Whereas the bfg is excellent at getting rid of crowds of targets, its not really effective against super heavies, thats where the Unmakyr seems to shine; against single targets

The unmaykr is a literal meme, under the mayo will be like: alright so what you’re gonna wanna do is combo the enemy to half health first, then dump 7 rounds of unmaykr into them

never got used to lock on rockets and my fingers are too fat for spamming pb, and I can use 30 shots with the Unmaykr to take off the pressure from like three supers whereas with my BFG aim I usually get rid of at best one super with the BFG. So I possibly agree that a skilled player would not use it

But also bfg kinda has a case like dblade where it’s ammo efficiency goes through the roof the more enemies you catch in it’s crossfire, the bfgs tendrils have a limited range and you’ll get a lot more use out of it by shooting it in certain angles to maximize the amount of time the tendrils hit the targets

Like sure you could use the unmaykr but you could also use the bfg, knock every superheavy down to half health, and get rid of every other threat in the arena, given enough travel time, the tendrils can deal 6000+ damage, enough to kill an archvile and the bfg shot never even directly touches it

Hit both Archie’s with one ice bomb, and dblade them both, that’ll deal exactly half their health pool, and you can finish them off with one volley of lock on each, or just lock on spam from the beginning of the initial set up is to complex, or if you’re adverse to lock on you can substitute the lock on after the dblade for just pb ssg or ssg ballista

Finished the balanced version of Unreclaimed Earth Master Level for the first time, honestly it wasn't too bad.
From some reddit/youtube comment thread, I thought it would've been much harder, but I think it ended up being easier and shorter than the Mild CBT Atlantica ML from the same author, with 60 and 100 minutes respectively to complete for the first time.

But then again I'm just doing the balanced/mild versions of the mod, and Unreclaimed Earth was also made before CBT Atlantica so there's definitely some design learning discrepancy between them.

Yea balanced unreclaimed earth from what I’ve heard is just your standard hard master level, the unbalanced version is pretty hard but with enough hammer, everything except the gimmicky parts are fine

Spectre Whiplashes = Ice Bomb then fully charge a Destroyer Blade shot and done
Marauder = Pretty much a normal Marauder encounter tbh, there's the fog sure but you basically only really need to see them on melee range, and even then their shield is still pretty visible through the fog

Konvaz's The Blood Swamps Master Level mod had an encounter with double Spectre Marauders in the foggy area (I think the encounter on the original level was a Possessed Arachnotron?), and it's pretty much the perfected version of that room I think

For me it's photo mode. Try to get a new perspective, play around with the camera settings.
For me it's also the fact that I'm not good at the game, and I try to improve, or gather all achievements... except for those which are locked behind battlemode, I don't play multi player. Unlocking all possible skins is fun too.
I can understand when someone beats Ultra Nightmare instantly, and puts the game away afterwards.

You can also search for Daisy, there's one bunny hidden in every level of Doom Eternal.

You can also step away from vanilla DE, and install mods, there are so many out there already

You don't need to keep them all, I got rid of No Man's Sky when I got Starfield, by now I've deleted Starfield too. There's no shame in doing so, when you know you don't/can't finish them, delete them. Steam is able to save your progress, you can always download everything again when you want to return

Sure I enjoy watching that stuff, but I prefer to play. I just got done with Sigil 2,not as hard as the streamers make it out to be, and I ain't even all that hot. Right now I'm playing Quake 2 and Terminator Resistance. I feel that I can always mix it up if I get bored. Eternal's obviously only one game, but you can always switch over to Classic Doom where there's a huge modding community whenever you need to freshen things up a bit.

Yeah, just keep mining shields by spamming the flame belch. Every time it refreshes, point it as a cluster of enemies, spray them, then disengage.

Keep using the chainsaw on the fodder, but also prioritise on glory kills to harvest health.

The Maykrs are 100% machine in their natural state. Davoth built them. The presence of flesh and blood in their bodies is unnatural and the result of the Transfiguration process being corrupted.

Maykr Drones are just that, drones, they have no personality and whatnot, being totally subservient to the Khan Maykr, who is no longer here, so it should be simple for Davoth to take some if not all of them over.

They also have a redded texture, similar to the Blood Maykrs.
They only appear in the Khan boss fight, but it is assumed that id software accidentally used that texture instead of the other "dirtied white" texture.

Drones have 3 textures, the pure white texture with yellow head shown in Urdak cutscenes,the dirtied white texture with orange head on level encounters, and red texture for the Khan boss fight.

The texture versions would make more sense for the khan boss to use the dirtied white texture as they are in the beginning process of their transfiguration, and for enemy encounters post-Urdak to use the red texture since they are now in further stages of their demonification.

The blood maykrs being red also supports this

I tried to play with air control, and I just can't do all the amazing things people do, so I use the runes in the first row. Launch into a glory kill from further away, do glory kills faster, and gain a speed boost after you've done a glory kill.
It just feels more fitting to me

That moment when someone teaches me the precision bolt rocket combo to deal with mancubi, but i'm too shit at the game to be able to do it well, so i end up doing something a lot more complicated

This is what i ended up coming up with:
Meathook blood punch, followed by SSG, then a rocket, then precison bolt, then it got staggered and i glory killed it

All because i'm so bad at the game that i can't do a basic combo like pbr. I do ssg ballista often tho, but even then i usually throw a grenade or ice bomb in there too, and if i have the meathook mastery i use that to get some armor

Does anyone here have any similar experiences with this game?
