Muscle memory is like half the speed run.

If you have a longer speedrun, 1 minute shaved off is easy, closer you are to the WR, the harder that becomes. This also kind of assumes that somebody working their way up the ladder would know all the Strats they’d use for their current best since the very beginning, new Strats will be learned, and discovered with enough improvement. Setting a new best seems to be the most relevant factor here because anything can be a “speedrun” despite how slow it is

What helped for me is to play the campaigns again until you understand where the enemies spawn and how you’d deal with the more challenging arenas (especially in Final Sin). Once you’re consistent with your strat, try playing UN. Expect to fail a lot but also understand how your mind works so that you don’t fumble or get nervous

not sure why it works, but FSE is just an effect you can apply to the rocket launcher and combat shotgun (technically the ballista, but that's frame perfect, and the ssg too, but you can't maintain it in any way)

sticky bombs can transfer FSE to the rocket launcher, and you can maintain it by punch cancelling

it can be applied in tonnss of ways

It’s not much harder than other MLs like Taras, it being built around the hammer mostly has to do with there being a lot of enemies, this level likes to alternate between tactical placements to challenge the player, and just throwing a lot of heavies at you that don’t really do much

i started a new tag2 run and so far im on track to do worse than my first rerun

i died 3 times in world spear as opposed to the 2 the first time

i wouldve died only once if i locked in on the second arena where the armored baron is introduced but i didnt so i died twice there

The thing is i suck at quick swapping

one lock on burst will put arachnotron and dread knight into glory kill state, 2 ballista shots and 1 pb will put hell knight into glory kill, one ballista shot will put prowler into glory kill, one sticky bomb to the mouth or one ballista and one rocket can put cacodemon into glory kill

i recommend going ballista, pb, then another ballista for the hell knight

The turbo pinkys suck on the first level i cant get the buff totem

gotta be precise though since hell knights are slim and agile

try to meathook onto one of them but before you reach it jump and you'll go crazy high then you can get the totem from there

A single tier 3 dblade will also stagger a hellknight, this a bit excessive, but the bar for execution is just hitting the hellknight at all

I mean if you’re counting the deaths overall that could be true, but if you completed the rest of the run with no deaths that probably means that that section of the run is much better than the previous, which is good, just get better at the sections that trouble you

You can stagger Revenants in one shot if all pellets connect and 2-shot Arachnotrons and Whiplashes at pointblank.

Cyberdemons take 12. 12 fucking shots. 8-9 if you punchswap with BP.

The damage cap on the ssg is good because it means you can be a good bit away and still get max damage

I wished they were more lethal. I expected them to fire the same rockets as you but they're instakilling.

Even the laser arm bweep bweep bweep bweep attack is easily avoidable.

If your fighting a tyrant use a freeze and then do a hammer then ssg it until it dies but make sure to use meathook
