i found md5mesh and lwo blender plugins but the lwo one doesn't work for some reason

yeah, if you look at the issues page on the github, the devs refuse at least from what i seen to implement high res menu, its hardcoded, you can use Doom 3 enhanced if you want full on 16:9 or whatever modern res you want including the menu and ui

"Gert" is a Demon that appears in "Level 10: Communications Transfer" of Doom 3.

In-game----

He is only used once in the game as a Jumpscare, bursting out of a door while you're walking down a set of stairs.

Naming----

The name "Gert" came from the DOOM Discord user Sgt. Swiss Cheese, who jokingly named a screenshot of the monster posted by Callofz27 in the channel doom-3:

"I think the odd jumpscare demon looks like a Gert"
"if he had a name it would be Gert"

He then posts an image depicting the enemy, with white text sporting a pink glow, saying "Gert".

Later on, the name "Gert" would be adopted by the doom-3 channel as an inside joke, while also becoming an official emoji in the server.

Appearance----

Gert is a demon that looks like a Doom 3 Hell Knight, but with eyes and a Pinky-like mouth.
Not much is known about the odd monster's appearance, his slug-like texture is cut off early, and the model only has the necessary parts for the Jumpscare.

Its especially easy to see with the chaingun from how long it takes in really big rooms to hit things because its velocity is lower

There isn't a visible model for the bullets

They have a set velocity just like plasma and rockets, its simply set a lot higher

You can also see just from how long it can take for the puffs to appear

Vs say HL2 where even though everything has a visible tracer you can tell the puffs appear instantly

All the other bullet weapons have a velocity of 7200 but the Chaingun is only 2000, vs the Plasma's 700

I should note they for some reason used a 1992 Field & Stream article that showed a .38 Special going 600 fps which is... very low even for a bullet like that. You'd expect more like 700, and 1150 is the point they break the sounds barrier

So these projectiles are going barely the speed of a real bullet but you still won't find yourself dodging them

The chaingun decision had to have been for balance, those .30 armor piercing bullets would if anything be FASTER than the rest

My only complaint with the weapons is that the sound design feels very inconsistent. You have weapons like the plasma, BFG, and chaingun that all sound meaty and great. Then you have weapons like the pistol that sound underwhelming.

I still remember playing a... questionable copy of doom 3 with my athlon xp PC

I played the Xbox version. I remember buying the Deluxe Edition or whatever it was called because it had some making of documentary videos on the disc. Seemed really cool at the time.

Afaik it's the exact same as BFG edition so all content is there, just some enemy spawns have been removed and you get a shit ton of ammo, lol

I will say as someone who grew up with og doom that doom 3 did not win me over instantly. But more time passes the more I appreciate it for what it is and doom 3 is definitely very "doom"

Demons, guns, Mars base invaded by Hell, space marine in green armor, tech base aesthetic. What isn't Doom? Because even in Doom (1993) it tried to have some spooks here and there. You can't argue that Doom 3 isn't "Doom" and then play games like Doom Eternal which are more Quake with a little added meth to the mix.

Be running when you can, switch through weapons (the shotgun can be stupid don't rely solely on it), use explosives when you can, don't wait for imps to finish their spawn animation, when they come in, you can usually shotgun and machinegun them before they even get a chance to get you.
