Like don't get me wrong I think a lot of the updates since we're things that kinda needed to happen like the caves update or the nether overhaul but I think they were done poorly and tons of other changes are just horrible. They ruined the game's artstyle with 1.14, they've been doing MMO-level power creep for years, the game is an unbalanced mess, and the design philosophy for everything now is "make the entire world revolve around the player"

It's not a fantasy survival game anymore, it's a goddamn MMO

And it's no coincidence they make totems and enchantments easier to get, make an armor and tool set stronger than diamonds, and then add a walking wall with 300 hearts that can one-tap a player through all of that.
