Greetings fellow Slayers.

I've had a recent desire to complete UN as I've been looking for challenging stuff to do lately. I've just re-completed the campaign to get settled in again as I haven't touched the game in quite a bit.

What do you guys recommend to do in order to practice UN runs? I loosely counted the deaths in the campaign rerun I just did and it was around 10 deaths, half were because I got stuck in a corner and the other half was legitimate deaths against foes.
I have the patience for pursuing UN, there are a few things I'd need to get better on such as faster marauder kills as well as more efficient weapon swapping, usual strategy is just Ballista, SSG, Ballista, Rocket Launcher or PB. I rarely use anything else.

I was thinking maybe Horde mode could help somewhat with the combat loop but I'm not sure what else to do besides that.

First of all, getting stuck in a corner is a legitimate death. It just means you didn't have good enough movement and/or you weren't aware of your surroundings, so practice that

You don't really need fast marauder kills since you can just wait with killing him until the end of the fight. Super fast combos isn't needed either, but, any combo with pb is good

If you really want to do UN, I would recommend you plsying through the game on a seperate save file than your UN run. Then run through the mission ahead of the mission you are on your UN save file, if you die, reset. Do this until you manage to do it deathless, then you can do it on UN

I can go more in depth with particular parts of the combat, if you want that

That's actually a very good strategy that I haven't heard much. I'll keep that in mind for myself.

Combos are simple, pb+sticky bomb is good early game, pb+rocket is good for mid range, pb+ballista for long range or flying demons and pb+ssg for short range. You also want to use spread out your ammo over all ammo types well, so you minimize how much chainsawing is required

As for mods, here are the objectively better mods: precision bolt, lock-on burst, dblade (arbalest can also be good against flying enemies), chaingun shield and sticky bombs (sticky bombs aren't that useful outside early game)
You want to get the meathooks mastery as quick as possible, because it's simply super good
Dblade you can use when you know roughly where some demons will spawn in, or when you have a clear shot. But it's important not to charge it fully if it isn't safe. Lock-on burst you can just kinda spam against threatening enemies and chaingun shield you can use when you're low on health and need to get to a place or when you're coming out of a glory kill/chainsaw

You want to get air control as soon as possible so you can just kinda dodge everything. Make sure to use your meathook lots also, wheter it's to get to a place, from a place or simply into the air.
Also make sure to always keep moving! And stay out of corners and tight spaces if possible.

Oh and btw, the unmaykr sucks, and the plasma rifle can be good with heatblast for a very short amount of time, then it also becomes bad
