part of the reason it holds so much value is that i was trying to speedrun it + dlc about a month before tda came out (i was successful, but i had to play dlc on easy mode)

but also it has the perfect balance of mechanics. tda has a bunch of forgettable and small mechanics (except for shield), but eternal has a good amount of really in depth and thought out mechanics with a handful of small ones

I read his post about it. And he makes a good point. Doom slayer is definitely way more hyped up than he actually is. But there are some flaws in his statement too. First of all, he says doom slayer in gameplay and lore are no different which is a huge lie. Sure he can't sprint at 5000mph but in-game, doom slayer can die to a zombie and takes 100 punches in eternal to kill said zombie. The thing about a Doom Slayer vs Goku fight is that it needs more variables. If it's just do whatever the hell you want then doom slayer will just keep fighting him until the end of time because if he dies he'll just get ressurected or fight his way through hell. I'm not saying he's the strongest character in all of fiction. Far from it. But let's not undersell him here. He's still ridicolously powerful

if you wanna perma-falter, microwave beam is better

viable at any range, doesn't steal dashes, and works against possessed enemies

also just another thing, if you're going in with the shield, most likely you'll be spamming blood punches, which is an AoE hard falter

and ssg+ballista takes 6 shells and 50 plasma ammo (your most precious ammo) or 6 shells and 75 plasma ammo at point blank range, while the mobile turret takes less than 70 heavy cannon ammo at any range

but, ssg+ballista is far from the best combo too

although it's hard to say what the "best" combo is, and even harder to say what a combo even is lol, but ssg+ballista still is far from the top

pb+ssg deals mroe dps in close range and is better for your ammo
