Honestly? If the average consumer can differentiate between the forty dark souls clones that come out each year, I personally don't think two unique takes on a modern scifi fantasy FPS would be that big of a deal

A lot of people I knew up until QC 2018 still felt this way. Average people are dumb as hell and it's difficult to balance innovation with iconography. I understand what you mean, but I still think it would take a lot of effort. Maybe I'm just pessimistic. Over the years, I've noticed people are quick to judge with fps games for some reason. It's like a sore spot for them or something.

Many of my favorite creators wrote TDA off because the "soundtrack was bad" or "they removed glory kills/weapon combos," yet I distinctly remember when Eternal came out and a lot of the same people botching about TDA moaned about Eternal for the very same things they're lamenting are gone. It makes me feel crazy for having liked it so much.

I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing if regular people see a Quake reboot and think "huh, that's kinda similar to id Software's other Doom games, which I know and love"

My favorite is strength, dex, tech, 20 in each. I almost always go for LMG's, shotguns (the tech shotgun Satara specifically) and a katana. Second favorite is the same but with cool instead of strength so I can use tech precision rifles and a revolver.
