I try to focus on more positive aspects of games even if they are a bit rancid. I'll be happy when this comes out regardless because it's a new doom game. Doom 3 isn't my favorite Doom game tbh but I can still play it and enjoy it.

Test Drive Unlimited: Solar Crown. Big open world driving/racing game. The first two in 2006 and 2011 were staples of my mid teens/early 20s and largely affected my hobbies as a whole.

The new one is an utter flop and money grab, a shit game riding the branding of the successful former two.

Sucks, but it is what it is. I never got excited about it because I had a bad feeling it was going to be awful, and it is.

Down to less than 250 active players a day on Steam less than 2 months after launch. I think (and hope) they pull the plug and cancel it soon

Doomguy has never fought anything that used reality bending attacks against him. The Dark Lord changing the arena mid fight does not count as that isn't an attack as it does not directly damage you. Samuel Hayden temporarily "beat" (and I use that lightly) Doomguy by simply teleporting him off of Mars. There's nothing implying Doomguy could survive a reality-warping attack cause if he fought against other "Complex Multiversal" people like youve mentioned he 1000% loses. He is NOT beating Dr. Manhattan.

I feel like TAG2 is like objectively awful. It didn't introduce a single good gameplay feature, it didn't introduce any new enemies that weren't reskins of old enemies or pathetic 1 HP guards, it failed to deliver a challenging experience, the Davoth battle was highly disappointing and again failed to be challenging, it had a horrible story and left the franchise in a corner narratively where it's going to be really hard for the writers to find a way out of it. The only things I can really say I feel like TAG2 did well are that the game is indeed doom and obviously as they always do, doom's environmental designers went hard, all of the level atmospheres are sick.

I personally think that all of doom 2016 has great level design. There isn't a single level that I think is bad. And I love every hell, I disagree that it feels rushed. Kadinger Sanctum is a top 3 level in all of doom for me, and titans realm, necropolis, and argent d'nur are all extremely fun levels that have great atmosphere

Yeah I love TAG1, I didn't love UAC Atlantica as much as everyone else did, but I still thought it was a cool atmosphere and a fun level. I love Blood Swamps a lot more than most people in the community do tho so that kinda makes up for it, and I genuinely enjoy The Holt a lot, despite most other's opinion of it. I also enjoyed the Samur fight quite heavily. It was bullshit hard, sure, but I loved it.

You can prepare however you like really, I wanted to do UN completely by myself with no outside help or tutorials or tips cus I thought it would be fun that way, so what I did to prep instead was I played through the entire game on Nightmare twice pretending that it was a UN run, so only doing what I would actually do on a UN run. Then I did extra practice on the parts I struggled with. That was my "prep" for the run, then I just got to attempts.
