Definitely don't need to know the specifics on what an enemy's health is vs. damage done via weapons. Maybe knowledge of which weapons are generally better, though even you can get by with using subpar weapons as long as your general movement/game knowledge/sense is good. 🤷

As far as spawn memorization that's definitely superfluous. Knowing which enemies are in which arenas helps (also unnecessary but easier to remember), but specific trigger demons is more useful for speedrunning than it is for general completion.

Archvils are probably the only important specific spawn locations to memorize. Tyrants/Marauders, just know "at some point there's a Marauder/Tyrant in this arena" so you're ready for it.

As long as you're not caught with your pants down in an encounter, you should be able to handle pretty much anything the game has.

tyrants can be shut down easily anyway if you know what you’re doing, it’s harder with other supers since archies teleport, barons charge towards you, doom hunters have two phases and marauders are… marauders

Is the imp in Arc Complex in the outside arena with the purple goo cause it's used for a specific skip by hooking off it but the building geometry is fucked, so sometimes the hook immediately breaks even though it did initialize the hook.

Either that one.. or...... Hmm.. that's probably the most annoying, yeah.

Only other enemy I personally find annoying is the glitched Marauder that gets spawned by an Archie in Urdak, because there's no place you can get the Marauder to get dropped off a ledge, and if you COULD get it to drop off a ledge theoretically the player could wrong warp and it'd be really fucking cool.

Any tips on holt slayer gate in ancient gods part 1? I can get to what im assuming is the last phase with the posessed marauder but I keep getting caught on weird autogenerated collision and then dying after being cornered because I am stuck and cannot move.

he'll get stun locked and you can empty your entire round on him before he gets the chance to ever raise his shield
then just use ballista once to stagger him and glory kill

For the very beginning with the tyrant an imps I’d hit them with an immediate ice bomb and flame belch to gain resources, kill the tyrant as quick as possible, then move unto the mancubi, after that two pain elementals should spawn separately, second one coming after first ones killed, I’d advise killing the first one normally and chainsawing the second one, then go in for the cyber manc kill, of course this entrance section is entirely skippable with a Yeethook, now to get a bit more general with things, you enter the first major arena with three arachnotrons and two barons, once two spiders are killed the dual barons spawn with screechers, once a baron is killed, cacodemons spawn, after killing the cacodemons spectres will spawn, and after killing a few spectres a cyber manc will spawn, be careful to avoid using any major splash damage Intensive weapons, lock on is fine since the splash damage is so minimal, the next arena should be with the green dog, immediately go out of the fog and destroy the buff totem, after that kill a few enemies and once the fog dissipates fire a fully charged dblade, this will kill 2 or more revenants triggering the archvile to spawn, once he spawns you will want to use your hammer or an ice bomb, after that you’ll have a few heavies to dispatch of and they’ll be cake, after this the gate will open up and

@small shale Anyways here’s some broader tips, you can skip the first major arena with the cyber mancubus and blood maykrs by meathooking unto an enemy and while facing backwards grab the monkey bar, ( works in the base game world spear not sure about master level, so take that with a grain of salt ) and some other advice like shooting your BFG straight upwards isn’t optimal and rather shoot it across a clear horizontal plain the get the most bang for your buck, usage of it in the possessed cyber manc arena is optimal, so the further back towards the gate you can go the better, in the encounter with the possessed baron I’d advise not using the bfg and instead using it on the section that comes before it with the purple goo, easily dispatching of all the pesky riot soldiers, do this and pick up the secret bfg, entering the hammer room with full bfg ammo, there’s no optimal usage of the bfg in that room to my knowledge so I’d advise against it unless you’re in danger, but I’d focus on camping the spawn with the archvile and cursed prowler with an ice bomb at your disposal, after finishing that arena you’ll have to deal with possessed pinkies, just remember the place it LITTERED with blood punch pick ups, so take advantage of it, in the snowy arena I don’t have any specific advice except memorizing the cursed prowler spawn areas, also after that you’ll have a mini arena with a baron, tyrant, screechers, and cursed prowler, prioritize the hell out of the cursed prowler because if you blood punch him to get rid of the curse you’ll set off the screecher and it’ll become a whole mess where you die and stuff, in the escalation encounter arena i’d highly advise using a bfg once the buff totem spawns, other than that the rest of the level is really tame, until the end, just general advice could suffice for the end, but REALLY prepare yourself for the arena with the possessed baron and armored baron around the spear
