There is a glitch where if you create a new nightmare game, save the game then create a uv game, load the nightmare game and then create a new uv game, then reload the nightmare save and you have normal pinkies on nightmare

I replayed 64 by playing BD64 VoH, I enjoyed but didn't fulfill me wanting to replay 64, so i'm just gonna play the og one again or maybe the gzdoom retribution port of it has good lighting the animations for both shotguns

I played psx doom 1 and doom 2, and I gotta say it's pretty interesting. It's not the best version of doom, really far from that, it's pretty dated. But the way it's presented is really interesting, they added doom 2 enemies on the doom 1 campaign. Which I think it's worth pointing out. The game doesn't have music, it's the same noises that were later used in d64. It feels like doom but if it was made by aliens. It's a totally different version from what we're used to.

Handle it like any other encounter. Take out hitscans first, dodge projectiles, kill the demons.
It can be helpful to go through the secret door to take out upper enemies first, but don't take too long or that respawn will bite you in the ass.

Especially when I had played it pre-release and before it's first patch (it was available to download for prior owners before it actually launched)
sometimes, the whole thing just drops in quality, frame rate becomes choppy, also the oh titles with dosbox staging SUCK! The resolution is off, the port is also slightly choppy so yeah.
I didn't really care much for the Unity port either tbh
I've basically always used either DOSBOX (for my first year of playing) or another source port
though, I do disagree with you when it comes to the DOSBOX Staging thing
the resolution is fine, just letterboxed
maybe a bit too much so when the CRT shader's on, though
it's weak, the only redeemable quality are some enemies and the ssg. but most enemies that were added are incredibly annoying, the ssg just makes a good portion of your arsenal useless and the level design is terrible. though, it's better for modding since it gives the mappers/modders more opportunities than doom 1
the SSG invalidating your arsenal really only applies to base-game Doom 2 imo

and the OG shotgun mainly for lower tier enemies where I don't want to waste 2 shells to kill them when I really only need one

you'll eventually run out of ammo if you only use the ssg
base-game Doom 2 has a good amount of shells, though
though, another point is that the SSG fires incredibly slow
so you'll actually waste health and armor in a good amount of situations if you use it too much
Ages ago I remember that I only used the ssg to clear levels and on map 10 I got āstuckā because I ran out of shells
so it's honestly more an issue with that than with shells
idk, the game is pretty generous
also i said it just makes a good portion of your arsenal useless

Part of that is the SMM is not the best designed enemy
It's either too easy to kill, or too annoying to fight

The size of the SMM makes it hard to use well as well
Anyhoo, which ever of the dooms is your personal favourite, Doom 2 is what lead to the longevity of the modding community.

Only 3 of the secret levels but that's it. I looked up awhile back that it might be a progression glitch for some achievements

how come in Plutonia you have one of the most boring levels with the worst track (Bunker) and right after you have such a fucking frenzy of a level (anrichrist)

i need help with a modded doom 1 wad, what do i select for the source port, i got the zdl 3.11 open and theres no source port to select.
Do you have any source ports installed? This is a .pk3 mod so you need GZDoom for it. Make sure you have it installed
Configure the path to it in the settings if so

Idk what you mean by doing it with the gzdoom files. Grab the pk3 and drag it on top of the gzdoom.exe file, then it should ask you which IWAD to load. I see from that screenshot you don't have any. Do you own DOOM? If not, use Freedoom's IWAD
I dont own doom, and im fucking lost as shit, i dont know what an iwad is or anything... i mean like, opening the pk3 with the gzdoom files.

Like I said, drag that onto the GZDoom.exe. But you can't load it without an IWAD, you'll need to either get it from DOOM or another id Tech 1 game, or install Freedoom

Cause like 99% of the time it would just go like you have gz doom in a folder have the main doom wads in the folder with it

Make sure all files would say .wad at the end
Launch whatever doom it is required to play and boom mod should go
And you canāt just type .wad you have to have show file extension checked and actually change the name of it that way

Idk if that exactly just gzdoom seems to instant recognize mod files if the extension of mod files are changed from pk3 to wad without having to do extra steps stuff
The WADs included in DOOM + DOOM II are very slightly different, very minimal stuff, almost 1:1 to the originals. Though it also comes with the original WADs

Actually you should ALWAYS use DOOM II, if you use DOOM I for a DOOM II mod there's a very high chance it won't function properly
DOOM II has exclusive enemies and the SSG, which are all very popular in mods. Make sure you always use the D2 IWAD

I googled how to turn a pk3 into a wad, and it said it requires a lot of manual editing.
I found one specific version that will work with ZDL and I don't want to touch it in caae it explodes

Maybe I'm a zoomer, but not a lot of 90s wads stick in my head as exceptional. Only ones that do are the Chord series (for the gameplay), Cyberdreams (for the unique premise) and Dystopia 3 (less than the others, also for the gameplay)
Oh, and Plutonia but that was a commercial product, so I dont really count it

Ok small issue. I can play the auger zenith maps if I drag its wad to gzdoom then hit doom 2, and I can play the Diamond Dragon gameplay mod if I drag its pk3 to gzdoom then hit doom 2. How do I play auger zenith maps on diamond dragon like Icarus did?
I don't like sigil 2. I am playing the steam version or doom 1+2 and sigil 2 is hard on E6M8 cause I always fall down into the unescapeable lava which I hate.

Is it just me or map 20 in master levels for doom 2 impossible. I can barely get past the area with hell knights when you finish off the mancubus is just impossible. I hate mephisto's mausoleum, the revenants make it impossible

I completed Master Levels once, because it's an "official" Doom game. Never again
A lot of the levels aren't so hard, just boring and unmemorable
Doctor sleep (I think his name was?)ās levels are pretty good though, only real stand out to me of those master levels
his were among the best, but still not amazing
IMO the hardest part is when you first enter the central building and have to deal with the revenants. If you can manage to do that (hint: falling into one of the pits and shooting the revenants from below actually makes it easier to dodge their rockets), the rest is easy IF you know what to do
The main thing is that though I like using rockets to deal with the mancubi, you need to keep an ample store of rockets throughout the level so you can pelt the icon of sin with them at the very end

Sigil 2 E6M8 is also hard cause I ran out of plasma gun bullets the cyberdemon but I used 50 rockets and it won't die, do you hate the 2 cyberdemon and the spider mastermind in sigil 2 too?

Hereās the best part: you donāt attack the cyberdemons and mastermind until the very end
You want them to infight for like 5 minutes until thereās only a weakened cyberdemon and a mastermind (or hopefully just the mastermind)
Just killed the spider after 400 chaingun bullets, 50 rockets and like 30 shotgun shells
I'm so cooked cause after that I have 21% health cause it is so hard
Infighting will help you massively in other map sets, too
So learn how to utilize it

Alright. Go into the terminal and go into the directory where you have Eternity and Heartland (if it's an executable file) or go into the directory where you have Heartland (if it's installed as a package or you have it in your bin)
I'm not sure what eternity would be called, though, so you'd have to figure that out for yourself
anyways, you'd type in something like eternity -file heartland.pke
substituting eternity for whatever it's actually called

Yeah it appears the eternity devs don't publish binaries for Linux, so you have the option of building from source or running with wine
If I'm being 100% honest I almost feel like wine is the preferable option

I just run the kex engine port like a newb 
I personally donāt like the KEX port for various reasons

Also, I do suggest switching over to DSDA-Doom or Nyan Doom as PrBoom+ is out of development and basically replaced with DSDA-Doom (I mentioned Nyan as itās a fork of DSDA-Doom, but with some extra stuff)
