I don't remember demons to run away with Imps, Possessed Soldiers, Hell Razers, Summoners as an exception. And all of these do so, to find better spot for ranged attacks. But yes, they are more aggressive in Eternal.

You guys might want to give infernal run boosting a shot too. Just get everyone near the goal in a square and toss the ball back and forth, and then switch goals after a while (or end the half by throwing the ball to the ground) so the other team can get epic save medals and extra xp. I've had multiple matches with like 40k points, but if that doesn't translate directly to xp then I'm not sure which is better.

I used to play this game on my old PC with windows 10 with no problem. Now I have a new PC: Win 11, Ryzen 7800x3D, RTX 4070ti Super, 32GB RAM.
When I want to launch the game, nothing happens. I tried to reinstall it, verify integrity files, I tried to set launch option "+renderAPI 1",....I tried lots of things but nothing works for me and I donw know what to do. There is video on reddit with the same problem but I just dont have that blue screen which is there for a while

eventually when you found enough praeetor tokens, those chips you pull out from the dead robot dudes, you could upgrade yourself to not take the self damage if I recall correctly :D

I’ve been doing a first playthru of eternal and the platforming and movement stuff makes me miss 2016 a little when it was more rip and tear and less jump puzzles
tho I do love the combat flow of eternal. Interestingly armor pickups off flame thrower are teaching me to use the alpha rotation more instead of monoweapon. I can totally see how they’re incentivizing a particular play style

yeah I like how Eternal tightens the load time loop, so a death isn't as disruptive, but I am noticing I'm not getting into flow state nearly as much with eternal vs 2016

FYI, the best strategy isn't sector boosting. Idk if that's what you were trying or not, but that ain't it

You want to find a match of infernal run, and then go near one of the goals and chuck the ball back and forth. With 4 players, you can just form a rectangle and toss it around

One team will get 50 points per interception, the other will get 225 because of the epic save medal. After a while, end the half and then when goals swap return to the same spot so the other team can get 225 per interception

If you run into random players, just block them and you won't run into them again. To guarantee that you get infernal run, start searching in team play and check if it says the mode in the bottom left is infernal run. If it doesn't, back out and try searching again. You want both parties to have infernal run on some map selected, so that you can guarantee you get it. If infernal run is one of the options in the map vote after a match is done, you can just vote for it and you don't need to back out.

If one of the goals looks like it'd be annoying as heck to do stuff near, just run to the other goal, it's probably better. If you have 4 people and need to toss around a goal, make sure people on a team are opposite of each other so you can just pass it around.

Absolutely. It has the best story in the doom series, my personal favorite gameplay, an additional mode called SnapMap that allows you to create your own levels and game modes, and also play other users levels and game modes (this feature/mode is awesome and super replayable), and a great multiplayer as well. The only caveat with the multiplayer is that it's dead on some platform/region combos. Personally I play on PlayStation in NA and it's super active, but I've heard for others on different platforms and regions that they cant find even a single game. But anyway, this game goes on sale for like $4 USD, and if you can get it for that much it is beyond worth it. Hope you enjoy it if you decide to buy!

I could never bring myself to play this game again, unless it's Res Ops, Foundry or Argent Facility 1. The one thing this game has over Eternal really is those 3 levels because they're nice and open, atmospheric and nonlinear, even if you're hunting down gore nests and doing the same song and dance with imps and soldiers each time. They're just comfy.

You can actually even see a lot of Romero's design principles at play which is really cool. Rooms are full of memorable setpieces, geometry and visual landmarks, you can see into rooms and secret areas before visiting them proper pretty consistently, and portions of the maps even loop around. Too bad the game loses that so early on and becomes just as arcadey and linear as Eternal by the time you reach Destroyed Argent. The art direction also becomes a lot more bland futuristic sci-fi instead of industrial which is pretty lame.

||What's funny is I'm 99% positive the first 5 levels of 2016 are the KDITD equivalent of classic Doom, which ironically is also considered the best episode in the game.||

And then Doom 64 leads into Dark Ages which leads into 2016

And it has everything, lore, crazy fast paced more skilled base gameplay, amazing soundtracks, great level design, etc

But doom 2016 is the best doom game when you think about hell and the original concept of it all

Your best bet is searching the channel history for your platform and pinging other people who wanted to find a match to see if they’re still interested

The best xp boosting strategy isn't sector boosting. You want to find a match of infernal run, and then go near one of the goals and chuck the ball back and forth. With 4 players, you can form a rectangle and toss it around, and with 2 players (and 2 idle alts) you can just toss it back and forth and level up even faster.

One team will get 50 points per interception, the other will get 225 because of the epic save medal. After a while, end the half and then when goals swap return to the same spot so the other team can get 225 per interception.

If you run into random players, just block them and you won't run into them again. To guarantee that you get infernal run, start searching in team play and check if it says the mode in the bottom left is infernal run. If it doesn't, back out and try searching again. You want both parties to have infernal run on some map selected, so that you can guarantee you get it. If infernal run is one of the options in the map vote after a match is done, you can just vote for it and you don't need to back out.

If one of the goals looks like it'd be annoying as heck to throw the ball near, just run to the other goal, it's probably better. If you have 4 people and need to toss around a goal, make sure people on a team are opposite of each other so you can just pass it around.

the early game is very different, the late game is mostly the same

early game so you have very little health and resources give you little health as well, so your aim is to dodge enemies more so than be aggreesive

once you get the op guns and health upgrades than the game is mostly the same

the first 3 levels are the hardest

2016 MP is mostly dead, there’s lots of people trying to boost the achievements though so you can still get 100% completion if that’s your goal.

The campaign is great and absolutely worth getting though, especially since I think it’s on sale right now.

Platinum for that seems fairly easy, meanwhile on Steam we had to grind up 1982000 EXP for the 100%.

Had to cap points back to back when it's fairly meters close

But luckily the group I was in is fairly active everyday.
