This is something that some forget. The Maykrs are meant to be mortal, the Transfiguration is supposed to be a natural life/death cycle. The reason the Khan is doing what she's doing in Eternal isn't because they'll all die if they won't - it's because they've been doomed to immortality. The Transfiguration isn't allowing them to die, and it's degrading their bodies and minds into flesh-and-blood monsters who cannot hold the minds of a Maykr within them.

The Maykrs are essentially stuck with the complete opposite of Davoth's problem. They have been cursed with immortality, a degrading version of it that drives them insane, and they're culling innocent souls to stave it off.

This process is dependent on the presence of the Father in Urdak.

If he isn't there, the Transfiguration process is corrupted and Maykrs cannot be transferred into the Singularity. So they go insane, trapped inside machine bodies degrading into corrupted flesh.

This is why the Khan has a gross face when you beat her. It's not natural; it's an effect of the Transfiguration, which she's covering.

The PC still "functions" but it cannot hold all that info in a primitive facsimile of a creature.

This is what the corrupted Transfiguration process is. It's what happens when the Maykrs aren't allowed to die properly. They were doomed to this process when Samur stole the Father's Life Sphere away from the Luminarium.

Part of why I like him is I don't see him as the climax of the Slayer's story. To me it is the fight with the Icon that mattered most.

Fighting Davoth was not the be-all-end-all. It was the Slayer sweeping up the trash after dealing with the Icon of Sin. Davoth is a left-over from a past that needs to stay dead.

Well technically the Baalgar Demon aka the shadow lord we see in 2016 as the CyberDemon could be alive or not I’m not sure when the slayer kills him the first time, in the lore book he had a war with a different species and one of their greatest warriors a giant of a man was too much for the demons so he was challenged by the Baalgar Demon who won burning him with hellfire and cutting his legs off with a sword then feeding the legs to the demons and hanging his body after they killed them all off, he would later become one of the Great One Titans under the helm of The Icon of Sin.

It would be Kool to see him or another one tbh

Okay it’s said in 2016 that there was a great battle in the titans realms in the third age so unless it’s referring to the Great One aka the champion Titan then it means Doomslayer and The Baalgar Demon we know as the CyberDemon will fight in them 3rd age so that’s when he dies ig sometime after his own big battle.

There is no definitive explanation but I have a theory.

Mainly that I do not believe they are ghosts. Rather, I believe they are sentient holograms action as "recordings" of the Sentinel consciousness, allowing a fleeting version of the host's mind to exist after death.

My evidence:

• Valen exists separate from his "hologram ghost," indicating that these entities are not souls resulting from death.
• The Argenta are characterized by a terror of death, which led to their worship of the Maykrs. Being as advanced as they are, they would thus be motivated to develop technology that allows them to pass on information after death.

This would essentially be a super advanced "last will and testament." Valen uses his before death, to leave a gift for the Slayer as he rallies Sentinel troops.

Cyber Mancubus in both 2016/eternal were Kool with their different attacks and new cybernetic green armor, the Dread knights are new creations amped up hell knights more metal with energy blades and better ground slams they looked Kool too, and armored barons with the Kool new armor that reconstitutes and the Kool mace giving a new fighting style and mechanics tho I am torn if the red version from the art would of been better or not tbh

@hard thistle it's not exactly a lore question, but how likely do you think it'd be for Maykrs to have constructs? Filling a niche or a gap where they can't use mortals either because the task is too difficult, secretive, or too "holy", but they also won't use their own Drones because it's either beneath even them, or physically impossible for them (going to Hell)

A construct in question would be some sort of half-way Maykr. Made with their technology and given a mind of its own, but it's just complex AI that can only focus on their creation's purpose, and it does not suffer the Transfiguration.
