it was more of a joke theory, and I never truly believed it.
But now that Buggy is almost certainly Rocks’s son, the chances of it happening have increased dramatically. Could Buggy possibly be Kid’s uncle?
Let me know what you think.
@sacred dirge @final bloom @open kiln
How is kid related in any way shape or form to rocks?
Scroll up literally one message Jochacho🥀🥀🥀
I remember I saw about this topic back in #anime
That BM and bonney are related
Well that didn’t go well… 😅😅
Yes Bonney is most likely the daughter of Shamrock
But that’s an entirely DIFFERENT theory
So many people say this one
What is it all about anyway, can you fill me up with this one dude?
Of course, I usually only stick to Kid theories, but I’ll do my best
Theories explained by Evelne
Bonney is Shamrock’s daughter
For starters, Oda drew all of the supernova if they were gender swapped, including Bonney. In this, she looked VERY similar to Shanks, or also, possibly, Shamrock.
Bonney’s mother, Ginney, was SA’d by a celestial dragon. While it is unknown what family specifically, it is also possible the family was of the figarlands, and therefore Shamrock.
Bonney is heavily Irish inspired, having her name be inspired by that of an Irish pirate, named Anne Bonney. Shamrock, obviously, shares this Irish connection, as the Shamrock leaf is typically associated with Ireland in almost every piece of media.
Bonney and Shamrock are both currently present in Elbaf, and a future meeting is highly likely.
Here’s a much better picture to show what I mean by their similarities
Like this one, although still have some doubts about it for whatever reason
But anything is possible for sure hehe
Well the monkey d doesn’t look like each other at all so..
cook...
So what's the point?
Kidd is a follower of Xebec or maybe someone related by blood?
Probably related by blood
It’s a bit disappointing honestly. Part of what made Kid so cool was that he didn’t have any special blood, or clan, or god fruit. He was just THAT GUY
True I agree shamrock is the father it's almost obvious from sbs
I felt some relief when it's shamrock not some ugly CD but still we don't know completely about him
What could the reasoning be for mentioning that theyre the father of BB and then not mention kid then?
I see
I haven’t read the chapter, did they even confirm that Rocks was BB’s father? Or was it just so obvious that everyone knew
And the likely answer is that Rocks had a ton of kids
Ah, I see, thanks.
Well, like i said, he probably had a lot of kids. He’s almost certainly related to Buggy, and there was no mention of that, so Kid is also within the realm of possibility
Wait why is rocks related to buggy i saw someone mention that but havent seen anything to back it up
Buggy looks exactly like rocks, their wanted poster is the same expression, and “xebec” in Vietnamese literally translates to “buggy”
TL;DR: Morganeers are Davy Jones fans
I think a "Davy Jonesian pirate" is Oda's new term for the kind of greedy, plundering, stereotypical pirate that he called a Morganeer back in the Romance Dawn one-shots
he'll probably introduce a new term for a Peacemain as well, maybe something like "Joyboyian"
-# although the -ian suffix could just be a result of TCB so maybe its more accurate to say:
-# • Morganeers are Davy Jones fans
-# • Peacemains are JoyBoy fans
Or possibly he had only one child who's BB because it was explicitly mentioned that BB is Xebec's child and buggy is just like that to make the story more complicated
Possibly! I find it unlikely, but until it’s confirmed, it’s just a theory
But it'll be really interesting if in the end it gets revealed that buggy comes from a famous family like rocks or something else.
I agree, Buggy’s always failed upwards. Especially since it’s possible Rocks HAD the chop chop fruit
Man everything is getting revealed slowly after every chapter. It really feels like that we're in the last saga
We definitely are. It’s very nice to see everything slowly wrapping up to a close
Hmm have we seen the awakened chop chop fruit yet? Could it be not only chopping the user but also surrounding area
Yeah what would be the awakening power of the chop chop fruit
Probably being able to either split apart OTHER matter, or being able to split yourself down to the molecular level
Then what if after awakening buggy splits someone's body💀
get this man a true
No way bro stated that 6 years ago
I'm actually very doubtful on any blood relation, but I do think there's a clear chance for another theory-- Eustass Kid knows of Rocks, and feels positively inspired by him.
That's the extent of their connection I will hold, for now.
If we just take a look at Kid, he actually has always had a comprehensive understanding on worldly figures. Moreso than much of the Straw Hats.
During Sabaody, Kid entered the archipelago already being well acquainted with Celestial Dragons and how the world operates.
Meanwhile, the Straw Hats were experiencing celestial dragons, slaves, and auction shops as if it was their first time out in the big bad world.
Moreover, Kid could also recognize Silvers Rayleigh merely by face, and revered him for his reputation, calling him a living legend.
It's very likely that if Kid knows Rocks, he would percieve him positively as well. Even moreso than Rayleigh, given his crimes targetting Celestial Dragons which Kid finds to be so scummy.
Moving on, Kid also knew of all four Yonko before heading into the New World, and was the first character to ever drop the name "Big Mom".
He was even already well aware with Doflamingo's connection to Kaido, as well as Big Mom's possession of a road poneglyph.
Not to mention the Burn Scarred man most recently, too.
If Kid knows of Rocks, despite only being a recent, young pirate of 23 years old, then how? The main way I figure he would know about him is if it was from someone else that knew Rocks, and spoke about him.
And guess which currently alive pirate knew Rocks, and also has similarities with Kid? That would be Loki.
I believe this could tie into my theory of Loki having met Kid, and that's how Kid learnt the tale of Rocks. Due to Loki, Kid would be another generation of a pirate that's been inspired and indoctrinated into the will of Rocks.
#manga-theories message
Rocks' and Loki's dream are to become "King of The World".
As for Kid? It's shown how in his backstory, HE was the one that said he didn't want to be holed up in such a tiny place, whether he conquered his own country or not.
And KID was the one that originally spun upon the mindset of becoming a pirate to his gang friends, in order to satisfy the void of the confined world he was in. I think Kid being the catalyst of this big career shift for his gang friends can really help prove Kid had some sort of fateful encounter with a "King of The World"-inspired pirate. Thereby giving him an indirect relation to Rocks.
That could be the reason why like you say, Kid was influenced to have similar clothing, arm bracelets before the time-skip, and even slowly amending his hairstyle compared to when he was a child.
Someone even pointed out how Punk Rotten's skull design could be a homage to Rocks' eye marking.
If this theory turns out true, then It'd make perfect sense for a flashback with child Kid to have a time-skip into teenagehood (which is when his pirating canonically began), and we can clearly see his amended design was a result of the Rocks inspirations he'd heard earlier.
If it wouldn't have been clear enough to the average reader, then they'd certainly put two & two together from there.
Generally, I definitely believe Kid has been made knowledgeable about the world in order to continue conveniencing his future plots of the story.
It's always been a blessing that Kid doesn't question every little thing and desire exposition like the Straw Hats.
It's been made as such because I believe he's simply going to continue diving right in to bigger things he's meant to be connected to, like Burn Scar.
And if aspects regarding Rocks end up becoming significant again in the present-story, then of course him too. I doubt he'd have somehow missed the memo on him. Especially when he's always clued in on big figures.

When Mihawk first saw Zoro’s Three Sword Style, he looked… uneasy. Strange, right? Why would the World’s Strongest Swordsman react that way to some moss head who, back then, wasn’t even strong?
Now here’s where it gets interesting.
In the SBS, Oda revealed that Zoro’s father is Roronoa Arashi "Arashi" meaning storm in Japanese. And guess what? The very episode where Mihawk is introduced is also titled Storm.
Oda also mentioned that Zoro’s father was killed by a mysterious and incredibly powerful pirate.
So, what if Mihawk was the one who k*lled Zoro’s father?
Or he was friends with zoros father.
That would explain a lot. When Mihawk saw Zoro, maybe those memories resurfaced. And maybe, just maybe, that's why Mihawk who never trains anyone chose to train Zoro.
Just a Theory!
it’s not a perfect match but so far, the major D clan members we’ve seen all have an affinity for trying to recruit people they find interesting on a whim (Blackbeard, Luffy, Xebec, Roger). With Xebec stating he’s a davy jonesian pirate, Could the Will of D. (D.avy) be some latent power to bring people together? Recall that during marineford, mihawk said that luffy had the most “formidable power of all” when refering to his power to bring people together.
When Whitebeard was discussing the Will of D., he mentioned One Piece in the same statement, implying that "D." and the One Piece are connected by more than just Roger.[26] This was not the only time that both were mentioned in the same chapter: Usopp and Robin asked Rayleigh about One Piece, the Void Century, and the Will of D., all within one conversation. Additionally, it was when they found Joy Boy's treasure on Laugh Tale that the Roger Pirates learned the meaning of D.
Long shot but i’n thinking that the One Piece could be Davy Jones’ Locker. In what form this could take i’m not sure. Davy Jones Locker is supposed to be the final resting place for sailors so maybe it’s the preserved remains of Joyboy’s ship and crew and all they had to offer. With, Oda it could be also be a literal locker lol
Do yall think rocks is an “evil/bad” character? I think Oda has misled us for over 2 decades that rocks was so bad that it took Roger and garp to team up together to beat him. But from what we’ve seen from the last two chapters, rocks is more like luffy and roger in that he’s reckless but a bit like dragon in that he wants to bring the gov down. I want to think that rocks’s plan is similar to luffy and roger dream
Theory: Gaon cannon is a weaker version of the ancient weapon pluton battleship's cannon, and the sunny will beecome the ancient weapon pluton again
Theory: Buggy the Clown’s father is Rocks D Xebec, if you translate Buggy’s name into Vietnamese, it would translate to Xe Bec, it was obviously but I wanted to point it out
Guys i have a theory hear me out
So we know that in the fishman island we met madam sharley who predicted whitebeards death and other important things and she also predicted that luffy will destroy the fishman island so my theory is that it will happen but instead of luffy its gonna be caterina devon of blackbeard pirates shes gonna change into luffy and destroy the fishman island since they already have a reason to do so they will know the existence of poseidon ancient weapon from caribou
I think they gonna use ancient weapon to nuke holy land Which fishman island underneath and will be destroyed in cross fire and they will use Noah to escape the flood of fire
This would also create the all blue naturally when all the seas come together there

'''Bonney is heavily Irish inspired, having her name be inspired by that of an Irish pirate, named Anne Bonney. Shamrock, obviously, shares this Irish connection, as the Shamrock leaf is typically associated with Ireland in almost every piece of media."
This is the only part that makes sense.
Why do you doubt a blood relation?
Is there simply just not enough evidence for it, or is it too far-fetched to say just yet?
Well, the other parts make sense too. Bonney DOES look just like Shanks in her genderswap
And we KNOW that Ginney concieved a child at the hands of a celestial dragon. Is it more likely to be the man whom Bonney almost certainly IS going to encounter this arc, or is it more likey that it was just some random, no-name celestial, who fathered one of the most important characters?
I saw this thoery on tiktok, i dont really take tiktok theories serious but this one got my attention
if you want to see it personally the account is @captain.nika
It starts off with "During the Void Century, twenty kindoms united under Imu to destroy the most advanced kingdom in history, Joyboy was from there and his people were the ancestors of the D Clan we know today.
After the war, the survivors were captured except for a few of the D families like the Nefertari, who managed to survive. They were the ancestors of D's like Garp, Roger, and Luffy
But the ones who got caught? What happened to them?
Remember when Robin talked about Davy Jones - the man cursed by a demon, forced to live at the bottom of the sea? What if that "demon" was IMU? We've already seen her make pacts and cursing Zunesha to walk for eternity
Now think about this, a synonym for the sea floor is the Abyss, Just like the gorosei and holy knights use to travel, but what if its more than a way of traveling?
What if the abyss is actually a huge place that works like the Nether in Minecraft(sounds goofy but can be true) and can also be used to travel faster by going through it. And just like its name suggests, it would be under the sea floor, under the eart, just like hell. Knowing IMU can be a demon
And Imu would've used the Abyss to imprison the people they captured after the war against the Great Kingdom, and Davy Jones was curseed to be their Eternal Warden.
Now here's the twist. In chapter 1155 we learn Xebec admired Davy Jones. Why? How would he even know him enough to admire him? Now what if Xebec wasn't born on Earth, but in the abyss?
He would be a D coming from the ancestors that were imprisoned in the abyss and was born there, going through hell all his youth, and that's why he showed incredible strength and haki during the reverie even though he was still young
When he was in the Abyss, he was akways talking with Davy Jones, and looked up to him, One day, for an unkown reason, Davy Jones let Xebec leave the Abyss and that's why Xebec admires him. That would mean Xebec and Blackbeard descend from the D's that were captured and locked in the Abyss and that's why they're more evil than Luffy, Roger, and the other D's who come from the ones who escaped Imu's wrath"
I think God Valley is the Thriller Bark Island, and the Legendary Treasure Island, where Gaimon and the hybrid animals are, were where the devil fruits were taken to after God Valley
i love the idea of a hati and skoll devil fruit, consumed by loki
At least for me, the ideal route to go for when it comes to theories is to not high-ball the wager too extreme. After considering and gathering all the evidence we do have between Kid and Rocks, I just didn't end up seeing a blood-tie to be likelier than general knowledge of him, and inspiration.
That's why I concluded on the route of being inspired indirectly (kudos to a live-pirate such as Loki), as opposed to a more direct relation to Rocks like Loki or Blackbeard have.
There's also Oda going out of his way to hinder Kid's chances a bit, with only including Blackbeard as Rocks' official future lineage via the narrator in chapter 1154. As well as Kid not carrying the same surname, not being a D., and unknowing if Rocks ever had something to do with the South Blue.
For the start of this theory we would want to say that the way bb got white beards power is buy eating his heart or smth so What if the reason Blackbeard wants to kill law is to eat his heart (get his fruit) or smth then carve out peoples hearts like he did with Caesar and carve out a chunk of his body or smth and put it in 🫣
I mean BB didn't know who would come to his route but it's likely that he would have tried to steal the df of whoever showed up
You are a One Piece prophet
I've commented last week that I think Buggy is part of the D.
I might be true. 🤣
There are tons of theories saying ringed eyes are indicators of dual/ a plethora of souls, and the colour could possibly determine the control of the souls.
Zunesha and Cavendish (when Cavendish and Hakuba are awake) — have blue eyes and don’t have control over their bodies, suggesting blue ringed eyes show the control of the secondary soul over the primary soul that initially hosted the body.
Kaido, Mythical Zoan — Zoans have a soul or will of their own, so I guess whilst drunk, the soul of the Zoan attempted to override Kaido's body, but Kaido still had control over his soul.
Impel Down: Jailer Beasts — The soul of the Zoans overrode the soul of the soul of the fruit bearer, so the fruit bearer has ZERO control of their body, and the Zoan soul haw COMPLETE control of the body, turning them into the weird creatures, 'mindless zombies' if you will
Mihawk — swords also have souls of their own, and it could show the sync between Mihawk and Yoru (one of the only two black blades in the series so far and the strongest blade). I guess its red because, like Enma, Mihawk would’ve needed to tame or control Yoru, and he did — which I guess is why the eyes are red.
Zoro — the scar could’ve been from the soul of the Wado Ichimonji during the timeskip, and if I recall correctly, when Zoro met the “grim reaper” at the end of Wano, it had a glowing left eye (the eye Zoro doesn’t have), which could suggest that it’s an incarnation of the soul of one of his swords (Enma or the Wado Ichimonji?). That could be a mid-way, initial, or final ritual for Zoro to sync with one of his blades (likely Wado) fully, possibly making him one step closer to unlocking a black blade maybe?
Addressing BB multiple souls theories — His eyes are normal because:
¹same thing as Cavendish? And the reason he doesn't sleep is because he doesn't want to release (one of) the other souls.
²the souls are fully SUPRESSED inside of him/ are dormant kinda like Kaido with his df
||repost||
Wait what if we get a flashback for Loki’s hammer where enel came died to Loki and he fed his hammer the rumble fruit and that’s why it can summon lightning
can anyone give me the best theories you've all accumulated in having a high chance of happening.
TL;DR: Ringo hero could be Gecko Moria
Gecko Moria is a surprisingly valid candidate for being the hero born in West Blue and raised in Ringo.
• We know he was born in the West Blue so that part checks out
• He knew where Wano was and seemingly knew about Ryuma, so thats some additional points (though obviously not decisive proof) for him potentially being raised in the region
• He fought against Kaido, which at the time would likely be seen as a heroic act of rebellion, considering the country wouldve JUST been taken over by them
Honestly the only hiccup here seems to be them thinking Moria died when he actually didnt, but tbf they didnt seem to think Moria was the one who robbed Ryumas grave, so it could add up if they simply assumed he died at Kaidos hands. Plus he seemingly left his sword behind at some point, so that sword couldve been used as the gravemarker if he lost it in that fight
Im not saying hes the most likely candidate obviously but it is interesting how well he fits as a candidate at least
oh and im not saying he stayed in Wano up until fighting Kaido, im saying he couldve returned to his "homeland" (Wano not West Blue) to fight its new oppressor and then after his humiliating defeat, fled with his regions national treasure
Rocks is actually a decent person not good or bad just wanted to take over the world
I'm not against Buggy being revealed as Xebec's other kid but with what you've mentioned, I don't see any real substance in the possibility of Buggy and Kid being related, I wouldn't even bet on them having encountered each other before but if you find more evidence I'd be down to see it
Scary red lady friend, look up
moria theory 😭 ill read later im sorry

Let’s be real he knows how the system works and knows how corrupt most of them are and I never said he was good the admiral is what u could consider collateral damage at this point he clearly isn’t as bad as the navy let him out to be also he didn’t really show any disrespect towards his men although we still don’t know enough yet
you wanna be apart of a crew where they would kill each other on the same ship?
Have u guys seen the theory about xebec and buggy
Basically Xe Béc in Vietnamese means Buggy
okay I'm bout to do a hear me out moment but hear me out Rember when Luffy and Zoro said that black beard has to different personality's or something like that then that would fit in perfectly that xebec is controlling black beard his son but the thing is how Tho then this is when my theory starts clicking the same way imu controlled gunko xebec probably did the same thing again this ties in perfectly because we saw that xebec made it to the flower room and told imu he is talking his place so xebec could've maybe stole a part of imu powers or the abyss allowing him to control people then rocks releaised he cant beat imu or atleast dident defeat imu he decided to get more power to defeat imu for good and take this place that he need to become more powerful and when we saw rocks and he did that sicciors pose he could have used the ope ope no mi to be able to cut that mountain so rocks decided to use to immortality surgery on black beards body his son using the ope ope no mi and then controlling black beard but this part is going to be about plot cause oda has to
make luffy take revenge and kill black beard for ace so i think because rocks is controlling black beard black beards body isn't like fully immortal and right now as I'm typing this in I'm pretty sure that Luffy and Zoro said that black beard has 3 personalities so ima add something to my theory what if Davy jones is black beards third personality i mean that could fill in the missing spout for the 3 personalities and that would also prove that the dark fruit is like mythical zoan hito hito no mi type Davy jones and even more evidence for this theory is that we heard that whoever eats the devil fruit carry's on the original owners will like Bartolomeo he had a different personality before he ate the fruit and after he ate the fruit back to the theroy we also heard about black beard that he dosent sleep probably because he has multiple personalities or the immortality surrgery went wrong not aht we finnly are done..... nah we still gotta keep going ima talk about final war
any ways that entire big essay a wrote up there yea no not there there anyways time for more theory .......help.
so what i think this will play in the final war of one piece is that we see black beard/davy jones/xebec fight imu one on one for the title of conqerour of the world im thinking imu would have a good match but closer when the fight is ending Luffy and the crew will step in and come with basically the entirety of the friends Luffy has made from each island and then all fight against the world government and I'm thinking that it will be imu and the 5 elder stars with all the admirals and fleet admins and vice admirals will go up against black beard/ xebec/davy jones and luffy and every pirate he has met who is nice and has plot and all of his freinds and all the yonkos basicly every one will come and fight in one place im thinking this will all happen on raftell Luffy would have found the one piece and and by the time he is there he should be comparable to imu
with the power of whats in the one peice also this is just a geuss that luffy will find a note from roger explaing the void century then luffy will see the fight on raftell i mean imu should want to destroy the one piece and kill luffy and his crew so we see luffy and the crew vs imu and gorrosei and then latter xebex/blackbeard/davy jones come in and fight them then we see in the distiance all of luffy followers come in and help in the battle later affter the war ends we see this suddenly after imu is defeated black beard/xebec/davy jones and im teird of saying that anyways black beard takes over and stabs luffy while luffy is weakened by the fightthen the tradigy oda talked about happens black beard goes and treis to kill every one then before he can the crew step up and fight him but they all weakend so they lose but they do some damage anyways luffy steps up luffy watched this happen and luffy goes nuts he now wants to kill him and only him this rage engulllfs luffy and luffy goes beyond gear 5 which the final key to the answer on how to stop the cycle and defeat all evil luffy fights him one on one boom black beard dies luffy becomes king and now thats what i call peak fiction and before i go yes i typed all of this by hand took me like 40 min so please read it and give me creadit for it please
"can anyone give me the best theories you've all accumulated in having a high chance of happening" @tame mason
Much of the highest effort, most comprehensive theories are contained within the pinned message of this channel. You can also see it the message I've now replied to.
Zoro/kuina vs mihawk theory
So we all know that ringed eyes means there is 2 souls in the body, as we all know kuina died ‘’ from falling off the stairs ‘’ which in Japan’s culture means she unalived her self, in some cultures that means she goes to hell, in wano after defeating king, zoro became the king of hell once he became king of hell which symbolising he conquered hell which led to a mysterious figure appearing resembling death, I believe that’s kuina’s soul merging with zoro/Wado Ichimon I blieve that’s why oda kepts his eye closed so when he and kuina soul awaken awhile he fights mihwak thats where he will open his other eye wich will be ringed just like mihawk, I also blieve that just like how the first fight ended with zoro losing his other two swords and being left with Wado Ichimon i think he will be in the same situation at the end of his fight with mihwak mirroring each other but this time zoro will win and both him and kuina will fulfill their childhood promise/dream.
I think in this arcs backstory piece we gonna see enel die to Loki and him feed his df to his hammer and that’s why it can summon lighting
Theory: Koushirou murdered his daughter Kuina since he is confirmed to be misogynistic and says that women can't be good swordsmen, and since he found a good successor (Zoro) he didn't need her anymore
Koushirou was also smiling and gladly gave Zoro Kuina's sword with no hesitation, chances are he will be a major character in the future
Garp, Roger, and Rocks were a trio like Luffy, Ace, and Sabo when they were kids. We know that Garp and Roger were both from the East Blue, but have no evidence of where Rocks is from. They could've been raised together, even if for a short time like a few years where they each set out goals for themselves. Maybe them making their own crews or joining the Marines was a result of events that happened when they were young. Each of them seeing the achievements of the other could've driven them to become stronger
The one piece is the lowering of the sea level uniting all island creating freedom
mural that resembles the Harley Scriptures can’t be a coincidence. After scanning the mural, I noticed known references to the Ancient Weapons, and Franky’s placement stands out, especially considering he once held the blueprints to Pluton. It feels intentional. As a cyborg, it’s hard to believe he would forget something so crucial. His memory and construction skills are part of who he is. On top of that, his bounty poster once featured the Thousand Sunny instead of his face, a detail that’s often brushed off as a joke but could actually hint at something deeper. The government may have deliberately shown the ship because he is Pluton or because the ship itself may become Pluton. Either way, it’s a quiet warning. There are two directions I can see this going.
A) Franky eventually turns himself into Pluton to defeat Imu, a last stand that would cost him his life. This would align with Oda’s past statement that one of the Straw Hats will die.
B) Franky teams up with Iceberg to build a new version of Pluton, modified with modern tech, since the original lies dormant beneath Wano. But with Vegapunk’s warning that the world is going to sink, it’s possible they won’t even be able to access it in time.
Could it be that the Giants built Pluto?
The ancient giant builders of Elbaf may have created Pluton, as they possessed legendary skills and had ties to the Void Century. While they aren't direct ancestors of the Galley-La Company, their techniques may have influenced later shipwright traditions. They were likely frozen for knowing too much, and Pluton's massive scale aligns with their strength and craftsmanship.
Lately, I've been wrestling with an idea about the possibiltiy that the One Piece could be a spaceship capable of leaving the planet and terraforming it. It sounds ridiculous until you consider the fact that the ancient kingdom was highly advanced. Like, terrifyingly advanced. Everything Vegapunk makes is a pale imitation of the void century's inventions by Vegapunk's own admission. And he is the smartest man in the world. Not only that, but I think that the invention of the mother flame is also one of these "poor imitations" of the energy source that Vegapunk was talking about. This energy source could potentially be the fuel for the spaceship.
The reason I think this makes sense is that it would first of all be ridiculous (reason for Roger laughing). It would change everything we know about the One Piece world/turn the world upside down, it would be extremely powerful (probably the most powerful device in the One Piece world), potentially tie into an "impossible dream" of exploring space (this could be Luffy's dream), and could explain how the Red Line, calm belts and Grand Line came to be, as spacefaring civilizations could potentially have the ability to terraform entire ecosystems.
Maybe the ancient kingdom had this technology, came down to earth to share it with everyone so everyone could prosper, but the 20 kingdoms got jealous and power hungry, and decided to seize it for themselves. They then used the knowledge they gathered about terraforming to raise the sea level with strategic uses of Uranus, one of the ancient weapons (just like Imu did with Lelusia). And then used the other ancient weapons to terraform the entire planet, separating people into four blues and a Grand Line so people couldn't all come together.
If it's true, then Roger's words about being "too early" could have hinted at the lack of an energy source to power the spaceship. Perhaps this energy source is Luffy's true power, the power of the sun.
There's also the devil fruits to consider, but botany and genetic mutation of plants are also part of science. It could literally be some sort of fusion between haki and science that created them.
And if the straw hats fly off into space in the last chapter of the story, we will still keep the same general theme of the story without it becoming a space odessy.
Lets not forget that space travel is already canon. We see Enel fly to the moon, and we see space pirates there. Space travel IS confirmed, but no one on the One Piece planet has that capability. Meaning the One Piece could be the inhabiants of this planet's ONLY ties to interplanetary travel.
That makes me think Luffy could have totally said his dream would be to fly among stars in space like being an astronaut or a space pirate, remember the sun is a star, so there's still some good association with sun god Nika here. As you said, I doubt the population in One Piece even believe traveling in space could be a thing. That would explain why everyone laughs at this dream that sounds like only a kid would say.
Lets not forget that the only person who has even mentioned a UFO in the story is Luffy with his Gum Gum UFO move. This could TOTALLY be foreshadowing. (A flying-saucer style UFO also looks like a D and a straw hat btw).
What are the chances that his face matches with luffy exactly with red eyes ?
I think shirahoshi kidnap is next by imu so may be the future prediction may come true if imu looks like luffy or can change form into luffy
(is there somewhere on this discord or somewhere on the internet that does a deep dive on one piece theories but specifically on the topic of luffy's dream as mentioned in chapter 1060? ive been looking for some time now - and i'm bad with tech and finding niche internet discussions - but so far i just keep finding internet trolls and people with (im sorry but) really bad answers like oh its meat or drinks or a feast or freedom - and not really reading further into it... sorry for being a bit rude and a bit condescending and sorry if this isnt the right channel to ask this - so far i'm just searching "luffy's dream" on this discord and flipping through 300 pages of trolls)
(oh and i mean other than the thread pinned in this channel)
guys can yall check my theories out https://discord.com/channels/164970986284777473/1396848436200083486
The thing is, anything that Luffy's dream actually is likely to be is bound to sound ridiculous at this moment in time, because Oda has likely already designed it to sound ridiculous, so it would sound like a "bad theory" to most people even if we're spot on. If that makes sense.
Remember the crew's reactions. Usopp wants Luffy's head to get checked. And he's used to Luffy saying stupid stuff all the time. So it has to be something so unbelievably unachievable that only someone who is already pirate king could possibly hope to even dream of achieving. Which makes me think it's something silly like sailing into space/becoming the king of space. (Not saying it is, but that's my working theory at the moment, given the ancient kingdom's super advanced tech and many other reasons)
Normally, heaven is above and hell is below. Yet when Sabo sees Imu, he declares that "hell is above" (Mariejois) and thus, paradise must be below.
Given Imu’s power, "Reversi", which flips people like tokens on a game board, could it be that Imu has literally flipped the world itself?
Another clue: Reversi is also known as Othello . a reference to Shakespeare’s tragedy where manipulation, betrayal, and a fatal misunderstanding lead to ruin. Could Imu’s story mirror this? A ruler who has inverted reality, turning the world upside down to maintain control?
If so, then finding the One Piece isn’t about treasure , t’s about restoring the world to its rightful state. Like solving a puzzle, the final goal may be to flip everything back, undoing Imu’s grand deception.
This would explain why figures like Roger and Whitebeard spoke of "turning the world upside down" , because, unknowingly, the world already is. The true dream isn’t conquest, but correction.
I think this Theory has potential
thx can u share it
i agree partially to some of the things you say - because i also very much read into the reactions of the other crew members, especially usopp, chopper, robin, and jimbei, but obviously others including ace, shanks, and yamato... i guess i am just irked by the slightly shallow conversations popping up everywhere about how "luffy just wants to be at peace with everyone, make friends, and eat infinite meat with the government"
sure, everyone can have their opinions, and the degree of ridiculousness is quite subjective, despite some being... unpopular. i've been following the manga for what, like twenty five years by now? if luffys dream is to never run out of food then fine, i wont be mad with oda, but im sure there would be some people significantly disappointed in some way
"never run out of food"
It's not that. Usopp says he should forget it because it's impossible in a very strict tone. That doesn't sound like it fits at all
this one is quite interesting. i dont know if it adds or detracts from your theory, but I do think there needs to be the necessary distinction between the physical, tangible object(s) that is the one piece; the concept of luffy's childhood dream, and the ultimate goal or ambition of luffy becoming the pirate king (which i find separate from his "dream" which he hopes to accomplish possibly after having earned the title of king)
The biggest problem I have with this heaven/hell flipped theory is that it's too serious. That's pretty much it. It fits amazingly into the story, don't get me wrong, except for the Roger and his crew laughed so hard they cried part.
uh huh... and then there's that idea that roger and his crew were "too early" to arrive and they needed to wait - i think some people forget about that - idk how that ties into everything
anyways, the original idea i had behind going on this rant was to find people who were as serious about this as i am, or perhaps even more - and i guess this channel serves that purpose quite well for now
It would fit with the whole Vegapunk's dream thing with the lacking energy source IMO (Could have been worded better. Vegapunk's dream is to supply free energy to the entire world like Nikola Tesla, this energy source could be the missing ingredient in making Joy Boy's treasure work). Also, Shirahoshi wasn't born. The ancient weapons could very well be important.
(on an unrelated note, as an occupational pet peeve, i'm very impressed by your commitment to proper english grammar, punctuation, syntax, and format - i just cant be bothered on discord for some reason)
(English was always my favourite subject in school :))
? wym they cried part but thx
So what are the odds Rocks may have gotten Domi Reversi by IMU in god valley
imo i definitely think the UFO theory makes so much sense. and it’s such an interesting treasure. the comic book theory is also interesting. the sake one was okay, but i think the other too are much better.
as to luffy’s and Roger’s dream, my personal theory is that he wants to end piracy. that’s why everyone laughs at them, because why would a pirate want to end piracy? i think it’s because they see piracy as their way of freedom, since it goes against the oppression of the world gov. but if they dismantle it, they would be able to make everyone free, thus getting rid of the need for piracy
Loo
Idk, that doesn't seem likely to me. Why would Luffy become a pirate in order to be the freest man on the seas, proudly proclaiming that he was going to become king of the pirates like it's his job to sell it as a slogan, if he was going to dismantle piracy? Also why would he even think of that when he was a kid? He idolized Shanks, Ace AND Sabo, and they all were either established pirates or aspiring pirates.
Also it sounds like something Akainu would dream of, not Luffy 😛
because that’s the only way dismantling the world gov. and finding the one piece is achievable. the fact that everyone doesn’t buy it or say it makes no sense makes me believe it more. literally the reaction of the crew makes so much sense. it’s goes against everything he’s been wanting
Another piece of evidence that goes against this is that Yamato knows his dream, but he said he was going to join Luffy as a pirate. If Luffy was against piracy, and Yamato knows this, why would he be so excited to become a pirate?
because, again, it’s the only way to achieve that goal. just because he wants to end piracy doesn’t suddenly mean that all pirates are bad or that it’s wrong to be one. being a pirate is what will allow him to dissolve piracy, not because it’s bad, but because it won’t he needed. once the one piece is found and the world gov. has no oppression, piracy has no other meaning to luffy. the advantage of being a pirate will be given to every person because they are all free.
the only other theories i buy for his dream is that he wants to sail the stars, which fit very well with the UFO theory. i’m really hoping the One Piece is a UFO, haha
It just doesn't seem like something a kid would dream up immediately after the other two proclaimed they were going to be pirates. Ace and Sabo's reactions don't line up IMO. I'll give this about a zero to extremely low chance of being true.
I also think the UFO theory would be awesome, but it's also just so compelling as a theory. I mean, it explains everything very neatly. Why people would want the One Piece, why Roger laughed, why he was too early, why the One Piece world looks the way it does, why the ancient kingdom was so technologically advanced. Devil fruits could also just be a scientific wonder of the ancient kingdom.
it doesn’t make sense, it goes against everything he stands for, which is exactly why it makes sense to me. luffy respects these pirates because they instill the sense of adventure and freedom. admirals and marines are the opposite, they suppress everything that luffy cares about
That argument could equally be used to say Luffy's dream is to enslave everyone though. It just doesn't fit with anything we know about Luffy.
an average person doesn’t have what it takes to sail the seas. and most of them are oppressed. with the world gov. gone, any average person can simply pack their bags and go on an adventure without the fear of the marines or other competing pirates. because again, what point is there to be a pirate, if the greatest threat and treasure are both irrelevant? more importantly, everyone is free
Idk, why were Buggy or Alvida pirates? Why was Arlong? Why was Moria a pirate? Why was Kaido a pirate? I highly doubt greed will stop existing just because someone finds the One Piece.
Sorry bruv, but that one's not convincing in the slightest. We have no good reason to think it's true, and I highly doubt the reactions match up at all. Especially Nami saying "that's so like you".
because they wanted something to do with power (which is something relevant to antagonist). other pirates have the goal of finding the one piece. but against, the average person doesn’t have what it takes to find the one piece, go on an adventure, or be free
Exactly, so piracy would still have plenty of reasons to exist even after the One Piece is found.
and you could argue that to the antagonists, but that isn’t what luffy thinks it is to be a pirate, which is why i don’t think that point has much weight. luffy has never used his piracy to control or have power over people. he’s used it to help people and go on adventures. that’s also why he asks the most random people to join their crew. because he wants them to see the joys the world has to offer
I mean, how would Luffy achieve his dream of... ending greed? Is the One Piece a giant brainwashing tool?
Sorry, gonna have to put this in the 0.000001% chance of happening box
If your theory is basically that piracy was always only really an anti oppression tool used by the ancient kingdom to fight against tyranny, I'm going to have to disagree on that one too.
and again, i don’t think the intentions of other people matter as much as his own. saying he wants to end piracy doesn’t mean that other people won’t want to be pirates, or that there’s no more antagonists. for him, piracy represents adventure and freedom. and once the world gov. is dismantled and the oppression is gone, the point is that the world will be free. thus, a person wouldn’t need to become a pirate to sail the sees and experience freedom and adventure
So his dream is to end the need to fly a pirate flag?
i mean it’s more than that but dumbed down and simplified, yeah i guess haha
Guys I think Shanks left Mariejouise because he witnessed a native hunt. It's mentioned that they organize these native hunts every year iirc so Shanks must've participated in one during his time as a celestial dragon. Witnessing such an event probably convinced him to quit being a celestial dragon and become a pirate
This would also be cool writing wise because Shanks was found during a native hunt, and his dad was like really good at it
As far as i know the last hunt was on God Valley and they never did them again afterwards.
(Please correct me if im wrong, thats what i remember)
God Valley incident was 38 Years ago and Shanks is 39, so he would be around one year at the time of the last hunt. I dont know if he would even remember that 🤔
Okay the wiki doesnt mention that they stopped doing them so maybe... 🤔🤔🤔
I mean it'd make sense for them to stop after what happened
but knowing the celestial dragons, they probably wouldn't want to stop since they're so naive. The entire reason God Valley went wrong was because they stole from Hachinosu, so they could just not steal anything and be fine.
true. If they didn't stopped, the last hunt would have been 3 years ago, just before the start of the story according to the wiki. It could become important again if they didn't stop with the tradition
Also I think Shamrock is planning on becoming an elder star too, because he ages unlike the other God Knights. I think God Knights have the option to turn off their eternal youth if they want to become a Gorosei
Question wtf was Roger doing in god valley I understand everyone else going but him back then he was more adventurous than looking for treasure
Hey guys, when I click any theories in the pinned #manga-theories, discord doesn’t ‘jump’ to that theory. Do I need to be at a certain level?
The One Piece is just that, One Piece of treasure that has been molded from many pieces of gold + treasure into One completely unusable piece. Roger's crew laughing, then crying, then laughing again could be because of the irony of the treasure. They laugh because they learned Joy Boy couldn't use/spend the treasure, then cry realizing they can't either, and then they laugh again because they had the same fate of Joy Boy not being able to use his treasure. Also, maybe they were drinking and their emotions swayed with all the booze
So an idea I'm thinking about is Joyboy being Davy Jones and perhaps an ancestor of Rocks. A lot of what I'm thinking is amorphous and I'm trying to word it to get it across.
Now a lot of this comes from the thought of devil fruits being connected to something of a dimension born from collective imagination and perhaps that being the abyss.
I think prior to the events of the void century, devil fruits went by a different name and lacked the restrictions on swimming alongside being destroyed if you have more than one.
I think the fruits were initially something used by slaves in the first world to rebel against the slavers.
That the fruits were something utilized by the rebel slaves would lead to Imu somehow enabling the restrictions in order to bring down Joyboy and the Ancient Kingdom, alongside it bringing about the abyss.
Perhaps the realm of imagination that brought fruits into reality was corrupted into the abyss through Imu taking down Joyboy.
Again I'm still thinking of how to organize everything for this idea and it's very messy right now.
Ultimately I'm imagining a climactic battle in the void century that led to fruit users exploding and drowning all at once.
and how does davy jones tied to all this
I have a long lasting theory about what the one piece may be, i belive it doesnt actually exist.
Oda confirmed it does exists tho
Hear me out, i think the one piece is a dream that is designed to keep the great pirate era alive, roger and whitebeard mentioned the one piece is real when hope was lost and everyone thought the marines had the won (execution and marienford), by doing this they reignite the idea that there is a great treasure out there and this helps pirates rebel against the marines and fight for freedom, which seems to be one of the more underlying themes of one piece. As long as people belive in the one piece, the great pirate era will never end
that is just a theory tho, i dont read the manga and i am on episode 700
what was the treasure? whatever it was, apparently it was no secret? and important enough for roger to b-line to god valley to intercept rocks?
maybe he is trying to create the great pirate era irl lol
I believe its Kaidos Devilfruit. They stole it from the Rocks pirates, made it a prize and Rocks came to take it back. Its the one Item we know was there, and we know its said to be one of the single most powerfull fruits.
I have a feeling that it's not a DF, otherwise why didnt kaido eat it when it was still on hachinosu, or anyone else for that matter
Also the way i understood it is that Roger only went there to fight Rocks. He wasnt there for the treassure i think
that I agree with, otherwise roger would've stolen it himself. if some WG bums could do it, so could he
Davy Jones would be connected to the abyss as the legend has to do with the ocean abyss.
Perhaps the downfall of Joyboy/Davy Jones corrupted the realm of collective imagination into the abyss by Imu in order to enact the restrictions on devil fruits.
Yeah, we know a lot more about what the One Piece is than you would, only being on episode 700. You should hurry up and catch up so you don't theorize blindly.
oof thats a bit mean but ok
whose to say your theories are accurate?
I never really paid attention to Sengoku's goat before, but this video makes an excellent point... And it may give more context to the goat's appearance on the Volume 25 cover.
I mean you could definitely have an accurate theory for the amount you have watched. But theres another 500 episodes to go so maybe some more information will be revealed
it would be interesting if you came to the same conclusion once caught up
But i do find it an interesting theory!
I rather enjoy the "One Piece is a UFO" theory.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OkblxS5G3MA&t=904s&ab_channel=SDPad
yes that makes sense
i got 2 theories on why Blackbeard can have 2+ df's:
-
anyone can just have multiple devil fruits: i think all ppl can have multiple devil fruits even though it is said that a person explodes if he has more than one, reason for this is cuz we haven't seen anyone actually explode all this time which could mean that this is just a Rumor spread by the world govt. and since df's are already rly rare, people can't prove it for themselves, and the way this works is as long as ur devil fruit powers don't overlap with each other (eg. ice fruit and fire fruit can't work together), your body won't explode. this means you can have a max of 1 logia, 1 paramecia, and 1 zoan at once, while keeping in mind that ur powers don't overlap with each other. blackbeard probably knew this from his father who from the looks of it, knew a lot
-
blackbeard was born with multiple body parts: blackbeard was probably born with maybe 2 or 3 hearts or brains (where ever the df power is stored) so this means that he can have 1 fruit for each brain/heart.
theory 1 could make a lot of sense but i think theory 2 is the more likely one, more on theory one i think it could be possible because blackbeard is highly educated on devil fruits and hes insanely smart soooo
theory 2 isn't bad either cuz from oden flashback, buggy said that blackbeard never slept in his life which could mean that he had multiple brains and he kept switching his brains every few hours so he never slept.
yeah but that goes back to drum island, becuase as chopper or whoever said it that people on winter islands never sleep so, that could correlate with blackbeard or i think it canonically does i cant remember this was so long ago
Yall think the actual nika will be part of the story or there is gonna be something bigger than imu
I was actually trying to be considerate xD Yes your theories are fine for being 700 episodes in. But trust me, there is way more to consider that you will learn later.
nah i feel like u got it wrong i don't think there was any mention like that
the real nika will probably be the one who originally got the one piece or smth cuz joyboy is farming way too much lore in comparison to nika
im gonna have to look back and check i cant remember
theory 1 does not make alot of sense since this is a world of pirates who don’t follow rules so i dont understand how only one person has actually had the courage to try it
an interesting theory to me is the possibility that teach’s mother was of a wiped out race that has 3 souls, with them able to carry 3 devil fruits which is why the WG saw them as a big threat
theory 1 makes sense to me cuz most pirates almost never come across a second df, and im pretty sure the ones that do will probably come across the same type of fruit (like zoan-zoan or paramethia-paramethia as they're common) and when they ate both, the dfs crossed each others paths and the person prob exploded which fueled the rumours that u can't have multiple dfs
bb's mom is imu 😶🌫️ .. jk imu is a king not queen it makes very less sense on why people call him a woman and on top of that im pretty sure it would be difficult to make the gorosei bow to a woman than to a man
notice how Big Mom also wanted to be King of the pirates
ye she's honestly dumb frfr but many female characters say the same thing, being called queen of the pirates sounds like there's a king too which is kinda weird
King is actually used genderless sometimes
crazy lore drop if this did happen
Notice how there are two distinct tiles for male/female celestial dragons and Imu gets the male
one would think Yonko and similar or even Celestial dragons or even kings in some countries got enough money to outright buy to test just because
We seen black market prices and devil fruits seemed relatively cheap compared to certain rare slaves prices or even ships costs
This is something the celestials have 1000% tested out
that could mean imu also has at least 2 devil fruits
I think that's more something specific to BB body as something weird has to be there
Also not seems he fed 2 fruits to his crewmates
thats true
Burgess definitely seemed to know how to steal or aquire fruit power back in dressrosa so he taught them something
i still wonder why bb had to use a big cover just to steal a devil fruit
Stealing a fruit like Burgess can is probably mundane and related to what we saw happen to Smiley’s fruit. What Blackbeard did behind the curtain might be directly related to how he has 2 powers
i honestly think bb ate wb
possible considering Big Mom events with Mother Carmel
but the cloth was either to still keep it secret or to hide whatever is weird with his body and allow him to hold at least 2 DFs
another theory is the dark fruit is just able to do it
alright
i gota good one hear me out. Imu is actually nefertari lilly. the shape of the head matches and it would explain why she gone missing, the only ruler to disappear.
I think the cloth was simply there for symbolic reason. It was like an unveiling of a big show to the world kinda thing. Or he's pulling the curtain down of the old age and bringing in a new era.
That goes without saying. I’m still thinking there was an in-universe reason in addition to showmanship. Blackbeard loves operating in secret. He doesn’t give anything away
this is a pretty good theory, maybe it could be for that but we'll have to wait to see if there was bigger meaning behind it
A bit busy but I'll elaborate further later.
I mean if theres a theory that Big mom ate Carmel and got the soul fruit whos to say blackbeard didnt eat whitebeard for his quake fruit
yeah thats what i think too
Because Whitebeard still had physical remains afterward
maybe the df is in the heart? after all, wb had a whole through him
It's definitely not the heart i.e. punk hazard.
This could literally mean anything.
A. Symbolic purpose. To mark the end of an old era and beginning a new.
B. Being enveloped in darkness possibly makes his fruit much stronger, which might have led to him nullify the adverse affect of eating two fruits. We know that certain fruit can be favourable depending on the terrain i.e. Crocodile and Alabasta.
C. Teach was knowledgeable about devil fruits. He probably wanted to hide the fact that he was aware about the loop behind fruit spawning. BB pirates were notorious for hunting fruit users. And this isn't attributed to Teach only, as Absalom, at some point, was killed and stripped off his power, which later Shiryu has possessed. And Burgess tried killing Luffy at Dressrossa.
D. You can chalk it up to his body being "odd" or the rumours behind him not sleeping, but I disagree. We learn that he's special due to his "lineage," however lineage does not take an account to him being able to eat two fruits. If anything, Oda is insinuating his raw strength, despite his weird build, is due to him being Xebec's son. He was able to scar Shanks pre df and almost broke Ace's neck with one swing, and is able to take attacks head on in spite of taking more damage than a typical person due to the effects of yami yami no mi.
Isn't it ironic for someone who's not able to sleep, to give a speech about dreams.
E. Multiple soul/ personality i.e. Xebec in control. I think this theory is straight up bogus. "Just wait one day... I'll be back!"
He didn't really account to himself dying.
It's a series that puts heavy emphasis on inherited will, therefore he will technically be back as BB, his son, as he has inherited his will.
This lame ass shonen trope of "he was simply a tool" heavily downplays BB as an individual and his motive.
Two sides of the same coin; There exists a condition called vanishing twin syndrome where one twin or multiple fetuses in a pregnancy is absorbed by the other twin, the placenta, or the mother's body. Both Shanks and BB shares a similar underlying nature despite their opposing actions, and with the reveal of Shamrock, Shanks' twin, it's not much of a stretch to theorise that BB was also a set of twins and he likely absorbed his twin in the womb thus being able to hold more than one devil fruit.
F. Devil fruit. Teach was ready to give up on his dream had he not stumble across the fruit.
It has yet to be revealed whether Xebec was a fruit user or not, and whether he was explicitly the previous user of the yami yami no mi...
In that very same panel, Shiryu suggests whether they will disband if he fails, connoting this is the very first time someone has tried this and succeeded. This will be attributed to the fruit once we will see more of Xebec. If it was down to lineage, Xebec would have been known as the first person to hold more than one fruit (again, if he's confirmed to be a fruit user) by select few, obviously.
The way Long Ring Long Island is exactly where the Davy back fight happens is sus given all the theories and info we have now
I have a theory
What if the one piece
The tree were all the dfs come from . That would be cool then god ussop could finaly get a flipping powerup
but dont the fruits randomnly pop up? or rather than random, it pop to find its user (bcs each fruit has its will)
Idk realy it's js a theory
Repost of theory i had from a bit ago.
I think the one piece is the gift of your greatest wish being granted.
When Roger first meets Rayleigh he says, "I wanna turn the world upside down", which was his wish that caused the great pirate era.
Many theories say that Luffy told the strawhats (in chapter 1060), ace, sabo, and shanks that he wants to either have a party with the whole world or he wants to start a new era, which would come along with the abolishment of the red line.
This can also be backed up with the idea that Sanji wants to find the all blue, which is all the seas combined where all fish meet. How would he do this? By having the red line be abolished, hence Luffy's dream of connecting the world to have a party.
Another straw hat, brook, has the dream to meet laboon again. Laboon is outside of the grandline and separated due to the red line, which will fall and allow laboon to meet Brook again.
Franky's dream is to travel on the greatest ship in the world. The Thousand Sunny will be the ship that takes the future pirate king to the place that will abolish the Grand Line and become the most fabled ship in the world.
If the grandline gets abolished, fishman island won't be stuck under the red line and will come to the surface where they will emigrate into normal society and shirahoshi and jimbei's dreams will be realised.
Robin wants to learn all the history of the world which she can't do until she finds all the poneglyphs which are needed because (different theory) laugh tale moves around which is why you need all the poneglyphs and why shanks hasn't returned since he was a kid.
(back to normal)
Nami is going to chart the entire world allowing for everyone to be free and travel anywhere they want.
Usopp, I believe, is going to die to allow the strawhats to escape and allow luffy to make his wish, going down in history as the greatest warrior that ever lived who allowed luffy to create the new world without the red line.
Chopper's dream is impossible, LOL.
Joyboy was going to wish but Imu killed him and wished that the entire world would flood/the power to control water due to their hatred for the devil fruits.
Wano was closed off due to the flooding and somehow got the wall that now protects the country.
I think that people will start to call luffy the king of pirates due to them believing he destroyed the grandline based on sheer will power alone.
Solid theory ngl
out of all theories about what is one piece, what i truly like is that one piece is an afro hair wig
What😭😭😭
check that out in yt
I'm sure you genuinely like it, but can you seriously explain or summarize the theory with any reasonings / evidenced backing?
It's not very fair to all the others who work so hard on long, rigorous theory-crafting if we allow simple ideas such as this to remain and essentially add to chat clog, which is why I ask.
I read this bfr, u dont need to copy paste
Why is it not in the heart?
Because we have seen fruit users still able to use their ability without their heart in punk hazard.
would it make sense for it to be stored in the soul?
Possibly.
it makes the most sense for me as to why Blackbeard would be able to use more than 1 (if he is more than one person in such a way as having more than one personality, or having consumed his twins at birth, or somehow retaining pieces of his own blood within his body, then the 'devils' wouldn't have to fight upon eating more than a single devil fruit, instead wandering over to an available soul.
The heart was still pumping blood for the body, why would their powers stop working?
The heart is still connected to the body and the blood is even circulating. Even kinemons brain was sending signals to his legs when he had his legs on the dragon. Everything points towards the heart being the source of powers.
quick theory: caribou won't be allowed to join BB, he's just too weak, they'll most likely just stuff him in a barrel.
i have the yt link and it is really interesting up until now especially that davy jones and xebec have a connection (which is he is fan of davy jones and that davy jones topic is resurfaced again in the manga) btw heres summary and yt clip. feel free to watch it is really interesting.
this theory is 2 years ago. and again since the one piece is for me an afro wig and that buggy the clown is one of the main characters in getting the one piece. it could be that one day buggy will wear this wig and eventually becomes the clown (funny nose with an afro hair, typical clown figure)
im pretty positive that the will of D is the will of davy jones like his long lost decendents and davy jones was imus first real enemy/threat
what would explain laught tale being labeled as so, and roger and his crew laughing when finding the one piece?
its clearly stated on ch 967
Nice rebuttal. I knew you were gonna say that and you're somewhat correct, however, real world logic doesn't apply to them as they have their own set of laws in which Law's df is pure magical.
Devil/ demons are said to be after our soul, so they residing in your soul makes perfect sense. The ironic thing is that Big Mom, whom accidentally ate Mother Caramel and gained her ability, is the only proof we have currently, and the fruit is/ was ironically called soru soru no mi.
I listed the possibility regarding it above for BB. If you want to read, go for it. True. It does make sense for the fruit to be stored in the soul.
I have a theory that ussop will sacrifice himself in either elbaf or the final war to help luffy defeat imu, that way he will become a great warrior of the sea and no longer a coward
Does anyone else think Hajrudin will get Domi Reversi’d? If It isn’t a permanent change that Luffy is able to flip, it could easily give him the power boost to put him on Loki’s level.
It would give him the Height and Horns to make him an equal to his younger brother, giving them both the perfect chance to usurp Dorry and Broggy for the current title of Dual Kings.
Oda could give him an insane demon design to fit with the themes of Odin as well.
I think it’s possible. Not sure if it’s leaning that way, but would create a good story-line of Loki, maybe actually not killing his father, but ACTUALLY has to kill his brother.
Hajrudin getting reversied sounds cool, though i think i’d prefer usopp snapping him and dorry/brogy out of it
Think loki 100% was forced to kill harald but won’t kill hajrudin
My brother says maybe rocks is buggy and black beards dad but they have different moms and black beards mom is a buccaneer that's why pre time skip he has kumas hair and is darker than buggy and maybe since we just learned that the will of buccaneers can be passed down like when kuma was doing something even though his mind is gone that's why the way blackbeard acts is a spitting image of rocks its like a part of rocks is living inside him and not buggy lol
Davy Jones was probably considered the rocks of that generation, wanted to become king of the world and confronted IMU but was cursed to be unable to breathe air again or some similar curse (where his legend of Davy Jones locker and him taking everything from the sea would appear from). Davy Jones formed a relationship with the mermaid princess at that time (the mermaid prince is unconfirmed at Joyboy time) and helped her unlock/control her Poseidon powers but was unable to date her true love because Davy Jones was a foreigner (similar to Ida and Estrida). With the power of Poseidon, Davy Jones, and Joyboy on their side, the fishmen and Joyboy made a promise to bring peace and equality to fishmen all over the world by defeating IMU and the 20 countries. Joyboy agreed to the promise and honored it by having Noah created as both a symbol to Fishman Island for the equality they fought for but as a sign of war against the world to fight for equality (notice how durable it was, needing the sea beasts to destroy it). Before they set out for war, Davy Jones was domi reversi'd by imu due to the curse set on him by imu and turned on Joyboy and the mermaid princess at that time. Joyboy not only had to kill Davy Jones but defeat the sea gods before they ran rampant on the world which is where Joyboy broke his promise to Fishman Island for equality (by killing Davy Jones, their pillar of hope, as well as knocking out the mermaid princess). Despite that, Joyboy apologized and left Noah there to keep the symbol of equality ringing throughout Fishman Island and for the fishmen to fight for their equality. Despite the incident, Joyboy wanted to fight before IMU became too powerful with Uranus, came into the fight weakened, learned the truth of what happened to Davy Jones and perished.
Why does rocks follow Davy Jones if he was cursed and defeated by imu? Most likely because of how fearless he was and how he wanted to rule the world by any means possible. The fact that rocks is a Davy Jonesisian pirate can mean multiple things like he can follow the dreams of Davy Jones or even his morals and his attitude as a pirate.
I believe she is Nefertari Imu
It could link to how the sun god is seen differently by different people if joyboy is a moniker much the same as calling luffy strawhat then it might also be that joyboy is davy jones and he is locked away in imu's frozen locker
Or davy jones could be the mentioned sea god of the harley text which i think is more likely
I feel like there's a phantom step that we don't currently know, like a special condition that lets someone 'inherit' the specific devil fruit of another without having to eat it for themselves. It could have something to do with Teach's perception of being 'chosen', like the devil of the fruit wandering over to someone who will carry out the dream it incarnates. The Gura Gura no Mi was described to have the potential to destroy the world, and the Yami Yami no Mi could bear some resemblance to the 'death and darkness' that enveloped The First World once Teach awakens it. It's like Teach is gathering the trifecta for the fruits which hold the potential to destroy the world in its entirety, and it may be possible both because of his knowledge, and ultimate desire. That's what I think, at least
and adds the layers of shock by Cobra
Asking the same question here as I asked in the manga channel and the other manga channel:
Heyo regulars, Im looking around for theories relating to Kuma’s bible (which I believe to be some form of travel story/atlas) and the book Iva shows Sabo in 1086 titled “Genesis.”
I’ve been using the search function but clearly I am technologically illiterate, if anyone knows of a discussion on the topic I’d be appreciative of it, ty
Elaborate a little bit if you don't mind
Ah i didnt see this my bad.
I am currently theorizing that this Bible of Kuma’s contains a “funny traveling tale” (as referenced in Binks Sake) and this book Genesis, from 1086 where Iva reads Imu’s family name Nerona, is some form of history book
I think it would be really cool if Luffy's final fight was an omage to all of the art styles over the last 100+ years to show how art and animation has changed
Cool but it really hasn't much since the timeskip. Old OP anime def isnt same but its been pretty consistent for a while.
I do think his final voyage will be going back through all his old adventures to recruit the people to aid him and the crew.
Is it possible Imu's design could be somewhat based off Medjed
medjeds popularity started in japan in 2012 apparently while imu was introduced to the story in 2018. It could be a significant influence for how imus character is designed (both visually and how medjed is associated with striking/smiting down from the sky kinda how the wg used that weapon on lulusia). I think its a good idea but idk what more we can learn from that
True, however much I try to pursue the idea more, I come up empty handed
Biggest connection I can make is the weapon used on Lulusia was likely Uranus, and was also the 'serpent of hellfire' that enveloped the world in darkness
That would be really sick
it will be luffy to free them from their demonic possessions, he is nika, afterall. This is why imu fears nika, he can free all slaves imu made through its power.
Na
yes
You don't have to sacrifice yourself to become brave. Besides, Usopp is hellbent on living.
I feel like there is also a simple reason on why people idolize joyboy and not davy jones. Joyboy was seen as the chosen one by many who would stand on top of the world, while Davy Jones may have been someone who wants to stand at the top but wasn't chosen by fate. I feel like Rocks knew from a young age that fate/destiny did not like him, yet he heard about davy jones and felt like he still could be at the top of the world. This parallel hasnt been seen through rocks POV yet, but when WB said to BB that he will not find the one piece, it implies a chosen one vs a non-chosen one. I believe if we're following that parallel through the history, Davy Jones wasn't the chosen one, Joy boy was. Rocks wasn't the chosen one, Roger was. And BB wasn't the chosen one, Luffy was. Maybe roger and rocks clash at god valley was a final battle on who would eventually win, destiny or brute human force, rather than a conflict about treasure
The only thing that feels weird to me is the Will of D doesn't fit my theory, but I have a weird feeling that the Will of D may be involved in what the one piece truly was. The D clan was apart of the top of the world before Imu and the world government. The D stands for Dream as evident by Luffy and BB's ideals involving their dreams. The D clan believed the world should revolved around dreams and freedom and believed the idea that a hierarchy wasn't the right way for people to live. I do believe that Joyboy's crew and Lilli were the people who originally came up with the D clan and were a small group of people, who idolized Nika because of the idea of Freedom, until their dreams was destroyed by IMU who wants to contain dreams and use those dreams to his advantage. There's a clear parallel between the D clan members and higher tiers of marines and mariejois. D clan members proclaim the idea of freedom and break / go against the rules that they are bound by (luffy, BB, roger, rocks, lilli, vivi all defied the world government in one way or another). Joyboy apologized as apart of the D clan to the fishmen and left behind the poneglyphs as sort of the language passed down by the D clan through the Kozuki Clan (were perhaps allies of the D clan and why they had the city of the old Wano sunk down to the floor to prevent people from reading off the messages of the poneglyphs) as a message to the D clan members of how to overthrow the WG and what truly happened, which is why Clover and the people of Ohara may have been the only people to read it as they were inclined to as members of D, but as soon as they were reaching Joyboy's messages, they were buster called. Now, I believe the one piece may be a weapon that is crucial to defeating the CDs and IMU, potentially the last resort if Joyboy and his crew went down that only with the help of multiple D members could enable. If roger knew about the true Will of D and how the one piece involved it, he knew it wasn't his time because he was succumbed to the disease and was unable to cooperate with the current D members (rocks was dead and garp is not on his side). They may have laughed bc the one piece is something that represents the Will of D, stupid looking and fill with wonder to signify that any dream can come true and succeed (a true polar opposite of Imu and the WG)
You know what annoys me, people claiming buggy is related to Rocks. Buggy/franky look more alike than rocks/buggy. 😆 litterally same hair an eyes franky an buggy
Oooo conspiracy 🤣 🤭
Yeah but Franky’s father is already pretty much confirmed whereas Buggy’s isn’t and making Buggy the son of Rocks is smth that’s 100% in character for Oda
The more people hate on Rocks d buggy theory the more I want it to be true
wait whos frankys father?
Queen
its a theory based on SBS and Vivrecard info
According to Oda Queen has a son that he abandoned at sea, and we know that Franky's father was a pirate who abandoned him at sea. The ages line up and both of them are mechanics so like its not confirmed but a lot of ppl accept it
oh i see, this is very interesting
Let me get you a good video
omg thanks 🙏
I honestly don't see how the two faces match at all
Would you like a very long list of characters without parents confirmed 🤣 one thing is for sure, power is related to lineage. Buggy has none. He wanted shanks to be king. That's not the will or desire of a conquerer or someone with certain lineage. Also its completely fan theory who frankys father is. It has not been officially confirmed atall. At this point its speculation. Buggy/franky look the same apart from nose. More so than rocks/buggy.
The eye, the face, hair colour. Everything. All extremely similar to buggy. More so than rocks/buggy
No because its not relevant? I'm not talking about just "any character without parents confirmed" I was talking specifically about the different between Franky and Buggy, that should've been obvious. And power and lineage are not 100% accurate? Big Mom's parents were completely ordinary people with no powers. Hajrudin's dad is like yonko level and yet Hajrudin got one-shot by G2 Luffy. Half of Big Mom's kids are bums. Power and lineage are connected but its not a gurantee that the kid will inherit their parents' strength or will. Do you think all 70 of Big Mom's kids have conqueror's haki?
No, but all Ds do have atleast basic haki. 😜
So is it already confirmed that xebec had the warp warp fruit?
no
Other series spoiler in manga serious
What makes you say that? He could have warped instead we were shown him running around the holy land until he come across Harald. He was also shown huffing meaning he was running for awhile.
Now that I looked into it, you're right! And he even jumped off marijois.
Luffy can do anything so if he wishes, he can make more joyboys too. If someone in OP world 100 percently believes in Nika, they can transform into Joyboy too - i.e. Bonney. So the main thing is joyboy is just too silly that even if he is able to do anything he wishes, he hardly finds out efficient wishes. He never thought of transforming someone into Joyboy but when he finally finds out that he is able to make more joyboys that's exactly the time they win.
Portgas D Rouge is not confirmed to have haki, and basic haki is just something you gain with training. Buggy is perfectly capable of learning armament and observation haki, he's just never put in the work
I have thought this since they showed the bonney transformation. I think it was a fake out how she did it but also establishing forshadow the war between light and dark (imus demon army and nikas sun god army.)
Yeah. I just make that theory casually 👍
One piece is Binks sake obviously
It's funny because Luffy doesn't drink alcohol
I can prove it and link everything
Luffy doesn't need too
if anyone wants to know one piece ending tell me
Lay it on us then, this channel is for large theories
Ok, first Luffy first and known goal is to find one piece to become king of pirates, not to conquer anything, but because is the person with most freedom in the world
however Luffy was an unknown goal that shocked ace sabo and even his crew, the manga didn't revealed what he said, it's an even harder and supposed impossible goal
Which is to make everyone in the world to have the same freedom as him as pirate king, like whole world able to have access to one piece, if finding one piece is the only way to be totally free, Luffy had this pattern in every arc of liberation, but now that I'm the most free person how can I make whole world be as free as me
Allowing them to be able to do the same as me but how? that's what I'll explain, Binks song lyrics is " going to deliver Binks sake yohohoho
roger crew when they got to laugh tale and found one piece they laughed but couldn't do nothing, too early they came, the yohohoho in the lyrics is the laughter
but they can't deliver Binks sake like the lyrics imply, why? Because the sake is chained to the island, imprisoned, it's purpose only works in laugh tale, and can't be moved
the sake was the power to liberate, give true freedom, cure people's hearts give joy evens diseases
but it's power is limited to the island because the island is still chained like the rest of the world in a way
Why Roger was too soon? Because to use one piece full power he needs the ancient weapons to break the chains in one piece world
Poseidon was not born yet, and all ancient weapons are needed to manifest the sake around the world, the freedom to deliver Binks sake to everyone
So, what are the chains? If u people watch closely , the two red line in vertical and calm belt lines in horizontal together resemble prison bars or chains, diving the blues and two parts of grande line, qnd limiting the freedom to travel in the world, weakest seas are limited to each other, in grand line this oppression gets compressed, each island is isolated from each other impossible to travel without a compass, and exclusive climate.and weather, like each island its own prison
Laugh tale even harder to break freedom, compasses don't work u need 4 poneglyphs, meaning the more ure close to freedom the less freedom u have to accomplished it, laugh tale was the treasure that brings true freedom that's why it was the stronger chain
However there's conditions to make one piece worldwide, if laugh tale is in chains one piece only manifest in the island, u can see that when Rogers crew all laughed, resembling Luffy laughter when he is Nika from, Luffy feels the most freedom in Nika from, Roger was sick, however Roger sickness would return as soon as he.left.the island, for the one piece to free to thw whole world u have to free the whole world, thats when ancient weapons come in
red line and calm belt line are the bars reverse mountain and mariejois in the other line are locks
Reverse mountain lock is the liberation lock, mariejois lock is the opposite
imu-sama is based on Satan, Luffy on Christ, Blackbeard on anti-christ, final war is the Armageddon or apocalypse
Blackbeard wad the same goal as Luffy, but he was opposites personality, he can see that in jays where they counter they're tastes, and.along.the.manga u can see the parallels
in Armageddon is written that anti Christ wins at first, meaning Blackbeard.will find one piece first, but the anti Christ.was not the promised one not able to finish his goal, Christ came and replaced him defeating him also
whiteboard told teach " it's not you Roger is waiting for" reinforcing that idea, but what limited him?
well Luffy already some of the keys to make one piece work, first off u need ancient weapons to deconstruct the world and make all seas in One Piece, destroying reverse montain is the first step, reverse mountain it's the lock of freedom, when all seas are united in one the drums of liberation of G5 are like a trigger, Drums of "Liberation"
Blackbeard doesn't posses that power, so he can't do nothing, he was to fight Luffy to try to steal his power, reinforcing the fact hat he is not the chosen just a fake "antichrist"
however things will complicate even more, mariejois is the other lock, evil lock 🔒
Mariejois is the reference of hell, Imu is reference of Satan, god imprisoned Satan in hell, not allowing to have direct access to earth
Imu same can only manifest his power trough possesion, and having vessels do the work,.like I'm real life bible History Satan can only manifest in world trough possesion
each lock balances each other like ying and yang, Imu same doesn't have.the hability to reach.laugh.tale and the other way around in different ways, that's why the wg never tried to get one piece first, they cant
Imu is Satan, a devil, devil fruit users also have a devil inside them trying to aproach laugh tale makes them sick, now u ask, but how can Luffy and Blackbeard get there?
well Blackbeard(antichrist) uses deception darkness fruit negates the devil from the df fruits, masking the fruit, allowing him to get there
Luffy fruit is the embodiments of freedom just like one piece itself the Binks sake, so it's not perceived as a treath, and not perceived as a "devil"
imu sama wants to stop that and gain full control of the world, by unlocking the lock that is mariejois itself, how will he do it? Well Luffy needs weapon's to unlock reverse mountain key, Imu needs to open the gate of hell to allow him to manifest his power in the whole world without restraints
line from mariejois is a vertical line, calm belt horizontal ones, how can I make a portal to open hell? the bridges being built for centuries when Robin was split will be the arcs connecting the sides.of red line and calm belt line
Making the same symbol that shanks.has in his arm like a.full metal alchemist kinda thing, with mariejois in middle,
Imu unlocks oppression lock having access to try to dominate.world and stop Luffy, but at same time when Luffy defeats bb and replaces him he also unlocks freedom key, now the balance is depending on who will win? good vs evil, freedom vs opression
in the Elbaf mural u can see Imu is gigantic bigger than Loki and all others representing the fact that he can now leave hell and was total freedom to try to what he wants
also if u pay close attention to one piece manga, the whole manga is a reference to the bible
there's more stuff I can say in detail but I think I said enough,.does my theory sound plausible?, another.detail straw hat is also a requisite to open the locks
Reverse mountain lock need the whole world in one piece all seas united, drums of Liberation and Luffy straw hat, mariejois needs the pentagram like.symbol and the giant straw hat that they already possess
When Luffy frees the physical world now he needs to free peoples hearts so they can coexist whiteout racism and malice, that the Binks sake, now that the sake can also travel out of laugh tale because it is unchained now
it can bring the same joy, disease cure and malice cure, basically a sake that united everyone and cleanses people of all that is evil and oppressive, but there's only one sake how can they distribute to world
Chopper is needed to replicate it, makjng it possible to share around the world, also accomplishing chopper goal of discovering a cure to all illnesses, all blue is all the sead united, laboon tried to open the reverse mountain by herself, NAMI can now chart entire world etc etc
like the lyrics say going to deliver Binks sake under the sun, yohoho,.they laughing because of sake effect and they will spread.it.around the world, the world is in one piece physically and mentally now if everyone has access to this sake
The end ( if u have any question ask me)
One piece ends with whole world laughing of joy, at dawn drinking Binks sake,(the one piece)
i think it does sound plausible but the part with the strawhats being needed to unlock the locks seem a bit arbitrary
if they represent something else sure but why are they special? just a link with the original nika or joyboy?
also a thing i want to know is if imu is locked in hell as satan who would be in heaven? is there a freedom figure somewhere in reverse mountain or it's just a counter lock to balance the one in hell?
overall i like the connection with christianity a lot since imu gives off a lot of demon/satan/hell vibes
I'm not sure about the straw hats but the fact theres 2 straw hats,. one belonged to Roger, other one is in mariejois, like they need it to do something special
Also reverse mountain represents freedom lock, in the way it leads people to try to find it's key, it was 4 streams coming from each sea that mark an X wad X is the goal, and a 5th stream only leading to grand line, like implying X is the.goal but the key to open it is this way, go on find it, and unlock me please
I was thinking of the following:
-Kuma's hands have been referred to as the Hands of Liberation.
-BlackBeards DF he has noted can 'suck in the Devil's power.'
-In reality, both involve pushing out and absorbing many things. They just take a different order of operations.
Perhaps the paw paw fruit was the target of Rocks. He learned enough about Imu to realize the Paw Paw fruit if utilized could expel powers/soul/possession out of Imu. We have seen the paw-paw fruit expel almost metaphysical concepts, like pain and memories, into a tangible object. One can also absorb what is expelled. This power may still be incredibly powerful towards the end of the series (and one way to defeat BB+ Imu.)
When the paw paw fruit was eaten, BB had to take a different strategy then his father, and found a similar DF in the dark-dark fruit. Instead of pushing out something out and absorbing it, he could just negate and absorb....and not worry about the expelling aspect of his fruit.
For the purposes of Rocks/BB, both fruits could accomplish the same strategic goals.
It might be why Ope Ope was another option, and doflomingo brought it up. IT could help accomplish similar things to BB and Kuma's fruit for taking over the world.
my man you cooking!!!
buggy is rocks' son
rocks had them with different moms, just like harald
besides the similar bounty posters between buggy and xebec, buggy and teach share the same blood group
they're 1 year apart
buggy wanted a rocks pirate's treasure (captain john)
buggy ended up on fake hachinosu (an island with a giant skull) trying to find this treasure
also, buggy comes up when whitebeard and shanks discuss rocks' other son BB
buggy IS captain john's treasure, he's looking for himself 😭. and yes, xebec's fruit will be the bara-bara no mi 🦅
i also hope he's a nefertari, turning him into imu's ultimate enemy
Here's an idea. What if Davy Jones is the one who put that devil fruit curse on the ocean? It would be very ironic and cool since Blackbeard is so reliant on them. Unlike Xebec, who seems to be a swordsman (like Shanks).
i don't know who davy jones is or was, can you remind me how much we know about davy jones, i don't even remember if this character existed in one piece
this is our only reference for now ( for one piece )
real life one more interesting
Have you read the latest chapter?
Maybe Davy jones is as simple as that but people like Rocks were inspired by his ideals of being free and doing what u want and took a lil too far
Binks sake really is the one piece, the 'yohohoho" part of the song is them laughing in joy just like Roger and his crew did when they reached laugh tale, the sake frees peoples hearts, bringing laughter true happiness and sense of freedom, even cures diseases, Chopper will replicate the sake in mass and they will distribute it to the world . "Going to deliver Binks sake under the dawn" (also accomplishing chopper dream of finding a medicine that cures everything) Luffy no only wants to be freeest person in the sea, but also everyone in the world to be free aswell, however for them to be able to take the sake from laugh tale, they have to put the world in one piece first, uniting the seas using the ancient weapons and only then they can bring the sake with them and travel around the world to deliver it(allowing also NAMI to chart whole world) sake gives freedom of heart and makes people not be evil, racist or sick, promoting union in the entire world, makijg the world in one piece not only physically but also mentally, all seas united, without red line, cslm belt etc, islands from grand line are now free to travel without restraints needing a 🧭 os no longer required(all blue) , ending will be.everyone in world toasting with sake undee the dawn, worldwide union without discrimination opression everyone and everything in ONE
Hello everyone, I made an MS paint comic of an idea I saw on reddit 😄
https://www.reddit.com/r/OnePiece/comments/1ma1sl4/heres_how_i_think_it_went_down_inspired_by/
well, my idea based off that idea
one piece treasure is what will allow them to free the world, i can prove why and link it all
If you watch the Beetles movie Yellow Submarine there's a scene where a band plays while under attack. the spoken lines go "quartet, trio. duo," etc. This immediately reminded me of Bink's sake and how Brook's crew died. Could Yellow Submarine give us clues to Bink's Sake and Brook? the movie is available free on youtube. scene starts at 5:10 https://youtu.be/i6x10hlwuvM?si=filNiG5gB1Xd-CsQ

Oda wouldn’t do that
So if dreams can be made into dfs. And willpower can be used. What if luffy gets some of his power from people believing in him eos. Thats it thats all i have
Believe in me ..so that I can become strong aahh powers .??
Interesting
Hes already stronf
Im saying dreams and willpower are energy so what if at some point like in the final fight when tons of ppl have faith in luffy that that somehow gets funneled into him to defeat whoever
buggy family:
The father: rocks
The mother: Imu
( also this is not troll theory, i feel its true as imu has picture of vivi she has blue hair, and lilly as well, so she may have blue hair )

Short theory, a lot of people have suggested that the original Joy Boy’s name is Davy Jones due to our irl legends saying Davy Jones was the first pirate and Joy Boy being one pieces first pirate. So if Joyboy’s original identity is Davy Jones, could Zunesha have been his Flying Dutchman parallel? Something that can never stop moving due to a punishment?
This links even more directly, some of the giants even look alike
Nice remembrance. Punk Hazard huh
I think Davy is joyboy parallel
I think so too
Joyboy vs Davy Jones
Roger vs Rocks
Luffy vs Blackbeard
Exactly
D clan was a split(same will but different ways of acting
The "split" between the D clan might actually make sense, first of all what the D clans have in common is that they seem to end up toppling the established world order one way or another
But while people like Rocks or Blackbeard strive to overthrow the established order in order to create a new hierarchy where they are the kings, people like Roger or Luffy seem to want to overthrow the established order permanently and not rule over anyone
yeah makes sense, also think they might be a reference to Christ and Anti-christ ins Armageddon(final war) being that Bb not being the chosen one will be replaced by Luffy, wb mentioned that marshall not the one Roger waiting for, solidifying that he is not the one,.like the anti-christ which is a fake Christ
Oda brings motifs from all sorts of religions & myths across the world so it could be an inspiration
yes because one piece as of now seems to be reaching to apocalyptic events
also this is sort of unrelated but also simultaneously in the theme of christianity, but I wonder why oda chose whitebeard's height to be 666 centimeters, was he trying to say something I mean whitebeard was clearly a good guy
Not sure on that one but IMU is clearly the reference to Satan
also marco's height is 203cm, and that translated into feet is 6.66 feet (I am cooking up nothing)
ever heard the saying " Satan biggest lie was convincing humans that he doesn't exist" exactly what IMU does he's supposed not to exist
oh yeah he (or she) is definitely the one piece version of the devil, I mean we saw when imu possessed gunko
Yes and I thibk the Grimoire stores DF powers that IMU lends from the devil's in the fruits
IMu is a literal devil, just like de devil's inside the fruits, eating a DF represents selling Ur soul to that devil thus becoming enemy of the sea on exchange for power
My theory is that imu has some sort of relation to the "devil" that the devil fruits refer to, maybe made a deal with the devil at some point during the void century? I can't see imu being some supernatural entity from the very beginning because at one point he was just a celestial dragon and one of the 20 kings
well when Satan rebelled against God he got banished and turn into devil right? IMu revolt against joyboy, with other kings(angels that joined Satan rebellion) might have made this switch from IMu being a good entity like joyboy to an evil one
mariejois might represent hell itself, the irony of it? It's not below but above tol of the world
Maybe but vegapunk also says that the war between joyboy (+ancient kingdom) and the 20 kingdoms was not a war between good and evil but more so a war of different ideals
Exactly this reinforces my theory Satan had different ideals from God that's why he rebelled
Luffy is Jesus reincarnated Roger will, Roger was Jesus when Jesus first came just look at Roger parallels
There's a lot more if people pay attention, poneglyphs are bible pages, the word of god that carry the truth
of course the devil banished people from reading the bible
do you guys have any ideas as to why lili would team up with the other 19 kingdoms and then immediately turn against them
it's possible the 20 kingdoms were good or appeared to be good maybe or they became bad or maybe imu took control of everything, it's possible that she was infiltrating too but could be anything really, but it's not like she necessarily "immediately" turned against them
Every new chapter has been a smash hit. I just finished reading chapter 1155 and holy crap
If anything Roger and Luffy are reincarnations of Joy Boy who I believe if memory serves me was the first user who consumed Nikas devils fruit.
We know that Imu is an evil god that has basically been around for generations. Imu is probably the last of his or her line that controls the world government which is ruled by the holies in the holy land of Mary Mariejois.
I think once we get deeper into the lore of the void century we will know more about Imu, Joy Boy, Nika and the world government as a whole. One Piece is by the most rich, world build manga/anime ever ❤️
here's another theory/headcanon/misinformation I want to shit on
Enma was reforged/Modified to fit Hiyori
side by side modern Enma and Ame no Habakiri were the same size, so both swords would have been modified, which would be a stupid decision because Momo ends up being as big as his dad. Are you telling me they reforged the blade to not fit Momonosuke and for both to fit only Hiyori? A stupid theory that every thinks is a fact said by Oda because of one youtube shorts they saw earlier. It has never been directly stated by the manga or SBS or vivre card databooks, that the swords were modified to fit Hiyori and Momonosuke, it was only ever said that it was passed down, plus that theory is stupid because Momonosuke ends up growing to be as large as his dad anyways and both swords were shown to be the same size side by side so both would have to be modified for that to happen, which again is stupid because that means they modified the sword to not fit Momonosuke when he becomes an adult. This made up fact that Oda said so became so common once that one YT short came out saying his swords were modified. The thing is, people still try to correct me by saying, "This is why you should read SBS." Despite it never being said, only thing that came close is them saying that the swords were passed down to them, which is literally not the same.
Sorry I just keep seeing "Erm actually it was stated that his swords were reforged/modified" like NO IT HASN'T, I only remember a YT short saying that, I only remember the official media saying that it was passed down.
One Piece fans explaining how Shanks passing down his hat to Luffy means the hat was modified and reforged to fit Luffy because passing down and modifying to fit someone is synonymous
Spade : spade pirates
Hearts : Heart pirates
Diamonds: ???
Clubs : Barto Club
Jack Queen King , Ace Shanks met Kaido but they weren't fighting Kaido was also heading to Marinford to rescue and recruit ace while taking advantage of the war
Rocks pirates?
actually didn't daz bones ask zoro if he was going to go for cutting diamonds next? this could be actual foreshadowing that whatever pirates represent diamonds are giving zoro more character development
This ome sold me completely, I think you’re on the money about them meeting shanks on lodestar. Gaban beint the navigator, Elbaph having navigational renown, and even things like Shanks being able to get around so quickly and efficiently fit well together.
Something that helps your point is apparently, shanks tells Beckmann they should go steal the one piece in the Japanese text, not just go claim it. Him waiting for Luffy on lodestar to do it makes so much sense
Imu is a perpetual youth, and by youth I mean likely a teenager. The connections to Doflamingo are ones I have talked about for awhile. But something else occurred to me with Loki. Beasts in one piece have a theme of following non-adults. I attached a picture where several young people dominated young beasts to do their bidding. Similar scenes that we see again, and again...often with similar animals. It is a sign of somebody who can be a leader and/or has innate power to control beasts. But it is a power shown primarily in the young. and I think that is why the five elders have beastial yokai forms. It is the forms a young person would perceive, seeing the beasts in the dark. The lion looks like a demon without the sun. An ancient titan looks like a devil...... Just like Loki, Imu likely was born to potentially a wild...but good person....a pirate....but...though war and hard times became the anti-pirate offspring.
It is more likely Imu is the child of Lili in my mind more than ever....and the father....might have worn a straw hat.
yep yep, it’s what makes me think a Shanks arc is next.
Ohhh interesting, I didn’t know about the steak thing, that’s awesome. Makes me think Shanks won’t be 100% an ally
Nope, especially not with him hurting Barto
-Rocks/Teach dark dark fruit is secretly the hito-hito no mi Model: Davy (Mythical Zoan / Nautical Chimera)
-Teach's Blackhole is similar to Davy Jones Locker (Nullifies escape and abilities). Blackhole is also similar to Octopus Ink (Sepia) when fighting
-Can take multiple fruits due to having 3 hearts (Octopus)
-Teach leading corrupted pirates / Davy Jones commanding souls of the damned
-Nika carries the will of liberation / Davy carries the weight of betrayal
-Nika gained allies by trust, Davy gain them by force (Davy back fight)
-If awakened, he might summon kraken
-Nika & Davy Jones might lived in the same era before 800 years ago.
-Joyboy and another D clan (might inherit Davy Jones ability) lived in the same era, both of them from Ancient Kingdom.
-Joyboy maybe failed because that someone (Inherited Davy's power) betrayed him due to his nature/inherited will from Davy
theory by ore: tony tony Chopper will leave the crew
my theory is that after 2 people join the crew 1 leaves every time why i think this is because Nami left after Ussop and Sanji joined then Ussop left after Chopper and Robin joined then Sanji left after Franky and Brook joined and then in Wano Jinbe joined so my theory is that after they get one more crew member Chopper will leave the crew because first Nami then Ussop then Sanji and they joined in that order so Zoro will never betray Luffy and Luffy cant leave his own crew so then next in line to leave is Chopper after Nami Ussop and Sanji.
I think brook is a bit more likely with the gunko stuff, but i hope noone leaves the crew anymore
you know how luffy has a white appearance when he is in gear 5, and how the gorosei and lucci had black appearance after awakening, what if imu's powers are the yami yami no mi the contrast of gomu gomu no mi, light god, and dark god type shit
Placing this here to expand later but:
The darkness fruit is just a different Nika fruit. Its like American God's. One Nika is the libarator stories of Nika, the other is Elbafs stories of a destructive Nika.
part of me wonders if it was Xebec's sword that had maybe the Dark Dark fruit, and that is why BB named his ship after his saber.
we are def seeing in the story more nowadays weapons that have DF powers, but interesting if it didnt have a zoan.
your theory is incongruent because robin joined after chopper but she left the crew before chopper will - assuming your theory does happen, and i don't know what would lead chopper to leaving the crew; nami and sanji and robin left because they were blackmailed, usopp left because he couldn't accept that merry was dying, the former three had unknown backstories by the time we reached their perspective story arcs unlike chopper whose backstory probably wrapped up back in drum island; merry affected the whole crew but usopp felt it harder than everyone else
Hah so all this could be daddy issues…..that’s a classic villain story approach
We don't have time for this, gang 😭
i think thats why imu cant be defeated because the d clan are fighting to each other like what if bb and luffy unite despite their differences like yin and yang to defeat jmu
The light/dark purple smoke contrast is present only in awakened zoans.
There's a theory that when a zoan fruit awakens, its user is either overcome by the devil within the fruit (dark smoke) or the human's soul triumphs. (light smoke)
Ok so I had a question. Is Luffy Nika because he's so stupid? I've had that thought on my mind since G5 showed up but Bonney's power also relying on ignorance of the world's reality made me think again.
Like, everything makes sense if it's looked at from Luffy's perspective. Resist lightning because he BELIEVES he's rubber, make the floor into rubber because Donflamingo can make it into strings, so his Devil fruit awakened should too.
It doesn't make sense, unless Luffy thinks it does, and he's always portrayed as a clueless person, from everyone else's perspective.
So I have to ask, is Luffy able to do all the stuff he does because he doesn't know how the world works?
TL;DR: Queen and Ms. Merry Christmas are related, and Queen made Lassoo, the dog gun
The existance of Lassoo, the gun who ate a dog fruit, has always been a bit of a mystery. We know he is a result of spme science experiment, and we know Vegapunk at least is responsible for Spandams swird consuming a zoan, but I dont think Lassoo is a result of Vegapunk.
- Vegapunk works for the WG and, from the navys perspective, Baroqueworks was a criminal organization, so its unlikely that Vegapunk would give a criminal this weapon (plus Crocodile had very limited interaction with Baroqueworks so I find it unlikely that he would commission this weapon for one of his secret underlings)
- Its possible the weapon couldve been stolen or gotten by Mr. 4 through other means, but the way they preface that Lassoo is his favorite gun makes md feel that the gun was already his fav before getting the fruit, which seems like he did have it commissioned.
This made me think: if not Vegapunk, then what scientist would willingly give Mr. 4's gun a devil fruit, and that brought me to Mads.
I took a look at Queen specifically, and what surprised me is how similar he looks to one Ms. Merry Christmas. In addition, both are listed as originatinc from "The Grand Line", so theres a chance they could be siblings.
Essentially, my theory is that Ms. Merry Christmas had her partner's gun given to her brother Scien (Queen) in order to bolster their strength, and Queen (in order to prove himself better than Vegapunk), used one of the spare zoans gotten from Hanafudas escapades to accomplish this
We’re most likely going to be on Elbaf for a while. It’s the only place I can think of that’s big enough to serve as the venue for a truly massive war.
All we need is for the key figures to arrive and the stage will be set. It’s even conveniently called War-Land and I’m convinced there’s still much more to it than we’ve seen so far.
Given its sheer size, it’s possible that other key players are already here and we just haven’t crossed paths with them yet.
Blackbeard won’t come until last. That’s his style. When he does it won’t be to fight for territory, it’ll be to take what he’s after. I suspect that’s not the Road Poneglyphs themselves, but rather information that Gaban possesses.
My feeling is that simply collecting the four Road Poneglyphs isn’t enough and there’s a trick to actually following their directions.
Blackbeard probably assumes he can get this secret from Shanks or Buggy. What he doesn’t yet know is that neither of them has been to Laugh Tale.
In fact, I believe Shanks has been counting on that all along. On the surface it looks like he’s keeping a close watch on Blackbeard, but in reality his play has been to keep Blackbeard looking in the wrong places.
By letting Blackbeard believe he has been the one thats ahead in the game, Shanks has been manipulating him into chasing the wrong target entirely while also inadvertently keeping the former away from some key locations where he could gain a significant advantage. Like Wano, where he could get Pluton.
Also, due to the ever present issue of Shanks possibly pulling up on Blackbeard before the latter is prepared for the fight with him, Shanks has ensured that Blackbeard has to spread his forces out to handle individual tasks instead of being at full strength.
Even though Laugh Tale itself probably isn’t Blackbeard’s ultimate goal, there’s likely still something there, something tied to the One Piece, that he needs in order to fulfill his real ambition to become King of the World.
In what way has Shanks influenced Blackbeards decision making, excluding the Marineford pullout.
The Marineford pullout is the most obvious example, but there’s circumstantial evidence that Shanks has been influencing Blackbeard’s moves ever since.
Shanks doesn’t have to directly order or coerce Blackbeard for it to count as influence, all he needs to do is shape the information Blackbeard thinks he has and where he thinks the “next step” lies.
Blackbeard is an opportunist who moves based on perceived openings. If Shanks has intentionally made himself look like the key to Laugh Tale’s final secret, then Blackbeard is more likely to focus on him when the crucial time comes, when he swaps from avoiding Shanks to actively pursue him, and in doing so, Blackbeard will divert resources away from other opportunities.
That’s still influence, not in the form of direct commands, but by manipulating his target’s priorities.
Shanks plays the long game. Blackbeard thrives on short-term gains. If Shanks has fed him the wrong target, even passively by never correcting the false assumption, then every move Blackbeard makes avoiding and/or later chasing Shanks is time not spent on something else that might truly advance his endgame. That’s the essence of strategic influence.
First of all I did kind of say "excluding Marineford".
Second of all I cant see any hint whatsoever that Shanks has made himself look like a key to Laugh Tale, it hasnt been show yet at all.
Thirdly, Shanks himself is in pursuit of the One Piece and isnt actively trying to just prevent Blackbeard from acquiring it.
So as I am sure you are all aware, Oda has provided the real world nationalities/ethnicities of the Strawhats, with one exception. Usopp, of whom he just said 'somewhere in Africa.' So I seek to answer what African nation he could come from.
To begin, it seems that a lot of the nationalities seem to be pretty surface level jokes. The loud one is from America, the reindeer is from Canada, the cook is from France, and the musician shares a nationality with Mozart and no one else. The most depth is Zoro, with Wano being basically Japan, and Zoro being descended from that land.
This is to say that not a lot of evidence seems to be needed to attach a Strawhat to a country. Thus I propose that the liar himself could be a Nigerian 'prince.'
this is genius
W theory
Imu maybe knows some ancient art of Magic / Astrology (Stars)
A combination of:
- Onmyouji ( 🇯🇵 magic) - Gobousei :pentagram , pun with Gorousei
- Imu has a French theme. many occultists were French like the Eliphas L évi Baph o met creator... we know his powers better in Elbaph
- Solomon, maybe? i still thinking... but the dominion over demons
this void century knowledge is key and is missing from the Doflamingo's criteria to reach the supreme other:
- the treasure of Marie Joie (maybe the grimoire is part of it)
- the eternal life - in contract with devil, similar to Hocus Pocus
I think that Biblo is connected to Joyboy in some way and is going to play a role in fighting back against Imu
Joyboy was the first pirate, and Luffy has been repeatedly implied to be just like him in more ways than just his devil fruit. It's plausible that he also shared Luffy's tendency to invite unusual creatures to join his crew, which is supported by the fact that the two beings with a direct connection to Joyboy are Emeth, a robot, and Zunesha, an elephant. Biblo is said to have lived for centuries, with little else known about them other than they oversee the library where the void century data is being kept.
Then what about Davy jones? I feel as if he’s definitely a character now. I think the D is a part of the “Davenyian” pirates and Xebec is apart of the bloodline; thus why people randomly want to know the bloodline of people. Even in the real world (our world) famous people of many sorts hold significant importance asides from the kardashians. Generation to generation, trying to keep a legacy going and doing something even better. Singer, Actor, scientist, blogger what ever skill there is.
I’m just saying maybe Xebec tryna keep Davy’s legacy going (same with joyboy)
Or maybe Davy is joy boy? We don’t know. But I’m starting to think Davy jones has something to do with the will of D, just like how Xebec mentioned the will of Davy.
PS: I seriously think xebec didn’t die. He somehow got trapped in a black hole, or something to do with his own power, same with his crew mates. (That’s why we saw one on Teach’s crew me thinks? Unless he’s from WB but still. The one who was imprisoned in impel down)
I am starting to them they’re alive
my theory is that the marked man by flames is a fisherman not sure what his name was but when you look at gaban glasses there is some hidden drawings in it one of them which is Peg leg
What google said about it: A pirate's peg leg, a wooden artificial leg, is a common image associated with pirates, often seen in literature and popular culture
So im not sure if its fisherman yet but my theory whoever will show up with a peg leg he may be the marked man by flames
Isn’t that just a reflection of Luffy’s legs?
yeah looks like it
-
Long ago, the Galleila Giants were Joyboy's companions.
-
They helped him in his mission to bring down the Red Line and unite the seas.
-
One of their ultimate weapon was Pluton, a massive warship capable of destroying Marijois and the Red Line beneath it — including Fishman Island.
-
They completed Noah — their evacuation ship — as a symbol of their promise to fishman to evacuate them.
-
However, due to unknown reasons, they never finished building Pluton.
-
Without Pluton, Joyboy’s master plan was incomplete.
-
At the same time, Poseidon (Seaking commander) and Uranus (A monters where the egg from roger's ship came) were either missing or dead, making the plan impossible to execute.
-
To protect the knowledge, the Galleila Giants hid Pluton's blueprints.
-
The blueprints eventually reached Tom, who inherited their will and shipbuilding knowledge.
-
Tom founded GALLEY-LA, continuing the ancient legacy.
-
He passed this knowledge to Franky, ensuring it would live on.
-
Rocks D. Xebec sought out Harald and Galleila Giants to revive Pluton and destroy Marijois.
-
If Harald can command the Galleila Giants, then Loki, as his heir, must inherit this gift.
The right glasses clearly is a Peg leg maybe he will lose it or something im not sure but all i know someone gonna show up soon with that
what do you think the DFs rocks is looking for are?
Aside from the one that Harald had (but Loki ate) my guess for the other one is the Dark-Dark fruit, and I think Rocks probably died before ever finding the latter because Whitebeard didn't know about the Dark-Dark powers when facing Blackbeard
And that's probably why Blackbeard was so dedicated to finding the fruit himself, as his father could not
Love-love fruit has got to be one of them, and the reason why Blackbeard pulled up on boa earlier on in the story… I think the army of frozen giants are actually just under the affects of that fruit
I don’t think the fruit on elbaph is the nika fruit no more
I thought of that too
but it's gotta be a known df and the other one is a new one that we don't know about yet
interesting
I mean, the dark-dark fruit is known but the elbaf fruit is unknown, so checks out
Most of them are dead, and whang zi, kaido, streussen, wb, shiki and big mom didn’t share his fate. If he is alive he is not with his crew.
Btw in the one piece pilot manga chapter there were two types of pirates: peace main and morganeers. The first seeking adventure and the morganeers more driven for personal gain of power or riches. Davejonesian pirates might just be the new name for morganeers.
Loki’s fruit? it’d explain his tats
So we get talks about gold. We get mentions of legendary shipwrights. A discussion about key devil fruits. This feels like it is tying back to Enel pretty quick and the Ark Maxim.
Enel forced slaves to build the Maxim, i wonder if the WG forced Galeila to build whatever fires the mother flame
Usopp being half zushindodo makes sense because tontattas are really really fast and they also have pointy noses and such. Usopp's mom had a long pointy nose, but otherwise we dont know much about her. we do know a lot about usopp, and we know that he's almost an abnormally fast runner for natural speed
Loki has parallels to all the Strawhats
Luffy: Inspired by a great pirate, thinking he’s nika
Zoro: A dangerous being not to be trusted while being locked up just like Zoro was
Nami: Thunder-like ability, having a mother-like figure (Ida)even though she isn’t Loki’s actual mother, but treats him like family anyways, most likely will have a traumatic death as well
Usopp: A Brave Warrior that represents smth Usopp wants to be, most likely a trickster off his name, The Hammer
Sanji: a little bit of a tricky one, but so far id say his devotion and not wanting to join Luffy’s crew at first, maybe the simping for Lola but that is a reach since he’s not like that to every woman
Chopper: Being treated as a monster since a baby, if my hiriluk is rocks theory is true then that is included as well
Robin: Being treated as a criminal and monster over crime he likely didn’t commit, also the feeling of not wanting to live
Franky: his troubled relations with his brother, most likely will help contribute to build Pluton 2.0 just like og Pluton was built by the ancient giants
Brook: no clue tbh💀
Jinbe: throwing out assumptions with this one, i do think Loki was an emperor before Shanks took it, so i feel the parallels could be their importance in the world
I hope 🙏 that the will of D is just the Emoji smile 😄
Like it starts out as Dreamer but then the D gets turned into the emoti.
and the giants were frozen..i wonder it its connected to the Giant Strawhat
Judging by Barbells design he might be inspired by the yokai "Namazu the Earthshaker" which was said to be a giant catfish that caused earthquakes with the swing of its tail, this might be why he has the weird flaming hair and is by far the largest non-royal, and non-giant, fishman we have seen. Being based off this Yokai means his fighting style might include making earthquakes, or whirlpools, this and the flaming hair add to the theory that Barbell is actually the man marked by flames.
its interesting cuz i been lookin at the Namazu for a while in regards to Blackbeard and Whitebeard, and as far as i know it has no association with flames
also has me thinking about the link between the poneglyphs and the stones used to pin down the Namazu, definitely a worthwhile rabbit hole
wano is one piece's japan, Yokai are japanese, flame hair is ascociated with wano figures like hyogoro and therefor japan
interesting cuz i been pointing out how the zu in hinokizu can mean head or hair and specifically predicting Hinokizu will have a flame on top of his head like Hyogoro
i don’t think its Barbel but i do think him being shown with this flaming head 100 after Hinokizu’s first mention is relevant. also been pointing out how “hi” can mean crimson, Brook’s crimson hair on the cover had me screaming
yes, and the fact that he is a fishman who can create whirlpools and the only non-thriller bark ROCKS that was never mentioned in the present aside from don marlon
im willing to entertain this idea but it would kinda imply that Hinokizu can only make one whirlpool at a time and that the ship is unmanned when he’s doing so
in the myths it says it creates earthquakes by smacking its tail, maybe he can do something simmerlar using fishman karate, like how 1000 brick fist can hit someone without making contact, he can make whirlpools without making contact
once we see more of him at god valley which will probably be in the next couple chapters we can see more of his move-set and go from there, the hinokizu is implied to be something since post-roger era so its probably going to be someone weve been introduced to it, it would be bad writing to create a completely new character when we meet the hinokizu
Loki's devil fruit is the human human fruit, model Elbaph
This devil fruit is one of the two that Xebec needed, the other being the human human fruit, model Nika
Brogy and Dorry mentioned a god of war with the same name as their nation when we met them on Little Garden
Also, Oars was called the "continent puller" when he was alive. My theory is that he was a previous user of the huge huge fruit, which San Juan Wolf currently uses and when he was alive was large enough to peek over the Red Line lol
Could there possibly be two nika?
Pros
Mural; one beckons liberation thus inviting peace and prosperity, while the other is associated with destruction.
Some Giants entertained the idea of Nika as a saviour while others hold a different view based on interpretations of the legend; sees him as a destructive force.
It seems rather redundant for a fruit associated with "freedom" to be locked in Elbaf for all these years.
The legendary fruit of Elbaf may not have been the Nika fruit. Or it was the rendition of a pre existing Nika fruit (a failed clone, perhaps?) The fruit is said to have escaped their grasp for 800 years after numerous attempt according to the gorosei. Hence why.
Was the original Nika an ancient giant? The latest chapter certainly entertains the notion. Why was Xebec so adamant about wanting Harald to eat the fruit.
Or is this attributed to Xebec's own twisted interpretations of Nika? Because he values strength foremost, and Harald, whom he acknowledges for his strength and considers him a friend, will be pivotal, alongside Elbaf, to crush the Holy land. What was stopping him from eating the yami fruit though... if it is really the "treasure" that was stolen from them which led to the God Valley incident.
According to the Harley, the world has been destroyed twice prior, and both times Nika was present. One fought the oppression while the other was the harbinger of destruction.
Vegapunk was able to successfully clone fruit(s) Could they have possibly cloned the fruit with far advanced technology then, and the result was an incomplete Nika fruit which Joyboy ate. Some fruits are said to have a mind of their own and could this possibly have affected Joyboy which resulted into the catastrophic end (?)
Like for example, Lucci's devil fruit aggravated his already bloodthirsty nature.
This is a draft and i am still working on it (I am gonna work on it during my free time)
Far left isn’t even bro
bro kinda freaky with the choker on he gimped out
so this is Luffy’s mom, no woman in one piece has looked this similar to Luffy
Kuja only gives birth to females, gang
the Kuja tribe are based off the amazonians, a country of only women warriors. If they give birth to a boy, they would leave them behind or kill them. I doubt the kuja tribe kill their babies if they are boys, but i do feel that part was somewhat inspired since this would set up Luffy as a rarity, not just for the Kuja tribe, but the whole world since he is technically the chosen one to free the world
that’s why i said rarity
This is why Kuma sent Luffy to Amazon Lily of all places since Kuma out of all people would know of Luffy’s mother
i think that only applies to the island
"Return with child"
what about the ones who don’t return? also ion think they’re like an ethnic group don’t women emigrate there from all over? might be misremembering off the implication that they only turn away men
He did it for their growth. What was stopping Luffy from getting any stronger? Haki. What does kuja specialise on? Mastery of haki.
And also, the timeline is a bit scuffed for her to be Luffy's mother if we set him as "rarity." She has been an empress since Hancock and her sisters escaped mariejois, and was there to pardon Gloriosa, to Hancock succeeding her after her death due to love sickness.
That was like 12 years ago (?)
And Luffy is currently 19.
They're like the watered down version of amazoness you mentioned.
like if a woman leaves amazon Lily and has a kid will it be female
There's no proof of it so we will just have to trust the narrator
ok i checked n it says “only female children are born here” so it seems like an island thing

So when did she die “future empress”
As we know, the first event we can associate with Rocks is him meeting Imu. It's kinda a crazy feat on its own, so I think it's safe to say that his real start on his anti-WG "journey" was much before him meeting Imu. We kinda just got started halfway through his life story.
I would like to think that Rocks has actually been to Laugh Tale before Roger. He just never told anybody about it because it wasn't called Laugh Tale back then, it was unnnamed. I believe he's been to Zou, FMI, Wano and found their road poneglyphs. I believe he's actually been to whatever island BM got her Road Poneglyph from too.
He sailed the ocean and has seen the One Piece which is WHY he knows about Imu. I think he made this plan BECAUSE he knows the true history and wants to take down the WG. I don't think it's as simple as him just not liking the WG for what they're doing in the present day, he knows too much obscure information for that to make sense.
For him to truly be the previous generation's PK before the "First" PK, I think he actually has been to Laugh Tale. Luffy will agree with Rocks. BB doesn't understand Rocks.
A huge point is that Luffy may come to a different conclusion than Roger. I think Luffy will come to the same conclusion Rocks had. The whole point as to why Roger seemingly fought with Rocks on GV, when they should be on the same side, is because of their differing interpretations of their fundamental worldview.
TLDR: Rocks went to Laugh Tale & found what would be called the One Piece before Roger. That's why he went to Imu and that's what kicked off his real pirate journey. Luffy's interpretation of the VC will coincide with Rocks.
The point is that he went to Raftel BEFORE when we first saw him. He went on a solo journey, finding all the poneglyphs and went to Raftel, THEN he went to talk to Imu, knowing he couldn't do anything yet. That's when we start to see his own journey.
There’s 100% 2 Nikas
i think offscreen bb is when rocks takes possession, coz ch 1156 spoilers, rocks fought akainu's dad, and he defeated him offdcreen. so i think mayb offscreen bb is when rocks takes possession
yep, see, davy jones might be the evil nika, and since imu most prob betrayed him, he might have placed a curse on imu to bring him out of that cell deep under the water, thats why mayb imy trynna flood the world, so davy becomes free
agreed
I think as long as a woman has been a resident on Amazon lily, all her children will be female. Unless the father has some extra potent sperm
yea the timeline things makes this more interesting/heartbreaking because maybe the love sickness wasn’t due to Dragon, but actually having to let go of her baby. This is all head cannon shit, but it’s interesting since Boa and her sisters were kidnapped the same year that Luffy was born, what if Boa and her sisters got taken due to Dragon’s possible involvement with the Kuja pirates. With that, Tritoma wouldn’t want anything to do with Dragon knowing how risky/dangerous that life would be. Then soon after she gave birth to Luffy, with only a few knowing about it. The reason that she didn’t raise him could be due to worrying that she might lose him just like she did with Boa and her sisters and also due to being the kid of the most wanted man. Tritoma or somebody trustworthy brought the baby to Garp, knowing he would be the best person to protect him. Six years later, Tritoma would die due to love sickness and the heartbreaking factor is that everyone in the Kuja tribe believe it was due to someone she had romantic feelings over since that’s what has happened in the past, but it turned out it was her never seeing and raising her baby. This would also add to why Dragon can’t commit to seeing his kid due to his guilt of the loss of Luffy’s mom
I have a theory, the thriller bark is actually the god valley island, when strawhats arrived at thriller bark , nami said that this island was not on her logpost, and brook said obviously since it came here from the west blue. There were corpses of old members of the rocks pirates on that island and there were so many injured dead people who were in reality the slaves and people who lost their lives. I want to add that I think brook was also present in the god valley incident and was actually a holy knight because we have seen him in gunko's past, and gunko was seen with imu(so probably she used to hangout with brook a holy knight as a kid and she ate the arrow fruit, brook knew about it and reported it to elder who later told imu and thats how gunki ended up with imu sama) and brook knew thriller bark came from west blue because he was on that island and when imu took gunko, he left the holy knights and hence him and his whole crew was eliminated so that no one knew about imu's existance. what do you guys think?
It's an interesting take nonetheless.
It is very likely, however, some of the point you made has already been debunked.
- Brook was the leader of a battle convoy in a certain kingdom before he chased his dream to become a pirate and then joined the rumbar pirates.
- We know so very little of the aftermath of GV, but the corpses can be explained. After the disbandment, most of the rocks members gained notoriety as their own crew's captain (Newgate, Shiki, Captain John, Silver Axe, Big Mom, Kaido etc) although some members like Ganzui, Barbel and Don Marlon's fate has yet to be revealed.
- Same point as number 2. Moria and Hogback were collecting corpses to create an army of undeads for obvious reason.
- Except we know what befell the fate of the rumbar pirates.
- Gunko's past is yet to be revealed and how it is connected to Brook's. Their chance encounter could be the result of reverie. Methinks. Or she could have been a commoner who was then recruited by Imu and joined the World Noble i.e. scouted like Loki.
- Same point as number 5. Brook had a formal education and as a knight of a kingdom possibly affiliated with the WG, he was made aware of the HK's existence. Fyi Fraudgon, who had a brief stay as a marine, was aware of their existence.
- It is open to interpretations to what happened to the island of the God Valley... But you could lean towards GV suffering the similar fate as Lulusia with how Sengoku worded it.
Well it's a pretty old event but maybe it wasn't Blackbeard who ate the gura gura no mi, but one of his rings, we know that objects can eat them too but only the world government knows how to do it, maybe blackbeard found the secret
I think Loki will dies at the end of this arc
A. He is too big to fit on boat
B. Straw hats don’t need giants on their side they only need to prevent imu from getting giants on her side
C. He is a bad guy
A. He doesn't necessarily has to join
B. Mural depicts an ancient giant fighting alongside Nika
C. He's not a bad guy. Just misunderstood.
Where was confirmed is Akainu dad? bruh
watch this be Rocks and Garling's dynamic
Everyone thinks Rocks D. Xebec is somehow connected to Buggy or that Buggy might be his son but people forget there’s another character in One Piece with the last name Clown Caesar Clown.
Tritoma's unrequited love death wasnt thru Dragon necessarily. The unrequited love doesn't have to be romantic love. I think for Tritoma, it was unrequited familial love. She was separated from Luffy at birth to protect Luffy due to him being the son of the worlds top criminal and a kuja empress. Tritoma had love sickness from being away from LUFFY.
Oh, I forgot to mention... Brook became a pirate some 52 years ago, and was stuck in the florian triangle for 50 years or so, therefore he was not present during GV incident like you suggested. Roger was not an established pirate by the time of his voyage.
quick theory: revolutionaries are the ones attacking marijoise, BB anticipated this and exploits the situation in his favour, leaving hachinosu undefended, which the cross guild will exploit to their advantage and attack to steal poneglyph-copies, maybe even pudding.
If this is true, how could you explain the places where the other straw hats were sent?
Pretty interesting but unreasonable. It makes BB get 10 or more dfs at a time (similar to All for One in MHA) and the strongest among the strongest. Furthermore, this makes the series less exciting because it breaks only one df for one person rule in the One Piece world.
Furthermore, if WG knew this, they would've already used that method and could've created a much stronger df army compared to Kaido's Beast pirates.
What do you think?
If that's true, how could you explain the places where other straw hats were sent? I don't think Kuma knew all about straw members.
As I said, I don't think Kuma knew all about straw hat members in detail including their abilities, weaknesses, etc.
And you're right - Luffy didn't know how to use haki at that time. But more precisely, he learned haki from Rayleigh not from Kuja pirates. They only did one important thing - the introduction of Haki, I think.
Yeah that's right
That one is far from confirmed, but considering the group of zombies he is with has three rocks pirates confirmed (Ganzui, John and Bastar) a zombie with a silver axe and a zombie with claws that look like two other rocks members, it’s very plausible that zombie is the fishman from rocks
Gil bastar isn’t in this image but he is a confirmed rocks zombie
This is not him
TL;DR: Higurashi might be disguised as Silver Axe
We know Higurashi has some ties to at least Shiki (given her having his appearance) and possibly Kaido (given the fact she managed to rope him into her plans). This leads me to believe she is currently hidden amongst the Rocks pirates, and one of the members we've seen is her in disguise. My first guess was Don Marlon given the fact he showed up with zero previous mentions, but now I'm leaning more towards Kyo.
I believe the grave in Wano belonging to a hero born in West Blue will turn out to be Silver Axe's, but with the twist that he died years before he appeared this chapter, but noone found out due to Wano's isolation.
I think Higurashi is exploiting his reputation to join a crew filled with strong people she can use for her Wano takeover plan.
This also explains why we see his appearance change on pirate island. While yes it could be Urouges fruit, I find it odd that one measly shove with a leg would buff someone up that much if it truly transfers damage into strength. I think another route to go is rather that its Higurashi swapping between different appearances saved up using the clone clone fruit
This might be a stretch but i think Davy jones and Joy boy are the same person, meaning Joy boy's real name is Davy jones.
Joyboy is obviously not the person's real name but a pirate name like straw hat, big mom etc. the D that people carry has to do with joyboy and Davy jones being someone who was cursed by the devil plus all the goofy games that are played fits.
I think buggy’s and shanks arcs are tied together.. like luffy will take action against shanks, cause what happened with barto, and while that happens buggy will aid the red hair and reaffirms their bonds and wishes to see Rogers dream achieved through luffy. Or something similar like that
damn you didn’t have to repeat yourself, but knowing how smart Kuma is, id assume he would’ve studied the strawhats after meeting them in thriller bark and that’s why each of them were sent to islands that fit improving their skills
i totally forgot about the kuja tribe were masters of haki
I think loki will be a case similar to vivi or yamato, part of the crew but still stay on thier island to nurish them
but loki bully people vivi and yamato nu bully
anyone find it curious the John's zombie acts very similarly to John? Zoro and Sanji retained their defining characteristics, the only defining characteristic of john we have so far is that he's an alcoholic, that his Zombie also shares. Every other zombies personalities we see come from the shadow.
I cant be the only one whos noticed
What would happen if Moria takes your shadow, kills you, then puts your shadow back into your fresh corpse? I feel like thats what happened to John. His body seems pretty intact and not cobbled together too. Question remains as to why. Currently thinking Moria was testing to see if he could force the knowledge of his treasure out of him by making him his servant
oh JK I forgot about the part where the shadow disappears if the body dies. But that makes it even more confusing as to why John's zombie is the way he is. It cant be an accident or Moria chose an alchoholic by happenstance
Let's get one thing straight. It was a way to nurture their growth as it was evident to him that they were not ready for the New World.
You're somewhat right on the dot, however, Kuma was shown following their exploits. When he encountered the crew during TB, Kuma was naming everyone and their title correctly, even knowing Sogeking was Usopp, so it's easy to assume he knew fairy well about everybody's position in the crew.
He also antagonises them to assess their strength and their loyalty towards Luffy, which he comments later about how exceptional his crewmates are.
He later mentions how he won't be around to witness their growth.
Make sense. But I think the reason why Kuma named each straw hat correctly was due to his cyborgification by Vegapunk. As you know, Pacifista has detailed information about almost all pirates, including their names and bounty.
The entire known history of One Piece revolves around Imu, Luffy (plus Roger and Joyboy), and Blackbeard (plus Xebec and probably Davy Jones), and the final battle will be between these three sides. I know there's other big players like Dragon and Shanks, but they are simply not as influential as the main three sides, and will ultimately align with one of them. I also know this might not account for the First World, but events before the Void Century are too unknown to be able to accurately speculate about (although, you could try to extrapolate the three sides to certain gods mentioned in places like the Harley, with Luffy -> Nika/the Sun God already being done).
i think the revos are only necessary for the day after, i agree with you that i think luffy, bb, and imu are the three biggest players in all this. thats also part of why im such a believer in BB taking pluton. it just seems like such a nice fit for each of the factions to have an ancient weapon. Oops this is theories i was wondering why the timeout was so long. thought i was in serious
Just in recent times alone, Xebec met Imu and was determined to dethrone Imu to become king of the world. Xebec made a plan to accomplish this, but the World Government managed to thwart this plan by stealing 6 objects from Hachinosu, including the paw paw fruit and the azure dragon fruit (I don't know if both or either of the fruits Xebec was talking about in chapter 1156 were here though, or why these 6 objects/fruits were so important exactly). Xebec went to God Valley to get them back and was ultimately defeated due to the overwhelming forces of Roger and his crew, Garp and the marines, and Garling and other World Government members, along with Xebec's crew dissolving and each doing their own things. However, Xebec was almost certainly doomed to fail anyway because, from what we know, he never learned about the One Piece.
Xebec was likely too involved in plotting to take down Imu to fully explore the world and discover the One Piece, which almost certainly is a necessity in defeating Imu. This is where Roger comes in and, because of his love for adventuring, successfully reaches Lodestar Island, learns about the Road Poneglyphs and Laugh Tale, and eventually manages to find the One Piece. Now that the One Piece is discovered, even though both Xebec and Roger themselves are out of the picture, their wills were inhereted by Blackbeard and Luffy.
Blackbeard is going to continue Xebec's plan (he likely learned about it through something like a logbook written by Xebec), but he will now have the knowledge that the One Piece exists, and will go for it to complete the plan. On the other hand, Luffy loves adventure just like Roger, and he wants to find the One Piece to become the king of the pirates. In the process he will in some way come into major conflict with Imu and Blackbeard, because they want to find the One Piece too, and they would also likely get in the way of whatever Luffy's true dream is.
All of these could very easily be extrapolated into the Void Century with what we already know with the Ancient Kingdom and 20 nations, but it's a lot harder to be sure with how little we know of the specific details of the Void Century, but I'll try and have a little fun taking a crack at it.
I might be crazy, but what if there was something of a role reversal in the void century. What if Imu during the void century was in the role that Xebec and Blackbeard have in recent times, and what if Davy Jones was in the role that Imu is currently in. Davy Jones could have been the nigh immortal ruler of an oppressive, World Government-like, Ancient Kingdom and Imu could have been the one plotting to bring him down, with part of that plan being allying 19 other nations to help fight. Joyboy would be an adventure loving figure similar to Luffy, and he may have been labeled a pirate due to breaking a certain rule that Davy Jones and/or Imu had, and that could have forced joyboy to fight against them.
I just realized that theory is actually a lot more supported in the Viz translation than TCB, because in chapter 1155 Xebec calls himself a Davy Jonseian pirate in the TCB translation, implying Davy Jones was a pirate himself, but the Viz translation says Xebec was a worshipper of Davy Jones, which could support that Xebec wanted to reinstate the Davy Jones regime that Imu dethroned
I was thinking about other theories and starting to connect some dots and i have a conclusion that Oda meant to create Blackbeard's character to symbolize a terrorist.
D was a brand for slaves ( Dorei ), not a family name.
The will of D is the will to be free.
The slaves want freedom.
These slaves who pursue freedom often become stronger than others because they have such strong dreams, and their dreams become reality ( Devil Fruit Origins ). And people's dreams never die.
Now this is the contrast between Luffy and Blackbeard.
To achieve this freedom there are some slaves that rise with hope and there are some that rise with hatred or anger or will for power.
Blackbeard's will for freedom is so strong he wants the world for himself. He declared it, spreading terror and fear into the world. He wants freedom by taking over the whole world instead of the opposite (Nika) which is liberating it.
This is why the van augur panel "the world" exists.
We don't know yet why BB hates the world but we see the panel where he was crying as a kid so we definitely know he suffered.
I believe this is Oda's representation of terrorists, where oppression is answered with hatred.
This part is loosely adapted from @joyboytv212 on TikTok;
- Imu was separate from lily and had the Ope Ope no mi
- He loved her and wanted to be with her, but she didn’t reciprocate.
- Maybe she was in love with joyboy, or just wanted to be with him and his crew forever, opposing and abandoning Imu
My part of the theory/elaboration on some small parts:
- The eternal life surgery with the Ope Ope no mi doesn’t just “extend life” and kill the user, it kills the user because it combines their souls into one person (the non-user)
- Imu basically forced Lily to be with him forever, putting his soul into her body and extending her life.
- This is why they speak with two voices, a mixture of feminine and masculine voices
- Maybe the surgery isn’t literally eternal life, but for an extended time or until a persons souls is reborn… etc. Maybe Imu’s current body is even vivi’s mother’s and he has been stealing the bodies of Lily’s direct descendants to keep alive. maybe this is why he is targeting Vivi.
Additional part of the theory:
- If Xebec had the Ope Ope, he put his soul into his son’s body to extend his life. Unlike Imu who has two seemingly active souls at once, Blackbeard swaps between his father and his. If devil fruits are maybe per-soul limited and not per body… it could work.
- kinda wild side thought; xebecbeard wanted Moria so bad so maybe he could move both souls into his old body through shadow, and regain his peak strength? Not sure, basically to revive himself. Idk didn’t really flesh this thought out but wanted to write it out
Maybe he wants to kill law so he can get a third soul of a powerful person alongside his and teach’s.
Idk that’s all I got ✌️
In fairness we havent seen a lot of Johns original character to say its so much the same as his zombie version other than being generally an alcoholic (as you mentioned) which could just as easily be justified by a muscle memory or biological dependance or smth. I think what would make the most sense is Haki, given we know imbuement can work with objects its not a stretch if your Haki is strong enough you could to some capacity maybe leave your own imprint in your own body if a power like Moria's rips you out of it... It would also imply that Ryuma was more lucid than first acreddited in spite of harboring Brooks shadow. Its an abstract talking point but it is interesting to think about.
The nightmare creatures that Killingham summoned kinda narrows down the possibilities for for Loki's Devil Fruit. So the top contenders are Nika the Destroyer, Fenrir, Jormungandr, and Nidhoggr.
Alternatively, it could be Surtr, the herald of Ragnarok or the God of War, Elbaph
Fantastic theory and I agree, that's what I thought while reading the chapter too! I was wondering all this time where was Higurashi, because there's no way she wasn't associated with Rocks at all, and seeing this character suddenly go from a skinny person to one big dude was very suspicious. I agree with your theory, for me, this is Higurashi.
There's also the possibility of it being Ymir, the primordial giant
thank you, glad you agree
Perhaps the God Elbaph is based on Ymir
Conq haki disease is 100% real
What does this mean
The cause of death of both Roger and WB (well, not death – Roger was terminally ill and WB as well, from an incurable disease, the overuse of conqueror’s Haki)
This is really good. Only thing that doesn’t fit is that fruit doesn’t increase your strength, transforming into silver axe wouldn’t allow her to grab the guy by the Face if she didn’t have that strength to begin with.
that is true and i did consider this when writing. i dont have a proper explanation for this, but im willing to suspend my disbelief and say the guy might be that weak and she might be that strong
like not super strong, but maybe as strong as Alpha. Maybe she practiced some of the same techniques as Lao G, or she has some rokushiki techniques
actually, now that im looking at it, I think it does actually copy sheer physical strength
it said it does copy their physique, which I think includes stuff like muscle mass.
We have the example of Namis body being "not physically conditioned for it", which to me means the difference in musculature is not purely visual
The dragon in the harley mural is hanging from the top of the tree, so that might be an indication. Honestly lots of ways for this to go. We have to consider what the alabasta gods could indicate, since we see the jackal (wolf), falcon (roc), and serpent (dragon).
If Silver Axe was dead years prior when would Higurashi have touched his face? Unless his body was well preserved? From what I recall of the Mane Mane Fruit isnt current physical appearance upon time of storing the clone rather significant?
there are several ways around this. The main two explainations I have are:
- (assuming Silver Axe is from Wano) she couldve touched him before he left the country (since we dont know how long ago he left to sea)
- He couldve returned to Wano at some point, and then either died by natural means or been taken out by rival yakuza, with Higurashi managing to touch him before he died
Or Higurashi cops a feat and killed him with voodoo or smth
she not-so indirectly managed to merc Oden without needing to lift a finger so I would say its reasonable enough to infer, but other than that relatively navigable detail the broader theory stands on its own merits, keep it cooking 🤝
nice, I will
There are likely other God Fruits other than Nika. Though Loki himself says he's the Sun God.
100% other god fruits other than Nika. Chopper's is VERY likely one, possible that Dragon has one too. Possible BB has one too with the Yami Yami no Mi
If the Yami is a God Fruit, then perhaps BB will get an actual logia
if when awakened, it becomes a mythical zoan (Elbaf version of the Sun God) then it'll gain the properties of all DF types, and it could b stronger than Nika
All hope is not lost for Luffy
unfortunately the strongest Haki of all, the color of the supreme King, likely drains ur life 2 hell 💔
regardless, for Luffy I think the effects would prob be either far diminished or non-existent since he has access to a mythical zoan
Fortunately, he will be cured by the ultimate panacea
ohhhh good point tbf
Oh wow I don’t know why I was so sure it didn’t copy power. Could swear I had read it on an sbs or something. It’s even more likely it’s her now.
Cant blame ya, I also thought the same
but glad you agree that its even more plausible now

What do y'all think about this theory? If there is a traitor, it should be either Law or Blackbeard. Blackbeard is straight-up evil. He already betrayed enough. Law got the celestial dragon. Maybe Doffy would come back and betray to be a celestial dragon?
Could you elaborate on this in more detail? I'm not sure if other Conq haki users, like Garp, are suffering from a disease.
Its likely already been done but im currently compiling my own document of One Piece parallels with real world historical/cultural/artistic inspirations and reference points.
Heres just a short exerpt I have on Blackbeard for instance—
Black Beard: Other than Edward Teach, Blackbeard also has displayed similarities to William Kidd, specifically William Kidd as depicted in the 1945 film "Captain Kidd" where he recruits a crew of inmates from the Marshalsea and Newgate prisons (as One Piece Blackbeard did at Impel Down). This differs from historical record as although William Kidd did captain a crew of prisoners, they were conscripted to him by the English government during his tenure as a Privateer, he abandoned that particular crew to avoid potential mutiny as his prior crew had mutinied against him before, Newgate prison was also where he was detained prior to his execution.
—Oda has a tendancy to overlap events and figures into character amalgams and ive been having a lot of fun finding them in irl history.
The dissolution of the Warlord system can also be compared to the abolishment of Privateering in 1856, and how in One Piece the Navy can at will cut ties with Sword Members is not at all dissimilar to how continued Privateering post abolishment was "unofficially supported" as you could face equal potential of penalty as of reward depending on a number of different factors, the key ones being:
-Duration and parameters of commission.
-If you targeted vessels with significant enough political ties to government interests after treaties were made.
-Specific sovereign and the time period.
So the first world . People were used as slave to harvest the power of the sun, they basically bomb destroyed their planet (Moon) and they moved to earth to start over again using a ship that can fly
Binks was farmer but he wanted to go on an adventure with his friends all over the world and have fun and drink. He wanted to feel liberated. His Sake is probably a fuel for something special. Maybe when you drink this special Sake, your dreams come true and you feel free
I believe Garp used it to a less substantial degree, seeing as how he seems pretty unaffected by it. I believe by nature, conquerors haki does the equivalent of draining your life force, your vigor, in exchange for power. Conquerors haki is the most unique haki, in that it seems like it ’chooses’ those with the strongest drives as its wielders. We know swords that drain your haki have a severe effect on your body’s condition, and I believe conqueror’s is no exception, but to a higher degree. If I had to guess why WB had , I’d say it’s because of his frequent conquerors clashes with Roger.
Garp is implied to have clashed with Roger as much as or more than WB did. Even if he slowed down his usage, the three would have all used haki to a similar degree in their youth and they all ended up very differently. Roger was considered terminally ill and beyond treatment. WB developed an illness that slowly debilitated him into old age. Garp showed no sign of haki fatigue and could still use it to full effect even in modern day.
Add in people like Kaido or Shanks who have been fighting for decades with no symptoms and the connection is harder to establish. The only connection haki had to either of the illnesses was the time WB couldn’t manifest a conqueror’s blast because his heart couldn’t take it. And that is easily enough understood as a result of his body being too ravaged by disease to keep up with his will.
It’s an interesting thought. However Garp alone kills this idea, as far as I see it
Shanks had the mark of the Abyss and Kaido has a mythical Zoan. As far as Garp, I've no idea. I theorize it's somewhat related to the way in which WB and Garp lived their lives, one still holding a tremendously meaningful title and position, while the other plays the role of a vice admiral, barely doing any missions at all. It's also possible Garp has the Conqueror's haki disease, because to call it a disease is slightly disingenuous -- it's more of the consequence of your life force being ripped and exchanged for power, great power, so naturally those who use it less will suffer from it at a far less grave degree, while those who keep living the life of a conqueror will go sooner.
Thats a rather significant concession to make if you cant rationally bridge it, you talk about this theory in certain terms as though its a given when in putting the idea forward should be making sure your groundwork for the premise has legs to stand on in the first place.
Also if youre willing to concede that youre not sure about Garp then how do you rationalize Rayleigh and Gaban? They too would have been right there at Rogers side during countless clashes and seen a comparable amount of haki use but in spite of that still have significantly longer lifespans and no sign of terminal illness as a result.
true. I think i'm right about the trigger, though I'm not sure if there's another stipulating cause, since there seems to be more non-ill hakimen than ill.
Kaido having a Mythical Zoan also doesnt really seem like a consistent out as we have seen Luffy afflicted with life-threatening sicknesses at multiple points during the story typically needing external medical attention to rectify the matter (Iva at Impel Down, Reiju at the start of Wholecake, etc.) it only works if we're to assume Mythical Zoans only provide insulation to the potentially adverse effects of prolonged haki use exclusively, but there would need to be some kind of confimation of that, which currently there really hasnt been any. The other argument you could attempt to make is that its only awakened Mythical Zoans that provide potential insulation but that would be even harder to prove as its not even confirmed if Kaido was awakened and theres been greater indication that he wasnt, not to mention youd still have to address the prior issue first.
though, looking back at it now, I notice something possibly significant. Roger and Whitebeard seem to use a specific type of Conqueror's Haki, separate from ACoC, signified by its black and red coloring. As far as I'm aware, we haven't seen Rayleigh nor Gaban use this type of Haki, but we know from WB and Roger's clashes that they at least used it in their clashes. The only time we've seen Shanks use this type of Haki is when mimicking Roger's Kamusari, and that's it (or at least I'm pretty sure that's it) Kaido also uses this haki in his fight against Luffy, but again, he has a mythical Zoan.
If youre talking about anime coloring thats never been consistent, but youre also sliding down a very slippery slope of justifying one theory with another theory.
I don't think Mythical Zoans provide a specialized resistance, but more so a consequential one. This is heavily speculative, but I think due to the nature of dragons in Japanese mythology living upwards of a thousand years, it isn't far-fetched to think that Kaido's fruit would give him a prolonged lifespan and vitality (which would naturally allow him to use Supreme King Haki to a higher extent)
Luffy did not awaken the Nika fruit, so I don't see how him being afflicted by ailments prior to awakening it would be relevant in the matter. Also, it's been hinted at that Luffy's lifespan would be greatly reduced due to his extreme use of gears by Ivankov, which would be naturally resolved by awakening the Nika fruit (or so I believe, again, it's mostly all speculation)
I can agree on its lack of consistency, but the anime in regards to conqueror's haki specifically isn't plagued by inconsistencies, unless you can point them out to me, of course.
In terms of visual representation? Its incredibly inconsistent, the source material represents conquerers almost exclusively as black lighning, so it having any color other than black is an inconsistency in the first place. Not to mention the earliest (in a lot of cases retconned) examples of conquerers use have absolutely no visual indicator at all... How the anime adapts all haki isnt aligned with whats shown in the manga and im not saying it should be but im saying if youre inferring information from what is almost exclusively just a difference in visual medium I dont think its a very strong argument.
Also I wasnt saying awakening was pertinent to the potential aptitudes that may or may not be associated with Mythical Zoans, I was actually saying it wasnt likely, specifically relative to the proposed idea of haki fatigue/illness. You also concede that youre only speculating and that there isnt actually any solid confirmation of what youre describing.
fair point, but saying that because conqueror's haki nearly two decades ago had no visual indicator isn't representative. It's very likely that the reason we don't see any type of haki before timeskip is because we aren't aware of haki, seeing as how post-TS we see it in its entirety. Even when Luffy uses Conqueror's haki pre-TS, he undoubtedly uses it intuitively, so we obviously won't see the color of conquerors. As for anime adaptation of conqueror's haki, it's safe to say it's as close as you can get to its true coloring. Oda is likely involved in ambiguous visual representations of elements like haki, though again this is purely my belief.
Yes. This is purely speculation, since there is no concise information, and neither will there be (at least for a while), of the illness Roger and WB succumbed to, making it conjecture. All theories are by nature conjecture, though, so I don't know what you take offense to in regards to the lack of confirmation -- if there was confirmation, it wouldn't be a theory.
But you can have a theory that is consistent with all other information we have available and youve basically been attempting to bridge those inconsistencies with other theories that are also lacking relevant information.
And its not that im taking particular offense to it its that every time I poke a hole in your reasoning its met with "but im just speculating" as opposed to actually developing rational solutions to develop a more viable theory.
I think Bink's sake is about bringing freedom and liberation to others. He was never shipping sake, he was shipping freedom
Guys I think I found out what the one piece is
please, support a small genius theorist like me. I have many other theories up my sleeve too
I have a strong theory that Roger named the final island what it is because the one piece was a short story written by Joyboy to make people laugh. Hence the name Laughtale
I have a theory that lunarian came from moon, the lunarian name means people from moon. The people of skypiea were the cousin race of lunarians, just a lot weaker but they were more fertile so they got more numbers to overwhelm the lunarians. The lunarians fled to red line and got captured by celestial dragons for their exotic coulour, wings and abilitie. They went extinct and had king left but Luffy's mother was a lunarian or a lunarian with human genetics. Young lunarian like King knew about Joyboy so Luffy's mom probably knew abou the prophecy of joyboy, but she was caputured by the world government, Dragon was enraged and started a rebellion with outcasts like his previous lover, Kuma is a bucaneer, Kuma was probably bullied because he is a trans and Sabo was a royal who ran away, he was a outcast as well, rebelled against the world government while being an admiral. Their is also a story about this and it goes like this. Once upon time there was a king(Imu), the king had no competition and had 4 pets, a dragon(Dragon), a pheasant(Kuzan), a dog(Sakazuki) and a monkey(Kizaru), the dragon found out how evil the king was and ran away, the pheasant could fly and he was not in the king's control so he ran away too, the dog was too loyal to run away and the monkey was a little braindead and not smart enought to think about it, so atlast the king had two pet left. This may not seem parallel to our timeline because Kuzan may not be an admiral in the time of Dragon but this the story about who ran away. Support me for more
I think Davy Jones's locker is Ancient Kingdom and the Ancient Kingdom is at the bottom of the sea, got sunk the same way Lulusia did. It might be under Enies Lobby or at the florian triangle. Why Celestials are flooding the world even this day is their mission to hide it deeper and deeper. The man with the burn scar offers an alternative way there with it's giant whirlpools they we're talking about.
Davy Jones also could be Joyboy, since the name "Joyboy" doesn't sound a real name, more of an nickname just like Luffy is often spoken as Mugiwara / Straw Hat
If Luffy is half Lunarian, why do you propose he doesn't have the signature fire on his back?
he has not awakened it, red hawk or red roc are fire attacks, even though that may come from his fruit power but still it may be a hint
Luffy is going to liberate all the giants from imus power and then loki will join the crew cus he realizes luffy is joyboy/nika
not a food channel. stop cooking
"Kuma was probably bullied because he is a trans" what? where has there been any kind of indication that Kuma is trans? Let alone if he was bullied for it.
The closest comparison I could make to your "Kings 4 pets" story is the Japanese folk tale; The Tale of Momotarō, which is a motif Oda uses in multiple different ways throughout One Piece, most significantly during Wano. Other than there being a pheasant, a monkey and a dog, nothing else you described really matches, theres no dragon, theres no king and the overall plot just doesnt corrrelate.
Luffy having fire attacks being an indicator of Lunarian heritage directly is a significant reach, as we have seen fire attacks from characters like Doflamingo and Sanji as well. On Sanji; he hadnt awakened his Germa enhancements until Wano, so every fire attack he made before hand was without them. Luffy inheriting Ace's will and the mere act of believing in that will to the point of it producing fire in his attacks is not only more consistent its also got visual and narrative vetting behind it.
Its explained thats it with friction not really aces will..
Well that too, still makes more sense than Luffy being a Lunarian tbh
the original designs for lunarians were very demonic looking, somewhat similar to Imu turning the giants into demons. Wings were also potentially optional.
This could be tied to D and luffy. It could also be tied to Imu. It might also suggest a common ancestor between giants and lunarians. They def. have the closest designs to angels/demons in one piece as a tribe.
Thats more of kings design then lunarians imo like oda could have thought of lunarians after kings intro
King was introduced, and not that long after he was hinted at being a rare tribe, so I think Oda knew he was a lunarian well before his introduction.
Hello everyone, just a general reminder to keep theories longer than just 1 sentence and to share evidence with them, or at least speculative reasonings. (No other anime comparisons allowed either).
If you come back to this channel to see your message omitted, those would be the reasons why. 🙏
I meant Ivankov, spelling error
Guys i have a theory what if each member of the d clan could eat 2 devil fruits but only rocks and blackbeard know it
Why only d clan
That's right, it's good and all that you told us what the theory is, but why? This chat has a certain standard to uphold, so evidenced-backing of theories are heavily desired here
It seems very difficult to push for this idea, since as the story implicated, Blackbeard's multi-devil fruit usage came from his abnormal body, not his D. Initial
Even if this idea were somehow true, it'd be hasty to include Rocks in this knowledge as well. Rocks did mention there are 2 fruits of importance to him, but he doesn't mention actually eating them both himself. It's actually the contrary, as Rocks states it'd be most suitable for King Harald to eat the Elbaph fruit.
or blackbeard's fruit can supress the wills of other fruit, that's why it can nullify other fruit powers, so blackbeard may not be able to use quake fruit at full power because it has supressed will
Well thats true
My best theory for why Blackbeard can eat two devil fruits is that it's a property of the darkness fruit's awakening. His awakening, however, can only be used when the environment around him is completely dark. Light nerfs him like Crocodile is nerfed by water. So he put the blanket over him and Whitebeard to basically unlock his fruit's full potential. Why it has those properties? Well, normally, he can disable devil fruit powers. Maybe his full potential is to disable the harmful effects of eating multiple devil fruits.
your theory is close to mine
True, but I clarified that it had to do with his awakening and that it could only be used while he was under that blanket, protected from the sun.
I also believe his fruit has intangibility in the darkness and that sunlight is to BB like water to Crocodrile. But it has been heavily hinted that something is different in Blackbeard physically. His doctor was very clear about it.
So can Kizaru beat Blackbeard, if Blackbeard is weak to sun light than that makes sense how luffy can beat bb
Kizaru would definitely have an advantage against Blackbeard if the theory is true yes.
comparing admiral and yonko makes me wonder the difference in power between a yonko and admiral, I mean wb was a yonko and dog walked Akainu and Greenbull pooped his pants by Shank's haki, are admiral that much weaker than yonko
Finally, I really needed 1 month to answer.
I completely agree that the hints to Navigation and Gaban being on Elbaf will lead us to the information that Shanks is on Lodestar, the final island you can reach with navigation. Whether or not its the arc immediately after Elbaf doesnt matter, we also got the information that Fishman Island is soon after Water 7 but then so many interruptions happened. Although it is a different time now and Oda probably wants to do it faster.
Also you made me realize that I want to know why Elbaf was so educated in navigation and if its the reason why Gaban moved to Elbaf in the first place, I hope he met Harald in the timespan between 24-14 years ago where he couldve lived on Elbaf while Harald was still alive.
But in that case I think Gaban would give Nami another Crocus/Left minister/Inu and Neko type update on logposes and reveal theyre almost at the end. Nami wants to follow the logpose to the end which is Lodestar, so if Loki had Shanks vivrecard I think that would indeed be an interruption to another island if the followed it. Or Luffy just throws the Vivrecard away because he wants to find Shanks on his own lol, similar to the Laugh Tale eternal pose thing, and then they find Shanks on Lodestar anyway. I really think they will travel the final stretch up to Lodestar via Logpose so idk, maybe Loki inherited some navigation knowledge from Harald like Oden inherited how to read poneglyphs from Sukiyaki and thats how Loki can know where exactly Shanks is.
The other options by technicality will most likely be part of the Elbaf arc. Except if the Astral World is a whole other thing or they actually go to Birka itself (or to the moon?) I agree we will definitely go to all 3 worlds and the strawhats will climb up the Adam tree.
I cant say much about Mosa or the Man marked by flames yet, but I hope Vivi will find them in Elbaf already, she even met Dorry and Broggy with them and knows Luffy and Usopp wanted to go to Elbaf ever since, she knows they were on Egghead, the giant pirates came to help and Elbaf is close to that island, so it shouldnt be that hard for her to find out where they are now. Maybe its hard to convince Morgans to go to Elbaf tho.
The craziest type of interruption I mentioned before is definitely the Mariejois Invasion. Most people think the strawhats wont go there until the final war, but a lot of things are happening earlier than people thought and Mariejois is already in a sea of flames, so perhaps the final war is happening in multiple rounds: 1. Mariejois 2. Laugh Tale 3. All across the world but mostly Mariejois again. And well now we know Rocks invaded Mariejois and even was in the flowerroom before his whole pirate career, so maybe this was supposed to warm us up for the first strawhats invasion in Mariejois. It would be kinda annoying if Vivi reached Elbaf right as Imu is there and immediately gets taken so the strawhats have to save her too, but I cant rule it out.
But back to Lodestar, we will go there for sure, find Shanks there too, maybe even get a 4 way clash between the Yonko because Lodestar is a 4 cross star. Since the Roger pirates found out about Poneglyphs on Lodestar, it probably has a lot of history we have to find out, and it seems like something about it made Roger go to God Valley (referring to his "do you know how I felt the past year"). It either had something to do with the celestial dragons Nation hunts, or something about Rocks, maybe they met there. Which makes it even more likely that the current flashback and Elbaf in general will path the strawhats way to Lodestar Island.
I ain't reading all this
It would make sense for Elbaph Giants to be versed in navigation at least in terms of thematic composition, Giants having naturally long lifespans and only being 1-2 generations removed from the void century as it is, not to mention their presence/reputation for sea-faring, piracy and general ability to cover large scale distances more efficiently based on size alone, both in mass and numbers. Though I would also like to know if theres any greater narrative depth there as well tbf.
I don't really see this. Akainu didn't lose against Whitebeard. He fell into a hole created by Whitebeard, but he managed to get himself out. He also gave Whitebeard a pretty serious injury, potentially a fatal attack that was only delayed by the fact that Whitebeard was running on pure willpower and fury. The reason people think admirals are weaker than emperors is that there are three of them plus a fleet admiral, and tehy were all summoned for a fight against one emperor. However, if you actually look at the battle of Marineford, the marines had the advantage most of the time, including after Whitebeard joined the fight. Yes, Whitebeard destroyed most of Marineford, but that's just because of his hax devil fruit. He was still stonewalled most of the fight and did end up losing too.
Elbaph Giants of earlier eras were known to be the conquerors of the new world, so makes sense they would have decent navigation skills. Although I am curious if the ocean levels were much lower, how many ancient giants could walk from one country to another.
like onigashima back then could probably avoid some of the deeper areas and travel pretty far.
Given the timing of Blackbeard becoming a Warlord right after Alabasta/during Skypiea, that would position him perfectly to avoid any conflict with Kizaru/his Devil Fruit counter, which narratively is pretty satisfying as that was Enel's main foil in Skypiea. If Blackbeard was self aware enough that he couldnt challenge any of the then current admirals in terms of aptitude/power that in it of itself adds extra leverage to him wanting to become a Warlord in the first place in addition to his other more obvious/known motives for doing so.
If he had that much foresight, why did he openly betray the Marines right in front of Kizaru in Marineford?
Well thats why I said "if he was self aware enough" im not talking in absolute terms here, just outlining where the theories merits are. Im pretty sure post-Marineford he also outright states hes not ready to deal with Sakazuki and actively dodges him too, so its not that he was directly challenging the Marines to a direct conflict between himself and them right then and there but taking advantage of the general chaos taking place to get what he wanted and being certain that he would be strong enough to get back out again.
I don't know, until Shanks showed up, he seemed ready to take on all of the marines at once.
No, if that were the case there'd be no barrier preventing Yonko from dominating the entire world's waters as opposed to just the New World, this is a significant factor a lot of ppl who down-scale the Admirals like to omit, another that gets glossed over is the fact Navy HQ was moved into New World waters after Marineford (which tbh was a moot point if you realized Fishman Island wasnt rly gatekept by depth in the first place but moving Navy HQ into Yonko territory directly is almost like Oda basically stating it outright) as well as the fact the World Government has territory IN the New World protected primarily by Admiral presence, if they werent a barrier then Yonko would just claim all that territory for themselves, that factor too predates even Shanks, Kaido, WB, and Big Mom.
That could be interpreted that he was only working in estimates until a metric he actually had experience with showed up and he was able to rationally measure his capability beyond his newfound power. But like I said im not talking in absolutes here, nor saying that the theory is even correct, just pointing out where its narratively satisfying.
Theory: Davy Jones, the Dark-Dark Fruit, and why the Sea Rejects Devil Fruit Users
When I first began consuming One Piece, I was interested in why exactly the Dark-Dark fruit is capable of nullifying devil fruit powers.
In my consideration, I noticed just how suspiciously similar the Dark-Dark fruit's power of nullifying devil fruits is to the Sea, and this caused me to wonder if the Dark-Dark fruit is some sort of Sea-based power. This theory proposes the opposite: it is the Sea that gets its power to nullify devil fruit users from the Dark-Dark Fruit, and not the other way around.
There's only 4 things in One Piece that we've seen are able to nullify Devil Fruit powers: the Sea, Seastone, Haki, and the Dark-Dark fruit.
I'm sure most of the people reading this already softly believe (since it hasn't been 100% confirmed) that awakened Logias grant the user the power to permanently affect the environment. Punk Hazard, a former tropical island was transformed into a half-snow-half-volcano biome after the Kuzan/Akainu fight. This would also provide an explanation for why Enies Lobby has perpetual sunlight (previous user of Kizaru's fruit).
We're told that the Dark-Dark fruit is a Logia. Could a previous awakened user be responsible for the sea "rejecting" or nullifying devil fruit powers because he used his awakening on the sea?
If the Dark-Dark fruit was really one of the two fruits Rocks was after, then it's possible that Davy Jones, whom he worshipped, was a previous user of the Dark-Dark fruit. If Davy Jones used his power on the sea, it would be easy to see how he'd come to be known as the "Sea god". This would make the Dark-Dark fruit a "god" fruit, despite not being a mythical Zoan.
I believe Mankind succumbed by greed decided to inhabit the forbidden sun. The blue planet, the solar systems sun. After stripping the inherent “moons” of their resources. I believe the moons were once inhabited planets.
I'm really into the theory that the Blue Planet is actually a Dyson Sphere.
Vegapunk already stated himself that the ancient technology far exceeded his own by centuries. He was at the point of holograms, instant food, even created his own blood. We have already seen space pirates so we can defer that the space is occupied. The Gorosei also being named after planets also leads me to determine that potentially at one point they occupied entire planets as families or something.
With the added motif of ocean depths being so dark that they drown out all light also parallelling past civilisations buried beneath its waters in that same darkness. It can also supply a reason as to why Sanjuan Wolf can still walk in the ocean without it draining his power since Blackbeard can just have it not affect him.
I like your theory a lot.
imu took over roger, garp, and everyone at god valley using their fruit in order to kill rocks because rocks would have easily overthrown imu. i doubt rocks is actually evil, he kicked kaido in the most recent chapter for talking about forcing people to rocks' loyalty. none of them remembered because of the same reason as gunko, likely a side effect of imu's fruit. laugh tale is them realizing the true nature of imu's weapons and fruit, along with the story of joyboy. they were laughing because they got punked hard, and without the hito hito model nika, they couldn't do anything about it. i say this because of what rayleigh told to luffy regarding the one piece. roger even says to whitebeard "my name is not gold roger, my name is gol D. roger" showing how they not only erased the will of D from roger like they did to ohara, but also imu entirely wiped the island off the map and existence, made gol d. roger a legend, garp a hero, and rocks the worst man alive. shanks was a puppet from imu seeing as how he was a celestial dragon, and went with roger in the name of surveillance. shanks later realized this after roger left him behind and then told him when he came back, and thats why he tried sabotaging the govt as much as possible and now carries a bounty. blackbeard wanted to get it back in blood for roger via ace and whitebeard, because both roger and whitebeard "betrayed" rocks when really it was imu using their fruit ability to possess them as they did to dorry and broggy. teach aint like his daddy though, he took the fake story told by the government and extracted vengeance when in reality it was imu's doing all along, and they all had the same enemy. blackbeard wants to take over the world for selfish reasons, while rocks wanted to take it over to free the world.
If Imu was strong enough to overpower Garp and Roger why doesnt Imu just "take over" Luffy or any of the other Straw Hats in the same way? As opposed to sending the Gods Knights to intercept them at Elbaph?
I can agree that Rocks may not be traditionally evil, especially in the broader scheme of events taking place in the story, but to say that neither Roger or Garp could have any reason to come into conflict with Rocks other than forced coercion seems very short sighted given not just the volume of information we have regarding Rocks and the old generation abroad, but also the sheer amount we still dont know. Disregarding entire character motives and plot threads in favor of Rocks, Garp and Roger being reduced to little more than an Imu victim severely detracts from all of their presence in the narrative.
its the same reason why boa's fruit doesnt work on luffy and why he doesnt simp out but his crew members did. imu already took over dorry and broggy so whose to say he cant, also he did send the gods knights and remote controlled gunko
i actually see it being even more crucial to the story because even roger acknowledged the government's manipulation of their image and the erasure of the will of D
plus why would garp side with the marines still when even aokiji dipped and joined BB?
aokiji was at ohara so you'd think that garp would feel the same way after seeing the atrocities committed by the celestial dragons, dawg is a puppet and his only autonomy is to not step up into an admiral position to maintain at least some of his memory
seeing as gunko had a lapse and remembered brook aokiji likely had a similar thing happen to him when he saw robin again
i see this being the entire reason for this last chapter makin roger look like a simp besides establishing how they all met, roger wasnt nika so he was able to be manipulated
Well thats what im holding in question to you rn, why bother sending resources as valuable as the God's Knights to Elbaph in the fitst place when Imu could just use the Straw Hats for the same means, Imu knew they were headed there directly after Egghead, and its not as though the Gods Knights were that expendable in the first place given how theyre now being recalled to Marie Geoise, and in the worst case would stun lock Luffy into a fight with his own crew to the point it would remove him as a threat in general if it was the matter that he couldnt be manipulated via Imu's influence.
As for Garp and Aokiji they practice different brands of Justice, the core characteristic that defines each member of the Marines, two characters can look at the same event and have completely different interpretations of that event and what course of action to take next as a result, I mean that was the main wedge driving Kuzan and Sakazuki apart in the first place. Conflating a lack of action based on what another character does in contrast doesnt innately then justify what a character would have done in another circumstance, theres a precedent sure, but youre still lacking key contexts not to mention you'd also be then sacrificing that very premise to say "because he was mind controlled".
why would imu reveal his hand that obviously? gyaban already knows they arent immortal and strong enough haki is likely a defense against this. plus why would gunko fight against brook if she really likes his music and then remembers that she knew him? as soon as she has a sting of memories she gets taken over. i see it the same with garp only he's just tryna be as lowkey as possible until he knows his life is not at stake and has been brainwashed into protecting his image of being the hero of the marines. the times where he's been there he clearly remembers at least some of it but still continues to fight for them despite the atrocities, seemingly against his own better judgement. dawg does not feel good abt marineford whatsoever. plus they erased god valley after and somehow shanks was just There. we dunno how roger even met shanks yet
I should also clarify im not saying you're theory is unreasonable, what you're proposing could be confirmed, im just saying I wouldnt find it very substantial in terms of narrative quality as it would retractively detract from the characters involved, I wouldnt call it a lazy writing choice, but definitely not a satisfying one in my opinion.
i think it could pan out to be one of the biggest twists in the story, having the government lie the Entire story, even to the reader, only to find out the real truth of the one piece and the world they're in
whats so funny about being early to laugh tale?
i dont think it was funny at all, i think they were laughing at how easily they were fooled and is why shanks couldnt come with em. cuz when they came back and talked to shanks he was sobbing
they all had the goal of roger becoming the king of the pirates and fought against the marines. if anything youd think that rocks and roger would be friends, could also be that shanks was a hostage but also why tf was roger there to begin with? how did he even know? roger was said to have an ancient weapon so if anything he was more dangerous than rocks
If Imu is that strong what is there to lose in just cutting out the middle man and removing the Straw Hats as a threat in general? You say "reveal his hand" but to who and to what compromise? The Giants?
I never claimed Imu doent have the capacity to overrite the will of others, Im simply stating that if it were the case Imu overrode the will of Garp and Roger at God Valley that would negatively impact on the status of those characters as we know them currently, in spite of acknowledging the fact it would prop up Imu as an even greater threat than what they're percieved as at the moment, though I would argue arbitrarily.
it would impact them because this mythos built around garp and gol d. roger (who they called gold roger and mythicized) would turn out to be propaganda in order to prevent rocks from being seen as a force of good while we as readers have been told the opposite the entire story. which tracks throughout because i believe the full story is just about truth and liberation. imu is most definitely a more powerful threat than anyone is picturing if dorry and broggy are taken over alongside the giants and the other gods knights. maybe he doesnt need full control over the gods knights and the giants dont have strong enough haki to fight his influence. coc haki has a huge role in this fight and if zoro luffy AND gyaban have it imus prolly not focused on fodder hats (in his eyes not mine) but it also doesnt eliminate the possibility of it happening
regarding imu he'd be revealing his hand to anyone that survives or finds out about the information. kinda similar to how he already kinda fucked up by not realizing gyaban was there. the god knights were surprised and imu even took remote control to take gyaban out. gyaban being at elbaph changed the entire trajectory of that fight though, because w/o him there the straw hats would have been absolutely toast
if anything this last chapter humanized the hell out of the roger pirates because roger is a total simp LOL
before this chapter he was just a cut loose undefeated champ but i think it serves as 3 plot points: to show that even roger had to start somewhere, that he is easily manipulated, and that he isnt untouchable
again going back to his conversation with whitebeard about the history of the will of D and where laugh tale is, there is some kind of messed up truth that whitebeard does not want to face, and instead opts for finding family in the corrupt world they live in. when he knows his time is near, he starts the war at marineford in order to get whatever truth out he can
it also makes you wonder why they didnt just merk luffy and worked with law when they were both D clan members AND luffy was wearing the straw hat
would have been easy peasy if they had one gorosei go and kill luffy during romance dawn but that would have also awakened the fruit since he had to die in order for it to awaken
luffy is also a slippery fella
I think youre getting hitched heavily on recency bias that youre not taking into account how retconning for a reveal actively hinders the broader story, but ill write out a more thoughtful response in a bit I need to take a shower rq.
call it a retcon if you will but this has been building since the start of the series in multiple instances. shanks meeting luffy, gold roger's execution and everyone who was there, whitebeard and roger's conversation about the will of D around marineford arc, kaido and big mom's motivations, etc. it may kinda be weird to see it like that but i dont really think its a retcon
if you do though i would love to know why bc people have been theorizing that rocks was blackbeards dad since ages ago and it was actually true
to me calling any of that a retcon is like saying haki was a retcon but somehow luffy hit crocodile by dousing himself in water (???) or was able to use gear 3 when that is very clearly not how rubber works
you'd think itd be the other way around with crocodile like luffy would spray Him with water and he couldnt keep his form or become solid enough to hit but it wasnt
It wouldnt matter if anyone on Elbaph found out about Imu though, first of all because Elbaph is so difficult to get to in the first place to the point only a select few outside of it even know it exists (it being on the grand line already hedges the flock, it being in the new world gatekeeps it further, and on top of that it's actively guarded from outsiders, Imu can pop in and out as they please but thats like the one and only concession to be made) secondly we have seen first hand that even when there is a direct broadcast Imu has the capacity to censor information en mass as we saw with Vegapunk on Egghead, and in spite of that if Imu has the ability to; why wouldnt they just also posess whoever the information leaks to when the potential audience it CAN leak to is already so exclusive?
I’m not saying your theory doesn’t impact the story, in terms of consolidating known information into a single narrative thread it succeeds which is why I’m not questioning its viability on that front, Naruto Shippuden did the same thing with Kaguya and White Zetsu at the expense of Madara, but that’s also where my main criticisms are. I'm not claiming that Gol D. Roger or Garp are indomitable figures that can’t be broken down, or that either ought not to have their character’s further scrutinized or explored, as you've also outlined that proposition wouldn’t be consistent with what we know of either of them, though I'm saying it's an active detriment to the role their characters play in such a significantly leveraged event like God Valley to remove their agency for the sole purpose of propping up Imu when the payoff for that is essentially for a reveal that could ultimately be made in spite of them regardless.
From a meta narrative perspective you could then potentially replace Garp and Roger with any other character and achieve the same result, as in terms of character content their reasoning for even being at God Valley no longer matters the moment Imu is brought into frame. Their motivations hold absolutely 0 sway in the course of events as you propose they would have happened, that in essence is my main problem with the theory.
By recency bias I mean that in acknowledging how Oda depicted Roger’s flaws when confronted by the Kuja Pirates that all of a sudden became a platform to say “well therefore he ought to be vulnerable to Imu as well, and Imu had to have intervened at God Valley.” There’s multiple concessions being made in quick succession for the convenience of expediting a throughline to satisfy your theory, again I’m not saying it doesn’t work, simply that it’s being established at the expense of those characters involved. In terms of broader narrative quality our perspectives also likely vary as a result, and as I have mentioned; I just don’t think that’s a very satisfying conclusion to draw.
Just because a theory can potentially succeed in consolidating multiple plot threads and character narratives together, it doesn’t necessarily mean it satisfies them in a way that also acknowledges each one individually, which Oda is very good at doing and why I doubt your theory will actually be relevant as I have described how it doesn’t succeed in those departments.
A number of corrections:
-You said we don’t know how Roger even met Shanks yet, but that’s incorrect we do. Roger found Shanks in a chest at God Valley, we don’t know the finer details there-in, but we know that’s how Shanks initially joined the Roger Pirates; by in essence potentially being raised by them.
-Luffy has also displayed a level of “lust” before in the story, not to the degree of Roger with Shakuyaku, but it happened at the end of Alabasta during the bath scene, he was affected by Nami’s happiness punch. Although typically considered an inconsistency, its still the exact same amount we’ve seen comparable behaviour from Roger.
I really like your theory a lot. The only issue I have is that not only the ocean, but all bodies of water that submerge the devil fruit users work like that. So did the previous dark-dark user that made the entire ocean nullify devil fruit powers actually go around visiting every single body of water in the world? It's more likely to me that the weakness is an inherent design flaw in the original devil fruits when they were being made somehow. It's impossible to speculate further than that though until we get more information on the void century.
What if Luffys final task is to destroy the red line?
It’s “One Piece” because the world was once one whole, unified piece before it was split by the Red Line.
Imu is actually Davy Jones, the creator of all Devil Fruits. He was originally royalty but took up piracy under a new name, Davy Jones, after he was inspired by Joyboy. He stole Nefertari Lili from Joyboy's crew during a Davy Back Fight (who eventually betrayed him, secretly siding with Joyboy during the war). He wished to destroy the world that was controlled by the Lunarians, the original owners of the Red Line, along with all of their allies. This burning desire for destruction somehow gave birth to all devil fruits and even gave him the Mythical Zoan DEVIL fruit, making him the original devil fruit user and the literal devil of the sea who wishes to drown his sinful enemies in the depths of the ocean. Which is also what devil fruits are all about.
Roger never had dream of becoming pirate king it was morgan who titled him that
And what ancient weapon ?
The only problem is that if imu is Davey Jones that DJ was said to have been cursed by devil to be in depth of world but Mu being the devil is in tops of the world
Pls go read enel cover story
I'm struggling to think of a body of water other than the ocean (saltwater) that has the same effect on devil fruit users. I recall in Wano, the whole crew went to the bath house, and Luffy, Yamato, and Robin seemed totally fine in the water (I can't remember, but Brook and Chopper must have been there as well).
It would be sort of weird if, for example, showering was difficult task for devil fruit users. For some reason, I recall saltwater being specified as the weakness of Devil fruit users, not water in general, but I can't remember where I heard that from. Does anyone know?
Remember in Alabasta how luffy used water (non-salt), and it didn't seem to weaken him? It happened to affect crocodile only because his fruit had a particular type weakness to water/liquid (just like how Luffy's blood worked just as well).
Robin didn't want to get into the water because she didn't want to weaken herself, remember? The trigger seems to be being submerged in water. Otherwise, devil fruit users could just go swimming in a freshwater lake any time they wanted. They can't do that.
Hmm. I guess that's valid. Maybe you could explain that away by saying that all water on Blue Planet is mixed with evaporated ocean water that came down as rain, but idk.
The prop is if its above waist u will drown else its same
I believe DF user can drown in white white sea as well
That makes sense, it's just water vapour
Can a Devil fruit user drink water without being weakened? Eat food that has some liquid in it (watermelon)?
Below waist water aint doing much
As far as we can tell, it's only when encased in water on the outside, not inside the body, otherwise Misu Luffy wouldn't work
@honest bridge this guy explains it the best
I wonder if Oda ever drew Robin taking a bath
He did nami so wont be surprise if he did (maybe in wano)
He did in Wano
I’ve read it dozens of times
so notice how zoro isnt in that panel having a nosebleed, but sanji and ussopp are. also you're right shanks absolutely came from god valley but in that sense why the hell would he have been in a chest? roger probably got baited there for treasure and something regarding what rocks did at god valley. also saying that you could replace any character there when both roger and garp are some of The most influencial figures of the series misses the point entirely. also if Any information gets out about elbaph that goes to morgans and then the world knows about imu. that cannot happen for imus sake and the censorship and rewriting of history correlates with the void century too. imu has been trying to stay as lowkey as possible but the strawhats and the people fighting for truth have repeatedly foiled this for imu. but its also why everyone has been so vague and not directly mentioned them, because imu would just erase any island a person mentions their name on unless dealt with swiftly via the god knights. imu cant make a personal appearance and uses their fruit because otherwise that runs the risk of the real truth of the world (it not being a real democracy) being revealed and the entire world turning on the govt
What if xebec was king of drum island. He researched devil fruits and he had ope ope no mi. This shows there was a great doc who used this devil fruit. Thats why blackbeard went to drum island, research about his dark dark fruit.
What if after that they went to reverie, xebec killed admiral and met imu. After that he walks away and "goes to lulusia". Then further to complete his journey
When imu was about to use ancient weapon on lulusia, gorosei asked imu why lulusia? Imu said because it is close. What if imu meant because xebec was close to the truth and he prolly go bits of the reality? He then went through lulusia to continue his journey. To prevent anything from happening like a doubt, imu used ancient weapon to destroy lulusia?
i was also thinking about this regarding both roger's weakness towards the kuja pirates, luffy not getting frozen by boa, and luffy also straight up REVERSING foxy's slow slow ability onto him. haki has to have a huge play in this just like what gyaban said a few chapters ago
if not being manipulated by imu with the fruit, there was logistics involved that tricked roger into helping garp instead
If I have failed to communicate my understanding I dont mind you bridging that in whatever way you consider to be appropriate. I have been making clear discernments regarding your theory's viability and my criticisms involved, Ive also acknowledged where it is sound and where I believe it is lacking, you havent adressed those criticisms in any significant way and keep referring back to the contents of the theory itself which were never in question or being held under scrutiny. Rationally I can surmise thats a result of a failure of articulation on my part so I'll attempt to bridge that now.
Your theory works mechanically, by utilising very well established narrative threads it provides a robust throughline for Imu's status as an antagonist, it also resolves significant and particularly relevant gaps in knowledge we have pertaining to God Valley, it succeeds on all those fronts.
Though just because a theory is sound in terms of what it aims to achieve doesnt necessarily mean its narratively consistent or satisfying because of it, a lot of your justifications for my criticisms fall back on known information/concepts that are exclusive from the fact if your theory is viable or not. For example; I described how removing agency from Roger and Garp at God Valley hinders their presence in that particular event, as well as how it negatively impacts on their characters as we understand them as a result, to which your primary defense was to re-state the fact that Roger and Garp are important/influential characters in general which wasnt what I was being critical of nor challenging in the first place.
You give the impression that you think because your theory utilises known/well established information that any compromise made because of it is not only justified and indeed rational, but equally as consistent in quality and implication as well, when that isnt the case at least not a rational one, as it is circular logic. My criticisms concern the individual impact of your theory in practice, this is an acknowledgment of viability not a denial of it. My problems with it can be adressed/modulated/corrected without significantly compromising it and thats what ive been attempting to communicate, but its difficult to do that if you're unwilling to acknowledge them in the first place which is the main barrier we currently face.
Now to address this response in particular:
-You pointed out how Luffy and Zoro dont nose bleed with Nami but neither does Roger with Shakky, however the point is moot as my referencing that panel was to supply an indication that the behavior had occured in general, not that it was to the same capacity nor even consistent.
-"Shanks was a puppet from Imu seeing as how he was a Celestial Dragon, and went with Roger to perform surveillance" — This was from your original post, its funny that you proposed a baby could be a double agent but its technically possible to make the implication Imu may have some kind of posession over Shanks I suppose. You didnt however address why Shanks was in a chest so the speculation made in spite of that wasnt what I was putting into question in showing you that panel, I was simply responding to the claim you made saying we didnt know how Shanks and Roger met.
-I stated in the confines of if your theory was put into practice then whether Garp or Roger showed up at God Valley doesnt matter since the course of events wouldnt be dependant on them, it would be dependant on Imu, you could supplant Roger or Garp with any character as all they need to do is defeat/potentially kill Rocks, you could even cut out the middle man and have Imu do it directly and the only difference would be Garp's title since Roger would still be King of the Pirates in spite of that.
WHAT IF... The name of the great kingdom that fell years ago is called Dawnfall???
and Those of the will of D are discendants of the rulers of that kingdom.
What if D stands for Dawn???
What if the purpose of the 3 weapons poseidon, Uranus and (i forget the name) are to destroy the red line that seperates the world. Thus the world becoming ONE PIECE.. with peace. And fishman island rises to the top, fulfilling otohime's dream of living with humans
The Yami Yami no Mi is actually the mythical davy jones fruit
Teach isnt immune to attacks like logias normally are because it's not a Logia, its a mythical zoan like Luffy whose special mythical ability is the darkness power which is "Davy Jones Locker" that absorbs things and puts them in their own dimension which is what we understand the power to do anyways
Teach may need to die like Luffy did to awaken it and unlock its true power
Perfectly contrasts Luffy's fruit actually being a mythical zoan
Also this is obvious I think: The 2 devil fruits Rocks is after is the Yami-Yami no Mi (actual Mythical Davy jones fruit) and whatever power Loki now has (My theory is that it's the serpent of fire from the harley mural.)
i saw this video talking abt Joyboys real name and its convincing af first of all hes the first pirate therefor probably made binks sake, His name could be binks
Mihawk Theory
There is a precedent that Mihawk has a direct connection/association to Gol D. Roger and is potentially a D. clan member. I will further this theory to say there is also comparable likelihood for Mihawk to be a Seraphim prototype and/or a Gol D. Roger clone who may even have served a tenure on Whitebeard’s crew.
To preface; I will begin by mapping out what I believe to be Oda’s key pieces of inspiration for Mihawk, as engaging with these points of reference is imperative to understanding this theory. In terms of formatting I will break up sections of information with bullet-points outlining relevant parallels, however it should be noted that these concepts/sources aren’t necessarily mutually exclusive to Mihawk particularly, in fact there’s significant overlap in how Oda adapts them into One Piece as a fiction, so bear with me as I do my best to put these ideas forward legibly as I can manage. I will also be presenting this theory in 2 parts, the background inspiration (part 1) and then direct story inference/comparison (part 2).
PART 1 - Olivier Levasseur
Also known as “La Buse” or “The Buzzard”, he was born in Calais during the Nine Years War (1688–1697). During the War of the Spanish Succession (1701–1714), he was commissioned a letter of marque from King Louis XIV (“The Sun King”) and became a privateer for the French crown. When the war ended, he was ordered to return home with his vessel but instead joined the company of Benjamin Hornigold in 1716. According to witness testimony, he bore a scar over his right brow and eye limiting his sight. He is attributed with one of piracy’s most infamous endeavours; the capture of the Nossa Senhora do Cabo (Our Lady of the Cape) or Virgem do Cabo (The Virgin of the Cape), a Portuguese great galleon carrying treasures belonging to the Bishop of Goa and the Viceroy of Portugal, who were both on board enroute to Lisbon. Amongst the loot was a number of religious objects from the Sé Cathedral in Goa, including the Fiery Cross of Goa; an allegedly 7ft artifact made of pure gold, inlaid with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds. As the ship had already been damaged in a storm, it’s capture was met with little resistance. However, due to the damage it had already sustained it required anchoring at Réunion to undergo repairs. (This incident would later be used by/in Robert Louis Stevenson’s novel Treasure Island, in which the galleon is referred to as The Viceroy of the Indies in the account given by his famed fictional character Long John Silver.)
In 1724, Levasseur attempted an appeal to the governor of Réunion by redeeming an amnesty that had been proposed to all pirates in the Indian Ocean, the removal of criminal charge in exchange for the indefinite termination of pirate activity. However, the French government demanded a large portion of the stolen loot back as a condition for eligibility, so in lieu of pursuing the amnesty further Levasseur instead fled to the Seychelles Archipelago. He was later intercepted near Fort Dauphin, Madagascar, then taken to Saint-Denis, Réunion, and hanged for piracy on 7 July 1730. According to legend, when Levasseur stood on the scaffold to be executed, he distributed a cryptogram of 17 lines amongst the immediate audience before declaring "Find my treasure, the one who may understand it!".
Key details:
-A privateer is a private person or vessel which engages in commerce raiding under a commission of war, this is a parallel to the Shichibukai in One Piece albeit with less exclusivity in terms of narrative hierarchy; pirates with government support/restrictions.
-“The Buzzard” although an epithet, is also a synonym for a bird of prey, hawks included.
-His scar is incongruent with what we know about Mihawk, however it can be attributed to Zoro with little difficulty.
-Benjamin Hornigold is significant to consider as historically he is known for mentoring Edward Thatch “Blackbeard” which would make him a parallel to Edward Newgate/Whitebeard in One Piece.
-Pursuing a damaged vessel aligns with Mihawk’s introduction to the One Piece story during Romance Dawn.
-Considering its unwieldy dimensions and its significance to Levasseur’s legacy, The Fiery Cross of Goa is a potential candidate for the inspiration of Yoru’s design in One Piece.
-The Seychelles Archipelago is potentially the basis of the Sabaody Archipelago.
-Goa has been directly adapted into One Piece, being first shown in the same arc as Mihawk (Romance Dawn) adds credence to the notion that it is likely the (IRL) Golden Age of Piracy is broadly a basis of inspiration for a lot of the early foundations of One Piece’s characters, events, locations and story.
-The legend surrounding Levasseur’s execution is more than likely the primary inspiration for Gol D. Roger’s execution, and the cryptogram is comparable to the poneglyphs.
Part 2 - Inferences and Theory Body
With whats been mapped we can begin to play around with the same concepts that Oda has. For example; by acknowledging Levasseur serving a tenure under Benjamin Hornigold we can infer a theory that Mihawk may have potentially done the same for Whitebeard, in that particular example there is also manga panelling to support that notion in the fact we know Whitebeard was aware of a duel between Shanks and Mihawk as detailed in chapter 434. It lacks confirmation but the precedent clicks into the story on a level seated in the characters foundational composition and core inspiration.
Onto my theory: "There is a precedent that Mihawk has a direct connection/association to Gol D. Roger and is potentially a D. clan member. I will further this theory to say there is also comparable likelihood for Mihawk to be a Seraphim prototype and/or a Gol D. Roger clone who may even have served a tenure on Whitebeard’s crew." (That final statement I have already touched on.)
Beginning with the connection to Gol D. Roger, it should be stated that in addition to both characters likely sharing common basis in the same core inspiration (Olivier Levasseur) there is actually added evidence of this in One Piece's contents directly. On the cover of volume 82 Oda depicts Mihawk wearing a staw hat, albeit for farming the motif is consistent with what I am proposing. However, narratively the majority of Mihawks story has notably been kept secret, this is significant for a character introduced all the way back at Romance Dawn who is still relevant even in the current narrative so consider the following with an appropriate grain of salt.
The most significant connection/association Mihawk may have with Roger though is likely via the crew, specifically Silvers Rayleigh. (Yes im about to leverage a pre established theory but its important to discern I am not doing so to justify my own, rather to add depth and to consolidate the broader point being made). The theory that Mihawk may be the son of Shakuyaku and Rayleigh beyond matching up in terms of timeline (Mihawk is 43, Shakky left the Kuja 42 years ago) it also adds another parallel between the Seychelles Archipelago and Sabaody Archipelago in terms of inspired material as in a very similar manner of Shakuyaku fleeing to Sabaody, Levasseur also fled to Seychelles. To add further credence to that idea, the first revealed Seraphim in the series is S-Hawk on Amazon Lily (chapter 1059) the home of the Kuja Pirates. Using Levasseur as a lens to these kinds of events/pieces of information adds so much depth because in the same breath we first see S-Hawk, is also when Blackbeard attacks Amazon Lily, the same Blackbeard who's real world counterpart/partial character inspiration served as Benjamin Hornigold's second in command, the same Benjamin Hornigold that Olivier Levasseur joined after The War of the Spanish Succession.
@south epoch actually really agreed with that theory of the red line
i mean the whole thing regarding shanks was that dawg didnt know. he wasn't a double agent and more of a sleeper agent that had a tie to imu, he wasn't aware of it though just like gunko, dorry, and broggy currently.
you're def right to say the behavior happened and looking back like luffy did actually get hit, but smth to consider is both the fact that luffy just kinda has resistance to boa's fruit and was able to reverse foxy's beam at the end of the fight.
maybe then it's less so about if they're a simp and more so haki like what gyaban said. saying that "it wouldn't matter because its dependent on imu" is right in a way, but thats also like saying "well anyone could have eaten the nika fruit". it's true, but seeing as how luffy had ties to the pirate kings son, and was the hero of the marine's grandson, the story wouldn't have played out in nearly the same way had it been completely different people. both garp and roger were already hotshots of their time. anyone who had gotten the fruit besides luffy would have just been erased simply because they didn't have that tie to garp. it makes it WAY more messy for imu to have just erased rocks, so thats why they involved others and made them heroes
another thing to consider is that why would imu waste their time going personally and put their own life at risk when they have the power to manipulate people at will? it risks the entire position they built as shadow leader of the government. you gotta remember that Nobody knows who imu is outside of a select few people (shanks included) and the world thinks that everything is run democratically by the world government. to me it seems imu isn't a fighter themselves, and relies on the power of others to do it for them. why else would imu be so interested in controlling the giants? they could easily crush all of them is why
i mean the whole thing regarding shanks was that dawg didnt know. he wasn't a double agent and more of a sleeper agent that had a tie to imu, he wasn't aware of it though just like gunko, dorry, and broggy currently.
i see the roger pirates leaving the kids behind as calculated because they didn't want to put buggy and shanks in danger, but were also incredibly suspicious of shanks and didn't want them to think that. then when they came back and told shanks what they learned about imu's true powers and the fact that he was a celestial dragon, he was crushed
The difference between Shanks and Gunko, Dorry & Brogy though is the fact Shanks has far greater narrative significance/leverage seeded in his agency, (being Luffy's mentor, potentially having also inherited Roger's Will, the motif of his Haki being compared directly to Joy Boy, etc.) so removing that to call him a puppet to Imu (although could very well be logically consistent to a relative capacity) has a negative impact on his character's integrity as a result, any action he makes without direct author affirmation/clarification is then liable/depenadant on an entirely exclusive story entity, this creates an issue that cant be corrected in story/character development as the only reason a plot device like that would be necessary would be to bridge those gaps in lieu of more exclusive discernments. Thats why I wouldnt like it at least. You dont encounter this problem with Dorry, Brogy or Gunko. In the case of Gunko shes a new character, theres nothing leveraged against her in terms of narrative establishment so posturing her in such a way doesnt compromise anything shes already done in the story. Dorry and Brogy on the other hand have had very limited character development, they were in essence introduced as island features to Little Garden and utilised primarily for the exclusive purpose of world building, which is consistent as we typically learn more about them during world building segments, in terms of their individual agency they're really only leveraged against eachother and their crew, all of which Oda has given a wide enough berth conceptually to allow for the current story to be where it is without it feeling like theres a greater suspension of disbelief being made in contrast to existing narratives.
You've successfully managed to dodge my criticism in like 5 different ways now but ill re-articulate it again, the comparison of "it wouldnt matter because its dependant on Imu" and "well anyone could have eaten the Nika fruit" is incongruent with the criticism being made and another example of what I mentioned before of you reinforcing the mechanics of your theory with known information when that isnt what im being critical of. My scrutiny isnt that the story wouldnt work or be logically unsound/inconsistent, its that by reducing characters with the narrative relevance/significance of Roger and Garp to little more than plot devices for Imu by removing their agency entirely in an event that has been developed primarily around them as key players in the first place, it isnt very satifying and detracts from their individual characters. I never said it wouldnt work for the express purpose of forwarding the story in the method/manner you're proposing, just that I dont think its likely due to the trade off being made, which is a subjective asessment, im just explaining my rationale.
did dorry and broggy not shape ussopps character arc though? and does that not give even more significance to shanks? its a painful truth to be raised by pirates and find out you're the son of the enemy. that would entirely shape his motivations as to why he sabotaged the government instead of just goin back with them. literally every single character in one piece is a "plot device" to add depth to the story lol...just because they're placed in a grey area doesnt mean that their impact is reduced, it just adds further depth to the "why" behind it all
i think itd be way lazy if roger was this all powerful good guy who stopped the bad guy rocks with the good guy marine and the story just existed in a black and white pirates vs marines snooze fest. characters like koby and smoker arent detracted from because they work with the marines, they still want to make change but through working w the system rather than against
I was outlining the discernment between those characters and why my opinion regarding narrative satisfaction would be primarily negative, because now youre drawing parallels between characters based on if your theory is correct when that again isnt what im being critical of, im talking about the broader impact on intended implication/known information and how your theory would alter it, and what in my oponion would be its quality as a result, again not that it wouldnt work which I keep saying so you dont have to keep trying to tell me why it would.
I agree, though I wouldnt call that lazy writing, I would call it unsatisfying in the same way I would say building up characters like Roger, Garp, Shanks, the themes of inherited will, only to in an event like God Valley remove leverage from 2 of the 3 main figures involved for the sake of the current narrative would make God Valley itself not very satisfying. Like yes you establish a thread that can be developed/explored/engaged with in a number of different/creative/interesting ways sure but at what compromise?
I would even go so far as to say theres likely multiple ways of making the story more interesting without needing to create those kinds of compromises.
can i ask what your opinion is? because ig im not really clear on what that is
its hard for me to really find understanding when ive only been recieving criticism and not really alternatives
i also dont really think this removes leverage because they all had to do what they did for the story to happen. it just shows that imu has been running the show for way longer than we think, and confirms roger's note about the truth and that they were never "the ones", more so a catalyst of truth. just like whitebeard was for the world at marineford confirming the existence of the one piece and tending the fire of rebellion. the danger of the real truth outweighed them passing the torch to the next generation through their own deaths
Its hard for me to give alternatives when you havent really engaged with my criticisms.
To give a succinct response though: I think your theory has legs, its logically sound, my main problems have everything to do with character agency (or lack there-of) and how your theory negatively impacts it in specific events (known quantities in how we percieve them currently, not how your theory potentially seeks to satify/consolidate them) and the broader narrative implications that are generated on an individual by-character basis as a result. The narrative viability of your theory is exclusive from that criticism.
Here's the long form:
#manga-theories message
This doesnt address my problems.
Though what youve outlined here is what your theory achieves, Im saying even that can be done without needing to compromise the agency of characters in past events to do that.
"It shows Imu has been running the show for way longer than we think"? The current idea is Imu has been predominantly in the position they have been since the Void Century at least, I mean thats via what we know right now regardless of your theory... What do you mean by "way longer" and how does your theory expand on that?
i mean seeing as how the void century happened and the government was still in existence even before the void century, it paints imu and as an immortal figure that predates the void century (with proof from the gods knights). just because it "negatively" affects the reason why the god valley incident happened doesnt mean anything, because we dont really Know why it happened to begin with. from what we've seen from rocks, he is a man of drive sure but not of brute force. he works within the pirate code via davvy back fights, and respects that harald doesnt wanna join (like luffy asking loki). what ive been trying to ask you is what you believe happened at god valley and how it can be done otherwise without compromising the actual character of rocks thats being presented in the recent flashbacks? also i have been addressing your criticism so it seems like a misunderstanding, there is a lotta text though so that can happen fairly easily
In terms of how that can be remedied is up to you, its your theory after all.
"Imu is a threat at God Valley" for instance can be adapted in a variety of ways, you could potentially utilise the presence of the then God's Knights (Figarland included) and have Imu posess them and stage a fight with Garp, Roger, and Rocks teamed up on one side and the God's Knights on the other with Rocks becoming compromised in some way and the publication becoming that it was Garp and Roger who killed/defeated him. Could use some tapering sure but that premise generally also achieves everything your theory attempts to accomplish in the same event.
Well the "negative" impact I discerned was on the level of individual character integrity/development, again I cannot stress enough that this is my opinion and the criticism isnt to do with the broader narrative viability of your theory.
yee and same to you im just kinda stress testing and tryna see what your thoughts are. my question with garp roger and rocks teaming up is why the three of them would be there to begin with, and why garp would be siding with them even with the gods knights present
like bouncing off what you said i could totally see roger and rocks teaming up because whitebeard was still friends with roger after the fight, but it also doesnt make sense why garp would fight against the gods knights and wouldnt just join roger like aokiji joined blackbeard
he clearly feels bad about what happened during the event but still remains in the marines even after the event leading me to believe they got compromised. but also does that not feed into my theory of someone being compromised at gods valley? cuz if it happened to rocks then it could happen to garp and roger too
Theres an open space for development there, coercion is likely the easiest but theres multiple ways to compromise a character's aptitudes or motives as well. Its pertinent to remember that the Gods Knights are an exclusive entity from the Marines/Navy, so theres an inherint conflict of interests in their organization in the first place in terms of heirarchy.
I can see Garp being put into a very similar situation at God Valley as Borsalino was at Egghead, where his brand of Justice came into conflict with his sense of duty
true i can also see imu throwing everyone off and gaining control over rocks to shock everyone and get them to believe it themselves only to find out about the truth later. but also garp doesnt know about what was at laugh tale so why would he feel bad unless roger told him
now that im thinking rocks getting possessed is definitely more probable because kaido harbors serious resentment towards rocks for his death, he respects people for their legendary deaths but not rocks
roger also wanted garp to look after his kid and told whitebeard too so it wouldnt surprise me if he did
Potentially, however we also know Rocks and Kaido werent exactly aligned in terms of philosophy and interests, the quote of him saying WB and Roger "doing it right" in their deaths can equally be interpreted as Kaido not being present for Rock's potential death/it may not have been broadcasted or perhaps Imu has some capability to bury it even out of other's memory, or that he potentially didnt die at all.
to me i take him saying they did it right as rocks getting buried by imu and being "betrayed" by rocks since he Was at gods valley and im pretty sure he died there. nobodys really said that he was captured and executed/turned themselves in/took death into their own hands like roger and WB which i believe to be what kaido respects. the passing of the torch if you will
would explain why kaido just kept trying to commit suicide either through starting the biggest war, falling in battle or by jumping off skypeia lol
but to kaido, not only did rocks go back on his word but he also just. keeled over. no flashy death, no final words nothin
I mean as I mentioned you can draw whatever conclusions you would like to for the convenience of your theory, keep in mind though those things are subject to scrutiny and are peripheral/exclusive from your theory's integrity, after all its where the majority of my criticisms are, and they would be resolved if instead of drawing those connections for the sake of propping up your theory, you leave those parameters open ended as it also limits the amount of points where its viability may be liable to fail. Maintaining a level of speculation isnt a bad thing and keeps interest in your theory's contents. If its logically sound in execution, it doesnt need the narrative padding, if its weak on the "how" supplement that with where its strong, in this case its in the "what" and "why", this is preferrable to detracting on either for the sake of it.
why not both though? have a sound theory but back it up with points drawn from different points of the story? to me its more fun that way, and we could both be entirely wrong (as are a lot of people here) but thats also a matter of personal preference
there have been many instances of people doing the same as i (blackbeard's father being xebec, or luffy being joy boy/nika as an example)
The fact we're drawing inferences and speculating in the first place, your theory is strong but its not perfect as ive outlined where its incongruent/where it fails in my opinion, im saying you dont need to compromise on its strengths to cover those flaws, you can simply leave them out of its confines and you wouldnt be losing anything, and the discussion of speculation surrounding those points it doesnt cover remains open.
We're in agreement.
truth i appreciate you showing the holes, that was mainly what i was tryna find by posting and as you said it's all pure speculation. im excited to see how close the newer theory is though esp after further clarity and building it
literally my favorite part of one piece though because oda writes his story like an easter egg hunt so many pieces that have ended up coming true and mentioned hundreds of chapters prior
Zoro's swords are the best version of that for me, I think its one of if not the strongest example of Oda consolidating multiple plot threads into a single narrative/continuity, and without narratively altering or compromising any of the pieces he utilises to do so.
Ohhh I didn’t know this! That’s crazy, perhaps or maybe it’s you know….Davy could b the will of D who knows lmao
real except for enma's size lol but wasnt it that enma was reforged for momonosuke?
Well, Monosuke is now Oden size ...
We know the people of the moon came down to earth a long time before the void century, the moon murals writing is the same as imus pentagram ,could the abyss power be related to outer space or something the moon people found?
I feel Imu being female is cemented for me when Imu invaded gunko's body. My guess she body hops to stay alive for so long.
Love that idea, I think m the moon is the “Abyss” always have but I’m waiting for what’s next
Had to pop on today on the week break.
I think Imu has that classic OP female body and everything, that’s Nami’s grandma or even great, great, great +3 if I have to, grandma
Nami backstory is lacking and we’re waiting for the truth
This question came mostly after i saw a few theories , i always disregarded the moon lore a bit because of all the enel return fan boys(hes not that great people) but after reading a fee theories im pretty on bord for this
I do feel hers is good she just needs focus ,using water to maybe stop the devil fruit using gods knights would be a cool way but this isnt a theory anymore
Right hopefully oda reavles more of her background later in the manga getting closer too fighting imu probably until face imu face reveal
All I’m saying, is I need that deep brook past. I need to know. You don’t just become the soul king in your 2 years while waiting 50+ on the open sea
True amd gunko recognized him when she was a little girl !!!! She was probably a princess long time ago and felt comfortable with Brooke even tho he was a pirate she probably was special since imu took her as a slave
If Loki doesn't join the crew I think that sabo will become as kid's they wanted to be Pirates not revelation army and beso I think that sabo would ask dragon and join the straw hats
Some tentative ideas on the World Government's connection to an evil serpent. We have Dorry and Broggy saying they can't destroy the Great Serpent soaked in blood, possibly a reference to the Red Line. The Elbaph children having Jormungandr as one of their greatest fears. The serpent of hellfire in the First World. Satan taking the form of a snake in order to tempt Eve into eating the forbidden fruit in the garden of Eden. The Demiurge from Gnosticism being the malevolent god who created the material world, taking the form of a serpent.
You’re mixing your metaphors. Not just jumping straight to OP to biblical imagery. You can’t have the serpent in the garden of Eden as one example and then a gnostic portrayal of Yaldabaoth, because in gnostic theology the serpent was a messenger for Sophia or Christ, not a tempter.
what do you guys think is the Legendary fruit of Elbaph
I hope it‘s a Logia and not another mythical Zoan. And make it showcase our first Awakened Logia
and what element would that be
Wind or Water, both are destructive in nature. But ya, didn‘t think of one fitting yet, mainly I want Logia or even Paramecia since for Paramecia there are also endless possibilities
You think it might be Loki’s devil fruit?
i wonder if a mother flame logia could exist
Fire powers are a bit overdone. However, I’m sure there’s a reason Loki considers himself the Sun god
So Shaki was the "treasure of the pirate island" all along.
That's why the Rocks pirate was so angry when the world government took her.
It all makes sense now.
I guess Rayleigh will be the one who saves Shaki.

Update on this Moria theory;
The part about the sword is debunked
-# (tbf that part was already debunked since we already knew the grave was unmarked)
But this highlighted part has only been strengthened!!
"Fought against Kaido"
"No trace of his body"
@craggy pumice
No Because we saw him fighting the gaurds who killed his father, that means that someone stole it. What if luffy a fruit isn’t the Nika fruit? What if it was part of the fruit that the nika fruit is not just one but two. Because the giants said that nika could save or destroy. So wat if luffy a fruit is the one part of the fruit who saves and the other part is the one who destroys? That can open upp so many theories and take the story to new directions. I think it could be becuse Vegapunk said that devil fruits is manifestation of what people desire. What if some people desired a destroyer of this world a the other one desired a savior? What do you think about this theory? I’m I stupid?
@tender torrent
Its really funny
The theory itself or the fact it became even more likely now?
Am I genius 😅
LOL sorry I wanted to write a longer text but my mind slipped off and I didnt recognize I sent the first 3 letters already. What I wanted to say:
Its really funny how the additional information makes it so much more likely yeah. Literally everything fits to Moria now. He probably sneaked around with his shadow fruit he can create a Doppelgänger with thats why nobody saw him steal Ryumas sword. Gyukimaru stole all the swords from the graves, maybe they didnt return everyones yet.
So yeah since we didnt get a name and it could be someone who is still alive and from the West Blue, I think Moria is the most likely candidate now, and I wonder if we will see how he ended up being raised in Wano and then leave to become a pirate
Exactly
he is literally prime suspect now
my guess for how he ended up in Wano is that he mightve been raised by Higurashi, and thats why hes into voodoo and horror stuff. We know shes left the country before, so I assume she picked Moria up at some point, raised him for a while in Ringo, and then at some point he left to follow in her footsteps
i havent checked the timeline all that much but she died 20 years ago, and was already a hag at that point
Moria wouldve been 30 when she died
idr how long ago the Kurozumi massacre was, but my guess is he left before that, maybe while she was conspiring with Kaido
theres a possibility she was cooperating with the Rocks crew while they were active (given her Shiki disguise and Kaido ties), and if Moria was with her during that time, it would further add to why he specifically sought after Rocks pirate bodies when making his zombies, besides simply having heard that they were strong
okay enough cooking before I end up overshooting my prediction
@craggy pumice soup's finished 😮💨
decent theory
thank you 😮💨 but the whole Higurashi Moria thing was just off the dome. The main part is about the cover story grave being Morias
I got a theory of my own, it's mainly based on the new chapter:
We know that Stussy has a clone made by Vegapunk, which looks exactly like the Stussy from the current backstory. Therefore, I think the original Stussy was kidnapped or something back then, as she was probably an easy target, and then Vegapunk was ordered to clone her. After that, the clone was sent to Hachinosu and was programmed to keep sending information to the marines constantly, so basically the original stussy didn't betray, but instead the clone was in her place while the og stussy was probably captured in Vegapunk's lab.
Well, the Stussy clone would still need to grow up and everything, idk if she could do that in time while the Rocks pirates were still active
What supports my theory: Stussy wasn't shown helping the Rock Pirates in any scene and it's being laid out like kanjuros betrayal
yeah Higurashi would fit im just waiting for if shes revealed to be one of the Rocks pirates or where did she come from, hopefully in this flashback, plus how those Rocks pirates ended up as Zombies. This would be a good reason why Moria would go out for them
Yeah thats right, but there has to be some sort of lore to it, cuz it would raise questions on what life did the current (cloned) stussy live since she was cloned, so maybe it was some sort of df power or smth idk
exactly. I also think shes gonna be one of the Rocks pirates. I was leaning to Don Marlon, then to Kyo, but after seeing Kyos interaction with Shiki this chapter, im leaning more tiwards Don Marlon again (it would fit the Moria idea since Don Marlon is from the west blue)
another theory i've got is that stussy was a slave in her childhood and when vegapunk learned to clone people, he requested the gorosei for someone's dna so he could test it out by cloning them, and the gorosei gave stussy
Wait ... true lol. And because the WG stole Shakky, Roger also came to God Valley because he was in love with her, thats why he was upset. "Do you have any idea how Ive felt this past year" its all about Shakky lol
Maybe the Kaido line too? Kaido also fell for Shakky so he didnt want Roger to have her?
these are speculations I have when re-reading Elbaf flashback:
Could it be that Harald was killed by Imu because he was about to yield his throne for Loki, and probably would give the fruit to him as well?
- Loki was summoned on that day along with the rest of Elbaf warriors before he even arrived (sounds like coronation)
- The legendary fruit is really Gomu Gomu. Shanks heard about Nika legend from Harald in Mary Geoise and speculate that the fruit is Nika
- Shanks at that time was probably about to warn Harald about giving the fruit to WG
- Since Harald failed to kill Rocks, there's decades of bargaining until WG demanded the fruit and subjugation of Elbaf warriors
- Harald died resenting the world. He thought his years of negotiating with the WG is useless and planned to unleash Loki to the world
- Harald's last words to Loki was coronating him (and take revenge to the world), but since no one alive was present and the treasure was stolen, Loki was the only one believing he's the rightful heir
- Loki went out to the sea to take back Gomu Gomu. Shanks stopped him and continued Loki's mission
Jarul getting along with the lies is probably similar to what happened to Fisher Tiger. He wanted to hide the fact that Harald has lost hope
The WG was responsible for Haralds death. There were a clique of giants who were at disagreement of Haralds desire to usurp their history of war. Haralds refusal to kill Rocks was the final straw for the WG. It wasn’t until after Rocks had died that the WG and the traitorous Giants made their move against Harald and Jarul. They did NOT expect Loki to also be there in the throne room to ultimately trump their coup.
The Legendary DF the giants they believed they had was the Nika fruit. The figurehead of their entire mythology. But it wasn’t, it was a different fruit. If Nika hadn’t been awakened for 800 years there’s no way the giants would know for certain the fruit they have is Nika. Loki definitely consumed a fruit he’s also certain he’s the Sun God Nika.
what if there's two nika fruits? one a liberator, one a destroyer
It would be a bit too deus ex machina for Loki to come in at the 11th hour with a role on par with the MC
True
His bounty was on par with other Yonko's when he was at sea and it's been established how freakishly strong he is even weakened by seastone so imo it's not that hard to believe Loki will be put in a position to equally fight with Luffy in his most powerful form
Loki is going to be both strong and important, no question. He isn’t going to be literally Nika, though
Yeah probably but I predict his already established will to be free combined with this supposedly Nika-like DF will make it seem like he's basically on the same level as Luffy
I think the reason Loki kills his dad isn't just because of Rocks being killed, I think it's because Imu takes control of Herold like she did with the other giants and Loki had to kill his dad and those giants to keep Eblaph from falling into the hands of the WG.
This is my guess, it is boring but I hope I am wrong.
it would be named something different
In terms of the "strong in spite of seastone weakening" the current narrative implication is the more mass you have the greater resistance you have to the effects of seastone and the ocean, which is why Sanjuan Wolf can walk in the ocean even when the water comes above his chest line and why he can recover even when fully submerged. Loki coudnt break free of his chains without assistance but gaining exponential aptitude while only shackled by the ankle is still consistent with what we can safely infer.
Yes but also in San Juan's case it looks like he's more sensitive to pain when submerged in water
i think imu is guy whos abilites made him shift into lilys body, which before the past op op fruit user did the surgery on, which made lily's body immortal
hence why the gorosei wanted the op op fruit again, also there is the fridge for the hat, what if imu's old body is preserved and waiting
I doubt Loki would be on Kaido's level upon immediate introduction with no proper establishment but comparable to Luffy as he is currently? (as I still dont think Luffy is above Kaido in terms of overall strength, even where we are now on Elbaph) I think it can be executed safely with the proper care and attention to detail.
for sure kaido was weakened when he faced gear 5, it might be close but no. Loki's fruit maybe as good as kaidos, like why many people are scared of his powers
Yeah I don't think either of them are actually stronger or as strong as Kaido was but judging off of bounties at this scale I was definitely under the impression that Loki was definitely a problem back then regardless of what Special meant. And since all of that was 8 years ago When Loki was only a teenager equivalent and just barely reaching his prime fighting age, I just think there's a very real possibility that Loki could reach the level of Luffy and take a similar role as Luffy will in the fight against Imu. This is also supported imo by the mural drawing where we see Loki and Luffy shaped figures right beside eachother facing an Imu shaped figure
i feel like the special bounty is simialr to sanjis cuz he is a prince, so is loki, sanji's family was notorius criminals but still were royalty so they got special bounty, elbaph dont care about wg, i think WG respects royalty unless they know about the truth
*truth about imu
They in a group together
I’m beginning to buy into the idea that Buggy is also Rock’s son similar to Blackbeard
Even their bounty posters are high key similar lol Oda I also feel has the tendency to drop hints in plain sight that make sense later on too
It wouldn’t be out of the norm for Buggy
Rather than Buggy being an actual son of Rocks, I theorize their strikingly similar bounty posters serve as meant to push the false belief towards his followers and the Navy that he is the son of Rocks.
Somehow, their supposed familial connection will be coined within the story, and the bounty poster likeness will be a primary supplementary evidence for Cross Guild and the bounty-making quacks like Brannew to wholeheartedly believe it.
That’s brilliant. The word gets out that one of the Yonko is son of legendary Rocks D Xebec, and that falls to Buggy. It’s better than him actually being his son
Oh for sure, I think I agree with everything else you're saying.
Oda said somewhere that Vivi is going to play a huge role in the final saga or something... I feel like it would make sense for Imu to be Queen Lily herself or a twin of her or something...
I am guessing the Garp reaction saying rocks stole the gem of Hachinosu was actually Shakky moving to Pirate island.
It makes more sense now, since the pirate world loved her, then she dipped after God Island.
Chapter 1103, Saint Saturn admits to doing tests on Ginny, to become the 8th lady of the holy lands... we know Imu can take over people's bodies... so, wonder if that's what the tests were for. To create host bodies for Imu, that's why Imu wants Vivi. Does this mean that Imu is most likely a women?
She became the 8th wife of a celestial dragon, presumably Shamrock
Im not even talking in terms of Devil Fruit power, I mean Loki's may very well be on par with if not better than Kaido's I just meant overall strength in general, Loki doesnt have that vetting behind him just yet, or has displayed anythings close to Kaido's level, but neither has Luffy tbf.
@flat lagoon
been thinking of a theory. What if Davy jones was the king of the ancient kingdom? We know both imu and joyboy were not the kings and it had to be someone important and with Rocks finding davy jones being important enough to tell imu about him means he could have been the ancient kingdoms king. I think the second half the mural is actually showing davy jones(the ancient kingdom) vs joyboy and the 20 kingdoms. The reason Imu decided to erase the entire century from history is becuase the one who beat davy jones was joyboy with Imu coming in for the clean up finishing off joyboy which is why imu is so afraid of joyboy as they did not win in a fair fight. This would lead to the rocks Davy family trying to reclaim the throne which is why VP wanted to warn about the D clan most likely about the fact that Davy family is also goind under then name D. The more I thought of what the ancient mural i realized it is supposed to represent a cycle of tyrants taking over right after the sun god defeats the previous tyrant. First world had the world under the tyranny of the earth god abusing and enslaving everyone which was defeated by nika and later taken over by the ancient kingdom with its vast weapons and tech. Second world the ancient kingdom is run by Davy jones trying to claim the world as his own with 20 non affiliated kingdoms working against him and joyboy who has united several slave nations such as wano, zou and FMI under his pirate flag. BB will be the next tyrant to take over after imu is defeated by Luffy will break the cycle of tyranny by also defeating BB before he takes full control
.. gonna read and reply in a bit
Whats up with the scar on shakuyaku stomach in the last chapter
@waxen obsidian this could be it ngl, first world which was ruled by an Earth God (we dunno who yet) and he enslaves all the people, the people wish for Nika a liberator and he arrives freeing them of the Earth God's rule, mankind succumbing to greed and touching the forbidden sun seems like they used or formed the ancient weapons but could as well mean devil fruits, if dfs already existed and that they simply consumed devil fruits which were initially formed by using the ancient energy source. After this victory maybe the Ancient Kingdom arrives as it has run out of resources, that is also kinda connecting with how 2nd world starts describing the half moon and full moon people (basically winged races or descendants of those from ancient kingdom - prime example Lunarians) .. this Ancient Kingdom either had Davy Jones as the king or he gets to power and is soon in opposition to JoyBoy who again wants to stop Davy Jones from dominating more of the world, a kingdom with such tech it must be easy to gather more and more resources esp with their physical strength too so they operate from atop red line and start taking more to a point where 20 kings form a coalition with JoyBoy (he probably was from Ancient Kingdom btw) now. I always thought this line "Within the void there was breath. The forest god tamed demons and the sun spread the fires of war." meant that Imu - Forest God made some pact with literal demons and being the forest god, formed adam / eve trees and created the dfs but for his own ends, not to be freely dispersed among people but only those he wanted to work with, that may fit into this version as JoyBoy has defeated Davy Jones and Imu has unrestricted access to the kind of energy to do such a thing. Sea God stormed meaning that devil fruit users those who made a pact with devil were rejected and sank after becoming stiff in water. Half Moon people await the promised day - D clan and also those of Davy Jone's lineage wait for the day where they defeat Imu and reclaim what was lost.
Davy jones might have been the forest god. He created the DFs and similar to BB he let anyone dream which is why DFs like nika was able to be made which I dont see imu allowing and why BB is able to have multiple DFs because Davy made his bloodline be capable to do so. Could also be DFs are a first world concept as I think there is a good chance its related to the forbidden sun as after that is touched nika appears from the dreams of the enslaved. Tho could be possible the second world starts with the Davy clan claiming the forbidden sun and creating the DFs and allowing them to produce advanced tech like the ancient weapons. The one piece probably is the forbidden sun that joyboy hid after beating davy jones.
I see that makes sense, although I am not willing to re read the poem, but afawk from the Skypiea panel too there are 4 supposed gods - Sun, Rain, Forest, Earth, do u think Imu is none of them and simply referred to as man or is it JoyBoy being spoken about in the 2nd world verse
plus who are the other gods - sea god, may possibly be Lilli even since JoyBoy is also hurt in the process and obviously Imu (who seems to have an affinity for Lilli) was involved wrt defeating Davy Jones. Also do u remember Corazon speaking to Law and telling him about the poem abt D clan members and the CDs does it have any link to the theory u wrote.
imu is "man became god". since the CD and imu dont become gods until after joyboy is dead. and I think sea god is either Poseidon as she created the calm belts around the world in rage of joyboys death.
tho seagod could also be imu flooding the world with uranus
yeah that was the originally human man I was referring too, but then that leaves so many unknowns - sea god is Poseidon after all so we know current gen Shirahoshi is her. Some people would take a diff tangent wrt the Imu Pangea castle panel where he slices up posters of Luffy Shirahoshi and BB what if that is simply also who the current gen God(s) are either in some hereditary form with power like how it is with shirahoshi and the fishmen as whole of Luffy who had the zoan Nika df choose him (BB we don't know but special atypical af Logia anybody's guess is as good as mine and there could be more to it). Guess we have to wait and see who Oda chooses as respective deity and what spins he makes for them.
this one? I think its mainly propaganda especially if Davy and Half moon clan have been constantly tryin to reclaim the throne thoughout the 800 years.
people of D - will gobble up (eat) celestial dragons, cause another storm, enemies of the gods.
may was well be propaganda by CDs cause they know once the D clan becomes aware of their true history it's wraps. Aight let's just wait and see how this is carried forward by
let's further this theory later on

I just spent the last 2 hours brain vomiting in a google doc. But I think I’m onto something. I think the “Voice of All Things” might be the most important clue in One Piece
I have a Theory that you guys are NOT going to like...
I think either Loki or Hyrudin are going to die.
heres why:
Loki will die: Loki has been set up this entire time since he was first mentioned as a monster who killed his father and despised by all of Elbaph. Only to us finding out that he isn't a monster, just seen as a kid who wanted attention and love of a mother, that he seems to want to do the right thing in the end. Which might be sacrificing himself, similar to Pedro on WCI.
Hyrudin will die: instead of Loki sacrificing himself, hyrudin will sacrifice himself as a final act of kindness towards the brother he never showed any to his entire life seeing him as a monster, but seeing all Loki has done for Elbaph in secret will take the hit for him, allowing Loki to become a Strawhat.
i don't think loki will become a straw hat, but if hajrudin dies that would be problematic for the sh grand fleet who we know will cause a historic incident in the future. loki could replace him, but it would be weird having him lead the new giant warrior pirates and he didn't drink the sake with the grand fleet. We also see a loki like figure in the mural which at least to me means that giants/elbaf will be participating in the final battles/battle. could be leading us to thinking that they won't die but id rather they wouldn't for the future of the story
Has anyone theorized who the traitor is? we know that The World Government stoled the Treasure of Hachinosu and we now know that's Shakky.
I don't think any of the males in the Rocks crew/Hachinosu would have stolen Shakky. I do think maybe it's likely Stussy who ended up stealing her and giving it to the World Government.
- Stussy seems like she wanted Whitebeard's love and we know Whitebeard fell inlove with Shakky
- Stussy's clone seems to accept betraying CP0
- Present stussy seems like a senile old lady with a failed future who has the supposed son of Whitebeard and she joined the Warlord likely for having leverage on it
the traitor has been mentioned before Shakky even arrive in Hachinosu
Idk who it was but the guy who said that the reason Big Mom was able to fight on Rocks Crew while pregnant 99% of the time was because her infants was human size while she was a gaint was proven correct this chapter. IIRC Katakuri standing on her shoulder this chapter should be 3-4 years old.
(<@&164973429412331521> I've ben here for months why haven't I gotten the ability to post images yet?)
hey no need to ping all mods for that
you can just ping 1 person or ask
once you reach level 10 (do ?rank in #bots ) you can post images
Noted
Looks like I'm Level 3 so it looks like I got about a year or so to go
Silver Axe is suspect the way he just shows up to join. Has those Xs all over too
haha no it wont long at all
theres a cooldown of like, 1 minute
so every message off cooldown earns xp
people get it pretty quick because we got a lot of yappers in this server
Yeah I'm not a fan of spamming incomplete thoughts and haveing my post buried without being seen like what happends in #manga , hence why I've been a member for over a year (July 2024) and active since March 2025 and only level 3.
You get EXP per message sent per minute, need to talk for about 5 hours
Noted, I'll get there eventually
It could be Shiki...or literally anyone in the crew since they were always trying to betray one another. I rule out Whitebeard and Gloriosa, but all the other are suspicious.
I have a Zoro theory. His scarred eye is always closed leading people to speculating he’s got a special or “magic” eye that will somehow lead to a powerup or observation haki thing. But my theory is that Zoro will become more powerful in observation haki and maybe unlock future sight when he closes both his eyes and fights with his mind’s eye, or “third eye” aka three eyes style 👁️👁️👁️
I wonder if we will ever see how he got the scar, did any of the SH ever even commented on it when they reunited?
Yeah I hope they do show it and like if it has some sort of magic he uses in like the final battle
sanij kinda did when the fisherman in sabaody mentioned it

@steel axle starts here.

in the theory about blackbeard having rocks inside him with the ope ope no mi using the personality change ability, why didnt he just use the immortality ability instead?
The ope ope is the worst version of the Xebec in Blackbeard thing
mr morj did a video on it
hes kind of a big deal
Mr Morj pushed the raid failing theory. View count doesn’t equal credibility. It’s closer to the opposite. These people are paid to make content about the most outrageous things for engagement
ty for puttin me onto mr morj, gamechanger
Because it didn’t happen. BB is just BB
oda's eatin all this up.. xebecs gone spawn thru buggy, i can feel it
im not in here to often, is buggy possibly bein xebecs son too legit or naw, that would further this theory ^
theory xebec still alive! remember impel down? the frozen floor? well in a cage was a very familiar figure that is exactly like xebec, he is there and not on the last floor causte he is so powerfull that he will escape instantly so they let him froze and sleep forever in criostasis!
and what is ice made of? WATER! so is impossible to xebec to scape his own cause his weaknes to water
that familiar figure was not xebec. it was a named character in a vivre card called kairo kureyo
oh
i was going to do a !speedreader but i realized what channel this is so ill just say its already confirmed she died from love sickness
i have a theory that. Uranus is actually a devil fruit and its Imu's devil fruit. just like in greek mythology uranus who was the sole reason why the giants or (gigantes) was created using her blood. Imu showed a similar power where she could actually make people into giants. like the 5 elders and also how brogy turned into a huge giants. so if pluton is an actual weapon of mass destruction and poseidon is a mermaid. then i think Uranus being a devil fruit and is own by maybe the final villain of one piece just makes so much sense. one piece is all about devil fruits so imu having the strongest devil fruit or maybe even the first devil fruit ever created just like uranus in greek myhtology being one of the first god created along side gaia (earth) just seems right to me.
My theory.
Either God's knights or Harald yoinked/sold the Gomu-Gomu no mi to the world government for membership, world government sent Cipher Pol to pick it up, Shanks was a gods knight sent to Elbaf to make sure nobody tried to get it back, is then told the W.G having it would be a horrible thing to have happen by Gaban based on what was learned in Laughtale. Shanks then betrays the W.G to take the fruit from Cipher Pol and takes it to the east blue. Fearing retribution from Imu, Shanks allows Luffy to be abducted by the bandit, fully expecting him to flee to the sea and attract the attention of the sea king. Shanks then seizes the opportunity to rid himself of the mark of the abyss and sacrifices his arm to be rid of the influence of Imu.
New nika eater gained and Imu's influence gone forever all in a short amount of time.
i dont think shanks would want to become a god knight or even associate himself with them but if he was then he was probably force by his father. also this timeline doesnt match because when shanks stole tthe fruit he was already a pirate for a long time with a full complete crew.
Yes, pirate as cover for gk probs
I’m going so crazy thinking about this panel I have to get it out
Anyways i can’t recall the exact chapter but during Vega Punks speech in Egg Head, when we cut to different parts of the world. There is an extremely overlooked panel of one of the CD females (the one that was present at the slave auction in Sabody) She genuinely seems surprised at the information that Vega Punk gave as if she didn’t know anything about it. I think this moment indicates she might actually betray the CD or some CD might betray IMU cause they don’t know the real history and where fed lies from birth but yeah I might be crazy
Damn no tear jerking history that will destroy my soul
I have a theory that Kuzan and Saul were working together during the destruction of Ohara to protect the most important books from being destroyed in the buster call. Kuzan saved Saul and Saul and Kuzan saved the important books from the knowledge tree behind the scenes which later were retrieved by Saul and were brought to Elbaf.
Now Vegapunk Lilith is in charge of those books and she might already have gone through them. Elbaf fight is definitely going to revolve around Ohara and the knowledge Clover and Oharans discovered about the void century.
but wasnt it implied that no one knew about the void century. and that includes the top ranking marines. i dont even think akainu knew. base of his reaction when vegapunk had that announcement. i mean the most smartest man just found out about it so i dont think. akainu or everyone in the wg knew about it. except the gorosie
Luffy takes after his dad’s side for looks, so physical resemblance is the weakest piece of evidence in trying to find his mom.
I’ve got two kids. One looks just like their paternal grandfather and the other like their maternal grandfather. If I took the first one and had a police lineup of different woman for you to guess the mom, you wouldn’t have anything to go off of. Same is true for Luffy. His mom could look like Dadan and Luffy would still come out looking like Garp
What you saying is true but I’m referring to CD specifically , what I’m saying is it’s actually not spoken about enough how the CD families don’t even know about the Void century and where the main players in the conflict.
It’s as if imu is even a secret to them which is even crazier
regular cd families dont matter. i mean garling was okay killing one.
Yeah the dynamics inside the holy land is so fascinating but I’m still so intrigued as to why ODA specifically had that panel of a CD we know react that why
maybe because it was also news to them. i mean being a celestial dragon and not knowing ur origin. yeah id be shocked too.
Exactly my point did the og kings intentionally not tell there children what happened/and or hide imu from them? Or is it because they hide it from them, or lastly my personal favourite did the Nerona family actually silence all those who opposed them within the CD and slowly wiped the history from the other families adding more families up there diluting the truth
i actually have a theory about cd too. i think nami is one and is actually garlings daughter. let me tell you why. nami and shanks is related was discarded by garling because of their defected hair. garling put shanks inside a treasure chest as one of the prize in god valley. and nami was found in a country where it was implied that the celestial dragon held another hunt there im thinking that maybe nami was also one of the prize inside a treasure chest. because that country was erased from the maps too just like god valley.
timeline. Harald died 14 years ago, Shanks stole the fruit from CP9 12 years ago. 2 years gap, also Shanks already visited Elbaf when Harald died 14 years ago
There is a running theory that the Yami Yami no mi will turn out to actually be the Hito Hito no mi model: davy Jones. Going off that, we know Davy Jone's legend of being cursed by a sea devil to the bottom of the sea. My theory posits that the ocean takes devil fruit powers because of Davy Jones, as we know the "yami yami" can do just that. Perhaps the reason is Davy Jone's hatred of sea devils due to the curse, so the devil fruits, which have devil spirits, arent allowed in his domain.
We already know the giants are the ones who saved the books and saul. Kuzan would have gone to work with saul if he knew he was still alive instead of drinking away his days in a bar
Nice theory bro but usually no one survives those hunts
some did. shanks did. kuma and evankov did.
Nice bro but nami probably was daughter of some royal family in her country and that country could be something like ohara that knew about the void century and that's why they destroyed the country
The options were literally Shanks or BB for the Son of Rocks eons ago lol
Well there's the whole man marked by flames character who summons whirlpools that is also a candidate for davy jones

Do you people actually think the god valley incident is for shakky
100% shakky is a part of it, but the actual reason for rocks was in hope of stealing one of two devil fruits he was looking for.
as for roger’s reason tho, maybe 100% pure simp. lol
we dont know the details of how ginny’s broadcast looks like.
what did she actually leak? the event? the presence of shakky? the prizes? who knows
Could be potentially the fact that a bucanner was there as well considering their race is “extinct” same as lunarians
its a nice development, but lets be frank: this theory was born from a misunderstanding of the ass hints and speculations from a certain leaker
That makes no sense. I doubt all these people would flock because there is a bucanner there. It wasn’t shown to matter to anyone but the Gorosei. No one ever mentioned it in Kumas life and we never saw pirates interested in him because of that.
Yo is this all legit?
Purely fan speculation. Nothing is confirmed.
As of the latest chapter, I think Rocks may have found laughtale and learned about the void century before Roger, in chap. 1157 he says "Garp should have been a pirate" meaning he might know 'D', But instead of laughing like roger he might have gotten angry of what Imu has done to the 'D Clan' and kept it secret unlike roger who broadcasted it, Roger found the op after he got Oden, and oden was in WB crew, also meaning WB wasn't part of rocks crew( don't remember the years but, rocks crew was primetime 38 years before the present and roger found it 22 years ago), or rocks family knew what the D meant, and other members like Laws family eventually forgot.
We know that rocks didn't visit laughtale, cause in the maga, when roger reaches there, he says that " noone has set foot here in 800 years" , that means even if rocks knew about it, he didn't go there
Its as likely as anything else, if I told you three years ago Luffy didnt have a paramecia you'd have slapped me, 17 years ago youd have laughed up the mere notion of someone with 2 devil fruits
Ussop will achieve his dream by being the one thing he had always been. Human. A person living in a world traversed by powers beyond imagination, at what point with the truly strong fear for themselves as Ussop has for years. He shall become the bravest of the seas, a warrior unbound by the shackles of fear, when even his crew mates cower at an unknown power. Ussop a brave warrior of the seas shall achieve his dreams in the one way he always has. Facing his fears like no one else. When others feel the feeling is foreign, he'll stand up onces again but he is Ussop, a brave warrior of the sea. He is human and that's why he is so brave.
I say this because of the new danger that is Imu. Devils and demons are always linked to the worst, the most dangerous, and the most fearful of aspects. So why not show a dream so simple yet necessary come into effect when faced with such a foe. The one who cowers in front of nightmares shall be the one to show how brave anyone can be.
my theory is that loki doesn't have a devil fruit and is like shirahoshi where he has an innate power, which is controlling the weather. He can summon lightning with a strike of his hammer. Also, when he was a sad baby he caused extreme weather on elbaph.
He never wanted to be on Rocks crew after he betrayed them he was givin the strongest man in the world title and in the last arc he was in he got stabbed in the back same as rocks by someone who he defeated but let join the crew thus making him a FRAUD
Whitebeard is the traitor
Did the narrator say that? Because if not it could just be Roger thinking that no one has been there. Unless there is some island visitor tracker which we don't know about yet
Maybe Rayleigh "stole" her because she obviously liked him and she went with him and that angered the rocks pirates because she had some form of use for them and now was gone
Still she retired to pirate island to get away from the heat of the marines….only to be captured (allegedly) by the celestial dragons as a trophy….and rescued by Rayleigh. And then relocated to Sabody….a hot bed for slavery? And spent decades there …..with her husband…..no offense more safe places could have been made for retirement
Im saying its possible roger didnt even know because maybe rocks didnt tell anyone, Roger wanted to tell everyone cuz to spread the adventurous futures of being a pirate holds. Because nobody explicitly announced he may have though it was only him(and his crew), maybe rocks went a different direction: getting revenge on imu/20 kingdoms
I think arlong's going to come back as a holy knight's slave since we didnt see him in impel down and peoples like don krieg are making a come back i can see arlong having a role as a story and be a final antagonist for jinbei since jinbei doesnt feel like he has any motivations and doesnt really feel well in the crew him fighting against a relic of his past for his final fight would be great, also it would be cool seeing an old antagonist get turned into a living weapon that has no will
Oda is subverting expectations for a much grandeur reveal.
13 reasons why it is not Shakky. Some of the reasons listed below is repetitive. mind you.
- Shakky's beauty is a recent thing. There was no mention of it nor was there any build up to her "beauty" until recently.
- Objectifying Shakky; she has gone on record that she doesn't belong to anyone.
- Kuja were treated like idols during this era. They were easily looting "helpless" pirates. The whole chapter 1156 is dedicated to them being able to get their wants easily.
"You didn't even try to fight" - She's not a damsel in distress. She was an empress of a tribe who are efficient with haki.
- Her cunning and resourceful nature allows her to take advantage of others (when she arrived in the beehive and when she was struggling to open a jar etc.)
Oda has emphasized her beauty so much that all men are susceptible to her charm. Even Gloriosa who is prosperously beautiful is outshone by her.
It is also not the first time someone or something has been referred to as a national treasure. - Gloriosa seems nonchalant for someone whose "sister" was kidnapped.
- Ginny was able to tap into the transmission and learned about the prizes (specifically the two fruits) and she leaked the intel two weeks prior to GV.. There were 6 boxes visible when prizes were mentioned.
- Rocks pirates weren't even sure it was there. Besides each had their own motives, like Big Mom for example was after the two devil fruits much to Kaidou's dismay. Captain John was being himself. And it wasn't until Kaidou mentioned Roger, they were on the same page; to settle their score once and for all. It specifically makes sense for Gloriosa to say this as her love was not reciprocated by Roger through normal means, so she chose violence as a means to winning him over.
- People think Roger pirates came for Shakky when they're clearly making their moves after Rocks'. Even the dialogue, "it has been a whole year" is just Roger pirates wanting their payback. We learned that Roger had a bad encounter with rocks a year prior. Roger had to swallow his pride for a whole year. Even the dialogue at the end suggest they were going after two separate things (Rocks was gunning for something else while Roger was chasing after him)
- Roger is often romanticized in a good light. We only get snippets of his darker side. We tend to forget he is as much of a brute as Rocks is. They're the cream of the same crop; no different to the CDs when violence is a factor. If her beauty can charm these men, it should particularly work on the lustful nature of CDs. No rescuing needed.
- If she was allegedly captured as a trophy for CDs, why would she relocate to Sabaody, a hot bed for slavery, out of all places and live there to this day given how sought after she is/ was...
- Goon Valley is not out of the bag. It could have been a rescue mission. However, the way how big mom worded it, "let's just steal what we're after and scram" sells the idea that they're primarily here to steal an object which was previously stolen from them, and Rocks simply ended up losing the sight of the goal and went after the CDs and their slaves instead, according to Sengoku, who is an unreliable narrator because he will be biased as a navy and he is hypocritical about certain situations like Ohara for example.
- It was definitely one of the two devil fruits he wanted. He wasn't enacting his plan any further unless it met the criteria. He was able to build a strong crew for himself and he was actively trying to recruit Harald into his cause despite the numerous rejection because not only he acknowledged Harald's strength, he was also pivotal to his plan through the consumption of one of the fruits and Elbaph being the key to take down the Holy land. Why risk it all over a woman?
TL; DR It is not palpable to rule out Shakky just yet as there's clearly evidence shown which links her up to GV and she has been the primary focus in these last 2 chapters, possibly leading to the GV flashback.
However, like I suggested, she's not just your typical damsel in distress who requires saving. She has her own charm and wits to get out of situations, and she's deffo strong enough to defend herself as the previous Kuja empress.
And following the conversations between other characters says otherwise.
Point 1 is counter to your idea. The 2 chapter Shakky focus is the build up. That way when her role is revealed it isn’t coming out of nowhere, as it would have if we learned she was the treasure before all of it.
None of the other points specifically discount her from being the treasure. It’s just different ways of throwing doubt on it
So his powers is affected by seastones too? Everyone been stating if his SEASTONE CHAINS get released his power will destroy elbaf
Will luffy be mad when he reaches laugh tale if he finds out that JoyBoy layed out luffy's future because Luffy want's to be free?
I think he just wouldn’t pay attention
Luffy wants to be free, and that means he wants to do what he wants
If his fate is set in stone and he tries to fight it, he’s no longer doing what he wants he’d be letting the prophecy dictate his every action, just in the opposite direction
Luffy would only be free if he ignores the prophecy and continues on living his life, regardless of whether or not his actions line up to prophecy
Didn‘t the previous empress die off the Love Sickness?? Since both Shakky and Gloriosa are alive, it leaves her as the only one .. thus, aint no way she had a child with Dragon and than ended up dying of Love Sickness
We don't know if shanks has zero devil fruits on his ship and we don't know if he knows anything about the one piece
Roger knows the one piece from rocks d xebec, after the god valley incident he be looking for poneglyph
I dont think so. Lodestar is where you learn about the poneglyps and laughtale and Roger was the first to ever reach that. And that was a year before gods valley. He really started his laughtale journey the year he got Oden.
So what exactly are the ancient weapons….are they really weapons or devices for the new age of a flooded world?

God valley Incident happen 38 years before timeline, Roger meet oden 26 years before timeline, you do the math, i think roger maybe knows the last island but doesnt know how to reach it until he meet oden
D clan attracts another D clan? Just like stand user attract each other
Has anyone every theorized that the Seakings are actually humans or giants turned into sea kings by the upgraded version of Sugars fruit? Afterall the parallels between dressrosa and the world government are very strong, and since the world was flooded there doesn't seem to be any time for Seakings to naturally evolve in just under a couple thousand years since the first apocalypse
