There’s a series of classic Doom animations I found on YouTube that managed to make Doomguy carrying 5 different guns feel kind of reasonable by having them sling/unsling shotguns, giving the plasma gun a holster, etc but classic Doom also has slow enough weapon swapping that you could imagine Doomguy is doing something like that when switching weapons (classic Doom doesn’t change Doomguy’s sprite to match your weapon)

1: old Doom gameplay often involves way more demons than you can do with modern graphics, especially when talking about the wads that define classic Doom gameplay
2: some oldschool mechanics (like stunlocking enemies with the chaingun) look really weird and jank in an otherwise modern looking game

Sticky splash for most enemies is 350 but for marauders it seems to be 262.5, the lowest damage instance i was able to manage was 39.94 but it seems as if the damage fall off going that low is a very narrow threshold, im still going to assume stuff in a vacuum just to make the point less murky but even with that max damage instance with splash only it’d take 18 stickies, it isn’t too absurd to say a realistic yield would be somewhere around 200 damage give or take, making a more practical answer 23 stickies or so to stagger, so yeah lol it is really ineffective

a little elaboration on the part where I said the damage going that low was a narrow threshold, i mean like, I inched my way to the side with the weapon wheel to get it from 60ish to the aforementioned 39.94

after that It didn’t get any lower it just stopped dealing damage

Ammo management and saving chainsaw pips for heavy demons can make a huge difference. Arachnotrons for instance can be very troublesome early on, so being able to just take one off the board is massive. Also proper usage of grenades and blood punch, knowing how to falter these guys can make things much easier. I'm not much of a heat blast fan myself but it's huge for at least level 2

well titanfall and doom movement are not really that similar. one has you running between walls and maneuvering mid-air and the other one mostly has you jumping and movement in 4 directions with occasional grapple hook

If you're on the mod preview or using the Eternal Mod Injector you can simply type noclip into the console

Otherwise try reloading checkpoint and restarting the mission

I agree that they aren't that similar, and I personally prefer Eternal's movement quite a bit

But Eternal definitely has mid air maneuvering

Titanfall seems to be quite focused on generally just building up and mainting speed and not changing direction that much
In Eternal you got a bit of everything, meathook to stay in the air, pull yourself towards enemies or to fling yourself at high speeds, ballista boosting to instantly start going fast, bhopping to maintain/gain momentum, dashes to redirect, take you to a place or to move faster and double jumps

But the best thing you could do is sharing a gameplay clip and ask other people what you could improve on

With guides you can never know what you need to work on

I finally came to notice something about this game that had been bothering me for eons.

Almost every portal is a wall portal instead of a floor teleporter like every other Doom game.

I feel like exit portals/gates should be more of a Quake thing. Just a small peeve.
