You can throw a grenade to falter him and get a free blood punch, if you want to approach him on the ground and not airborne

dash in ssg falters and that naturally combos into bp, probably the most cost-effective option

you're never going to have trouble with a singular enemy except for pos superheavies

if you damage enemies fast enough they're death before they can come back from the damage falters

if you kill enemies faster, you can start focusing on the rest of the arena (the bigger threat)

the problem with a lot of arguments like this is they completely ignore external factors and only vouch for the weapons usefulness in a complete vacuum

Here's the problem: microwave beam only stuns the enemy in front of you, and it's never the enemy in front of you that's the problem, it's the enemies around you that's the problem

And if you can kill the enemy in front of you faster (by not stunning it), you can kill the enemies around you faster

i think i like this game i think

so i beat doom eternal on hurt me plenty (because i was too much of a wimp to play on ultra violence for my first playthrough) and here are my thoughts

negatives: i think the icon of sin is a bit too easy for a final boss especially considering i was going for 100%, leading to me having an ungodly amount of extra lives by the end

positives: literally everything else

the marauder just isn't really fun to fight BUT he is extremely goddamn cool so i was okay with how frequently he appeared in later levels

also am i tripping or did they just never formally introduce the tyrant in any level

like he just shows up once and you're given a 4x damage sphere and then he just shows up in several levels after that

in fact the first time i fought a tyrant was in a slayer gate WAAAYY before the level they're introduced in

last wave of the entire mode, and i get cornered with no extra lives left and just get battered into a corner. i was spamming the blood punch button because if it came out i would’ve killed all of the demons cornering me and could’ve just finished the round like normal but alas
