Hitscanning implies line of sight is the only determining factor. There are variants that add delay or partial line of sight or RNG roll for hit / no hit, but they are really just trying to ape projectile behavior there

My biggest rule is to prioritize demons who are off by themselves and to favor parts of the arena that have less activity

Whatever you do, don’t charge into the thick of them, that’s the best way to be overrun.

It's not really. It's good for "speeding up" gameplay but it has no benefit for survivability. It's generally harmful, actually, as you have less i-frames, and contrary to popular belief demons tend not to surround you mid glory kill (their pathing pretty much stops more or less).

Even for Restricted speedruns it's only marginally useful because the Doom Hunters in DHB require glory kills to end the level, so the time it takes to get the rune is outweighed by the 3 glory kills

Though, you can just spam SSG + PB to his armor/flesh, chainsaw after you ran out of SSG ammo.

There's many crucible charges so use them wisely, recommended to use on Heavies/Super heavies.

There's 3 BFG ammo each 2 Arena, if you want to take it and shoot it to Icon of Sin, sure, aim at the head/torso. Aiming at the arms have a big chance of missing.

Before, I wasn't able to play the game due to the "no physical devices" error, which is apparently caused by my laptop having two GPUs, but after I discovered that command line, I was able to play the game. That command line forces DOOM Eternal to use a specific GPU, eliminating the error.

Earlier today I got Eternal reinstalled and unfortunately, the error came back. This time I can't even solve it with that command line.

it's tough and it takes time, but it's entirely possible to get comfortable with new binds. you'll be surprised to notice how quickly you can adapt if you play with a new bindset for a week or so.

Meathook jumps are not affected by FPS.

Typically what youll want to do is do 2 double jumps, hook - hold backwards - jump in quick succession, then jump again.

Holding back while hooking and jumping seems to give more height, though really most people do that so they don't continue past the enemy.

Once you're in the air, you can stall your falling by dashing when you start to fall. So meathook jump, wait a bit, dash, jump, wait a bit, dash.

By that point your meathook should come back so you can stay stalled on the air for awhile.

IN ADDITION you can combine ballista boosts with any/all 6 different jumps to maintain your height even further/easier. What I normally do is Ballista boost after the meathook jump specifically

The only thing fps affects with Meathook is the speed at which it moves you, i.e. pulls you toward an enemy or, more notably, how fast you move sideways around an enemy.

You CAN "infinitely" stay up with ballista boost jumps + meathook, but it's harder to do and obviously uses ballista ammo so it's also not actually infinite. Not as useful as just using dash to do the same thing

I'd wait for the Blood Swamps rune, and just pick up Breakpoint Blast. Desperate punch is... useful? But you need to know when/how to use it to make it actually useful on purpose.

The "low damage blood punch" rarely matters when being reactive.

Breakpoint Blast barely matters but it probably will come up more than Desperate Punch.

To be honest neither particularly affect your survivability in the end
