I haven't finished the campaign yet but I have a lore question. In Eternal, they made a Whole Big Deal about how a titan isn't really dead unless it's got a crucible blade in it. Hayden even said if Slayer took the blade out of the Taras Nabad titan it would come back to life.

So like... does TDA address the fact that in the first few levels you kill like 6 titans without a crucible?

The combat system wasn't as engaging. Skill ceiling is too low for my tastes. It isn't as reliable the mech and dragon sections were a drag. The characters were shallow and the bad guy was a dork.

Asscrack was a fun B-movie villain imo.
But as for the combat, it goes a lot deeper than what’s required from the player. Unlike Eternal, you can get through this game without exploring a lot of its unique systems. Unfortunate, but I can understand wanting a more free form approach to the combat from a design perspective. There are some balancing issues to address, and the game could’ve been a little more intense with its combat encounters given the sheer scope of your tools, but the sliders are there to help simulate that push into “the fun zone.”
Again I don’t think it should be up to players to create that experience, but it was id’s attempt at giving everyone a satisfying experience. There’s a lot of cool shit you can do with this game’s combat.

I think that was a purposeful nerf to parrying, I suddenly started noticing that would happen after the patch. You can also parry too late, sometimes it will go through your shield even though you pressed the button a few milliseconds ago

For a hot second, there's a reason to use the plasma gun cuz of blue shields. But then you get the shield upgrade where it like cuts through entire crowds when you throw it at a blue shield and then once again, you don't need to switch to anything else.

Yeah, it's like a sword, you don't hit it and way, you use ssg then combo with shield. With other weapons like Ravager and Accelerator you basically just hold the button and throw shield sometimes, bash isn't optimal
