Hey, I can see that your bot has 'administrator' toggle enabled, this should be enough.

If this error is not going away, I would try updating existing custom bot to the modern standard, per this guide:

(step 3 is the new thing that needs to be done)

I can see that current bot was installed long time ago, maybe that's why it can't complete this action.

The apply button doesn’t save settings under “server” tab when I turn on server settings. Pop up blocker is off, ad blocker is off, windows updated and latest version of browser. Tried 3 different browsers, tried Mac and windows

Wanted to ask if this is recommeded now for users to ask questions against a documentation website/MCP server. Context: have a MCP server that feeds information about my project, and wanted the users to ask questions with the Copilot.

Also, is there information about rate limits or number of messages we can send? Couldn't find anything

Thank you for your interest! The feature is in the very early Beta state right now, so it has some strict limits indeed. You can see them in the browser console while talking to the copilot on web, and here as well, per account:

I'm having an issue with adding Copilot to my server. It's saying Mee6 doesn't have permission to add roles even though the bot's role has administrator and manage roles turned on

It does read it, when talking in a thread. Are you talking to the copilot in the thread?

You don't add the role to anyone, you ping it and ask the question, if you have it enabled on the dashboard for the server. Otherwise you talk to it on the dashboard only. Please see the plugin and all the settings there 🙏

Edit 2: Yup only works if you re invite the original mee6 bot. If you are struggling to get it to work and you only have your custom bot, re invite the original mee6 back. Hope this helps future users ☺️

I have bot MEE6 and custom bot in my test server and it's working fine there, so good to know that not having MEE6 was causing an issue.
Hopefully the devs will be able to fix this soon so that MEE6 isn't needed. 🙂

Yes, I understand. Currently the behavior is to create threads and talk there, and if the perm to create threads is missing - it replies in the channel, but misses context. That's something we need to address in some way. Thank you for the feedback!

Sorry, let me clarify. I have two Mee6 bots on my server, and it seems like Copilot functionality only works if the non-customizable Mee6 bot is on the server.

Personally, I find issue with it because we compete with other organizations to curate experiences and being able to hide what our bot was was a huge win for Mee6

This isn't intended behaviour and the devs will no doubt fix it as soon as they can.
The nature of betas is that there will be bugs and issues and we can raise these with devs to get them resolved before Copilot eventually gets to final release. 🙂

If you're using a custom bot, make sure you also add standard MEE6 as there's currently issues if you have only the custom bot.
Also make sure the custom bot (and MEE6) have all necessary permissions. Easiest option if it's still not working is to give both the custom bot and MEE6 full Admin perms. If it then works when you ping the @Copilot role then it's a permissions issue you'll need to resolve before removing the Admin perm.
Also be sure to check "Customize settings", not just the summary, as there's more settings and information in there.

Copilot is nice, I guess it’s working only with the normal MEE6 bot at the moment? I see the Copilot on the dashboard is wrongly using the normal one, I’m using the custom bot with the full permissions and testing the new section, by asking Copilot to create an announcement for me. Hopefully this bug gets sorted out as soon as possible.

I'm guessing this is one of the issues they have currently that devs will try to fix as soon as they can.
I tested this and indeed the standard MEE6 bot posted the message instead of my custom bot (both bots have full Admin perms, so perms aren't an issue.

I also note that if you ask it to send the message as you, the webhook says "via MEE6" instead of "via yourbotname ". That needs to be fixed too.

As I mentioned before, this is in Beta, so any of us using it are testing it and should expect some issues. That's why I'm not putting it on a live server for now, it's only on my test server. 🙂

so I used the new copilot with mee6. I had it setup a full economy & may have of overloaded it with how in depth I had it go. Now zero custom commands or anything economy related work anywhere. Not sure how to refresh the bot or what to do, I tried to enable & disable both custom commands & economy but it still wont work anywhere in any chats. Also tried to make sure that the commands weren't only allowed in a single chat, didn't really find anything related to that either.

Even though it has a BETA label, I think the fact that it’s only available for 5 days should be made explicit on the dashboard.

I just set up a chat and a role, invited several people, and raised everyone’s expectations on the AI — only to lose access to the service in fewer than 20 questions.
And now I find out it’s only available again tomorrow, and then i only have 4 more days 🙁

It isn't restricted to just 5 days, if you don't use the full 100 credits available in a single day - it will last longer than 5 days - so not restricted to just 5 days.

Current Restrictions:
Daily Limit: 100
Lifetime Limit: 500

It is still in BETA, which is why security features are in place on it.

Afrer re adding mee6 it works again, and posts as mee6 (EdenBot is just the nickname I gave it in server) then it adds my custom bot name in brackets

It is using my custom bot profile picture though. Just strange that I need both bots, not really an issue though.

Nothing new yet, it still shows the permission requirement to send a message as my custom MEE6 bot, which I also wrote a different prompt as “Send a message as my custom MEE6 bot (Bot Personalizer)”, no response either.

I've just tested this and it's now working correctly. Whether I tell it to respond as MEE6 or as my custom bot, it replies as the custom bot.
I do have both bots in my server currently, so haven't tested if it works with just the custom bot.

Update: I’ve just tested it again, the custom bot is working now, it’s just that you have to say the name of the custom bot in order to send it, e.g. “Send a hello message to the#chat as {your custom bot’s name}”, if you just say “Send a message as my custom bot won’t work. It explains why customers are reporting it here and not knowing that we must say the name of the custom bot 😄

I didn't find that. I just said to send a message. It asked if it was to be from me or MEE6.
If I said MEE6, or my custom bot name, it sent it from my custom bot either way.

Actually I said bot personaliser rather than custom bot. Maybe that's the difference. 🤔

OK I tested again. I've asked it to post as MEE6, custom bot and bot personaliser and each time it posts as my custom bot. So that's good.
It does need to be a bit more accurate on the date though. Whilst tomorrow's date is correct, the day isn't. Especially after it already told me that today was Saturday! 😅

So what I'm seeing is that it posts as a third app that is either taking the role name or the server nickname for the "new" MEE6 bot, and then applying my custom bot's profile picture and name in parenthesis. When typing, it shows "COPILOT is typing..."

I think the behavior we all expect is that it's native to just our custom bot and no other MEE6 bot or app is necessarily needed, but I see that this is currently a development hurdle you guys are working on

In this example, Copilot on the list is the newer MEE6 bot needed for Copilot functionality, with the custom bot not being in the thread at all despite the message taking the appearance of it

I think unlimited usage would be highly unlikely, seeing as use of Claude has a cost (Claude free tier has limited uses). It's possible we may get some free usage, but for a lot of usage there may be a cost to that.
That's just my thoughts, MEE6 staff don't tell us anything about plans for the future. 🙂

$45 (current 50% discount) would no way cover years of unlimited usage of Claude as well as the other services that MEE6 has to pay for (bot servers, staff wages etc).

New issue (Misinformation)

Now I’m talking to Copilot on Discord for the first time. 😄 Anyway, when I’m asking about the Custom Commands plugin (not sure if this issue has already been reported), Copilot thinks the Custom Commands plugin supports the slash commands, since MEE6 doesn’t actually support them, as shown in this screenshot below of showing the slash when providing the list of the custom commands.

I’m just writing to express how great I think the idea of the copilot is! I think it worked pretty well! I found it pretty simple to use. Had a few bugs and had to be told a few times to understand I think I’m not sure. The only thing I have an issue with is this usage amounts. 100 uses in one day and a max of 500 subject to change. It’s a real shame to be honest as now I’m at a stand still with the copilot and have found myself looking for alternative websites and companies who offer the same feature as I’m not up for just waiting and potentially only going to have 5 days of use. I don’t feel like I should even bother to keep working with it or learning it etc if it’s not going to change. There are companies that offer all the support I mean if this limits daily usage can change I think I’ll stay for my time I plan to carry this stuff on. Is there anything that can be done??

I get this is the beta service and already it is very good does need things addressing but none the less still great in the early days! Could you possibly think of an option or a way for a “beta plus” in a way to give us a chance to buy into the beta service to have access to the copilot even in beta stage? I’d happily a bit for the chance to carry on using it even in its testing stage. I’d rather not look elsewhere and would love to carry on using this service! Just food for thought?

I do not recommend, I did this & it broke my mee bot. My custom commands & economy stopped working fully & havent been working for days. Can't seem to find help or a fix for it either. I can't even undo what was done to make the economy better because when clicked in the dashboard its so in depth ig that my dashboard crashes instantly & says error to contact support. Which I've tried.

So, I’ve noticed that Copilot can read certain parts of the Settings tab, specifically things like which Admin roles and Bot Master roles are selected. However, it does not appear to have access to all info within that tab.

For example, when I asked Copilot for the current date/time, prefix setting, timezone, etc, it returned the incorrect answers. 😅 I’m guessing Copilot only have access to certain predefined elements within the Settings tab, rather than everything displayed there?

If you are using a custom bot (bot personaliser) there's an issue currently - you also need to have the standard MEE6 bot in your server for Copilot to work..
You can add MEE6 by clicking on its profile in the member list over there --->
and clicking on the Add App button to invite it to your server.

Yes currently all I am seeing is these are not working. When you @ the characters they used to respond back but after it overloaded they broke. Also zero custom commands using the legacy "!" work anywhere anymore. Also just tried using /commands such as "/clear" to clear the messages shown in the screenshot. Bot instantly crashes & gives that error. Tickets are also nonworking anymore, reaction roles also are not working still. The entire bot seems to just be in a constant state of timing out. Copilot also still not working. The bot as a whole is just acting as if its offline & I am unsure what to do as a fix, I would remove the bot & readd it but I am worried it won't save anything that I have setup so I will have to redo all of the settings I've done within all of the plugins. No social post are working either. Dashboard is no longer crashing that the economy has been returned to its original state but nothing in this server or any plugins work. I have premium for the bot itself & the characters

I am going to quickly test & see if I remove a one of the ai charaters then have it readded if it will start working again.

How do we make our AI bots use the automations? We set one up but when we use the trigger words it gives us random answers and not the one we set up in the automation?

Also, my admin cannot open/edit the AI character to help get it tweaked and working right. She only has a phone, no computer. Is it because she is on a phone instead of a computer or is there something I need to do in the mee6 page for her to do it? She is manager and administrator both in my discord page.

Not sure if this is a thing that Copilot stops messaging in a few hours after the last reply. When I came back to one of the threads and continued the conversation a day later after the thread was automatically created, Copilot didn’t seem to rejoin the thread with my new message. So I have no idea how long it usually stops messaging/leaves the thread after the last reply and have to join new threads for continuing the conversations. 😅

If you’re using Copilot’s old thread, you’ll have to ping Copilot in every message, or join the very recent thread (new) without worrying about the ping. 🙂

In my test server, it looks like the dashboard is faster than before, however, for some reason, it won't respond within Discord now, even if I mention it, post in a thread, or even reply to it

Indeed, that’s why I posted this message for the employees to wonder weather this is a thing or not, the only way we can use the workaround to always ping Copilot’s role in every message in the old thread in order to continue the conversation, as long as Copilot sill remembers the whole chat history in the thread what we’re talking about.

1. Add MEE6
   Go to https://mee6bot.com/dashboard/, log in with your Discord account, and click on "set up" in the desired server.

2. To access the dashboard from your server, you can type /dashboard at any time.
   MEE6 is a modular bot, which means you need to enable each plugin and configure each command in the dashboard before using it on your server.

Something is wrong with its perspective of time for my timezone. It thinks first day of the week is Sunday, but for me it is Monday. In the end, it successfully disabled that day.

I think co-pilot is an AMAZING, AMAZING feature yesterday I used it for my server to save some time. If I had done that manually it would have taken me 1-2 hours and I got it done in 10 minutes.

Copilot doesn’t work for normal users even though they have the required permissions. As demonstrated, it works for users with admin permissions, but not for normal users. It says they don’t have permission, even though they do

Hey, Copilot is a Beta feature, and it is/was free, you didn't need Premium for it 🙂
You need Premium for copilot to work with Premium plugins, but that's a bit different.

Anyways, I don't have more info just yet, so if you don't need Premium, feel free to refund it: #〉refunds
