The last area is strictly designed to have the tendrils go straight forward and there is one BFG pickup for each wave. I've just been doing it as a personal challenge for myself since I've achieved everything else and get bored.

Both mine and this one have damage decls for it (damage/damage/zion/firearm/sp/ pistol related. You can change damage there.
I don't remember how to change ammo for existing weapons, but you need weapon/weapon/zion/player/sp pistol and pistol secondary charge to change ammo in use and make it non-infinite. It's more complicated than changing damage only, though.

Equipment in 2016 generally feels pretty superfluous, yea. Siphon grenade with the armor upgrade is strong and I know the hologram helped Devo get his no hit run, but in normal play all 3 options are kinda whatever.

For me it depends from run. If it's not restricted and I can use most OP stuff, then I barely use equipment. In other cases, I use all 3. I often use Frag one, use Siphon with Rune often too, rarely use Hologram, but still happens sometimes.

Outside of Equipment Rune+Siphon, equipment feels on weaker side on its own in vanilla and wins my attention mostly due to suit upgrades for equipment like faster recharge/extra grenade, which allows to spam it a lot. With all OP stuff, it feels just needless in most cases.

I don't remember for sure, but I think Cacos take extra damage from Gauss like in Eternal (but I may be wrong).
What I remember is that they also can be headshoted, if you shoot them in the eye.
I don't have any tactics vs Mancubi, since they are just mid. Avoid puddles from CyberMancubi. Shoot in their belly or in their face.

Practice my friend. It was actually one of the levels I hated and struggled with most on my first playthrough. Now I love and breeze through it. Just keep going. It gets way easier once you've done it once, twice, and on.

You get it once you feel like you've found your best weapon binds for you on pc. The ones that feel the easiest to go back and forth with smoothly. If you're on console, extra practice with the controller until it feels more fluid. And once you learn the levels themselves and where you're supposed to go, you won't spend so much energy feeling literally lost. Then the fun begins and you play around with weapons and knowing which enemies to wipe out first and last.

When you enter, use the yellow haste orb in the middle. You can use the hologram equipment button to distract them if you want then shoot them. I just use the haste power up and then the plasma stun bomb and move constantly. Don't let the imp fireballs kill you. You can stun bomb, then use the super shotgun on their tails twice to kill them quick. Or whichever weapon you prefer. Gauss seize mode works really well as a one-shot to the tail. But use the stun bomb mod.

I say just do it or it's gonna be a headache.

Yeah just use a bfg shot. Only one though. Try to move around a bunch and kill the first two if you can since they don't all spawn at once. One BFG shot wouldn't clear them all if that makes sense.

Ok yeah there's two more you can get. You'll get more before and during the final fight with the Cyberdemon. But you may need them in the big fight right before them. There's one in an area you'll see after a bit. It's right in the room where the Saving Throw Rune Trial is. You'll see it. Then there is another in the big area before the Cyberdemon, as well as a Haste and a Quad Damage power up.

If you can't fight in fair way, you can always camp on the left - there is a hole there for secret right near door you enter from. You can hide there, get out, use Holo in open area, hide and shoot from there. Remote detonation for Rocket Launcher can also be useful - just don't blow yourself up.

Let them charge at you and just double jump over the pinkies and launch rockets into their tails or use the super shotgun at close range on their tail and back which is the weak point

Fighting them from the front will take way more ammo

Issue with jumping over them is that it's not the simpliest method and requires to feel double jump quite well, if you don't have higher ground. If you have higher ground - sure, it's way easier.
But yeah, fighting them from the front is a bad option and most weapons don't deal good enough splash damage to damage their tails/belly from the front.

Well there are lots of options, i am just going with one of the easiest ways for players not used to that fight

I would not recommend launching rockets at their tail in a close area where everything is moving fast. Any other weapon literally.

Hiya fellas, SmolSlayer here, i am having trouble playing Doom(2016) due to being new to this game (not new to doom) and the fact that i am deaf so i am forced to depend on visual cues and i am told that audio cues is huge part of it combat wise so if there is any deaf players here, tips to adjust would be appreciated, i have switch version btw

As for vanilla - try to stick closer to walls with your back and as said by Bobthebob be on a move. Use OP tools. And I highly recommend to watch any playthrough.

Edited: also try to search for secrets to upgrade yourself. Upgrade your map scanning and your upper HUD would pulse, when you are near secret.
And saving system usually shows, when fight is over.

Grenade jumps are tricky to time but rocket jumps can be figured out easily, just gotta play around with it until you get it right. You can actually BFG jump in Quake II!

As for Rocket jumps - never used it in vanilla, since damage is a bit too high and effect is too weak, as far as I remember.

Shoot them when the yellow ball starts to appear. I use the heavy assault rifle for that, then right after I use the gauss cannon Seige Mode and Rocket and throw a grenade in there too. Just shoot the with anything when their shield is down.

I tend to open up with a BFG shot and then just prioritize demons based on their distance to me as well as their type. For example if a Pinky or a Caco is getting too close to me and I can't get away quick enough, I'm pretty quick to focus my attention on them with either rockets or SSG. Mancubus I'll pick off from a medium range as able since they don't move so much compared to the others. Barons I let chase me while I parkour around the arena taking out some of the other higher priority demons.

I know that's not a whole lot of precision strategy, but that's what I do in my playthroughs for that spot.

Fodder is for quick easy glorykills for health.

There's some BFG ammo around, so grab it and keep it handy for them dire moments.

Might still take a few tries as it's a tough arena, but you'll get through it

Some achievements are too annoying, some too hard, some are broken or require stuff, which isn't related directly to a game.
I also SAMed achievement for Postal 1 because it required Linux or emulator for it and I SAMed achievement for Zombie Night Terror, because it didn't work for me and there would be no updates for a game.
I mean, everyone set their own goals and standards for using/not using SAM.
