Hello. I may sound stupid, but, how do I activate Ray-Tracing? My PC has 16 Gigabytes of RAM, game goes beautifully great at 60 fps with every setting in Ultra-Nightmare. Yeah, this doesn't support Raytracing at all unfortunately

you'll need a discrete GPU that's at least Nvidia 2000 series or AMD 6000 series to have Raytracing

This can be due to the Integrated GPU (if you have one for your CPU). Disable and enable should work as others face the same problem on this and other games. Might also be due to an update for Doom Eternal itself

Ok. Reading the specs - the minimum dedicated GPU is an NVidia GTX 1050Ti (4GB). Your CPU meets the min requirements. Now they say on TomsHardware that it is possible with changing the settings to Lowest that one can play on similar Hardware to yours.
It's also possible an update on the game itself has caused issues too

Yeah, the game probably tried using your integrated graphics of your processor (5600G has that) instead of your dedicated GPU (3060)
And DOOM Eternal doesnt like integrated graphics, like at all

Reading about this, it could be due to the profile was linked incorrectly. Which is known to happen. Now, on Reddit, someone had a similar issue and had to unlink profiles with Bethesda support. If you can get in touch with them (provided you haven’t already), they should help you with this. Had a similar issue with my old Steam account tied to my Bethesda, unlinked and synced with GOG - no problem there. Hope it helps

The Year One Pass is the DLC - skin for Doom Slayer, and classic weapon sounds. What they did was have Battlemode (As the main download/game) and the Campaign “Addon”. Battlemode is the largest install, with the Campaign is smaller to install

Probably due to it not loading properly as it was mid game from the sounds of it. I’ve had similar issues when playing games and the models didn’t render. As painful as it would be, best to reset the level from the beginning, ensuring that everything loads properly. When you exit, then it will save and should continue without issue

(1) Did you play any MP game before and did anything that violated the Rules online?

I talked to support and they said it was payback someone hacked my account bought shit then refunded it then that got me banned and If I want it back I need 3,200 dollars

Hello all, I've been having issues since I bought Doom Eternal on steam with the game refusing to load. I've tried everything ive seen on the internet and had no luck, reached out to Bethesda and they gave me 10 things to try, none of them worked, and now none of them will respond to me after a month. One possible fix that I couldn't figure out how to do was they told me to disable ray tracing which I thought was an in game setting, but since I couldn't get in the game, then it wouldn't make a difference, yet bethesda said that you could disable it externally somehow. I couldn't find anything online saying you could or how to. Other than this, I don't know what else I can try.

well since you were asking about doom eternal performance, i assumed you didn't own that one (or hadn't for long). you didn't say you had played no doom games ever, so i was wondering what you had played

If it hasnt been mentioned yet, i solved my issue on a Acer nitro 5.

First of i went to nvidea control panel and selected the rtx 3050 as default, and for the program.

On Windows 11 you do the same in "windows settings" - graphic settings.

Then i went to amd.com (wich is the cpu for my laptop, ryzen 5 5600h) and downloaded the latest driver.

Rebooted the computer then launched the game with zero hiccups.

Is there anybody who could possibly answer some questions I have about GZDOOM?

Every now and then I encounter bugs that basically soft lock me when I’m playing mods.

I use ZDL to launch them and I don’t have a ton of mods loaded all at once, I usually only have one or two.

But for some reason, buttons or doors or whatever will just stop working on either vanilla maps or custom wad maps. I’ll even check to make sure I chose the correct Doom Iwad and still I’ll get soft locked.

Ex: I was playing “Doom Infinite” only mod I had loaded, after 2 levels I randomly got soft locked at E2M1 when a button to open a teleporter didn’t actually open the teleporter. The button was pressed but it didn’t open.

Ex: Playing Brutal Doom, only mod loaded, playing on Knee deep in the dead, I believe it was on level 4 or 5 but went to open a door and it opened once but then never let me open it again.

These happen once in a while usually and it’s really frustrating. Is there some compatibility setting I need to change? While I am new to modding, I find it hard to believe this is just “normal” especially since I don’t see anyone else having these issues.

you cant really turn XLR into USBC because XLR is analog and USBC is digital. You'll need a DAC

and ofc converters are expensive and not small enough to put in a cable

Well up until 2 years ago you can get entry level gaming laptops in my region with recent processors but with a 1650 for quite good prices, and its still a capable gpu and runs a lot of games like a champ

unfortunately due to an incorrect bios update(thanks to windows 11, I'm honestly happy with linux now) my laptop died and I had to switch to a 13th gen Intel laptop which has Iris Xe graphics, but it simply isnt able to run doom eternal(didn't try 2016 properly so it crashed but it probably would have poor fps)

There are many games which can be played at about 720p if they are graphically intensive on iris xe, but its nowhere near AMD's integrated solution which seems to have way better GPU performance

I had this problem with ratchet and clank on my 3080, no matter 720p or 4k or what settings I used, it was running at 8fps. All of a sudden last night while changing settings every 20 seconds, it just started giving me 100fps+ for no reason. Try verifying the game files because that's all I can even think of that I did like 30 minutes before it started working.

Dell G7 9770. It's one of those coolers that can only have the exact tightness they made it have with the springs on the screws.

I've tried undervolting this to where I was squeezing it as low as the program would allow me to go and still it gave me about a degree of difference.

I was using throttlestop, but when I got frustrated and lowered a bunch of sliders at random, there seems to have been a cap on how low anything could go.

I mean, I don't really like the idea of lowering my performance to bring the CPU down to temps where it should be operating.

When I first got this thing, it was great and operated at like 40-50c and then running a game was like 75c max. All of a sudden, one night I noticed that the temps were jumping up so I repasted it several times.

I don't remember what I was doing at the time, but it shouldn't be doing any of what it's doing. I've even reinstalled Windows, flashed the bios back and forth, (had to do that to even use throttlestop because they locked the CPU down) I've even installed Linux on it. The only thing I can find that works is turning Turbo Boost off, but I've literally never done that until this problem happened and what that did was lock the CPU at 2.6ghz and it never goes any higher. I don't know what to do anymore other than sell this thing at whatever I can get and then save up for a year to get a new one.

It was a fresh install of Windows, so it shouldn't have had anything running I didn't know about.

I don't think the charger could be malfunctioning since wattage is drawn, not pushed. Maybe there's like a micro hole in one of the heat pipes.. could that do it?

well, every single batch of frames generated by the GPU, has to be then processsed by the CPU, but the CPU ALSO has to deal with other stuff, like streaming assets, loading and running scripts, events, triggers, copying stuff, system related tasks and interrupts, input handling, etc

so a weak CPU will result in low FPS or stuttering regardless of your GPU (in most games)

DOOM eternal is pretty unique, as all dooms, cause they use a particularly well engineered game engine that runs pretty fucking well on most machines

you can run it at 8K with ray tracing on on an RTX 4090

Yes it is able to.

The power is distributed in different ways in the system, but to simplify. The pci express slot where you connect the graphics card can supply up to 75w. If the gpu needs more then you need to connect cables directly from the power supply, which are y pin or 8 pin PCIE connectors.

Just did a quick search and yeah, as i assumed. The 4060 can keep stable 200 fps at max settings at 1080p on heavy fights.

And around 80 at 4k.

But the cool thing is that you can aolso turn on dlss with the 4060, which at 4k would give around 100 fps in heavy fight. Pretty fucking awesome.

Search for your gpu on google, asus strix 1080ti, the asus support page should turn up. Goto the downloads section, and try to find the oldest version available of asus aura lighting

In the rpoduct support page they tend to keep all the compatible versions for the particular product.

Ive played the game before and it ran smoothly, but for some reason its tweaking rn

Just bought Doom Eternal (Deluxe edition) on steam

When I try launching it, no window appears. Steam says it's running for about 10 seconds and then shuts down, same for the Task Manager.

Tried:

-Reinstalling

-Updating drivers

-Restarting pc (many times throughout)

-Running steam, the game and idTechLauncher as admin (separately and toegether)

-Opening the game from a shortcut

-Bashing my head against the table

-Updating to Windows 11

-Reinstalling on SSD

-Running System integrity checks

-Reinstalling Direct X 12 and Visual C++

None worked, what do I do now? Rip and Tear the PC?

Everything non-Doom seems to run fine, even other "heavy duty" games like RDR2 or Elden Ring.

Only anomaly I could notice is an icon of a cloud with an ! mark with a yellow dot on the side appearing for a split second in the steam library when I press "play"

I've seen that, and found 5 ways to fix it (I'm that desperate). In the end tho, the issue is different. What you are referring to is the "yellow-point-exclamation-mark-cloud" staying there all the time if I got that right. Mine just pops out for a split second when I start the game, apart from that it says "updated"

The steam cloud shouldn't interfere in any way, as it just takes the savegame and saves it into the steam cloud. It doesnt affect the game in any way

Try disabling your Anti Virus completely and try again. Especially if you use anything other than Windows Defender

I heard that undervolt helping with lower the temperature, but i think since we lower the voltage isn’t that the gpu have to push its power higher and result to higher temperature?

I only use it for tekken 8 so sadly , but i did heavn benchmark with the similar setting

I had a friend telling me that it wouldn’t help , guess he is wrong now

So lets say i want to undervolt in normal use , including gaming and anything except some game in the future, or tekken 8 to be specific
Is it worth ? And what should i do exactly

And overclock for game and stuff i want

I did lower the voltage while the gpu clock is at 1400 and it did crash once

Guess the voltage was too low so i higher it a bit
