I'm fairly confident in my assessment that the "Baalgar" Codex file here is likely fan-written. It's very different from the style of writing seen in the rest of 2016's files, and focuses a bit too much on explaining the Baalgar's various attacks in the boss fight.

I can't really find anything online about datamined Codex files from the older versions.

Freezes, crashes, weird af AI behavior and also freezing again. Getting blown out of the map constantly and into the void. There was a part in Final Sin with the Marauder where an imp was frozen like a Mortal Kombat character, he just stood there gyrating. It was so funny.

When I wrote my guide, what I did was marathon all of the games, read all the Codex files (and Doom 3's PDA shit), construct a basic timeline and the bestiaries, then reread each Codex file a few more times to get more of the details down, and basically whenever I needed to add more substantial content I would do another readthrough of all the lore content.
Then when I was done I marathoned the games again just to be sure.

Hugo once told me, like 4 years ago, that the lore is very open to interpretation. So maybe its just a case of a broken telephone. Someone says something, another persons repeats it slightly different, and eventually the main idea will become so detach that you will never know what was said in the beginning

I'll be honest, I will often pull up the Codex files again and read them when I'm bored, and then I'll cross reference the guide just to double-check my details and make sure shit is right. It pays to do this, because sometimes you'll miss details that aren't very prominent at first - like Doom 2016 mentioning how humans have established colonies on several planets, which kind of recontextualizes the conflict in Doom Eternal a bit.

You don't realize this because the series never mentions it outside of a few sparse mentions of "in the solar system" and then an ad in the Advanced Research Complex level for people to visit colonies on Jupiter or whatever other planets it mentioned that escape me.

Something interesting about it that nobody mentions is that this specific suit is adorned with a bunch of serial codes, and what appears to be manufacturing labels and general factory gibberish. The point is that the Praetor Suit is very unlike a lot of other Sentinel suits because it overwhelmingly gives off the impression of something that was manufactured in a modern factory, not something that was "forged."

1. The Praetor Suit likely is unique and probably cobbled together from scrap. I think these codes are likely for other Argenta-made machines which were scrapped to make this, by the Wretch.

   And, if my memory serves me correctly, I don't think the Eternal suit has all this bullshit on it like the 2016 suit does.

Perhaps their factories look like the UAC's, is what I'm saying.

They do. I'm not suggesting a link between the Argenta and the UAC; moreso that I think the Argenta's "medieval" vibe is only superficial and may not extend to their factories or manufacturing plants.

We can already see this trend with other Argenta tech. The Fortress of Doom is very gothic in appearance, but Atlans look similar to ARC machinery, for example.

Would they not see Valen as the same? Valen betrayed his people "for Hell." Sure, it was under false pretenses, but does Hell care?

I could maybe, maybe see them doing a plotline where we discover Nekravol halfway through the game, and then in the second half we fight Loyalist Sentinels alongside the demons; and then it ends with the Betrayal, leading into the Slayer's Testaments.

Doomguy spent some time in the Sentinel army before he was put in the Divinity Machine. It was done in a hurry because the Taras Nabad invasion was devastating thanks to the Dreadnought.
