There are a lot of demons that die by just looking at them in eternal as well
Also in eternal you have energy shield and lock-on burst which are absolute haram
lock on has weird ai tbh sometimes it targets the enemy behind the super heavies

Your first mistake there was attempting to use lock-on on a super heavy, they are resistant to it, unless it is an archie, you should go for other weapons against them
lock on spam easily takes care of barons n tyrants

Yeah, dumping all of your rockets on a tyrant or baron specifically is a waste, I'd recommend going for just one normal rocket, then throw a grenade and do full auto or SSG+Ballista combo, much more effective
kinda pointless to use lobs on tyrants as they aren't particularly threatening
and the soldiers do like 70 damage r sum
ammo in that game is super easy to get whyre u concerned abt rocket ammo
but if you mod swap cancel out of a lock-on burst, you can turn up to 2 rockets into normal rockets, making them deal normal damage
tbh true i mainly used lob in mars core n taras nabad for tyrants
because one single lock-on burst takes 3 rocket ammo, which is half of what you gain per chainsawš and optimizing ammo spending is also good to do
i'd say the barons are a bit more reasonable but for the tyrants just use pb rocket
they don't even move that much anyway

Any enemy that is not a tyrant or baron is vulnerable to lock-on 
doom hunter's taking 0 damage from it in their first phase:
you still need to aim for pb+ballista, and pb+ballista isn't a particularly good combo
Maybe include marauder on that list, but sometimes when you lock onto a marauder and then aim to the ceiling, the rockets hit him on his back and he gets stunned loooool
you can do that consistently if you mod swap cancel out of the lock-on into something and shoot him
since he'll be aiming for the rockets, then he gets faltered and hit by all the rockets
you don't need to mod swap cancel in all situations, but it makes it way easier

I cant see the lock-on mod swap thing on any of those 
mod swap cancel, it's when you press mod swap and then immediately the bind of another weapon
it allows you to cancel the bring-down animation of certain things
useful for going out of the lock-on burst and ballista
and there isn't actually any true mod swapping, hence the name mod swap cancel
and the hardest rooms are just... idek how to describe lmao

Only time I ever swap mods is to swap lock-on and full auto for remote det and sticky bombs to fight dual marauders in the master levels

You can have more heavies but I guess they underestimated our capabilities after like 3 months so I'd expect more usage of them at once, alongside more heavies in general

I can't get Ripatorium skin, is there a known bug about it? I've beaten all 3 levels with multiple different amounts of demons and difficulty settings many times. Saw someone say in here "it's easiest skin to acquire, just do 1 demon per map and that's it", I tried that as well, still no purply doom guy š

also that first arena on belly of the beast is cheese, 2 buffers heavily guarded by possessed demons, then after you kill the buffers there is a Baron, Caco and Leader Acolyte all at the same time
and once you kill the baron, 2 battle knights that respawn indefinitely until you kill the acolyte
that shit is rough
gotta play it super lame on that one and run like crazy

i forget to parry the attack of a whiplash, i get fireballed from a mancubus i go around trying to find health pickups, as i pick them up the cosmic baron spawns in, breaks my shield and kills me with the next projectile
oh yeah, there are whiplashes too
what scares me the most is at the beginning, trying to kill the buffer mancubus with the possessed revenant around
I just step back and dump all of my impaler and cycler ammo to kill the revenant, then I go in for the manky 
whiplashes are a nightmare to kill but at least they die really quickly
and you can lock em in with a shield throw

No, when I started the level itself for the first time, meaning from the menu, I load in with no cutscene and I'm on the ground in an Atlan based level and can't progress

It's worse when you realize I spent all that time in my run getting most, if not all, the secrets in each level for the very first time without using a guide
It took me about 25-30 hours to get there because I took my sweet ol' time

I get it, I did my UN playthrough with all of the sliders on standard nightmare settings (except parry, I turned that down lol). I died like 3 times before finishing it. A legitimate death I can take but if something like a soft lock happened to me that far in I'd lose my mind

Personally I wouldnāt blame you for lowering the sliders until you reach that point in game again to continue your UN run. I think most here would agree thatās valid.
I crashed on that same level for my UN run, during Enhanced Azhrakās last phase, and it restarted my progress all the way to the beginning of the level. I lowered the sliders all the way until I got back to that boss fight, I feel no shame

Hi All, anybody experiencing a bug where they're playing a campaign level on TDA, but when you die, it goes through the Ripatorium load screens i.e. it tells you purification failed, enemies killed, time settings, encounter settings etc. Even if you pause it's like you can change the music during the campaign?
Or is this purposely built in for completed campaign saves?

I've got like one more chance before the game kicks me out in the ass and to be completely honest sometimes I don't even know what I'm doing wrong
also what in the hell is the melee for, advanced tech speaking
people talk about melee combos but meleeing usually gets me closer to death than to killing my enemy because they are just going to load up their attack and it just so happens that the second hit's animation is too long, making it so I WILL get hit even if I'm gonna hold RMB to use shield as quickly as I can
depends on the melee weapon honestly
flails and gauntlets are really useful for setting up falter chains, which makes super heavy demons a joke
and the kick from the gauntlets does crazy damage, i think does more damage than a point blank ssg
flail is really good for survivability since it stuns in a wide range and gives you tons of armor

how do falter chains work
is this like a, I hit them after a parry twice, they attack and I parry their attacks and then continue hitting
every 3rd hit is a guaranteed falter
and stalkers get faltered on every melee attack
i usually set up the melees after i parry so i have enough time to get that third hit in
or you can melee two random demons and save that third hit for a heavy
underthemayo has a pretty good video about it i recommend watching it

yup but dont take too long or get hit as that resets the chain
you can shoot in between melee strikes as well, so you can melee with the gauntlet to apply shock damage, shoot with a weapon, and then finish the chain

the shield is also amazing for faltering so you can combine all of those to make a falter chain
what if I start the melee chain but, like I said earlier, the enemy (mostly hell knight) will hit back faster before me
do I just gotta start the melee chain as fast as I can because otherwise its over
then you set a falter before it

its mostly about timing and not getting greedy
if you cant get that third melee hit then dont. you know?

There is one thing I'd change for Dark Ages... added more enemy variants. I would of made Cosmic Realm monsters exclusive to those levels. Demons should stay on all other levels but make the Cosmic variants unique
I wish they add more cosmic demons in the dlc.

tda is better optimized than eternal tbh, it loads a level like instantly unlike 5-10 secs in eternal, and in eternal I had fps drops to 40 while it dropped only to 50 in tda.

In eternal i just can fly across all arena, ngl, I like this kind of gameplay better
The game gets gradually much more difficult as the game progresses. There aren't any difficulty spikes it just gets harder and harder than the last
Acts 2 and 3 were buffed last month so expect some really hard encounters
And in TDA I can fly across the arena without even having to switch to SSG. Shield bash is amazing, overall though you are more on the ground but horizontal speed can still be crazy as you move from enemy to enemy
Ye absolutely no problem with that but at the end of the day it's preference. These games are designed for preference, some prefer all, some prefer some, some prefer one

howdy <@&162901871168585728>, IDK who to contact. Just wanted to report a bug Ive encountered doing a second playthrough to finish levels. Every time I encounter a boss (like a leader) the enemy will stagger highlighted purple and when I hit the E key to finish them off, I will hit them but It will not do anything. they just stay eternally in a daze and spawn the same demons over and over again. This is for every level.

Yeah they've added stuff like the ripatorium, slow motion slider and a bunch of QOL changes. More updates coming like Ripatorium 2.0 and an ability to swap melee weapons and shield runes without going into the menu, campaign dlc as well obviously

The problem is that said higher end PCs and next gen consoles are very expensive
I think itās got something to do with the fact that you donāt really see big leaps when it comes to graphical fidelity anymore
At least not to the same extent as something like the ps1 to ps2
Still, I do think itās a little silly to call this game unoptimised when I barely had any issues with it on consoles outside of one crash

In my opinion, while DA looks absolutely stunning in some areas, there are parts where it honestly feels more like a console game from 2020, so I canāt fully agree with the defense of its visuals. That said, graphics arenāt the most important part of a game. What really stands out is how well idtech8 performs (if youāve got the hardware), and how good it feels to play, and thatās something DA really nails. High spec requirements probably hurt sales a lot, but it can still age like fine wine on the long run as people will get better hardware eventually.
That being said, Iād still trade some of that technical polish for a more complete and compelling overall game experience any day. I mean, it even had things like invisible walls at launch - not sure if those are still there nowadays - so not even a rock there.... and releasing an "AAA" game in that state feels like a pretty low bar, honestly.
The engine in DA is genuinely impressive - even extraordinary - but I think most people will sadly never fully appreciate just how good it is. Maybe itās because Iām really into computer graphics and can recognize the kind of technical advancements it brings. Or maybe Iām just biased and giving it too much credit ... hard to tell .
Then again, maybe thatās how it should be. Maybe most people shouldnāt have to care about the tech behind the scenes. Itās a tough question. That said, when I try to look at it objectively, I honestly think things like Digital Foundry have been one of the worst things to happen to gaming in general. Games should first and foremost be about gameplay, and if an AAA title can deliver that and push boundaries visually, then sure, the extra praise (and price) is well-earned.
The weapons and shooting mechanics in DA are also fantastic. That - along with the engine - is why I gave it a 6.5/10 in my review at launch. And to be honest, I still stand by that score. It was a bit generous, I admit, the engine and the shooting won me over a bit. But thatās mostly because I love DOOM so much (the classic tho, which I still play almost every day).

The dragon and mech levels meant instant -2,5 for starter, even Panzer Dragon was more fun and that is an old game from times 3D was not easy to make. Then some of the enemy AI was just as "deep" as in the original Doom but a few decades passed. Then it had invisible walls at some points, not even some rock or walls was put at those places, just the air blocked you like on playstation1 maps. Then it had blury textures all over the place, so I was indeed generous only taking away another 1 point for all that.
Iāll say this, I expected more the story this time considering they were putting more emphasis here
Itās not as detrimental to this game as something like last of us 2 (or even spider-man 2 tbh) cause doom is definitely still gameplay focused, but it was still unfortunate
And I really, really hope the dlc doesnāt end with something other than the fall of the sentinels cause even as someone who likes dark ages a lot, I have no idea where they can go from here

I saw that some mods allow you to skip the Dragon and Mech levels ā thatās definitely something Iāll try at some point. I played for 30 hours and got 100% completion on Steam when it launched (I bought the premium version, so I had early access). I havenāt felt like playing it again since then, but I probably will one day, and Iāll revise my review accordingly.

Plus the mech sections got an update as well as the dragon only having parriable shots so you can basically always empower your turret. I don't really see how the ai in this game are primitive compared to the last two, they do their job well within the context of the game, so maybe another replay is in order, up to you

I wanted to parry a hunter but the game wouldn't let me put up the shield like the ssg bug was there but it wasn't the ssg's fault
This system is part of a test batch for new retail units. Itās pretty stout for its class. I havenāt had time to test the issue on my main rig or laptops as of yet. Itās just soft locking me on every level with a boss that has to be beaten to progress further.
There are definitely some bugs with the shield
It has happened to me that sometimes after a parry doomguy wont put the shield down until he gets guardbroken
