true but you can expand that once you done with each demon you can spawn 2 different demons, basically the point is. Whatever you have struggle with. IF YOU ARE ON PC, spawn those demons like a thousand times till you are blue in the face of fighting them so you know exactly what you are doing wrong and what you need to do, and just try out every single weapon combos on them, and you quickly discover some nifty things. It's way more time efficient than replaying an entire map, which is what i did mostly. If there's 1 or 2 demons you struggle with constantly or a combination of them the moment they show up you in the ropes, just spawn those over and over again. Find out exactly what it takes to glorykill and what to kill normally and so on about them.

My approach to UN is more of a victory lap. I want to get so good at the game that I do UN because it’s pretty easy, just to show I can. I want to be like Superman juggling cars even though the strength required is far below his capacity.

I think Wyrdsie is right that figuring out the best way to kill demons is good. Even looking at the numbers in the sheet doesn't inherently explain how fast 2 lob or 2 arb kill a Pain, or even PB Ballista spam, vs. other methods. It's better to see how fast they die on your own. I spawning in demons isn't inherently necessary but it does help make the process extremely easy (rip console :c )

UN is not for casual players i don't think so either. It is not easy (in before someone claim it is anyways, but it really isn't, takes some practice) it's the final challenge aside from master levels. It means you have mastered the game is why you get gold rewards.

I think casual players that's ultraviolence, you can have lots of fun and the entire experience without getting your ass kicked over small mistakes

That arena spawns with a Caco and 3 impact. Then 3 soldiers and several imps. When you kill enough imps AND all 3 soldiers, 1 more soldier + an Arachnotron spawns along with a few more imps. The amount of impa needed to finish the encounter exceeds the amount that spawn, so UN runners don't rush to kill the Arachnotron, since they need to wait for imps to spawn after killing a few imps.

That's just 1 example for that arena. Other arenas are of course different in the spawns and number of enemies needed to clear said arena

Yup. I tend to save my weapon points for the lock on burst & ssg upgrades, which means I'm stuck with a stock shotgun & pb which is really tough.

well, kb would understandably be hard to get used to, but mouse is easy to point with. I'd imagine i'd have trouble getting used to aiming with controller even with aim assist. Except in certain games where it's like a smooth movement from side to side, like in apex or whatever, cause that's perfect for controller with aim assist in a way. in Doom it's so fast that i would get annoyed rather quickly. So it's impressive that people on controller manage to play so decent.

I've seen some guys that play other games with like pens for tablets, drawing tablets. That's hilarious too. At that point aim assist or not probably controller would be more comfortable.

Get better movement so you can chase the DK. Try to keep a mental note of how long he's been in berserk, and get ready to push when it's about to run out.

Also make sure you're always at full stack before he pushes the Berserk button, good DKs wait until your at half stack before pushing, bad ones push you at full stack but you can actually put damage them with SSG punch swaps (assuming it's only the DK left)

I think 2016 had better atmosphere and story/writing. It didn't take itself too seriously but if you wanted to look into the story it also wasn't over the top (like Eternals). Enemy designs were cool, and the AI generally felt better than Eternals AI (most notably imps latching onto walls in 2016)

The actual weapons, weapon swaps, and movement tech of Eternal (obvious stuff like meathook and dashing, and subtle stuff like dash boosts, wall dashes, ballista boosts, bunny hops, and meathook jumps) all add to an amazing combat flow, and the arenas generally are designed very well in Eternal to allow creative use of said movement options

The atmosphere is also generally still good on Eternal. Writing less so, it's a bit cheesy most of the time and it takes itself wayyyyy too seriously at others. But it's still enjoyable. And the art direction is pretty good since it's not just orange and grays like 2016

Here’s a tip I learned during gUNless: go to the second story, and sit in the elevator shaft on one of the sides. Cacos can’t bite you and neither can fodder. At least, for fodder it’s a 99.99% thing.

Depends if you’re doing UN for the achievement of it, or just for fun. If for the reward, it’ll slowly become more appealing for sanity’s sake. For fun, I mean anything goes

It’s always a good thing to know though, especially considering the game can be very “funny ha ha” and ignore your attempt to sticking to strats, ex: chainsaw arach and sticky the cacos. Instead, lol fodder then you’re getting smacked by all three heavies

I am unsure about that. As a litmus test, I think if I really cared about achievements I’d already have done extra life mode and can’t perfect perfection. I mean, right?

Stay on the upper levels, keep your back to a wall/corner so that you don't get flanked AND so you can see the whole arena, that way you can sticky the cacos before the get to you. If the cacos are far/not there yet, focus on imps in the mean time, but obviously prioritize the cacos since they're so easy to kill

Obviously leave room to escape/jump down to the lower levels if need be, don't like shore up in a corner with no way out, but as long as you can see everything around you you should be safe.

there's no damage falloff, the ssg hitscan just looks for targets within a finite distance (well beyond where the pellet spread would reasonably allow for anything to land on a regular sized target). icon happens to be a massive target so lots of pellets land consistently.

Shotgun pellets and SSG pellets DO get reduced damage over a set distance. So even if we assumed all SSG shots got from across a map (in of itself impossible), they will do reduced damage.

However 2 things: SSG damage fall off is not as steep as regular shotgun (also SSG pellets do more per shot anyways)

And icon of sin actually takes "reduced" damage from SSG (normally 1600 per shot, instead 800 per shot).

Considering shotgun normally does 320 per shot max, SSG still does more for 2 bullets, however it's not as much as it does to other enemies. I imagine SSG was probably too good with the normal damage values, so they reduced it

I guess icon of sin is sort of an auto scroller of a fight tbh. As long as you can do enough damage to him, you still need to watch his pieces break so theres not really a way to speed the fight up.

soo i have heavy cannon on LEFT DPAD, my melee is on B...meaning i do PB punch swaps i can't move or aim at the same time as both my thumbs move away from the sticks..sometimes i can get a good flick in between HC & Melee inputs but its just being fancy..i routed it for literally 3-4 targets in Hell on Earth and Exultia and thats all i do it for during the speedruns

Assume I go in with infinite ammo + BFG. I can blow up all his body parts immediately. But each part has it's animation for breaking play.

In a normal run you would BFG 1 or 2 parts, and in the time it takes for one part to break, you then use quick swaps to break the other parts, effectively stun locking him (he can't attack if hos body parts are broken*). But both strats are just as fast.

*Note that on current patch, they made it so he's scripted to do at least 3 attacks, each between a body part break, which results on the fight being 1 minute slower on current patch

So in this case the fight is an auto scroller cause once you break all the parts you just sit there waiting for him to die basically

Also, few more things:

1. use the arbalest shot for cacoodemons. It's significantly faster (kills after explosion if you land a shot) and safer than a sticky grenade (if you max it out you can take out multiple pretty quickly).
2. For a baron, an ice bomb, 3 lock-on bursts and a ssg will kill it.

SGN is tough but thankfully it's on the shorter side of level length.

I play DE on stadia. I happen to get it cheap and I just kept playing it there. You basically stream the game like the Xbox cloud system. The delay comes because you don't have the physical game so basically you have to send inputs through the network to their servers and so on.

I like Samur's fight cause it does allow for player creativity/expression, in that it doesn't "require you" to fight the boss/enemies a certain way. Plus Doom Eternal is at its best when fighting arenas/multiple enemies, rather than 1v1ing a single enemy. It's why Icons probably the best boss casually, because it's mostly "a hard arena with a big obstacle called Icon" rather than being just a 1v1 type thing. Plus TAG1 gets you ready for Samur by having multiple spirit buffed enemies, so you learn naturally through gameplay the best approaches to enemies like that.

Meanwhile Dark Lord has very little of that, it is basically a bigger Marauder but besides the fact that Marauders are just generally poorly designed and boring to fight (no hard, just boring), Dark Lord has so many esoteric features that make players frustrated (heals when you shoot him when he's not flashing green, or after the one update being immune completely when you try to hit him from behind with anything, limiting player creativity with the boss fight)

If you constantly use the boost pads in the arena, especially with ballista boost and/or meathook jumps, the fodder can never get to you, and the floor-is-lavs will never damage you either. So basically just boost pad, double lock on, maybe an SSG shot if she's clinging a bit, punch, and while her bar regens get a headshot on a drone.

Gladiator, while being an over glorified Marauder, still has (or had) some depth since you could do damage to him without Parry - glory kill. Though of course they nerfed both the damage done to him while he's stunned AND damage done by lock on after they saw people 1 cycling him XD

But generally I think Gladiator is one of the more interesting bosses

But yeah unironically if a Marauder is possessed it sort of becomes easier to deal with because Mobile Turret can Parry Marauders, but normal Marauders while they take damage normally will pull their shield up.

But possessed Marauders, because their animations are faster, have this thing where they actually recover from the "being stunned" animation faster than normal, so if you use Mobile Turret they'll repeatedly get stun locked and you can one cycle them easily just with Mobile Turret

If you haven't, you should try some modded content for Doom Eternal. The original Horde Mode, Horde Mode 2, and various user made master levels all are very challenging (but you still have the ability to tone the difficulty down)

I think Horde Mode 1 is a classic in terms of being a well crafted modded experience. Very thematic fights, difficult but not unfairly so. I think it's the perfect stepping stone for that kind of thing

Focus on restacking most of the time. You always want to be using your abilities off cooldown.

So flame belch when you can (if you can get multiple enemies you can obviously wait for that but if you think it's too much trouble flame belching one thing is never wrong). Chainsaw even if you're not completely empty on ammo. ESPECISLLY if you take a lot of damage, chainsaws iFrames will keep you from dying and you'll get some health (any kill gives hp at low health, I clouding chainsaw).

SSG with the mastery into a precision bolt shot on fodder gives 20 armor + high mobility, it's one of the best high level plays you can do.

From there, I'd say movement is another big thing. Meathook jumps (i.e. jump jump hook -> jump jump) to keep yourself I'm the air, using dash to stall yourself in the air so you can get ANOTHER meathook jump, bunny hopping, ballista boosting (both vertical and horizontal) all help immensely
