no, i dont feel good about giving my manga/comic to a publisher and such. i though about self publishing a while back but im not in any financial position to be betting money like that so ima most likely try to do 1-2 chapters a month starting at some point in the next year for free and if it gets popular enough a half a year to a year later then i might make a website with a small subscription service or a patreon ( i feel patreon is a better way to go about things though ).

so if you want to start making a manga a year from now, and you want people to read it
it might be a good move to be making a lot of fan art now, and try to build up some followers
like the 20 characters you're doing, post that on /r/onepiece, stuff like that
you can't just come up to /r/onepiece and say "im a one piece fan and im drawing a comic, you guys should read it", but you can show them fanart, and if they'll like your stuff
then it's possible that you'll have some kind of audience by the time you branch out into your own manga

the point I wanted to make is that I wouldn't recommend drawing a LOT of fan art to most people, since their art is not unique enough, if they get popularized as a fan art artist, it doesn't mean anyone actually wants to see their own work, and it might actually hurt their chances of making their own thing successful.
but with your artstyle, it's possible to build a fanbse for your kind of art, even if they're only looking at OP characters at first, they'll become fans of just the way you draw.

when new pokemon are announced and stuff like that, people are thirsty for anything related to them, so they're more enthusiastic
that's my opinion: don't shill yourself out, draw stuff you actually like, but also look for what is popular at this moment. if something is really big and everyone's paying attention to it, it's easier to get a lot of views on fan art that way, adn wtih your distinctive style, you can turn those views into followers

See I understand it in a way that when you say it its like "Everyone about any drawing can say that"
When you write something about the drawing itself, like you know, talk about whats actually in the picture
it suddenly becomes unique
And to me its much more motivating to see someone take the time to discuss or talk about my work of art specifically, not just drop a "this looks good" and off to another drawing to drop a "this looks nice"
