I meant LOB MSCs. You can lock on burst the Mara with his shield up and send the rockets to the side, and then hit him with the Bal/SSG/PB to falter him.

I’ve tried everything I can to prevent myself from firing the BFG in horde mode. Disabling the empty weapon switch and changing the weapon wheel. Yet I STILL somehow manage to end up firing it

Under Step 3, you can either drag and drop the .zip file into the box from an open folder or select + Select File to naviagate to the .zip file.

in other words the fight is hardly engaging

granted I've learned the SLOB 1 cycle since which could make things easier there but the fight is just as arduously set up anyway

at least for more than a second or two until you have to meathook or ballista boost away again

actually for a game of its time it actually would make the player think think because it was built with teh idea that 3d games were new so thats what it goes with

think about it the lock on already has issues with locking on to the right enemy

You have to think until you realize that you can just hold up your shield until they do the tell and then press B. Then you just mindlessly do that

Z-Target is a mechanic where I get what they were going for but still think it was a bad idea

I’d just like to point out that Super Mario 64 came out 2 years earlier with much better (though still kind of basic) combat so they could have made it work but I get the impression that it was very much not the focus

mainly for aiming whiile moving or being able to move around an enemy at all because remember the game doesnt really have any camera control except for snappping it behind your back

yeah but also remember that the cbuttons that mario uses for camera control are taken up by the item slots

so how do you control the camera for fast moving enemies when you cant track them manually

They could have done something like RE1 with fixed camera. It wouldn’t be perfect by any means but at least it would allow for interesting combat. I don’t think you can fix OoT’s existing combat so they should’ve done something completely different imo

I can’t really understand why anyone likes most of the 3D Zelda titles tbh. The combat is bland, they’re extremely linear, and only get secret hunting and sidequests right sometimes.

it would have been pretty difficult for 3d zeldas to be truely open like the first legend of zelda for quite a long time

until botw they can definately do it after that theyve proven that much

There’s a lot of series that I think jumped to full 3D prematurely, Zelda being one of them. I don’t even mean full open, just involving more player agency than riding a rollercoaster.
