not really but i do see why some people do. 2016 has a way lower skill ceiling and is generally easier to get into. the levels being shorter also makes it way better to just pick up and play. i still prefer eternal but 2016 has it's place.

there are a lot more broken tactics in 2016 (double ssg, siege mode gauss cannon + regular gauss cannon, stun bomb, remote det etc.) so it feels a lot more boring to play for me.

Yeah that’s one thing I despise in 2016. You fall from a high elevation, Doomguy goes into a recovery animation, and it screws you in the process. I guess it was added for more immersion? I don’t think it’s there to punish players.

I believe there’s a Quad-Damage powerup in that arena. It lasts quite long, you can use that to take out the Mancubi. Micro-Missiles + Rockets also work quite well in my experience.

Heh, the Hell Guards are my favorite. Not because they’re the easiest (in my opinion), but mainly due to hectic nature of the fight, and its presentation. I like that you have to figure out how to approach them. For example, shooting the yellow plasma ball will stun and disable the first guy’s shield.

Any FA weapon really, or a sniper rifle.
But if you're just that good with the explosive shot mod on the CSG you can go for long range shots with that.

There are some really weird bugs though. If you kill something with explosives while it’s scaling down a platform, it’ll stand in its default position and then just disappear after a few seconds. Or sometimes, you’ll do a rune trial while in the campaign, complete it, only to have it bring you back to the main menu screen.

Sort of. For example, you’ve got 80 HP, and an attack does 90 damage. In theory you’d die from that, but Eternal will catch you at 5 HP.
Now if we change the health variable to, let’s say 20, then you’d die.

In 2016, you could have 80 HP and instantly die from a fireball that was thrown all the way from the other side of the map.

Ever encountered this glitch in when if you’re at low health and you got attacked by a demon, you would get pushed far away as you die? I haven’t experienced this but have watched someone else being killed in 2016 to this. It’s quite funny.
