there are both health snd ammo pickups, but they are mostly irrelevant
you do however gain hp from literslly killing any demon while low, or any frozen demon
but restacking health isn't particularly important either lol

I like new system because you still get a breather but it notably affects pace less because they're faster now and actual GKs are still there for those that look for them. It's a nice balance

Chain shield as well has glory kills.
What I'd love to see expanded on are weapon's effects of corpses. Like how killing a demon with the Impaler pins them to a wall. That would be a nice way to keep the stylish brutality of the glory kills.
Like the ragdolls from the chainshot are really fun, and it'd be cool to see more weapon interactions on defeated demons.
They could implement that after killing a demon with the accelerator, apart from blowing up, his blood would become like acid from generated heat.
I’d love to see that apart from chain of the chainshot damaging enemies when ball is coming back it would rip demons apart and moved them closer to you (what’s left of them that is).
Sometimes when I'm out jogging I like to think about fun buffs and reworks for TDA's weapons, including fun stuff like that.

It's very underwhelming imo. Literally all upgrades are about direct hits, and never capitalizes on interesting strategies that can come from having a bouncy projectile.

Shield throw between every shot that you can to empower the next. It feels so good that I fear every day that they're going to drop a surprise nerf update

I beat my Pandemonium playthrough yesterday using only the Accelerator on Ahzrak + Witch. The rate of fire is so insane that you stagger them basically every minute. I actually recommend bringing the gauntlet because the windup on the mace can drop your combo.

Slomo shots are much weaker than the other upgrade's empowered shots. And headshots are pretty easy to land with a bit of practice

I personally find no use for the Pulverizer myself.
Not really. There are weapons that excel everywhere and are optimal in a lot of cases. And weapon swapping is so slow that it is often a waste of time to switch to the optimal weapon to ki1l one enemy.
Not saying that I want Eternal style quick swapping back, because that would create all sorts of imbalances. But the swap speed definitely does discourage using your whole arsenal

You're basically hardlocked into CC and sticking it up a big target's nose in order to deal damage. Besides the speed buff isn't worth rounds just to circle around the AI. You're already fast enough.

The nailguns were probably the least used for me

That's the perfect recipe for fighting through most of the demons in game

the ssg and csg are incommeasurable as they serve different purposes
it's also really easy to swap between them, so anytime it'd be good to restack, swap into the csg
you can run on the outskirts of the arena and burn fodder, or do groups of them for tons of armor, or even mid-combat to engage demons for longer
i main the csg because restacking is more important than DPS, and you can somewhat replace the ssg in terms of DPS
The difference between an impaler and a combat shotgun is impaler is op against super heavy demons and heavy demons and it's like a heavy cannon of Doom The Dark Ages
Meanwhile Combat Shotgun is weird to use
It doesn't do much to the crowd of enemies
Burn doesn't do shit and I don't see it

Its not about weapons having use, its about using what weapons u want in synergy with the shield and shield runes
I could show u how easy it is to clear literally any arena with it, but i quite literally cant play the game atm

it'd be easier to read with at least some punctuation lol
but you definitely are downplayong the csg. weapons hold different utility (crowd control, DPS, restacking, auxiliary, etc), with the csg falling into the category of restacking whereas the ssg is DPS, which effectively renders them incommeasurable. to determine if the csg is worth using, you don't compare it to the ssg with the same standard of judgement, but you do so with how much utility it provides, and the csg provides a lot of it. another thing i feel like many do that you don't have to (and shouldn't do) is choosing between 2 guns, just swap between them!
restacking in TDA is significantly harder than in Eternal, and it's one of the absolutely most importsnt mechanics, so a weapon letting you do so in a myriad of ways is easily a versatile weapon, while the ssg just allows you to DPS, which is a function other guns can fill
while it doesn't provide a ton of armor (3 per fodder killed on lowest resource), if you can consistently hit fodder throughout combat, that adds up
and if you manage to hit a group you get a tonn of armor
if you're in a really bad spot you can just hang back and farm some fodder with it

Well Hugo confirmed he and the team have been working on master levels for a while, so no.
They discarded those, but so far we know Hugo said they would reveal a lot at quakecon and general theory is that the master levels, balancing, acts 2 and 3 tweaks with new tunables will most likely be released at quakecon

- Confirming glory kills will not return. They have the animations ready, and they play-tested the game again with glory kills, but it does not feel good
- DLC will feel like what eternal felt like compared to 2016, "refinement of the base game"
- Nice adjustments coming to the Atlan, will be discussed at a later time
- slowmo slider + blocking while weapon-swapping confirmed (confirmed for the 5th time)
- Much bigger things will be announced at QuakeCon
Notes from the 6th stream:
•Melee and mace bugs will have tunables or will be patched(not elaborated on, most likely the mace ground fissure bug)
•emphasizing that they are working hard on supporting the game, will reveal a lot in quakecon
•Impaler will need some tweaks, specifically on how it breaks armor, other changes remain to be seen
•figured out how to solve blocking while switching, will be implemented soon
•whiplash shield throw bug will be fixed(not sure what)

That said, I’m actually glad Serrat is gone. I haven’t replayed the game, and I probably never will, mostly because of the Dragon and Mech levels.
Even Panzer Dragoon was way better, and that game is ancient, it came out much earlier in the (d)evolution of video games.

I could see the gem in the map. It's right next to me. They could've at LEAST given me a jump pad to return, they just didn't.
Worse yet, I replayed the level and got the gem- only to leave a gold cache behind on the same spot. And now if I want to get it back I have to replay the whole level because apparently there's no noclip in this game.
You can have big levels and hundreds of enemies and all you want, if this means getting rid of basic QoL improvements from the previous games then what's even the point.

Yeah, when you reach a point of no return the game displays a specific icon to ensure that if you want to collect stuff, you would have to do it before going to that area.

I have a hot take: There is a song in TDA that doesn't necessarily have a catchy, melodic chorus/motif that is still #1 or 2 in the game and top 5 for the entire modern DOOM trilogy.
The song in question: What Lies Below. Forget a melody at that point, they did any and everything in that song. Its peak status is undeniable imo
