I'd sooner they remade Eternal and see if they can take another crack at the plot and some other things. If they went back to 2016 I'd like to see them nerf imps and soldiers and possibly make weapons less pitiful without upgrades.

The RL in this game is pretty crappy without the RD mastery.

It's weak during attacks. When you fight only 1 it can get staggered during spinning and energy ball attacks and when there are 2 they can get staggered during most special attacks.

But it's the one that appears twice. Once before Reclaim the crucible and then again at the Reclaim the crucible level. I've hit it many times .A green electric lighting envelopes it I go in for the kill and it just shrugs off the hit and slays me 😫

You need to shoot electric lighting with some fast shooting weapon or hit it at right time. Then shoot boss, while it's staggered by own attack.

2016 multiplayer is great, yes. But that's where you're wrong. Doom 2016 IS great, not "was." I can still find matches every day and I still have so much fun with this game, It IS STILL great. (At least imo, and I assume others might not be able to find matches depending on their region/platform, but that doesn't mean the game is dead everywhere)

I could be lucky but I find matches more often than I don't, so while I do agree you have a point, it is easy enough to find matches to the point where I feel as if the game is still way too much fun and too active to call it "dead" or "bad"

there's even a few steam groups on the loose about it

And playstation is still pretty damn active. I thought it was pretty dead at first cus I only found empty lobbies but now that I'm actually playing more and getting more data I can say that the game is still going strong. There are always lobbies when I get on, half the time they're full. Lobbies do empty out sometimes (usually around every 2 hours or so a lobby will empty and you'll be the only one queueing), but they usually fill back up in around 10-20 minutes for me. So yeah, game is pretty damn active on PS.

Im not a PC player so I can't speak for certain but I play on PlayStation in the US and it's very active for me. I can find matches all the time, the game is active more often than it isn't in my experience. There are times when I cannot find matches, but I assume that if you are persistent and keep looking at different days and times that you will eventually find some matches. Yes, this would be the right channel to ask this. I can't speak for all platforms and regions but for me the most active day has been Sundays. The resolution was at the highest when I first started

I’ve noticed that even on ultra violence it can be a little easy, so I like mixing it up and using different weapons. You can definitely beat the game with just the Gauss and SSG, but it’s less fun that way. Also, make sure to look at different parts of people’s bodies when you do a glory kill to get different animations, if you get the same 3 ones on repeat it gets stale.

There are pickups occasionally and I think it refreshes between missions, but there’s generally not a lot. You should probably save your fuel for when you’re low on ammo and not use it on heavy demons

Doom Eternal fixed the fuel issue for the chainsaw, the first fuel pip regenerates there. You need pickups to get more though

The heavy demons, super heavy demons, and fodder demons are classes of the demons. The fodder are things like imps, soldiers, the possessed, and maybe the reapers (laser guys) too that are weak as heck and only take one chain saw pip to kill. The heavy demons are almost everything else (so hell knights, mancubi, revenants, etc. You haven’t seen a lot of them yet, but you will), and they need 3 chainsaw pips to kill. The super heavy demons are the bosses, they can’t be chain sawed. In Eternal, there are a couple of super heavy demons that aren’t bosses and are just thrown into the mix of the battles.

Eternals MP, while not bad per say, only caters to a hyper specific audience and a lot of those people genuinely would rather play with mods then the Battelmode itself

From my experience from others in this place, it's fun, but nowhere near the potential 2016 had with the pure variety it contained

I think you do need a dll for those commands to work, so I'd stay away from it. But if you do want to farm XP quickly, the infernal pass method is pretty quick. You just need willing people.

ps: you can switch for servers at the beginning. On PC it's at the bottom right.

Doom 2016 MP is a really fleshed out mode, it has great gunplay, maps, modes, and gimmicks. You said "isn't eternal more fun?" To which I will say no, most of the community agrees 2016 MP is more fun, but even if eternal's battlemode was more fun, how would that discredit playing 2016??? Just because there is a newer and better entry in a series means you can't enjoy the old ones? In reference to achievements, you say "why else would (anyone) play doom 2016 mp", but achievements are probably the last reason people should play this game. If the only reason they are playing the game is for their profile to say 100% achievements then why not just mod them in instead of wasting time playing something they don't want to play? You'll achieve the same end result and you don't have to waste your time. There are lots of reasons to play 2016 mp, but achievements is probably the dumbest one.

I don't see how a two weapon limit is relevant, that doesn't affect how the guns shoot. Also "over half the loadouts suck" is a gigantic overstatement. I can rock any loadout and do fine, and when I'm playing there's essentially no meta, I see everything being ran. Even by people who are max rank and supposedly "sweaty", they will run anything, because the gunplay is very balanced. I have no idea what "2-3 loadouts" you are talking about, because I have never seen a single loadout be used consistently.

Definitely siege mode for the weapon mods, I honestly don’t remember which of the others are best though. For runes, the one that gives you better air mobility is a must-have IMO. You don’t realize just how nice it is unless you try to get rid of it and go back to gameplay before it. The armor boost and rich get richer pair well together, infinite ammo is super powerful.

Runes: Dazed ansd Confused (longer stagger), Ammo Boost (more ammo + BFG ammo drop), Equipment Power (Siphon provides armor), Armored Offensive (more armor drops), Rich get Richer (infinite ammo from smaller armor). Saving Throw, if you play UN. In-Flight Mobility, if you like more mobility. Blood Fueled and Intimacy is Best for some builds.
Weapon Mods: Shotgun Explosive shot isn't bad, both Plasma Rifle are good for mastering, Rocket Launcher Lock On can be handy, Super Shotgun is very strong, Siege Mode for Gauss Rifle is OP, Chaingun Turret with infinite ammo is very strong.

The TTK is bullshittingly high to the point an SSG blast to the face will at best do 50 DMG. Vortex is still the best weapon by far by virtue of being long range and having raw DPS meaning you only need to worry about people creeping up behind you (easier said than done becase this game has dogshit audio balancing and you can't hear anything immediately behind you 95% of the time).
Half the loadouts indeed are suboptimal by having lesser raw DMG. Very few weapons manage to lower TTK to something tolerable, the only reason you see people running weak loadouts is because the game doesn't strongarm you into specific ones and no one is obligated to play 'properly' as the game is pretty slow and 100% casual. This still doesn't mean half the guns don't suck, which they objectively do.

The whole point of a 2-weapon limit in fact is meant to encourage QS because weapons by themselves are (mostly) extremely underpowered.

Well, you are playing an online shooter initially developed by Certain Affinity, the creators of the online comp for a grand portion of the past Halo games, that ID contracted... so yeah.
A surprising amount of people don't know this and it's always funny to see their reaction. :P

I'll say this though, I'd still take this over fucking Battlemode anyday. But it's a bit like choosing whether you'd rather be shot in the elbow or the kneecap.
This is doubly sad considering that out of the two options, Battlemode at least dared to do something original and at some point was more popular as a result... if only it wasn't terrible. Neither hold a candle to classic Doom's multiplayer though.

Not sure about specific numbers, but way more. You can stagger zombies with one hit and if I remember right, imps with 2 hits. I even seen 1 player finished whole game with melee only.

Happy new year fellow slayers! I've been playing Doom 2016 for the first time (I'm loving the modern take on the same fast-paced gameplay and outstanding design btw, the reverence towards the original games is very apparent, even with some design concepts lost in translation). However, I've encountered a few very specific bugs, mostly regarding collision detection glitches (which, to be fair, are expected in a 3d game with so much freedom of movement and complex geometries), and the keyboard/mouse inputs.

My question is: in cases where the engine can't acknowledge that an error has occurred(i.e. clipping through the floor, input failure, sound glitches, etc), is there a way to get more detailed bug reports? I'm tempted to turn to the modding community because I assume the 8 years of tinkering with the game assets is enough to understand the basics, yet I've been studying the Doom(1993) code on and off for almost 3 years, and I've barely scratched the surface.

I know it's weird to be talking about an 8-year-old game like this, I'm just so happy that I finally have the hardware to run this revival of one of my favourite game series

Honestly, 2016 had goated demon designs, and while eternal isn't bad, 2016 just made the demons feel like they really did climb from Hell

Eternal for whatever reason makes the demons look like...softer for some reason if that makes sense? Like 2016 make them look GENUINELY scary, because they look like legitimate rotting corpses, or legitimate creatures from hell

Eternal wasn't a bad game, it's a person love of mine, but 2016 was the first DOOM game I played when I was younger (initially rented it at my towns old video store, then got it for Christmas), and managed to beat in a day, playing nonstop.
