Nah, enemy hitboxes are pretty forgiving to allow for faster gameplay. You donāt have to be super precise.
are you used to playing eternal or 2016? if it's one of those, aiming will start hard because the game is pretty slow in comparison
my first experience of doom was on PSX. the soundtrack there was the best

Some people are good at fps games and should start on high difficulties, I think starting on UV then changing the difficulty if needed is a much better idea!

Sadly thatās not in this game. Mainly due to gameplay purposes. Devs donāt want you to cheese fights since AI works much differently than that of their classic counterparts.
also, since the super shotgun damage was lowered, it's not that fun to play at 100% demon damage.

See thatās kinda how I expect to feel about it. The game was designed to be played at a steady momentum, not technically as fast as eternal but the pacing works with this game. Cranking up game speed seems like a cheap way to add artificial difficulty. No hate to those who enjoy it of course, Iām glad itās an option because it gives us more ways to play, just personally not really a fan

Every time I replay it, I still find new combos, rapid shoot/melee usage, new ways for Holo Swap tech usage, and even more ways to manipulate the lock on burst with singular rockets and rhythmic melee chains to manipulate the pattern, speed, and reusing of LOB.
I mean you can already kinda do that with the Chaingun energy shield mod
No shieldbashing is a really fast dash that causes a shockwave

Doom games always go on sale early. Eternal went on sale pretty quickly too. Although I wouldnāt doubt that TDAās sales were hurt by Gamepass. As wonderful as it is, I donāt think a linear Singleplayer game belongs there day-1 if Microsoft is expecting high returns.
If Iām a casual player, see the game, download it, play it, like it. Iām not gonna go out of my way to own it. Iāve already experienced everything it has to offer.
And itās a short enough game where you can get a couple playthroughs in to feel satisfied by the time you want to move onto a different game.

Jokes aside. I mean I kind of just shield bash around the level a bit and pick off the strategic targets, and I think it's smarter to not be so mobile until you need to be, and being aware of where the fodder is (having NOT destroyed it) so you can directionally shield bash on demand

Chainshot, with fully charge on parry upgrade, then get in close and ride the rhythm, while pinging a fully charged chainshot in between the beats. best way to dance with the Cyberdemon and hellknights etc

For example, a custom demon I drew, the nephilim, has a variety of ways you can kill. Shooting its core for 100% damage, putting it an a glory strike and either:
Punch it in the face so hard it falls and blows up
Cut it's calves and watch it fall and blow up
Put a bomb on its neck and blow it up manually

@hard thistle A thought just occurred to me playing through the Temple of Lomarith.
It is the only place in the cosmic realm with a violet color scheme. And in the sky above Lomarith there are even blue hues. The Temple of Lomarith also has the bodies of many dead Wraiths scattered around it. And given it is the place where the ritual occurs to awaken Thira's wraith soul and extract its energy, I think it could be safe to say that Temple is the primary place where that was done, and because of that pervasive action, the area around it may be the true look and form of the cosmic realm.
Everywhere else seems to be a sickly green color, which I wonder may be a result of the fact that the cosmic realm at large is dying. Perhaps the loss of the Wraiths is partially to blame for the Cosmic Realm's Degradation? Or perhaps just the loss of the old one? Maybe both? Either way I get the impression that, because of the blue hues in the sky, we could surmise that a bit of Wraith energy permeates that location, as the place where Wraiths seemed to be frequently sacrificed, or otherwise killed.
The fact that the basic attack for beings from the cosmic realm is violet also lends credence to this idea I think.

I believe you need to run and jump. I appreciate adding a skill barrier to it but Glory Kills felt satisfying and quick in the fast paced gameplay while they became muscle memory as in they were happening every 5 seconds. Really shifts the games pace in a way I'm not totally used to yet

Well, they aren't the main method to perform the function of glory kills any more. It's more convenient to simply strike them and add the Glory Kills in for spice.

I need opinions, I was doing a tda UN run and even tho I parried, triggering my shield rune my shield was broken from the attack and then I died very quickly after, I have encountered a bug that still has my save file so I can carry on but does that invalidate my run or is it correcting where the game as made a mistake and not letting the error lost hours of progress?

Agreed, at the end of my first play through I hated the game but second time through when everything clicked into place it felt great
it's at a place where i am supposed to go to "lair of the deragon" and there are wave of enemies with hell knights and pinky riders
Siege 1 used to get me all the time, then chapter 14, the doom hunter just destroyed me, same happened on the second cosmic realm mission
Oh that's an annoying room, i can only suggest headshot to all the knights it puts them in glory kill right away and same for the riders, get rid of the ranged attacks then just keep your distance

Also, can mancubus feint? I've also several instances where you get close, they charge up a green attack then slam the ground like it's a green attack. But it's not. No parry if you raise shield. No damage if you don't. And they then hold the pose like they're screaming in your face.

1 hundo p. I'd post it on reddit, but I'm vanned sitewide which is a pretty big PIA when I want to post little deedbacks like this on various games. Mine is less overall structure in this case and more specific niche adjustment that I think would be useful--I just want there to be an option in the menu for melee choices to persist after death when changed mid-checkpoint (even if that means charges reset to zero). That way if I know I want a particular melee option in a particular encounter, I don't have to keep changing it every time I die

I agree. I wish changing your runes and melee options saved when equipping them. Pretty annoying to have to repeat the process every death. Iād expect there to be a lot of QOL changes coming to the game in the next few months, hopefully with that being one of them.

And instead of having him speak just have the helmet and him just making grunts and such while ripping demons. You might could do the original story where he gets in trouble and gets sent to mars and that could be where he had dialogue. But for someone to be a badass killing demons with a whole arsenal I think the Terminator could pull it off in an alternate universe
But i recomment playing casually in first playthrough instead of focusing on 100% to have more fun playing

So i tried the PT update yesterday... I am kinda unimpressed. I played through the game 3 times before that without PT and I gotta say I honestly like the game with more frames way better in comparison. Mind you I got a Chad PC (9800x3d, 5090, 240hz UWQHD) and PT runs reasonably with 90 fps (DLAA) and 2xFG, but the input lag is very not doom. The game is beautiful enough without PT to justify higher fps gains. Unlike CyPu77 PT also didn't really do much for me graphical wise. I take the increased hit on fps and input lag 77 because it's just that much better implemented. What are your takes on that?
