People who struggled with Eternal seem to find TDA piss easy while it’s the complete opposite for those who found Eternal easy.
I haven’t been able to play much, I suppose I’m struggling to find my flow still. I’m doing everything I see the best players do, and parrying is easy. Very curious to find the core of my struggle with this game.

1 was locked behind a paywall that was only available to preorder buyers until months later where it could be purchased as part of a bonus pack.
And the one that did release was ARC, which was almost easier than its base level (considering progression).
So not a whole lot there, but I guess it is more than TDA. It also had a MP but really, who played that?
TDA is a bigger campaign too. So it’s got that going for it. Does it justify the $10 markup? I wouldn’t say so, but it’s obvious the game was given a lot more funding than Eternal was.

I re-visited it prior to playing Dark Ages and it has aged really well, my only complaint with it is how easy it is to get BFG ammo and abuse it, but you can always nerf yourself by barely using the gun.

|| Let's start with the story! The story of this game is held together with duct tape. A lot of the marketing emphasised the story, making mention of how this is us playing through the Slayer Testaments, and this is like...my fiftith time mentioning this, but none of the events in the Testaments happen. Ahzark wasn't even mentioned in the Testaments and his role in the narrative would've definitely had him mentioned at least once. The implication that Wraith energy is somehow more powerful than the power of the guy who created the universe (keep in mind the Slayer has the Dark Lord's power in him) is comical at best. This is all absolutely a retcon.

Commander Thira was an interesting addition. The warrior princess of the Sentienels. How would she add to the- she gets shelved. The story throws her into a box halfway through the game. They also did the "girl who is the key to everything" trope, an incredibly annoying and predictable trope that robs said female character of agency and turns her into a super special McGuffin. Her powers are also painfully uncreative and lame.

What about the other Sentinel characters? Well, Novik certainly existed, as did Valen. Unfortunately their characters were just...there. They didn't really do anything, they didn't develop or change. Nothing happened. We never see what causes Novik to change his mind on the Slayer if at all and Valen, despite being super important to the lore was literally just a background character. ||

But outside of that, the rhyme and reason is practically non-existed.
