Anyone can beat NM is they just throw their head at the wall for long enough, theres checkpoints to make it available for anyone to do. If those same people did UN, they would have to throw their head at the wall for WAYYY longer, if they ever finished it at all.

My game totally janked out. When I loaded into immora at first the game would have huge freezes in the middle of the cutscene, audio would get confused. It would take a long time for it to respond to a pause input. I decided fuck this and closed out through the menus once I got it to respond. Opened the game back up and ig I also skipped the part where everyone shows up lmao

I couldn't tell for sure but I think there were less demons too?? Like I went on through the level and I swear they took a little longer to start showing up. After that it was normal though

Except a little ways into the stage, right after the giant tentacle following the two-up, the game started freaking out again in the same way. Huge freezes, long to respond even to pause. There was a checkpoint right there so I closed out and started validating files. Because this is fucked

...and then I fell asleep again 😔

This game is jank, I didn't have any problems doing all the main content but I feel like I've been having more and more stability issues the longer I've played

Move around more, make sure to not stay in one area and get ganged by multiple demons. Utilise your environment as much as possible, more specifically in cultist base. Use common and powerful quickswap combos. Like fir cultist base, pb rocket is the go to. Pb rocket, ssg ballista, ssg pb are all good combos.

And dont worry about tech, focus on basic fundamentals. The guide pinned might even help

which is kinda screwy in the first place, no clue how enemies that spawn from before the first wave don’t count towards the arena completion until the very end but it’s whatever

I think the procession was already taking place, and doomguy knew that if you stop it mid procession, like he did, the icon would still awake, so he had to get the crucible beforehand so he could kill the icon after it awoke. He could've also gotten the crucible as a contingency in case he failed to kill the makyrs in time, and would then have to go kill the icon. These are just my hypothesis though, im not very proficient in the lore like m0no or anything like that.

He shoulda like just killed the Maykrs who were carrying out the process to stop it (1 headshot does it anyway), dealt with the Khan and then took care of the icon
Transport it to some where in hell or on Mars or something, disable the armour, cut the dude up with the crucible or something

Except this time you haven't broken the demon seal in Urdak and you still have the heart, which you could possibly use to more easily subdue the icon before killing it and then releasing the heart

Urdak is seriously just where all the story falls apart. It's where they start throwing plot twists that make the overall narrative less interesting and when a lot of stuff just starts to not make sense

Youre first paragraph is essentially what he did tho, he let the procession go so he could get the crucible so that when the icon got to earth he could kill it. I feel like in your narrative there would've been no contingency to actually kill the icon. You might say that doomguy could get the crucible after it got awoken but I think that's not very smart because as Samuel says, "The icon of sin grows more powerful the longer it is on earth." So if the icon WAS brought to earth and then he went to get his crucible, the icon would already be too powerful by the time he got back.

bhopping is basically just jumping the frame after you hit the ground, more effective on higher framerates because you have more frames that you’re hitting the ground on, camera movement doesn’t effect it other than I guess looking downwards for more frames

the chaingun mods would have made a lot more sense if they were combined into one

like
lower your movement but buff your DPS, in turn you also get a nice little shield so you're not just a sitting duck

vs turn into a sitting duck with a mod that barely even buffs your dps and just get free godmode for a bit without any other restrictions

Its honestly a lot more fun than I think this community gives it credit for. Learning to play as and being a demon is very fun and different to the normal gameplay of the game. Learning how to play slayer well is also a lot of fun imo. I think a lot of the reason that battlemode isn't loved as much as it should be is just because it has a sharp learning curve and is sorta difficult to get into.

summons enemies, fires more deadly energy waves in unpredictable ways, uses a flame attack on the ground that pushes you back, sometimes uses a flame shield to protect itself, takes quite a bit of damage, teleports around the arenas and other enemies are buffed when it's alive

the Summoner teleports around more frequently but it's much weaker and it fires its energy waves right at you without predicting your movement
