One detail I do like was that Samur actually takes a very large amount of damage if you can manage to blood punch him, similar to how the Khan Maykr could only be damaged by a blood punch

even accounting for the revolver, pyros have a significant advantage over spy in just about every possible way, probably too much so

flares, dragons fury, pyro has much better long range harrassment

the revolver is better at dealing straight damage at range, but flares and whatnot are plenty to make a spy shooting you at range, ineffective

when talking about balance you should assume both players are able to consistently hit most shots

provided the weapons dont have significant differences in the skill it takes to aim, flares and the revolver have a slight difference, but not enough for that kind of balance discussion

the spysicle is definitely a step in the right direction, changing how pyro and spy interact isnt really possible without changing very basic fundamentals of the game, giving the spy options to defend against pyros is good

people like to complain about it but I will keep arguing that the dead ringer, in its current form, is balanced well

the resistances have been toned down to fairer levels, and spotting a feigned death simply requires being situationally aware, which you already should be when dealing with spies

Classic mode WS in nightmare was brutal. I think when it was released it was bugged that you couldn't get some mods (Ballista mods)

Try 2 rockets, disarming one of their cannons *with a precision bolt or sticky bomb, tossing a grenade, and using a blood punch. Just did this in NM really quick and that will kill a newly spawned Mancubus.

Usually I do 3 and disarming one arm to put it in glory kill

Here’s my long ass take anyway cause im just learning inconsistencies and all from both games as theres rlly no way to balance sense Halo tries to be more grounded while the doom franchise takes a more “extreme-fiction” approach

The mjolnir mark 6 Gen 3 is chief’s newest armor owns plasma shields that can block plasma but are limited and in need of recharge. It can withstand the plasma but not very much. Not to mention doom guy’s plasma rifle alone fires even faster than an Elite’s plasma repeater, if anything fires the same rate as a plasma turret which more so using halo infinite’s and 5’s, it shreds. Especially other types of plasma such as Brute plasma will break away their shields much faster. Not to mention Spike weapons act just as similar/effective as plasma just for being Hot tungsten. The Mangler can 2 shot a spartan’s shields in gameplay just as fast as a plasma pulse carbine or brute ravager would

if we were to use lore then argen energy is prob way leagues above the plasma the covenant use. Promethean weapons in lore can also be inconsistent sense they were designed to vaporize biomass, yk the flood

Not to mention straight from official sources. Weapons like the plasma carbine are very effective than normal Sangheli arsenal cause they contain radioactive energy. its hotter. if Argen energy is above the density of Nuclear energy. Chief’s armor wouldnt withstand weapons like the Ballista

promethean weapons are dangerous then ye if both guys own weapons that can destroy eachother, how is one arsenal better than the other.

Which means both are gonna come down to who is just more powerful inside rather than relying on their arsenal of weapons

also if u expected a sword fight between chief with an energy sword vs Doom slayer and a crucible. The energy sword would snap like a cracker. The Gravity Hammer hell could even parry it just because of its density being way higher

Both basically have similar strengths and speed (could be debatable sense marauder in gameplay is fast as hell while a spartan thrust isnt as fast). The only difference is doom guy never seems to be tired fighting demons for who knows how long in hell. and when it comes to these fights, if ur both equal in defense and offense, its more of a matter on who would get tired first. while chief gets dogged on by atriox i dont think atriox could beat doom guy considering he’s faced demons twice atriox’s size.

Honestly, Doom is one of the only games where I rarely ever actually get really good and angry. Like I can get absolutely livid when I play stuff like Fortnite, Overwatch, Monster Hunter, but ironically Doom just doesn't do it to me and I don't know why

Tbh I think Overwatch also irritates me partially because of the sometimes awful balancing and the feeling of "what the hell was I supposed to do about that". Like I main Junker Queen and Ana, and when playing Ana, it irritates me a lot to constantly be dying because I didn't see the Genji until he was on top of me and already killed me, or getting caught by one Roadhog hook when I didn't see the Roadhog and dying off of something I had no way to know was coming

If you have all the upgrades to exploration on the praetor suit then you can check the map wherever you are for secrets that way it’s easier to find all the cheat codes
