besides ideally you should always try to be concerned more about armor restack than life, since the former is much easier to gain

and dash resets if you're airborn I suppose, but that's more niche

now 2, its in a cramped place

UAC Atlantica remains exactly the same as release (except they changed the haste pickup with a berserk in the arena after the small room marauder fight)
For blood swamps they removed three tentacles hidden under the water on the possessed arachnotron encounter and also shield soldiers used to spawn after you killed the arachnotron
Two hidden tentacles were also removed in the spectre whiplash and cyberdemon encounter and three more tentacles were removed right after that fight where the possessed hell knight spawn + dread knight spawn
There's also a “bug” on current patch were if you dont bother destroying the buff totem on the final arena of the left path the possessed baron will be only “possessed” for a second and then he'll become normal again (that didnt happen on v4.1 at least)
About the right path they only changed the possessed baron for a hell knight
And the cube boss fight was kinda different because it had a different “hiding” behavior (a single ballista shot made it hide)
They reduce the resistance to some weapons, the projectiles were slightly faster and didnt have that very loud noise and it didnt drop loot after killing a cube
For the holt they only changed the slayer gate (two times) and they removed four hidden tentacles, a carcass and a hell knight on the possessed tyrant fight
And in the samur fight they added more pickups on the fourth phase

I might be wrong but they also downgraded some visuals like the lightning strikes on uac atlantica or the spirit fx when you are beaming it

Obviously, the answer would be it depends, but I've been saying I want to do it for 2 years now and haven't really been able to do it, mainly because I haven't been spending time on practicing.

I guess the real question would be, how long do I need to spend to be able to actually possibly beat Ultra Nightmare?

My strategy now is just, beat the game on Nightmare, repeat doing so, repeat arena's I die a lot in, until I'm proficient.
But that takes a lot of time, any quicker ways?

I've had people here when I ask tell me that practicing arena's you have trouble with repeatedly, and working on movement and combat skills definitely improves your chances.

there are some people who are elitists about it but if you like it better then just use it

but i do recommend you try it off and give it a good try to see which works better

I'm confused a bit, so the damage threshold once hit allows for me to be able to falter him, but I have to then after he's faltered, immediately start damaging him again, that way the next time I try to use that ballista to falter him, it actually works.

after you've done your feet ballista, you need to deal sufficient damage first to then do it again, doesn't matter when, only that the timeframe between the damage and ballista isn't too long

you only need to do 200 damage to cross the threshold, so you can even just splash him with stickies/rockets and then do a ballista shot near his feet, not at them

I would say for practice sake, ARC Complex is better, purely because time time needed to restart is next to zero, and it's just you and the marauder, no other demons to get in the way.

mod swap cancel from any fast firing weapon (heavy cannon, plasma rifle, chaingun) into the weapon you wanna apply bats to (rocket/ballista), then if you wanna swap between the rocket and ballista and maintain the bats you have to mod swap cancel each time you swap between them
the other way you can do it is by anytime you watch a sync animation (like a glory kill or chainsaw), you have a fast firing weapon out prior going into it and then buffer the input of the weapon you wanna apply the bats effect to

Okay... So... I've been trying this for a while.

And for some reason, the foot falter one cycle marauder technique seems to be inconsistent.

I think I'm doing something wrong.

For some reason after faltering him with the foot ballista, and firing the grenade, the marauder somehow is able to swoop across the map and go into the invulnerable phase again.

What am I doing wrong?

SGN and Mars Core are around The Holt-level difficulty
Taras Nabad and especially World Spear are significantly harder than everything else and are total ball busters
