I like how accessible this game is honestly. You'd think with how badass and over the top everything is, the difficulty would be like "fuck you, learn me or get lost" but the game gives you a surprising amount of options for getting past challenges and tough spots, and it's very clear in telling you what to expect in each difficulty.

If you want to cheese it (wouldn't usually recommend), you can use the microwave beam for a second, blast them with a weapon like the SSG or RL and repeat. They usually can't get out of the stun if you do it right

The best part about BATS is how it can cancel any wind down animation, that coupled with the faster bring up animation it’s basically like overdrive if used correctly

That’s why I LOB’d instead of SLOB’d because slobs are impossible to do when using BATS

Not even from a “oh it’s impossible because of difficulty” standpoint. it’s just because it’s two conflicting techs that don’t combine

Infact I’ll give an example on what I mean by that

If I were to attempt that same combo “BATShit insane” without BATS it would be slow and inefficient

Playing demon is actually really fun once you get the feeling of it.

Slayer can be tricky if you are used to use shield mod and air control. It can mess you up at first. Demons take time to learn as each is different basically having different play styles and combinations depending on your partner.

Doom Eternal (and every Doom tbh) pushes you to choose the weapon for the situation instead of using the same thing every time

Right, but if one weapon must be selected it is SSG. besides that, PB ballista and rocket L are the most used ones. In eternal, besides from spirits, plasma riffle is useless. Chaingun is also useless if isn't for the invincibility aspect of it.

I haven't experienced eternal nearly as much as the other games so I am a little out of my element when it comes to the chaingun

Plasma rifle is situational. Poor DPS but it lets you detonate shields and Microwave beam is great for stunning any enemy briefly to set up a rocket or ballista

I found several posts with this and similar issues. Primarily it seems like disabling integrated or secondary graphics cards was the solution. If no secondary graphics are present, one commenter mentioned disabling the main (only) graphics card, launch Eternal, close Eternal, re-enable, then launch again.

First of i went to nvidea control panel and selected the rtx 3050 as default, and for the program. On Windows 11 you do the same in "windows settings" - graphic settings. Then i went to amd.com (wich is the cpu for my laptop, ryzen 5 5600h) and downloaded the latest driver. Rebooted the computer then launched the game with zero hiccups.

But you can still set up a lock on by meathooking to gain height and firing in the other direction, he will pull up his shield to protect himself from it, so shoot the exposed part of him with a ballista, and then you can finish him off with a short combo

Ah! Well most heavies will be instantly killed by the BFG tendrils or at the very least left at really low health. Super heavies however aren't insta killed by the tendrils they'll just be at low health

sure, the arena layouts themselves will never change so you'll always have that as an anchor, but being able to improvise an answer anywhere is #1

strategy is taking information gathered through what was originally improvisation (monkey typewriter, which isn't even true, etc) and turning into it into something repeatable that can then be improved upon

and then between those two is something i like to call tactical patterns, short bursts of strategy which you can use even in randomizer gameplay

recognizing who/what's creating the biggest threats currently

and then a step above that is how enemy combinations act
