whether or not the jump in graphics is worth the performance cost is up for discussion, but the two games aren't even remotely close to each other when it comes to visuals

maybe the doom fans on this server like you and me would happily play a game if it had semi-dated graphics, but how could id seriously justify putting out a game with graphics that look like they belong in a game made 5 years ago?

bethesda is a triple a studio, whether you like it or not, and triple a studios aren't really in the business of catering to the lowest possible denominator when it comes to pc specs

and even with that, you can still get playable frame rates at 1080p on something like a 2060, which is a heck of a lot more than you can say for nearly any modern title

yeah, doom games usually showcase the new id tech engine

doom 3 was the first to use id tech 4, 2016 was the first to use id tech 6, eternal was the first to use id tech 7, and tda is the first to use id tech 8

aw hel nah man i feel like tda is one of the best playing games i own even at 40fps it feels smooth

in the section where you get the ssg

and the cyberdemon and leader battleknight fights those were kinda rough

They are cut there by 20 percent if not more in terms of TDP and frequencies

but the performance difference between a lower-end desktop card and a corresponding laptop card is usually less than 10% anyway

just because the overall tdp isn't that high to begin with
