Honestly the person that designed the phase 5 of tag 1's samur fight should shit diarrhea through his mouth for a week straight.

2 possessed, super fucking fast, 2 shot machines, and that wasn't enough, make them be able to respawn every 5 seconds and add a fucking blood maykr which just fucks you over by deciding to NOT ACTIVATE when you need it to, and just slows you to a cripple when you're trying to get rid of a fucking spirit. WHY DO IS THIS SHITTY PHASE THE MOST RANDOM UNRELIABLE SHIT???
I'm just pissed that's how my UN run ends.

Using all 60 ammo will either kill it or put it like a ssg or rocket away from glory kill.

I just use the lock-on burst, I can get the PE to stagger pretty quickly

Like, double marauders? easy, possessed marauders? doable cause you can actually stagger them, any other fight in the game? piece of cake (apart from final sin, that's a crappy designed boss too imo but it's acceptable) as for possessed PE and dread knight...legit no counters

Unmakyr is your best bet. You can kill the pain elemental right before (or immediately when) the blood makyr shows up if you focus on it first. It's safest because you can make most of your shots and you kill the lost souls as they are thrown towards you.

• first 3 points are moot due to how busted slayer's kit is at every point in the game (adding single dashing & SLOB to whatever you're doing should genuinely be enough)

• the arena has big-ass pillars all over it, so think about using them to block the maykr's vision. also consider changing your vertical positioning constantly to stay out of the dread's range more effectively

• staying up above is better overall since that almost negates the dread's & maykr's influence on the fight

that entire phase is about using the pillars to single out the enemies

And sure, you need to use the portal (or the hook) to get on top of the pillars, and sometimes there would be the PE just camping you out at the portal. The blood maykr sometimes just refuses to activate and you're just sitting there waiting to single him out while the 2 possessed run around you.

Regardless, fuck that fight.

Point is, even when you do it right the fight just isn't that fun. Phase 1 is...okay, goodish, phase 2 with the manc and hell knight is good since the manc is slow and the hell knight is fast, that way you can focus on one enemy at a time. Would have no issue seeing the blood maykr here instead of phase 5. The arena has the pillars which help you single each enemy out, but not to the point of being a claustrophobic mess that phase 5 is. Phase 3...just filler, I like it cause it lets you fill up your shield to prepare you for the bullshit that's about to come. Phase 4 is fun, I like it, you focus on the boss and the blood maykr and avoid the damage from the eyes.
All's cool, but phase 5 is just, nah. I hate it.

even if you're on the pillars, you have to look UP to see or damage the PE because the mf would always dash above you, the DK could jump on your pillar and to top it all off sometimes you wouldn't notice where exactly the damned blood maykr is, and he'd just randomly slow you down enough for you to die.

Also it's a subjective opinion about the fight sucking, because the way it goes is almost random, sometimes I'd easily finish the fight with almost full hp/armor, other times I barely make it out alive, and sometimes I die.
I think the same thing sucks about the icon of sin, it's random and, just essentially a bullet sponge

Ngl i didnt find the samur fight too difficult, the blood maykrs were pretty annoying but you need to make sure as soon as you hear the screech of them spawning, take care of them ASAP

as well as dealing a shit ton of damage to samur to get rid of those blood maykrs by moving into the next phase. The possessed monsters in the final phase are a pain in the ass, as well as the bullet sponge that is that damn pain elemental, two bfg shots directly wasnt enough to take its ass out

There’s plenty of good reasons, but tbh it’s just a difference between old head and new school terminology. It makes more sense to call them tyrants in the newer games, but to older crowd they’ll call it cyberdemon because that’s what they’re used to.

Because it’s the creators design change choice, not the fans. They can choose to cater to fans, but they can also go with designs they like better. Og hell knights were green barons, if they brought that back it would just be lazy recycling. The name cyberdemon could be considered lazy as well, and eternal seemed to be them wanting to make things as catering to the fans as they could, with some catering to their own choices aswell.

I purchased eternal 2 days ago, the game freezes every 10min and now it freezes as soon as the menu appears when i load the game. I dont know what to do, do any of you have the same problem and do you have a solution to this? I'm not able to even play the game now, i just uninstalled and installed it again, it didn't help.

If the game freezes after you play, it's definitely a VRAM problem.

Another thing might be that there's an existent factory overclock/undervolt on your CPU/GPU, especially if your PC was pre made. Vulkan doesn't like either of those, so try checking anyway.
