Stun it first, then go behind it and spray
The mancubi didn't even spawn

Always be on the move and go in a circle if you can, and stay at a distance. The Mancubi spawn when the Vagary is stunned for the first time. Use Pulveriser and aim at its back for maximum damage when it is stunned and use the melee at the end to get ammo. Then, keep on shooting if the Mancubi havenāt spawned yet, but go near to either end of the arena, where they would spawn. When they spawn, falter one of them immediately and then use Pulveriser, go behind the Manubi, to hide from incoming projectiles from the Vagary and other Mancubi. Then go kill the other one with the same method then go for the Vagary, rinse and repeat
Be aware of your surroundings and keep them at the front of your vision as much as possible. Always check for that slow goo the Vagary keeps shooting
not really, if you parry on the same frame an attack hitbox intersects your hurtbox then getting hit makes perfect sense
i mean in that case they'd have to make up their mind and not call it a parry too
the parry going through also makes sense, you taking damage and the parry landing are registered at the same time so neither is canceled out
they'd have to program a special exception for this, otherwise this is just the natural conclusion of how these game mechanics interact at such a specific timing
does it feel bad anyway? should such an exception be made? yeah, probably
shouldn't every bug technically be the logical conclusion of the game mechanics though, doesn't make it any leas of a bug
if they wanted to address this in a way that favors the player, they'd have to let the player cheat every time this happens (ignore damage even though you got hit)
It makes sense logically but it isnāt an intended result. If you parry perfectly, you shouldnāt take damage. Other games have exceptions to counteract this. Itās not a big deal in TDA considering how large the parry windows are, even on the tightest setting, but it should still be ironed out.

i'd say that is as perfect as it gets
a perfect parry would be one that lands on the first possible frame
a parry that leads to you taking damage anyway is inherently partially failed
you get the parry anyway, but because you were almost late you eat one hit. i think that's fair
souls games address last frame parries by letting you block the attack (no parry so you don't get a critical hit), but that only really applies to physical damage (you can't have 100% magic damage negation) and it destroys your stamina bar which is often worse than just eating the hit
a last frame parry in this game still lets you falter enemies and proc every other parry-related effect
you're still rewarded generously for almost fucking up

I'm not sure what TDA does better then DOOM Eternal, I haven't seen anyone explain it to me.
But when I played it, I didn't feel like one's better then the other.
Possibly Eternal, but that's probably just personal preference or me not warming up to TDA enough yet.
I have some pointers, again, this is just how I experienced it.
- Better campaign pacing. Despite being longer than the other games, I never really got bored with game and always looked forward to each level. I think itās because they always introduce something new each time, whether a new weapon, mechanic, or enemy. Not every level feels the same
- Consistency with music. This is just me but even though I believe Eternalās ost was amazing, the shift from composers was jarring and I could hear the difference. Whether the difference is bad or not is up to the listener but I believe having one composer makes for a more smoother listening experience to the music.
- Communicating mechanics to the player: TDAās tutorials werenāt as jarring compared to Eternalās where a screen box just comes up out of nowhere or youāre sent into a room to learn a mechanic. While there are sections like that in TDA, thereās less of them and they donāt feel as jarring or out of nowhere.
- Story: While it is not a complex, well written one, it is much better than the previous entries. However, I still prefer the dark direction 2016 was going to.
There is more but this is on the top of my head

Sound design. Weapon design. Weapon and utility integration (all systems build off one another to create unique playstyles). Environmental exploration, secrets actually require some thought to access at times (Eternalās were literally put in your face). Environmental detail. Pacing. Cinematics.

How can you look at levels like Super Gore Nest or Nekroval and say they have good secret implementation.
At least in TDA you have multiple tools to figure out fun, easy puzzles. Instead of turning a corner and finding a secret. Seriously⦠so many Eternal secrets are looking at a grey portion of your map, going to it, seeing an obviously placed breakable wall or monkey bar and finding it in 2 seconds.
TDA tries to blend its platforming elements into the level design to make its secret hunting feel more natural, with unique tool usage to keep secret hunting fresh.
I don't agree that they were put with no effort.

Like you would just walk onto a platform and it's apparently a secret found-
Hell, At least HALF of the collectibles in Eternal are right around a corner with nothing blocking it

Well, given that you can't jump. If you are on levels that have you jump down you can't go backwards. Same thing if it's a different map on the same level.

I think it's a level design choice. In Eternal you can always go back because of the parkour. Even though I strongly dislike the parkour, but it's just the way the levels are laid out.

This is how I feel in some parts of Eternal, some arenas were just so stressful for me, like it was purely for the challenge, that the fun is just gone and it feels like survival. Challenge and fun are two different things

Agreed. I play games for fun, but even challenging stuff in Eternal you can just skip. It's only a real complaint if you have the need to 100% everything and unlock it all. Probably skipping stuff isn't the answer most are looking for though lol
Eternalās Master Levels, once I beat them and got the rewards, I never played them again because it felt like a slog. I felt the balance was off between challenge and fun, leaning more into the challenge. While they are Master Levels, they should still be fun and encourage the player to try again cause they want to. Cultist Base Master Level is a great example of this, I replay that level a lot

This and even the demons having certain strengths or weaknesses, depends on how crazy they want to get with it. You'd earn some kind of in-game currency from bounties and then use it to unlock a variety of skins. It would be a grind, but add some replayability.

Nemesis System in general is a copyright problem. Yet AC Odyssey had a decent template for it and they never got in trouble. You just have to do it right. Unsure what the exact copyright stuff is for that system WB has.

I will not rest in that the issue is slow weapon switch speed. If it was literally 5-15% faster the game would feel better

If we get a higher switch speed (and flat out damage buff to the SMG) people will gladly use the Pulverizer or other guns
There's no good reason to switch off of your heavy weapons in this game

No they are, accelerator and cycler murder crowds
The accelerator is very good high DPS on single targets
And there's no reason to use your gun to kill a crowd of fodder when the shield throw is a giant buzzsaw
I think that also makes the light guns feel inadequate
The shieldthrow is not as fast tho
The accelerator with its heatblast can falter multiple heavies in front of you
Again, it's how well you use it
The Pulverizer just feels like a "We're proud we made this gun! Use it in this room right now!"

I like the Combat Shotgun a lot with igniting demons. It gets overlooked because everyone loves Super Shotgun so much.
He attacks with intent, sure. You can turn the demon aggression down though, if he's too much for you.
||what's the deal with king novik? when he's near the slayer, he acts loyal and respectful. but whenever he gets the chance, he talks in an ambiguous way about the slayer. i sincerely thought he was going to reveal himself as a traitor at some point in the end of the game||
The way I see it is that nobody trusts Doomguy and they just use him as their own personal weapon. It's like Superman, they are scared of what they can't control and they never will be able to control him. King Novik respects his strength and commitment to destroying demons even if the trust isn't always there.

Just different part of the galaxy. Eternal has flashbacks to when he was fighting in arena and stuff. One would say it's an alternate universe he's in, comparable to Earth as these are humans.
the midevial part comes from the fact that he isnt on earth. after doom 64 (i think) he ended up on the planet Argent DāNur (where TDA takes place) and was taken in by the Sentinels as a foreigner and they eventually realized his lust for killing demons matched their own, so they decided to make him a front lines fighter and so on

I wouldn't mind a couple dlcs. For me, I feel like they have the groundwork for more content and story to tell. You make such a great game might as well use its system to put out more. That's just the way I see it. Others probably claim they should have put it all out as one thing, but the main game itself had a lot in it, beginning and end.

He confirmed that DOOM 3 is canon and links back to the other numbered games through Doom 64. DOOM 3 was more of a reboot which is probably why so many ask this question. I think it was a good decision personally, in doom 2016 and eternal glory kills gave you breathers in between the combat, in TDA the game slows down slightly every time you parry successfully. I think it would have slowed the gameplay TOO much

Should have been made a trademark way of killing the Caco, the easy and quick method.
Hopefully in the dlc we will get some kind of melee blade with some interesting finishers. I know he's had a lot of blades in the past which is likely why they wanted to go other routes.

killing the cyberdemon is rly ez once u get the parry perk in the dreadmace
i feel it's easier to kill the cyberdemon with the dreadmace than an arachnotron lol

there was that parry perk, if you parried you'd temporarily get an extra charge
let's say you used the dreadmace once. it was charging. then you parried (reloads your dreadmace faster). you'd have like 2 - 3 charges

No shame in that. I'm pretty recent for DOOM. Played the old games in the past, but it was so long ago. Got into the new trilogy with Eternal launch, playing off and on. Played Quake back in the day too.
Iāve played through basically every doom game (with the exception of the doom rpg games) and their official expansions. Though I had to save scum my way through the Plutonia experiment and even then it was still extremely difficult

Honestly, it was only a couple years ago I learned that people think saving is something bad in gaming. I grew up playing RPGs like KOTOR so I'd constantly quick save before making dialogue choices to see different routes.

Makes sense. Seems like it has a lot to do with showing off and testing one's ability in the game more than anything. It's why Dark Ages now has a permanent asterisk next to the difficulty if the sliders are ever changed.
That was because people kept saying they beat ultra nightmare when they just modified the sliders to make it significantly easier. But yeah thatās why I now try to cut down on quicksaving when I can. That is when the game doesnāt put me in a maze filled only with +15 fucking archviles
learning to clip through walls/gates Is very useful if u ever get softlocked

You can spam cycler on revenant , it kills him very quickly when not in Ghost form , then it stuns komodo with electricity arc and you have time to swap/find healthpack
yeah but the Cycler is #BoringAsHell
But dont you find the first plasma weapon very weak in every way compared to the cycler btw ? I almost never used it after the level when you first get it , it ask you to be very close and the damage trade is not worth it at all

When I started to do the mastery challenge for it I discovered itās actually pretty good for larger focus demons. Like Aggadons. I can see it fitting certain playstyles. Not nearly as useless as I first believed it to be.
Pulverizer remains to be bottom tier though.

Nothing has changed as far as I can tell, I didnt have this many game crashes like 50 hours ago. The crash reporter is also different, so I'm guessing it's something on the games side.

I did finally beat it after having to play Ch 21 5 times. 1 soft lock due to weapon bug after the chain gun section (if you dash while tossing the weapon, you cant press the use key).

Nah, let this game be more gritty with less colourful pallets. I liked doom eternal and itās funny skins, but let this entry be its own thing without such bizarre cosmetics. Seeing slayer in a unicorn rainbow armor fighting horrors beyond comprehension would be pretty horrendous by itself (for demons as well).

Also if you really want to play in a unicorn skin there may be mods that can help you with your wish.
I find that some gaming laptops can run software like this at ultra with an upwards of 70 fps.
