no unfortunately, it doesn’t have any faltering mechanics tied to it, unless you want to consider the universal mechanic of enemies faltering from enough damage, which if applied to the marauder, would pretty much extend his stun time any time you did decent damage, which does not happen, and even if it were a factor, that mechanic is a soft falter

In my eyes every singleplayer campaign has a playstyle that the devs tried to make everything for. If a campaign is linear the devs made it for a linear playstyle, but there is no "intended way" to play it. You can play it however you want. The devs may have made it so that its easiest to play the game in a certain way, but that in no way means that you have to play that way or that it's "intended" that you play that way.

Well to give an objective answer then, think of bethesda. Very big corporation right? Owns a lot of things, very large company. Now think of Zenimax, even bigger. Zenimax, being a very big corporation, naturally has a large legal department composing of lots and lots of lawyers to protect themselves. And they are huge. Battling in court with such a big corporate entity would be a long, tiring, and expensive endeavor that I doubt Mick wants to go through. Chances are, he wouldn't even win. Mick is just a man, and he doesn't exactly bring in money like a corporation like Zenimax does, so you can probably guess who can afford better lawyers, and you can guess who would be more hurt by the expenses of a legal battle.

for glory kills I can very much understand it as perhaps a fallback mechanic, because in rare occasions they can actually be initiated without an animation ( have only seen this on fodder, but I assume it’s possible on other types of enemies ), but the confusing part is the crucible doesn’t work that way, it is consistent for a crucible to be able to kill an enemy outside of animation, dealing 10000 flat instead of the millions done when an animation is initiated, which makes me think of how odd such a mechanic is because the animations are basically instakill regardless of enemy health, even if infinite

I first came into the doom community with doom 2016 and beat it a few times. Then I got doom eternal, feeling like I'm good at the game started on ultra violent, the only enemy that gave me migraines were the Marauders. After completing the main campaign I tried hoard mode. That was a bit of a step up. It took about 2 weeks to finish because I wasn't that good. After learning better techniques and just getting better. I'm now running nightmare, and I beat the first boss pretty easily and knew it's weak points no problem, the Marauder And I beat it in 5 seconds. I was so hyped for it and I killed him so fast I didn't even get the glory kill. I looked back on old game play clips and laughed at myself. I stayed on the ground a lot. And now I beat the third boss by being in the air for 90% of the battle. Hopefully I'll beat the game soon.

Also, I'm almost through the mission and I stood there for a good 10 seconds trying to lock onto a whiplash and the launcher refused. After the fight, it still refused to even lock on to a fodder demon for my experiment. (and no I wasn't using the wrong mod. I don't ever switch to remote.)

The main reason why the first arena is hard is bacause it's on that little train

I did kill everything once, except the 3 marauders, but then no respawning fodder made it impossible to kill the marauders

The rest of the level is pretty easy as it's mostly super heavy spam of like 2 types

Dblade can usually hit many, many demons as a lot just spawn clumped together

And then with careful bp usage you can kill all the cyber mancs and deal a decent bit of damage to some other demons

never actually seen this arena before but I want to assume for simplicity sake the enemies are separated by group, so 100 plasma for double shot archvile, icebomb used, for marauders 9 rockets, 75 plasma, 12 shells, blood punches would be used but replenished as this theoretical cycle relies on glory kill. 75 ammo left for double shot on barons, 18 bullets, 6 shells used to finish off, use another 6 shells and blood punches on cyber mancs, shells are out, use 4 rockets and 25 plasma ( ballista shot ) on tyrant, 13 pb shots then glory kill him, so then 84 bullets left, each prowler should only take 2 pb shots to stagger, and by this point you should be left with 24 bullets and all your blood punches, carcasses stagger when they get blood punched so this should end up well, for the remaining 4 pb shots you have serving as clean up

When you get good with the heavy cannon you can start doing it with the ballista, sticky bombs and rocket too!

To do it with sticky bombs and rocket launcher you do need to do a precision bolt first tho (or anything that activates FSE)

Ssg is also possible, but there are few usages for it

if you get cornered (how the fuck do you accomplish that in doom eternal of all games lol), you should die for that. you made enough mistakes in a row to put yourself in a situation that should kill you. but the reality is that you can expend two cooldown abilities that come back in like 15 seconds to get out of that situation with no further complications

what's even worse, the chaingun shield is on a 5 second cooldown and provides that exact utility too

if you don't understand this, you're not in a position to be calling things braindead
