mouse angle depends a lot on the grip
make sure your wrist is straight and not angled to one direction or the other
also check on your shoulder
What about my shoulder specifically?
Ah, it probably is
theres a video about wrist exercises/pain and shoulder stuff from 1hp, that is really well made
highly recommend to check that out
If I'm mentally drained from a game and performing poorly every game, should I meditate or take deep breathes? or take a 2-3 day break?
if you are mentally drained why would you keep playing
just take a longer break to reset
how do u get mentally drained from a game tho
You've never played fortnite have u
Completely up to u
valorant comp lol imm3 struggle
take a break, your message makes it sound like playing valorant is a 9-5 job
yeah i played like 3-4 hours a day everyday
but now i feel like i tilt so easily rn so
take a 20-30 minutes nap
if ur not able to fall asleep, then do some meditation that focuses on relaxation like yoga nidra
up to you to research how those two gives you energy 🤷♂️
nah I do but I don’t get mentally drained
Try out a solo depression cup and u will
I’ve played maybe 1 solo cash cup in the past 2 years 🙏
Good for u
I recommend u to continue in that spirit
I’m getting pain in the index finger of my mouse hand so I’m taking a break from FPS games to let it heal, does anyone have an idea of how long that will take or have some advice to give?
the pain will come back if you dont fix the issue. do stretches and exercises, fix bad habits/posture
Does posture really have an impact on my finger? I don’t think I have any bad habits I’m assuming it’s just from overuse
What exercises would you recommend I do?
the 1hp youtube channel has a lot of content on stretches and exercises
even without issues, you should do stretches
if its just overuse, exercises to build endurance can help you play longer without issues
im not sure how it is for index finger, but issues with pinky/ring finger can be caused by shoulder issues
stretches will help temporary pain, you'll want to do some strength training with those fingers. After doing so though, wait at least 2 hours before trying to play. It's probably easier to just do them sometime before bed.
Tracking long strafes makes me shake in my hand not a lot but quite noticeable
Just using my mouse gives my pain so I feel like if I tried to do strength training exercises it could make it worse
take some time off and once the worst pain subsides start doing strengthening exercises
depending what you have some pain is okay to train with but immediately stop if the pain gets a level worse than what it was before
obviously you shouldnt trust randoms on the internet and maybe get a proper diagnosis if it feels serious
definetely go slow if its that bad.
I'm back guys with another routine to help keep your guys's wrist and hands healthy. This routine is a little different as it is a FULL injury prevention routine! It involves the following types of exercises:
- Self-Massage
- Stretching
- General Coordination
- Strengthening and Endurance
The purpose of this routine is to keep your wrist/ha...
i did this one and the 6 min stretching routine, when i had issues with my wrist/fingers
for the strengthening exercises it also says, you should stop if you get pain from it
Thank you
The same thing applies to this video as well, you'll want to do it after your gaming session or allow a grace period of 1-2 hours before doing anything.
it's a mix of both stretching and strength exercises. The video description will tell you the same thing, including a recommended schedule.
its okay if i lift a little my arm to certain scenarios, that like only my hand is on mouse
For those who drink tea (not sweat tea), what type do you drink before or after gaming?
Lads should i be concerned about my wrist popping when roatating my wrist. Forearm is a bit sore aswell
only if the popping is accompanied with pain
like if the popping causes immediate pain?
pretty much
if it's got pain or swelling that comes with the popping see a doctor, otherwise it's just a natural occurrence of caused from nitrogen gas build up in the joints.
just drink whatever whenever
i usually drink a lot of jp greens and whatever other chinese whites/greens/yellows r interesting to me on the day
oh and a ton of light oolongs
Had some finger pain and tendonitis earlier this year; ended up having to take something like 3-4 months off from shooters IIRC. But I have old man healing speed
why didnt you do any strengthening exercises to make the recovery faster?
or was it that bad
Did I not do that?
did you?
@plucky otter are you back to 100%?
Yep. Have also adjusted my grip and tension to not get pain again
sweet
my negative thoughts are so bad while playing my game idk what to do and i cant get professional help
@thorn haven how?
you dont understand but thanks for trying
why cant you get professional help?
Iodine worth taking?
People studying iodine for 40 years and telling us this, but the mainstream media neglecting it and saying dont take over 0.5mg (this article says 12,5mg daily)
@pulsar niche im underage and my parents wouldn't let me go to the doctor over negative thoughts on a video game it sounds stupid doesn't it
to them
ah alright
i feel like i could be the only person dealing with this because ive done tons of research and see noone with my same problem
try mindfulness meditation, though the benefits wont be apparent on a short period
what is it like, can you describe it
just intrusive negative thoughts about yourself if you misplay?
i have ocd and intrusive thoughts
its like my mind is battling
and it wont shut up
i just want it to stop as its insulting me
and if i do good it tries to bring me down
its like im fighting my own mind
im trying my hardest to break past this and i will
i dealt with something similar in the past, mindfulness meditation is the only thing that worked after quite a few years
its basically trying to have no emotional attachment to those intrusive thoughts but instead to be an observer
over time you might still have the thoughts but you have learned the pattern to let it go
as in it will have no effect on you
i appreciate it man
do some research on it, its well documented with its benefits
i actually coincidentally did it just earlier and it did help me calm down
then i started right when any thought happened i would hum over it and it worked
so yes that does work but sometimes im so stubborn
ima keep doing that and research thanks man <3
keep it up, consistency is key with it
try to atleast a few weeks before dropping it
Hopefully I won’t take as long as you, but it hasn’t improved at all in like a week off so I’m not feel optimistic
the healing process takes some time. be consistent with the stretches. in the wrist warrior video it says, it normally takes around 6 weeks. go slow on the endurance exercises, but do them as long as you dont get pain from it. Even if its just like a few reps, it will gradually increase, load management is important. over time you should be able to slowly increase the time playing.
you can also do extra stretches throughout the day, it dont have to be just the routine once a day
i start getting shoulder pain whenever i start playing static or ts and im not tensing wrist at all
How do I get platinum without my rsi getting in the way
by fixing your issue first. do exercises and stretches, reduce playtime until you feel better
Started working at Kroger and I basically get all the blueberries I want
Gameing time
I eat like an entire tub or more per shift this shit is great
start forcing yourself to think positive thoughts when you do something right. And remember that your self talk strongly controls your mental state, people who say they're depressed all the time in a way stop themselves from getting better, even when they might be able too.\
Because it is stupid
I'm not sure if people here understand how it is to live with a mental disability so giving advice like "just don't think about it" or saying it's stupid is not productive or worth saying.
I’m not a doctor, but many people seem to have poor blood flow. Just think about how common cardiovascular issues are these days. Niacin (B3) which is an incredible vasodilator that helps our bodies get good blood flow cycling. Including the brain. It’s also shown to be really useful for arthritis. I started taking 500mg of niacin w/flush before bed every night and I noticed that my wrist-bones aren’t aching as much. There’s an older book called “Niacin: The Real Story” that is well worth a read in my opinion.
People have poor cholesterol problems at a young age because of this ^
Meaning their bodies aren’t able to get sufficient blood flow since the arteries are being clogged. Making the heart have to work harder and be more selective on where the blood goes.
Niacin raises HDL (good cholesterol) while lowering LDL (bad cholesterol)
I wish lol
I have so many issues
mostly genetic, but my diet was trash in my undergrad years
That’s what I started to notice most of my issues
You're still not helping and that's not how it works. If you're not a doctor, psychologist, or therapist, it's best you don't bother giving "advice" since it you're just making it worse.
@open garden you’re absolutely right. Toxic comments like these are the reason health channels get shut down.

Very sorry about this guys. He is incredibly out of line and giving what I can only describe fucking horrendous advice.
what did he say
@open garden @plucky otter Also want to thank you both for publicly dismantling his points. Negative comments like this have a lesser chance of causing a negative impact if community members are willing to address the issue calmly but directly, which you both did.
Some good news for you guys struggling with Mental, @spark jewel is going to be hosting Monthly AMA's for mental health (this is on top of the 1HP AMA's). If he's available he might be able to answer some questions you might have in this channel as well.
@lone heart Any of the 1HP People in this channel might be able to help you out (if and when available), otherwise attending these AMA's is highly recommended!
@open garden did a great job responding at the scene, and kudos to the mod team for following up so thoroughly. @lone heart you might find the @spark jewel AMA that Sini’s talking about helpful, I know the 1HP AMAs have been really good in the past.
Depression sucks but just know you’re not alone
i dont think this has ever helped someone
tbh true
just that sentence alone? probably not, but reaching out to people and talking to them in more depth definitly does
naaah naah
i believe that when u are depressed, that u should find a solution on ur own and become stronger, cuz that solution will most likely help u out for a loooong looooong time, meanwhile talking to someone only helps for a short amount of time
having another perspective on your situation can be very helpful, if you cant find the answer yourself. keeping your problems to yourself and not being able to find an answer is literally the reason, why people commit suicide.
when depressed, its harder to have clear thoughts and come up with the right idea to fix it
xd just fix it
thats not how this works. There are a metric fuckton of reasons why a person might be depressed, not all of them are ones that you can just 'fix'. Reminding people they are not alone, providing support and talking to them is not a bad thing in the slightest.
Finding and treating the source of one's mental health issues is not mutually exclusive with receiving support and acting like it is can be incredibly detrimental as you are effectively telling them to not seek help and just figure it out on their own.
XD JUST BUY A HOUSE
just go to the gym
fix this ratio
Any one have any tips on shoulder pain after aim training awhile? Tips to increase the endurance?
I don’t know much about it but I feel like talking to someone may be able to speed up that process of finding your own solution by them giving helpful tips
shoulder pain often relates to bad posture. you use the wrong muscles to do the movements.

A common pain (#2 issue) PC gamers are feeling with the arm and shoulder controlling the mouse. This is a discomfort the legend "Rambo" or FPS COACH felt at times along with many of the players I have worked with. This video is to bring awareness and help you understand how to manage and treat the pain!
The video will feature Ron "Rambo" Kim ex...
This video can help with anyone who has shoulder pain with gaming or even neck pain. It helps to address some mid-back mobility and work on key muscles at the shoulder allowing us to maintain better overall shoulder positioning and relieve any pain associated with arm aiming.

I have some forearm pain after a long amount of consistent training + games
its not intense but it doesn't feel okay
keeping it minimal and taking abreak now
@lone heart I didn't read the whole convo but 1HP has their own website too with private help online, I'm not sure if you have access to a payment method though
Or you could talk to your parents in a sense that's not video games but interfering with other aspects of your life like school
I really advocate for the use of massage to get strain out of those muscles btw, it can help a lot
A lot of the muscles you use for aiming attach at the elbow, try bending your elbow about 90 and massaging the spot right above the bone, on the outside, where the pink is in this diagram
Holds a lot of tension when you use it a lot 🙂
that's useful thank you
i appreciate
What is this:
-Fatigue
-Shortness of breath
-Pain just under chest & pain in center/left of chest
-High blood pressure (140/85)
Is it something harmless or something harmful?
Pretty sure that's the kind of thing you should ask a doctor
You are the doctor?
Man my google says Imma have a heart attack
Im need reassurance its ok xd
Don't ever google health things on google because it will always tell you the worst possible answer
Or at least, take it with a grain of salt. It could be any number of other things, even acid reflux can present like that
I have acid reflux?
Shouldnt I also have like vomit then
Hmmm
Well thanks doc
I will see if it goes away
Been like this for couple month with fatigue, but the shortness of breath and pain in chest is new
Maybe I will do test of the blood
Good idea
disclaimer: am not doctor, the acid reflux is just an example
Yes I see. I will do blood test to figure it out
If it not say the truth, I will have to see the doctor
Wouldn't you need to see a doctor for a blood test anyway?
No
I don’t know if this belongs in this server but, lately (last week and a half) I’ve not been able to play games for over an hour without getting tired, nasty headaches and sweat attacks. I have no idea how this happened. I drink plenty of water a day, I sleep for around 8 hours every night. Somethings wrong but I have no idea were to begin.
Are there any other triggers?
just got some pain in my forearm and middle finger from scoping in and out a lot (widowhs). anyone who has experienced this?
Does anybody know how to un stiff myself
I am very un flexible when Trying to stretch before workouts
warm up
Not that I noticed so far
Wdym warm up
Just means, you overused the muscles. Build more endurance by doing according exercises
That's what stretches are for. You are unflexible, because your muscles are shortened.
Even like day to day I still feel un flexible
Keep doing them. It's a progression thing, you don't get to perfection over night. Also make sure you do them correctly
Also you will undo some of your work throughout the day. If you keep up the bad habits, you won't progress as fast if at all. Even while sleeping, some muscles can get shortened. If you sleep on the side for example, you put a stretch on your rotator cuffs, while your chest gets shortened
I have been doing stretches for the last year I would like to say I do them with basically perfect form and idk how I sleep but I always got to sleep sleeping with my face looking upwards and I wake up looking upwards
I don’t miss out on sleep I sleep 8 hours everyday
You should feel better tho after stretching. If you feel unflexible before that, it's OK. If it's still there after it, you might be doing something wrong.
Also stiffness comes with overuse, so building endurance can help there aswell
You can also try massaging these areas. A tennis ball or fascia roll can be helpful with that.
Can you go a little more into detail?
Since I put so much preassure onto myself, and self critisive myself too much that I just get all depressed.
cant really explain it idk.
Self-criticism isn't a bad thing in itself. It fuels your will to improve. What is important, is the wording. Instead of saying: "I'm so fucking bad" you could say " I know I can do this better". Instead of thinking about a situation negatively, find a way to word it in a positive way. Also praise yourself for things, you did well.
If you go negative on yourself every time, you gonna lose confidence
If you have no confidence in yourself, you will struggle to improve

Main thing is im too self critical, like I know I can improve and just eugh.
@uncut kernel thanks!
I have this issue when wrist aiming when my wrist is as far left as it can go and I begin rotating my wrist back toward the right my arm and aim becomes shaky. It doesn't happen from the other direction and also I have been aim training for about 2-3 weeks now and have just started experiencing it recently. Any advice?
just curious if there is any posture issues with sitting on my chair with my legs crossed, like just pretty much ankles are crossed
A consistent time of 1am to 9am is still correct sleep right? I still feel super slow and tired in the mornings though, it takes me a long while to regain cognitive ability
I believe there have been studies into whether sleep between certain hours gives higher quality
Not 100% conclusive, but results indicating that sleep around 10pm could be more beneficial. Might be something to try if you feel fatigued in the way you describe
you mean like this on the left?
^right side hurts me
now
root of my pinky kinda dying
even if i consistently stretch
Try not eating fat from tree. Seed oil etc n see how u feel?
In terms of longevity and overall QoL, is a higher sensitvity worse health wise. For example I am currently sitting at approximately 28cm/360. Is this too high of a sensitivity for long term use? I already use a mouse for about 6 hours a day before I even get home to play games (IT Work etc) so I am curious for opinions. Would I be better off using a lower more arm focused sensitivity as I have no delusions of going pro.
that's already a good sensitivity for most cases
how to improve longevity of your hand:
when your hands begins to tense, stop and readjust
easy to say but hard to do
but if you are able to do that no matter what sens you use, your hands will thank you
just don't use extremes of highs and lows
Ah ok thanks
Is there any benefit to isolating forearm exercises? I know its a small muscle group but I am curious if there are any tangible benefits for aiming
ive been having this issue for months now and just now realized what's it called (maybe) but i literally feel this https://www.calmclinic.com/anxiety/symptoms/foot-discomfort when i play comp in valorant, even in deathmatch, its so annoying and sad that i feel this like i just want to play, but i think too much, i just wish this stops
i just randomly think about things that i know don't matter like crosshair placement, the speed of how fast i move my mouse from a to b, if i pop off one round, i think about it too much, and realize if i keep thinking about it, i'll do bad the next rounds, and then it just continues because i overthink so much,
it sucks because i know im good enough (immortal on main), and was playing soo good and wasnt thinking too much a few months ago but i plateau'd and then started thinking too much again and i tried playing on a smurf but i expect too much of myself when i dont do good on my smurf acc and i just play worse
it sucks
How do I prevent my wrist/arm from getting tired. I have tried stretches but they haven’t seemed to help a lot. If my sens or mouse has anything to do With it then I used a razor viper mini at 42cm (overwatch) and hand measurements are 18.5 cm by 9cm
Stretches only help with undoing the stress. You don't build endurance with them. There are specific exercises for increasing the endurance of your wrist/firearm muscles.
With the forearm exercises you build strength/endurance. Overall it will help you to play longer without your muscles getting tired.
Isolating those exercises will help you target muscles, you wanna focus on specifically, like you have pain there/weakness.
Wrist aiming means more stress on the wrist, but the same goes for arm aiming and the shoulder. Since the wrist can take less stress, people sometimes consider wrist aiming to be unhealthy/worse options. That doesn't mean, you have to switch sens tho. Training the according muscles to build endurance and stretches to undo the stress will help you using high sens without issues.
How much does caffeine help with training If you consider the factors of having decent sleep because I know it doesn't do shit when u don't
increased alertness, attention, concentration
thats why there are these gaming booster things out there with a shitton of caffeine in them
dose depends on each individual, the more you take, the more tolerance you will build over time.
if you take too much, you can feel the increased heartrate/get shaky hands
I can still sleep after taking 2 cans drinking since I was 11
it depends on how much time there is between the last intake of caffeine and you going to sleep
if you build up too much of a tolerance, skipping caffeine for a bit will reset it
Like 4-6 hours
this is a study on the window between caffeine intake and going to sleep and how it affects you
Will read about it.
#health message also this is what a dietitian had to say about the effects of caffeine a while ago
2 health bars bro
Do you know somewhere I can find some
check out the 1hp youtube channel
Thanks
Ive been waking up with migranes for months they stay until around noon
Is it just a sleep thing or maybe because i havent been working out as much
hey what relation do you know of between sleep and those fats/oils? allergies?
I'm not sure what the article says that the person sent you, but I do know caffeine only works for 1/3 of people.
i've really liked 'rise' this app on ios lately for tracking sleep + showing energy curve
it does show me that it takes a couple hours in the morning to get out of the drowsy phase
it takes me 5 hours lmao
im born to sleep
the 1hp yt channel is a blessing
Bro my sleeping schedule
Im sleeping after school dont do any homework and I wake up to not sleep all night and go to school again

Is there a way to train a nerve to increase sensation? even years after losing it?
let me just quickly become a neurologist to answer that question
have you visited one for your specific issue?
yeah xD I did, otherwise I wouldn't have a right hand^^
I guess I hoped for a miracle here xD Every now and then I am tilted to how I almost don't feel my hand xD
that sucks
yeah, but most of the time idc, you just live with it and luckily I can do almost everything as before.
Yesterday I got reminded that my hand is fucked up, when I tried to use a Claw grip and I really struggled to do so.
but that's just missing mobility, which I might be able to regain enough for the claw grip 😄
I tried playing a while and my hand felt really sore, but I am not sure if this was coming from strain in making moves I haven't done since my injury or if it is just bad for mi hand rn.
I will try to force myself to use the clawgrip until end of week and then evaluate if this comes from strain or just pain
and I know I don't have to use a claw grip, also my scores didn't improve significantly, but I did feel as I have way more control over my mouse
is 20 too old, my average reaction time is 168 and i don't know if that's enough.
-Too old for what
-168 on what test
-enough for what
Too old to get above diamond or higher
168ms avg on human benchmark
enough to achieve that
it's been clouding my mindset since forever
-Im 20 too and Im pretty sure I can get to diamond with a bit of practice
-168 on humanbenchmark is good. Different people’s setups make a massive difference
-it’s more than enough
At 20 you can still learn well
im 16 with a reaction time of 180, so you are perfectly okay. and there are quite a few people that are 20+ with very high ranks on the benchmarks
good to know i can still improve then, thanks for the assurance.
do you folks have any recomendation for a physical activity (exercise stretching) to do in breaks between gaming?
age and reaction time dont matter at all. you can improve your reaction time, but 168 is above average. you improve in a skill/game by practicing a lot (quality prac is important tho, dont do it mindlessly)
is it bad to practice too much? i've been playing valorant (and aim training 1-2 hours a day) every day for the past month. it feels as if my aim and gamesense are progressively getting worse. is it beneficial to take a break for a day or am i overthinking it?
I know some very good aimers in their 30s and 40s. You get the benefits of higher neuroplasticity until about 25, after that you’ll need to be more skillful at learning to learn (but it can still be done). Reaction time doesn’t really change too much until your 60s and is more affected by health, hydration, etc than age.
if the quality of practice suffers from doing too much then yes. you brain can only handle so much. the longer you play without a break, the harder it will be to concentrate and make good decision. when learning new things, you need to give the brain some time to process things. for aimtraining i think you can do about an hour before you get diminishing returns from it.
take more breaks inbetween, do other things like exercising. do the aimtraining after your gaming session, so you dont get tired from it and the brain can process the learned stuff.
cut out some playing time and do vod reviews instead
i could do things like watch pro streamers and vod reviews on youtube once i run out of my own footage too, good idea
My health advice: Don't eat instant noodles all day
I'm 21 and my average is 200ish and I'm almost diamond. Just a matter of persistence
Also vt pattycakes is Jade I think and he's in his late 30s I believe
I'm sure there are old Quake heads in their 30s and 40s who would get Diamond+ easy
VRT isn't everything
Humanbenchmark vrt is the most pointless test in the world
Plenty of people with great in-game reactivity score bad on hbm
Cuz it's just such a removed stimulus
i have >200 ms vrt but in game i react pretty fast
never been a reaction time diff for me honestly
Hi, is it ok to hold the mouse with my fingers sort of leaning to the side like in the first picture, or should I hold it straight like in the 2nd? The titled grip is my natural grip but I'm starting to think it might be responsible for some of the stress/weakness I've been feeling in mouse arm lately.
If it's more comfortable using your way, keep using it.
What's your hand length in cm?
20 x 10 roughly
what mouse it that?
Yeah it's pretty comfortable. Comfort has historically been very elusive for me though. Longer mice are key to my comfort though in general
That's roccat kone pro
which is longer mouse
should be big enough, so you're good
ho is the best tracker
Is it better to rest or play more (to strengthen the muscles) when I'm having pain from my thumb to my wrist on my right hand?
Is it bad to use 3 fingers to click with your mouse instead of 2. What I mean by this is I use my index finger for left click my middle finger for scroll wheel and my ring finger for right click.
Rest. Ur muscles need time to recover and playing more would actually be counter productive if you're already having pain and/or fatigue in ur right hand
Been training for the past week very actively since Friday, it's Wednesday now and I feel so out of it completely, do I take tomorrow a rest day?
Burned out?
Most likely, I've been plateauing on one task in benchmarks that is a matter of me advancing to Plat 2 or not and I'm off by one score, I cannot reach it and it's been tilting me so I do fundementals but I began autopiloting on it
You should definitely take a break
At the very least switch scenarios
It's similar, if not the same as, when you're studying for school. It's better to not study one subject for too long.
+1 I am 32.5, sleep like shit and still steady moving up the ranks
Someone please drug me nightly
Nah you'll get a bad taste in your mouth+ withdrawal in the mornings, feeling hungover every morning basically
I take something branded medploz idk what's the real name though
what app is that
that's just the Iphone health app
ah, ok lol
all good, I've had an iphone all of 6 months and never knew till last month
I've been a samsung pleb for a long time now
honestly, I prefer my android phones over this so far
only things worth noting; Apple pay and camera.
Ahh, yup. I haven't been following the new features lately but usually it's all the same shit
If I get an apple watch to pair with the phone, then maybe it's better, still way more money overall. I know the apple watch can track more things health wise than just the phone.
lol I've been debating an Oura ring but maybe a meme
yeah very short but it always makes me feel like shit when i wake up for some reason, it takes me a soild 1-2 hours to get back up to speed
I would recommend some strengthening through exercise instead of playing more. It will help you improve faster than just using playtime to get stronger. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JoedUZ4OpPY&t=1s
Give this routine a try.
Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! Sorry, that’s not going to help in the LONG run. These are just methods for short-term relief. I’m Dr. Hwu, and I’m the esports injury doctor. Over th...
not particularly, the only thing I would want to look at is making sure your pinky isn't getting overloaded supporting that entire side of the mouse by itself. As long as your ring finger is helping to control movement to your pinky side I wouldn't worry too much
Definitely take a rest day. Sleep a lot, eat some vegetables and drink lots of water. Half of training is the recovery!
Generally pronation/supination or the tilt of your wrist doesn't contribute a ton to wrist pain. If you're feeling more weakess/stress I would look at how much you're playing lately compared to previously, any changes in DPI, how well you're sleeping etc. before pinning it on tilt
Whats the optimal deskhight?
that's based on your height mainly
I am not so tall like 171cm
Is there a good way to measure?
is that with or without shoes
There are several calculators out there, but it's going to be a range of about 3in which can be a big deal imo.
If you want an exact height, sit down in your chair with your feet flat and measure the distance from the ground to your elbow when it's extended at a right angle.
You can also look into buying a standing desk/ adjustable height desk
^
I will try thanks for the advice
Man I feel so uncertain whether I have diabetes, cancer or heart failure or just a potassium deficiency/thyroid malfunction
Probably getting my blood tested monday
🤔
the trifecta, diet, sleep, and exercise
well add meditation to that as well
some deficiencies causes poor cognition
remove distractions, note down whatever thoughts you have, make a todo list or objectives to accomplish, take breaks
those are the most basic tips i know
can eye fatigue affect focus?
Oh yeah def before i got glasses with blue light protection i couldn't go through the fundementals
lower your brightness and use a warm colour filter
I have astigmatism and im nearsighted i just got my prescription glasses and it has a blue light protection on it to
I was just wondering if i will notice improvement
improvement in endurance yeah
hey so im just coming off on RSI and returning to play, would you recommend getting a brace for while im playing? and if so which one would it be?
What is scientifically proven the best way to learn motor skill?
is there a reason to use supplements or is it preference, sometimes i feel like my brain just slows down
and im not sure why
after a long session of just shooting will just have random moments when i just slow down uncontrollably for a bit then stabilize
usually happens when i go rly fast when shooting
you just getting tired
try to take a break for like 5-30min
mby longer
you can use supplements but the only reason i use supplements (gaming booster) is when i'm tired, f.e. after work or if i barely slept
or you can just blast your favourite music and hype yourself up and than you will get more focused again.
Part of the answer: https://hubermanlab.com/teach-and-learn-better-with-a-neuroplasticity-super-protocol/
how can i work on my schedule and procrastinating, im perfectly fine with sleeping 6h but i just cant get myself out and i just end up sleeping like 10-12 hours and i feel bad for things i missed, that ends up in me missing meals and ive been doing that for literally 2 months and just by not eating breakfast sometimes even lunch (yes i eat once sometimes during the day) i lose 8kg while im already skinny, one of the reasons is probbably that i procrascinate a lot and when i start doing something that should last half an hour i just do milion other things while doing that and i endup not finishing what i started
Might sound funny but getting rid of social media helped me a lot. At some point you just get way too bored of doing nothing so you start to do the good things.
But thats just my experience. I know many people overrcome that by just starting to work on it. It gets in a habbit with some time, just like other stuff.
Idk if this is helpful but this is what helped me to stop procrastination. I would set deadlines that I'd have to meet on a calendar so it forced me to complete certain tasks on time. So for example, if I need to do an assignment that's due in 2 weeks I'll set my deadline for a couple days before the actual due date so that I can still keep up. It's really about forming a comfortable routine and having enough discipline to stick with it imo
And ofc mindset is a big thing. Try to find more positive sides in thouse routine things.
weird question, i play significantly better when i warmup much later in the day than compared to if i warmup at mid morning, example, if i warmup at 10 am i play terribly the whole day compared to if i warmup at 6 in the evening, take a break and then play.
Have spent the last couple of weeks doing the @thorn matrix 3 minute warmup routine before aim training and then 6 minute post-game stretching routine after. Thought it’d be a good preventive measure but now my fingers hurt, my lumbricals hurt, and my forearm hurts around 3-4 inches down from my wrist.
I’d managed six straight months of daily 1.5 hours of training without pain beforehand
So I’m pretty sure it’s the routine that’s doing it; any ideas on how to respond now, and what to do in future to prevent it happening again? Is the routine itself scientifically grounded?
same thing is happening to me
any reasons you think why its happening?
You stretch after 1,5h playing every day? I'm no expert, but it sounds like overkill. If you stretch a muscle too much, it can't do its job either, since a certain length is required to keep everything in the right place. For rounded shoulders for example you don't want to stretch your rotator cuffs, because they are weak/really stretched out already. So it might be better to cut the time on stretches and do endurance exercises instead. Like the wrist warrior routine video has an example in the end of 2x wrist warrior and 3x stretching
There's nothing wrong with stretching in between rounds, during a load screen, etc. You need to try very hard to overstretch yourself meanwhile the benefits of reducing muscle tightness during gaming sessions is tangible.
It’s what they recommend, so it’s what I’ve been doing. I did swap out a couple of stretch routines for their wrist warrior thing on the morning of the next day, but found that was overkill and that my performance suffered for a couple days after.
Any endurance exercises should be done after your gaming session, so you don't tire out your muscles before. They can also recover during sleep. Unless there is another condition for some reason, pain comes from overuse, meaning your muscles can't handle the amount of stress. Maybe you have bad habits, that cause the pain, but it just took a while to negatively impact you.
Again, their recommendation is to do the wrist warrior routine on the morning of the following day - which is why I did it that way. I stopped after doing it twice for fear of overuse, then took a three day break from training before returning to a more limited warmup + stretch routine. But as I’ve said, even that is causing pain.
It’s far too much of a coincidence for it to be “bad habits”. I have been aim training since 2019, and prior to that have did a year of professional training in good postural habits and movement as part of rehab from an injury. Haven’t had any postural troubles at all until I started the 1HP routines. Did get some wrist tightness earlier in the year and took some time off for that - but that’s not at the same sites as the many problems I’m getting now.
That's weird. For me these routines worked really well. Had some terrible pain in fingers and wrist about 6 months ago and they really helped me.
That’s good to hear. Thanks for your sharing your tips - sounds like your regimen was a bit more light touch? You said stretching after aim training was overkill.
which routine did you do? can you link it
Here’s the post-session routine: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=PXkSDfgAHGw

Welcome to one of the first walk through videos I will be making more consistently for the gaming community. In this video I walk you through a series of stretches you can do after a gaming binge or after a couple of competitive games (CS:GO, Overwatch, League, Destiny, Fort-nite, PUBG, etc.)
...
Here’s the pre-session routine: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hsyUH4OIk2w
Hey guys in this walkthrough video I tell you how you can warm up your gaming hands and perform an exercise routine just before your gaming session to help you perform better and prevent injuries. I discuss the three major ways a SPECIFIC PHYSICAL warm-up helps achieve this. Our main goal is to warm-up the muscles you are utilizing most frequent...
Not aimtraining, but grinding valorant for multiple hours a day
You were referring to my original post where I said I trained for 90 minutes a day and then stretched. I didn’t refer to Valorant or “multiple hours”.
The time you play impacts the amount of stress on your fingers and wrist. I didn't care about proper posture and stuff for too long, so I developed pain. For the recovery I used the proposed routine and it worked well for me.
90 mins is less stress than let's says 6-8 hours
Maybe @open ivy himself can help you, since he created these routines.
Hey guys, thanks for the tag. Just catching up on the thread right now.
So first off Fake, glad you have been able to incorporate some of the stretches into your routine overall it is a good habit to include however there are individual things to consider with what you are dealing with now.
In terms of overall load has the intensity or type of training within those 1.5 hrs varied. Has there been an overall increase in difficulty which leads to increased activity, etc. Also are there things outside of the actual training itself that you have started which may have led to increased overall loading of the wrist & Hand?
It looks like you've started the 1HP routines. The stretching & warm-up routines are not high load routines but if there are changes overall with the questions above it could be contributing to it. These routines are focused on performance / consistency (warm-up) and recovery (stretching). However for preventative measures its important to work on some enduranced-based exercises as some have mentioned. LastSamurai touched on all the points we reference in our content about appropriate timing and when to perform the strength / endurance exercises (1-2 hrs separate from when you are training or after training to avoid performance deficits as you are utilizing and fatiguing those same muscles)
Overall if it has behaved as you mentioned with 6 months of training without the routine and you have identified that the intensity or load of the 1.5 hrs has not changed drastically & ensured there was no other activity (lifting more, helping move, using your phone more, etc.) - I would:
-Remove the warm-up to see if that reduces some of the pain a bit due to overload. The stretching routine is very unlikely to lead to the pain unless the stretches are performed to a point where you are feeling discomfort / pain
you can let us know if you have questions! And to touch on whether it is evidence-based or not - these are all based on our education as doctors of physical therapy and practicing clinicians in addition to our research into treating and rehabilitating esports / gaming injuries 🙂
Thanks for the response (and @eternal abyss for the tag)! Love your videos btw.
I’m assuming there must be some user error on my part. Reading your message I can now think of a few hypotheses. One is that I was a bit clumsy with that “rolling fingers” exercise at the end of the 3 min warmup, and started doing reps of it at odd times. It’s conceivably true that might have overworked my fingers. The second is that I performed the adductor stretch on the gap between my ring and pinky fingers a few times before noticing you didn’t do that gap in the video. That movement is sore now, so was probably a mistake.
I’m still unsure as to why the lumbricals might be hurting. But I’ll take your advice and ease off on the warmup routine (but keep the stretching) and see if that makes a difference.
Got cubital tunnel this feels so weird
Thought it was carpal tunnel cause the loss of strength but 100% cubital tunnel
Eblow feels super sensitive
Anyone in here had it before?
I would game without a sleeve and I was getting something like electric shocks above the elbow when I moved my arm from left to right only,
Right wrist is starting to tighten and lose mobility. My right shoulder is sore after playing creative in fortnite after about 30 minutes to an hour. Is it my posture? Any tips on wrist exercises would be huge!
Did you actually get diagnosed or are you guessing based off of your symptoms?
Guessed... since I was able to regain full hand strength like 4 days ago cause my wrist was feeling sensitive felt like a needle sensation
Now what I felt on my wrist im feeling it on my elbow
Is like a bit of fatige and stretching it feels weird
Wearing a sleeve makes it like 10 times better tho which Im currently using
Dont feel any pain or anything like that
I find it weird that an arm sleeve would help with that tbh since the condition is caused from things such as lifting, pulling, or applying weight on the elbow for too long.
well now would be a good time to seriously evaluate your posture and things that might have caused it
Hello, I am suffering from Cold hands while gaming I tried some of the warmup routines mentioned in the pros but I didn't find any satisfactory results. I am still suffering from cold hands and I am unable to play at my best. I have also tried doing a 15 min Workout session before gaming but still the workout only keeps my hand warm only for a single game. Any help to this problem?
I personally don't deal with cold hands often since I'm in Florida, but from personal experience and what I've read/seen, the pros typically just use hand warmers (the little bags you hold). I've also found that running warm water on them for 15-30 seconds can help out a lot. You could also try using a hot water bottle to keep warm and they are fairly cheap to buy as well as being cost efficient.
Thank u for your advice I will surely try using hot watter bottle to keep my hands warm
do you have anxiety while playing?
Not really I play the game for fun
.
1hp YT has routines for stretching/training. Bad posture can definitely impact this, since your body will adapt to it by using the wrong muscles. Soreness means, the muscle is fatigued, so building endurance can help you play longer. For the wrist the wrist warrior + 6min stretching routine should be helpful. For posture there is a shoulder and full body routine.
You’re the best bro
Ty
if i sleep 6 hours, wake up and then fall back asleep for like another 2 hours, would it be the same as a full 8 hours of sleep?
Has anyone else have muscle soreness after first starting flicking?
Anyone have any good recommendations of yt vids that I can send to my 16 year old sister to make her stop trying to drink alcohol. She’s saying that her friends can drink so she should be able to as well (for context). What can I recommend that will scare her from drinking. (Preferably one of those video case studies on a person who drank alcohol and became a vegetable or something that shows the effect (in numbers) on brain function that alcohol has) ty
seems very specific to a chubbyemu video
but it's likely not gonna be someone who drinks once in a while
anyone know of an app thats kinda like a journal where you can track things like what you eat and how many hours you slept for and how much water you drink that has time slots on it so i can put like what time i woke up and such
as far as a diet app, macrofactor is the best on the market. as far as sleep tracking, most apps I've seen have dubious at best accuracy
You can buy a sleep ring that has higher accuracy than any app.
Might be a little bit graphic but u can try Institute of Human Anatomy's vid. It isn't really a case study but it's a 30 minute video on what alcohol does to the human body in depth
Low vitamin D ( 23 nmol/l = 9.2 ng/ml )
😦
high total cholesterol (7.1 mmol/l) & LDL cholesterol (5.5 mmol/l)
Eyes fatigue u need to consult to get some rest glasses for ur eyes
I just do eye training
I trained my eyes for ONE WEEK! Did it help my aim? (Aim Guide)
In this video I talk about eye training in video games. I go through four exercises everyday before getting on and give you an in-depth look on how they helped me and what they are all about, what they have to offer, and show my progress from before and after the video. If you stru...
The only reason this wouldn't work for people
Is people who have 20/10 eagle vision
and perfect eyes
for everyone else
this is god tier
did this for a month
and it was incredible
I went from tunnel vision
to being able to use peripheral vision properly
I had my eyes checked before this as well and I have trouble seeing long distance
make sure your eyes aren't drying out, drink water and remember to blink. i'd get really bad blurry vision while trying to hold angles when iw as wearing contacts and my eyes dried out faster
First thing I do when I wake up
Is full mobility stretch
gym, cardio, eye training and 1hp 3 min kovaak warmup
then I play fundementals
Then I play valorant for 8 hours
Something that is overlooked alot is eye cleanliness. If u wear contacts ur eyes can dry out from bacteria buildup under ur eyelids so just be sure to clean ur eyes and keep ur hands clean. If the problem persists, I would see an optometrist to be safe.
Well regardless it's still a good idea to keep ur eyes clean as bacteria can still build up
thats cool, didn't know about this, thank you for linking it
I'm awful at the schulte table
hey man, just watched this video earlier today. thought it was a pretty well made video and got me interested to try it out. seen ottr mentions eye training as well.. figure i might as well give it a go because I have a lot of trouble keep track of the target during things like fast strafes and a quick change in direction. have you noticed a drastic improvement in being able to read targets during strafes and especially fast strafes?
I have noticed my peripheral vision get way better
And I have always been good at reactive scenarios
So I can'
can't really tell u since I didnt track progress
probably 1 or 2 hours
why do i seem to be the most active at night, talking fully cracked but i maintain full sleep for 7-8 hours every night
then i feel super tired during the entire day
Do you eat and drink well?
Assuming you do, some people are just more active towards the end of the day
That's how I am
if you mean by routine how and what i eat at the time no, but i do eat properly yeah
i seem to have the most energy at 12am and that actually gives me trouble sleeping
When do you normally wake up
9am
eye training for 1 hr or aim training
What real life things could affect my focus, today i whiffed so many shots because i was looking at the screen but i wasnt focused at all and like when u look at the one spot and all u see is blur since your mind is on who knows where, had ton of those moments today while bascially moving in the game
General lethargia, sleepiness, headaches, all can def be causes
how do you feel, health-wise, when playing?
kinda exhausted and like im not conscious about what im doing or what im about to do, i have been missing and playing out things that i wouldve hit if today i played fps first time
How many hours of sleep are you getting? Are you drinking enough?
Could be as simple as this lol
ok i sleep enough but i noticed that i havent even touched water today, like its 1am almost and since i woke up i havent drinked any water and for some reason i dont feel a lot thirsty
Even if you don't feel thirsty, drink
Your body needs water regardless
Water is nourishment for the soul
Start with that and go from there
bullshit
you dont need to drink a ton of water
dont be dehydrated or thirsty, but the idea of drinking X amount is so ungrounded in science
Well, technically speaking there is an ideal amount of water to drink per day, but it's not a one size fits all situation.
So if you've heard the "drink 8 cups a day" that's one that's not true at all
Just drink water when you eat and you should be fine tbh
When is it a good time in the morning to take caffeine, like how many hours after waking up
not enough at all
it all varies with exercises, movement and what you're doing
you want 2 cups of water every 2 hours at least
if you want to be rly healthy
it shouldn't change your performance maybe keep you more awake
tea also works
what is this based on and how big are the cups?
any sort of liquid
plastic cup idk @pulsar niche
general science and personal exp, to me if your pee is white like water means you're good on water ive had issues with not drinking water before enough
my skin cleared up a bit by drinking more water than basing it off my thirst alone
so yes there can be some benefits drinking more but i didnt experience any cognitive improvements
usually only feeling more awake, if you dont eat or anything its usually used as replacement but yeah nothing cognitive I've noticed
ur better off drinking few cups of tea every day
for vitamin benefits
4-3 times
i dont think tea has much vitamins at all unless its something that has added nutrients
tea keeps you awake as well
green tea specifically
water is useful for brain function, aka if you're learning alot such as aiming i believe it to help think better about anything and everything
i know that if you drink water before and after sleep it can help wake up better and easier aswell
little stuff like that
this is complete bullshit btw
unbacked by science
u dont want clear piss either
also, caffeine content is actually really varied among tea type, it seems to be more down to the individual cultivar rather than the post harvest process
greens arent inherently higher in caff
perhaps, but there is no downside
no
if able to, and it feels right y not
lots of vitamins are water soluble, excess water will wash them out and reduce absorption
i had a vitamin b12 issue even tho i didn't rly drink a lot of water
but did consume a lot of food
i personally drink like 2-3 big cups a day if i can, but i don't force it or consistently do it cuz i drink other liquids
tea or (gfuel)
It kind of is tho, unless you’re also drinking a diuretic and not eating enough.
You really don’t need to be drinking tons of water all day when you aren’t thirsty
I would prolly drink more than only when you’re eating
But making yourself drinking 2 cups of water every 2 hours is a bit much tbh
Like just carry a water bottle and drink when you’re thirsty and you’ll be good
i mean its average, not a must every day, depends on activity and heat
drink when ur a little thirsty or having a meal
its rly not that hard
more if its hot, a lot more if ur active
but ur body is pretty good at letting u know
Anyone know some good remedies (like drinking water) if your eyes is just tired but you still want to run with the boys
You mean like eye fatigue?
yeaa
You could do some really basic eye exercises which would help loosen them up; I also use some eye drops to help a bit too.
that too
yea i do
ill give the eye drops a shot, thanks g
I’m curious if anyone knows how long is a good time to wait water eating before playing games again.
I know food comas are a thing and that your body prioritizes blood flow for digestion, I’m just not sure how long that typically lasts.
depends hugely on what u eat, how much u eat, and just how ur body deals with it
best answer is to try and be aware of how ur feeling and decide for urself
hmm ok
I've only ever heard of a couple hours break after you eat before exercise, so I wasn't sure there was a difference or not
well I guess 1-2 hours break
wasn't sure if anyone knew any science on how long it takes to typically digest or at least have the blood flow reduced so it's not impacting performance
1-2 hours seems lohg
long
to me
unless its a huge meal
or like a really high fat slow digesting meal
i usually start lifting around an hour after i eat my breakfast/pre workout meal
sometimes less
u can probably start gaming even earlier since u wont have to eat as much
feel it out for urself
see how u personally perform with different waiting intervals
I don't eat a lot overall, and when I do I get sleepy af. So I might be on the latter side and take longer
When i came back from family after christmas i have some problems with my tracking. I see my hand is more shaky as usuall and i dontknow why. I have so bad scores than my previous one's. I feel like i cant be smooth and i dont know why. Any help? :/
you took a break, you're just rusty. don't catastrophize, give it a couple days or a week and you'll be fine

Pretty useful AMA today in couple hours
i get discouraged with every day because i see people around me rapidly grow meanwhile i feel like i'll never keep up and get stuck behind, some might say to take off days, but i push my tasks to the end of every day, 5 times a week, i dont end up doing any dedicated tasks either for improving specific techniques and i get stuck on tasks restarting because i get bad starts that i know will lead to stagnation of improvement up to 15 to 20 minutes at a time, and i take Saturday off after the benchmark day. if i were to take more days i'll just end up completely stopping and not training any further because i'll "push it for later"
and how am i suppose to cope with the fact that i'm supposed to not mind that i'll be underperforming and not getting close to my high score during the week because i'm only "training" and performance doesn't matter, and then on the weekend i'm suppose to excel and do exceptionally well in order to set myself a higher standard and routine
First of all, stop restarting scenarios. It's just bad for the mental and throws you off, its much better to just keep going forward and rolling with it. Not entirely sure what your schedule is tbh from the wording of it but it's not super complex, or rather it doesn't need to be. All I do is some basic warmup, play my game, then at the very end of the day before sleeping I do fundamentals.
i train sunday to thursday, benchmark on friday and rest on saturday. i struggle with getting to bed early usually, so i come home exhausted and rest until the evening, where i do my fundamentals and nothing more. i find it difficult to get motivated to start playing right after getting home, because i don't feel prepared
this remains a question in my mind: #health message
If your goal is to get better at a game in particular, play the game more. Aim training is a supplement, not a replacement. You don't have to play right when you get home, just take a break, eat, relax and then jump in when you're ready. Just do a quick warmup to get the blood flowing and joints moving. The reason I do the training at the end of the day is because it's very fatiguing for one, so it'll make you worse in game if you do it before and your brain tends to retain and learn things better before sleep.
I'm not entirely sure what you mean by this in all honesty. I've never heard anyone say don't worry about aiming during the week and then excel on the weekend, that's kind of weird to me at least.
so what should i be telling myself when i dont perform well when i train, because it's either me not performing up to par or me trying too hard leading to me restarting to get good scores to maintain somewhat of a consistent score line instead of the huge dips that occur in the couple first times i do a task
The biggest thing is to learn to accept you can't be 100% all the time
We train and get better so even on the bad days we can still out perform others/ have a higher baseline. It can be hard to not restart when dealing with the mentality of wanting a perfect start, but you're just hurting yourself the more you do it.
Everyone has bad/off days, but if you just put as much as you can into each training session it'll pay off in the long run. Your training is only as impactful as the work you put into the training itself. Similar to if you don't study well for a test, you're not going to do very well on it or remember much of anything.
While the long term goal is to be better and reach your desired peak, you need to have the mentality of improving
If you want to take a listen to this video it might help you as well. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SIOEi7cx3J4&list=PL84ka3FdWx8lJ5cLUO6JdwK10MTY5qSUX&index=12&t=1016s
In this podcast I talk about the "champions mindset"; a term that I use to encapsulate a few different behaviours that are beneficial in creating a robust foundation to becoming a better player. I go over how we identify issues / change behaviour, outcome orientedness, emotional relationship to the game, adversity, framing and consistency.
...
i'm a perfectionist with anxiety and ocd, so i demand of myself only the best and beat myself over underperforming, and if i try to compare myself to others my self image and sense of progress gets destroyed because then i constantly set myself a higher bar that'll never be satisfied- i've been trying to avoid comparing myself to others, particularly to a friend who's been exponentially improving, but it keeps happening and my mood takes a nose dive because then i realize how far i am from others' progress. most of my days feel suboptimal because i feel like i'm chronically tired, and i keep delaying my routine so late, and even get distracted mid training, to the point where i finish a 60 minute playlist within 2.5 hours at 1 am. it's hard to find a direct purpose besides "get better down the line", because i don't feel satisfied enough over incremental progress, which sometimes takes weeks to even show
I'm right there with you on all accounts my man
I'm aware how hard it is with all of the conditions to focus and not beat yourself up. I struggle with it on a daily basis myself in all honesty. It's such a draining mental battle but sometimes you have to know when to step back and reflect and just take a break. Don't over push yourself because doing so will actually inhibit growth, but also don't be afraid to push the limits a bit as well and not under push. I started about 2 years ago (maybe even longer) and I've started and stopped my own journey several times due to lack of motivation and not being good enough. I'm well aware that saying "Just keep pushing it'll all come in time" doesn't really make you go wow you're right I'll just keep doing it and strive to be the best me I can, however it really does take time to see improvements.
It's also ok to just not do it everyday, I've had several days lately even where I just don't do the fundamentals simply because I forget or I'm too tired and planned poorly. My ADHD in particular I think makes me very unaware to time and it's depth.
i have a habit of being a lazy piece of shit, so if i miss it once i'll end up completely abandoning whatever i was doing within a week or so, so i force myself or get forced into doing it consistently almost daily.
That's how I was in the beginning. I'm still a lazy piece of shit though lol.
If it gets to the point of being ingrained into your daily routine then odds are you won't forget to do so and I think that's a good thing
I'm just terrible at adding anything to my routine
I'm not sure how long you do it on average but try not to go much over 1hr and 20 min I'd say.
Focusing can be hard obviously, but the more you can focus on it the better it'll be. So if you find yourself losing focus too much and alt tabbing to do something else, just take a break and come back or pick it up the next day.
i have this shaking issue, and i'm honestly not sure where it comes from or how to stop it. it's not lack of mouse control, i have this issue even when i let go of the mouse. the shaking in my hands is prominent but i can also feel my entire body shaking and my teeth chatter if i don't try to keep them closed.
are u cold
no
i don't believe so
my legs also feel like they're gonna give out when i stand up
yeah i'm definitely not cold, i'm sitting under a rly warm blanket and it's abt 70 degrees fahrenheit in my room
im out of my element that's my only advice. if you really shake that much it might be a nutrient deficiency, I dunno tho.
i appreciate it nonetheless
It sounds like you’re not giving your body enough energy to maintain itself
Any idea what part of my posture is causing me upper left shoulder blade pain?
people tend to shake when they are undernutritioned, or (my case) when they get a fever. It was 25 degrees celsius in my room and i was under a warm blanket and i shivered
undernutrition is probably it :/ i have an ed so that's probably contributing
probably lol
try adding some high calorie shakes to your diet if its hard to stuff down food
i think I have some recipes left I can find em for you @carmine timber
trust me man in gyms there are people who drink raw olive oil to get their calories you can do anything to get nutrition
it also depends on what you lack the most
there are supplements for different shit, like magnesium, omega 3, 7 and 12, and shakes and snack bars with calories
an orginazation for kids who dont have money to eat makes a chocolate bar that costs 15 cents and has like 1.5k calories
eat those like bare minimum twice
and you have ez 3000 calories
and then eat the food you eat normally and u have about 4-4.5k I assume
Recommended daily calorie intakes in the US are around 2,500 for men and 2,000 for women. The brain uses around 20 percent of the energy used in the human body.
What does hand pain/fatigue in this part of hand mean
wait i think i can help there one min
@north oriole i mean i don;t have any deficiencies, i got blood work done last week and everything came back fine
nvm i cant
how does ur hand shake
not just my hand, my entire body shakes, my hand shakes like left and right i guess?
ok one sec
ok Dehydration, and your body fighting off a viral infection are the most common causes to shaking. Your body shakes to warm up and kill the bacteria and dehydration just makes u shiver
however you only shake when u dont use ur mouse, right?
i shake when i do both
when i spend a decent amount of time aiming it happens more
i'm not sick at all and i've had this issue for a couple years
well i think thats just you getting tired I suppose. BUT i'm not a doctor so maybe go to your doc and ask for advice. Idk how much it costs with na healthcare
the price is up to god tbh
damn. do you feel unwell and 'feverish'
aight then my take is that its dehydration. How much do you drink after a session of kovaak/aimlab etc.
or in game aiming
not
at all lol
i just drink water during lunch and during dinner
and sometimes after dinner
damn
i personally drink every 45 min to 1,5 hrs
not really much
just one or two sips
and when eating my meals i drink way more than outside eating
do u drink shit like red bull or energy drinks in general
or coffee
never in my life
then for starters i reccommend that you take a bottle of water and put it on ur desk
and whenever you feel thirsty just drink a little bit
it's okay !! i appreciate the effort :))
thanks! have a nice day
u too :)
Hi all, just wondering
Is there any specific impacts that mental conditions, let's say, ADHD can do on one's performance?
I've been paying attention to my mental health these past few months and have been seeing a therapist on campus, but I've been speculating as to whether some of my behaviors indicate ADHD, and whether that has any impacts on competitive gaming
adhd might have an impact on your concentration
but if you really like the game ur playing that will happen rarely
i have adhd myself and i dont have any issues tbh
idk about other mental conditions tho
I like playing Apex, but often times I’ll get flustered and get confused in ranked, which rly impacts my concentration and sends me into a flustered death cycle more often than not
it’s only times when I’m playing with my best buddy and have no reason to care(e.g. playing in Silver lobbies) that I feel like I become Faide or ItzTimmy
do you get like confused and space out?
thats happens to me too
especially in tense situations
i did neurotherapy a year ago and it helped me concentrate
what i do is just tell myself: focus on the game focus on the game
like try to force urself to focus
and then it will happen more rarely
Lmao I try but sometimes it doesnt help at all
when I was in elementary school my parents gave me a pill of omega 3 to focus better. Dont take these pills unless u need em. ask ur doctor if u can gain something from taking those.
I tried taking B12 supplements for energy, and i think those helped slightly
Idk if i was playing with a friend but I might take one in a bit after lunch
And after my neck spasms stop
Lmao i blame my pillows
I’ve been having lots of trouble last night trying to sleep because of how shitty my pillows at home are
The one at my dorm is like my best buddy
ive been meaning to improve my gaming posture for a while, but its discouraging when i see my kovaaks scores go down when i try to change. does anyone have experience to say whether that dip is temporary or not?
Yep, felt that
Tried to get back into KovaaK's after college and my scores dipped after the first day back
Don't worry about it, we all have days where we don't do as good as we hoped
Adjustments take time
the optimal amount is between 7-9 hrs. I personally think 9 hrs are better
Sleeping for too long appears to not be associated with the best health outcomes either
https://doi.org/10.1093/brain/awab272
where in your elbow? look up golfers elbow and tennis elbow maybe. there's a lot of stuff going on in your elbows, that could describe a ton of stuff
did it help?
um,,, not rly? maybe though, i'll look at it over a couple more days
okayy
About there
A little in front of the actual epbow
im no physiotherapist, idk. think those are your mouse clicking muscles though, if it's on your mouse hand. try this routine maybe, it has a few things targeting those forearm muscles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzjOCYkn8mY
I'm back guys with another routine to help keep your guys's wrist and hands healthy. This routine is a little different as it is a FULL injury prevention routine! It involves the following types of exercises:
- Self-Massage
- Stretching
- General Coordination
- Strengthening and Endurance
The purpose of this routine is to keep your wrist/ha...
Alright
Thanks
I do think it's also where I put my arm on my desk
That may be part of it
That's a cool routine but I still have the soreness
do it for a week and see how it goes. there will be instant fix for this lol
most injuries like this will take months if it's a real injury
Should I not aim train until the soreness goes away
It's like the soreness you feel after a good workout
You could aim train but as soon as u notice that it hurts your arm stop
Can be both, especially if you do grip heavy exercises like pullups. Scroll up a little there is a video to a routine for your forearms. Do this together with the stretching routine and it should get better.
The pain comes from overuse of muscles in most cases, so training endurance and stretching to undo the stress will help
@eternal abyss Okay ty☝️
The side of my wrist hurts alot what do I do

Wrist pain is by far the MOST common complaint I get when I work with pros and gamers. And the first thing they often encounter online are resources telling them to rest, brace, just do stretches! Sorry, that’s not going to help in the LONG run. These are just methods for short-term relief. I’m Dr. Hwu, and I’m the esports injury doctor. Over th...
is there anything I can do to make my aim better in the morning
my arm feels like kinda numb in a sense
pretty sure you just gotta make sure you're actually awake, drink water, maybe eat some grapes or any electrolytes
kk
Do a physical warmup to get your body going. Increasing the heart rate and activating muscles helps with getting more awake and getting muscles ready to do something.
Hey guys, in this walkthrough video, I walk you through a full warm-up routine to help improve your mouse control before you get into your mechanics routine. It is specifically designed to warm up and target the muscles crucial for mouse control (shoulder, forearm, fingers, etc.) As usual, here are the timestamps:
0:39 Pec Stretch 1 Minute (30"...
This is what I like to do
how should i be taking breaks during a training session, is there a recommendation or something like that? i was doing the iron fundamentals and my arm/hand felt really tired during the five last scenarios, also i was getting more and more distracted
personally just take a few seconds to shake my arms between scenarios, maybe a few quick stretches but nothing major. after a week or two you'll probably build up more endurance and won't have as big an issue.
How long do you train
...spite isn't a good motivatior, is it
I meant in hours
That's quite long.
For endurance muscle wise you can do exercises to train them.
90 mins is quite long, most people consider 60 mins as breakpoint these days.
You could split it into 2 sessions or take like a 5 min break after 45 mins, where you stand up
If you can't focus anymore, you won't get returns from it.
Because you will start to autopilot
How can I fix my mentality to tell myself that I will improve and become better my mentality atm is really awful and I’m just hurting myself more I think at this point
I think you just gotta remember that improving takes time, and you might not see new high scores every day. Just gotta remember that as long as you practice, you will improve. It doesn't matter how fast you improve, or how good you are compared to other people, just focus on you (:
Thanks so much I’ll try to do that !

Thank u
It means a lot that ppl are helping and I’m sorry for the weird post I had a awful mental breakdown that I’m getting fixed with by friends and family thanks again for those who help and I’m sorry for the worries Iv causes
TLDR detach yourself from evaluating yourself, the misses and hits etc, and just try to hit the next shot
@violet swan No worries man we’ve all been there
Thanks
Hi, i have a weird question for ya. Do you know the hand strike technique in sport ? Like the moment when the person use the opposite leg to make hit faster and etc... So i have that kind of movement but it's an issue in aiming. To get mouse faster up or down i sometimes reflexively use that leg impulse. How to fix it ?
hey, how important is it to go to bed at the same time every day? and how much deviation would be okay?
I have really bad posture and when I try to sit with good posture it feels like my body tenses up, anybody know why and how to help this?
thats normal when u sit with a bad posture for a long time, gotta strengthen postural muscles and get used to good posture
a proper chair will help a lot too
Gosh help, I am always waking up at 11:30 at night no matter when I sleep
is it bad that my body heats up as i aim train? i have ac in my room but i feel my body getting hot inside
yes its super serious watch out that you dont boil dry
its just increased circulation most likely nothing to worry about
stay away from screens at least 30 minutes before sleeping, no caffinated drinks a couple hours before sleeping either. try and fill the 30 minites with something like reading or even just getting ready to go to bed, have a shower, get changed etc. you could also do some cleaning in the time as it would help to tire you out some more while also keeping your house nice and clean :)
your desk should be inline with your bellybutton as this is allows your elbow to stay at a 90° angle most the time, you can either buy a desk at this height or adjust your chair height
not touching no, but you should be able to draw a straight line from your desk to your bellybutton. how far away you are Is just whatever feels comfortable
Got a large issue, so ive been kovaaks aim training for about 16 days now and i usually do like 2+ hrs a day because i actually enjoy it and i dont really play it to necessarily ‘improve aim’ but ive noticed that i think im starting to see some symptoms of carpal tunnel or something because my wrist is getting random dull pains in different spots at night time and i can feel different parts of my hand have some dull soreness for like 15 seconds sometimes in between scenarios in a routine. Not sure what to do right now because i want to keep playing kovaaks because its fun but i am more concerned for my wrist and hand health so i will stop if i need to in a heartbeat? What do i do
Bad wrist posture or keeping your hands/wrists tense for prolonged amounts of time can lead to many issues, for example damage to your tendons. Make sure to move your wrist around freely from time to time when playing, and don't tense too hard. Also keep your wrist straight in its neutral position.
My current gaming chair is inadequate and well, truly awful for comfort and posture (it's max height is also far too low for my desk) Does anyone have any good ergonomic office/mesh chair suggestions that will encourage good posture and provide comfort for reasonable periods of time? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
does it matter to play with lights on/off in the night?
idk if this is the right chat but i feel like my the texture of my hand affects my aim so much, especially one specific point on the bottom of my palm that i use as an anchor point. to be able to aim smoothly i need this spot to be the perfect texture otherwise the friction between this point and the pad makes them rub together causing ''stuttering'' etc. anyone else with similar struggles.
i have found ways to ''fix'' this temporarily but its still a bit annoying
dont forget to do your stretches. also use exercise to build endurance. the pain comes from overuse. its not carpal tunnel tho
gonna continue training, but I'm gonna focus on the complete stretching routine and more heavily on less 'stress' or tension on the wrist in scenarios. however if the random pain at nightime continues should i just stop using kovaaks?
reduce load or even take off a few days if needed.
you are maybe over training
And you should see a doctor
I'm feeling finger strain after playing for 2 hours, even though I always warmup & stretch, have good posture and take breaks. Could my mouse shape have something to do with that?
I’ve got some uncomfortable irritation in my wrist does anyone know what this could be ?
sound like posture issue to me. if you slump/have round shoulders, you put more load on the neck.
Should i play with blisters? I have 3 big blisters on my fingers.
im not sure how this is related to health
my anxiety spikes insanely high when playing valorant, does anyone have any tips for this? i'm shaking so much and it makes it incredibly hard to play. i have these consistent anxiety attacks during it and it feels hard to breathe too
wait rly? i'm like,, much lower than that
Anyone here deal with cold hands when playing?
My environment is cold, i cant change that.
Anyone have any tips tackling this?
Was thinking of playing with a blankey/towel over my hands
Perhaps you could warm hands with warm water?
I bought a rechargeable hand warmer from amazon, 10/10 would recommend my room is cold as hell but once that little thing gets cranking cold hands no more
tryna practice fast flicks but i feel a minor pain in my shoulder/arm when doing long fast flicks
flicks too cracked for my own good
I've had a problem with my hands very easily getting cold when playing games for years. My room tempature can be anywhere from 19 to 22 C, but I do get cold at all those ambient temperatures when playing. I'm thinking it does have something to do with the stress factor of playing tactical shooters, as the problem is prevalent when playing fastpaced games like valorant or kovaak. I do believe I'm breathing normally, and I do see myself as relaxed when playing, but my hands get icecold when playing. I'm not sure how to go about it. I've searched for articles about regulating temperature in the extremities, but haven't found anything. Although it might sound like bs, this problem has hindered me from making a lot of progress. I'd go as far as saying it's detrimental. My height is 183 cm and my bodyweight is about 81-82 kg for reference.
Been not having the ability to sleep for 2 years now without needed medication, i really wish i could lose the dependacy for it. my sleep gets interrupted without it and the effects of it doesn't seem to work on me as much as it did 2 years ago. when my sleep gets interrupted it feels like my brain is set on full blast and i have no control over it and it's impossible for me to go back to sleep letting me have the shittiest amounts of sleep i could get
that works in the moment but ur hands get cold even faster afterwards
I can't say anything about the mouse, but I recommend you to pay attention to the feeling of your body to reduce the burden. People who concentrate on Aim are often conscious only of the sensations in their hands, eliminating the information sent by their body sensations.
As you play, gradually expand your awareness to include your forearms, upper arms, and torso. It's important to look over your movements and realize that there is room for a little more relaxation. Thus, getting the information to make adjustments will help you learn how to move it more efficiently.
A common pitfall is that you pay attention to your posture and strength for the first few minutes, but then play the rest as usual. You can use a timer or something to stop the practice every so often. Also, when you're trying to break a record, it's especially easy to create unnecessary strength.
Thank you, I will try that!
I know it's better to focus on the target when tracking in general but I literally can't. After switching to a different monitor my eyes seem to burn when looking for literally more than a minute. I turned on and off a bunch of settings, eyesaver, warm temp, etc but I feel nothing it working. I can't switch back either bcuz my old monitor was a 75hz. Will me not having to look at the target directly affect my performance/improvement?
EXACTLY!
i think wearing a sleeve flares up my ganlion cyst a lilttle bit.. should i continue wearing a sleeve or should it be fine
to people having problems with wrist pain
I'd recommend looking at wrist curls
(lifting dumbbells with only your wrist)
obviously with small weights
ever since I started doing them, i haven't had any wrist pain
how do i stop putting so much pressure on myself to do good? i feel like all the time i've spent aiming has to pay off, am i'm always so nervous and shaking during games. it's awful and it makes me play so much worse
i think u should play more and u will stop shaking
i mean i guess? i literally have over 2000 hours in fortnite and i was shaking last night when i was playing
2 other things you could consider. first is, how tight you grip your mouse. if you put on too much pressure, you going to get jittery. second would be breathing. if its your nerves impacting you, learn how to breath correctly. if its all over the place under pressure, you can get shaky aswell
IS it better to play 1h hour straight or doing my routine in 15 or even 30 minute blocks?
whatever you think works best for you, if you find yourself getting too tired before the end of the hour, then do it in your blocks. It's the same as getting better as praciticng for anything, such as an exam, the pomodoro technique is also able to be applied in kovaaks
Try playing some more casual game modes if you can if you're uneasy. As you play the game over time, you'll eventually get used to it, an it'll come more easy
Is shaky wrist a result of bad genes? how to fiux?
what do you mean shaky? whats ur sens
20 cm/ 360, 800 dpi, 3 quake/source
Sometimes my wrist is in some pain and as a result it shakes
my wrist sometimes can't do straight when im lifting something small like 3 pound weights it will slump
slump because of weakness?
i remember talking to you before i was trying to stop you from doing extreme radial and ulnar deviation of the wrist
and get a bigger mousepad
aim more with your arm
i see you have comments from 2020 saying that your wrist hurts, what have you done since then strengthening wise to fix the issue?
because nothing will change if you keep going as you have before, same issues will arise or it will continue to get worse
Yes, i have a large enough mousepad the issue is i think that i curve my wrist too much. I usually do 3-5 pound weights , and squeeze stress balls for extra hand strength.
lower your sensitivity and stop the extreme deviations of the wrist
it requires conscious effort if you have been just primarily wrist aiming for a long time
what should i lower it to? I feel like lowering it will strain it even more
well of course its gonna strain it more if you keep aiming with your wrist
aim with your arm and do the fine movements with wrist and avoid the extreme bends
if you cant stay smooth after that long time on that sens then you have to try something different
or if you suspect you have a health issue/nutritional issue you have to address that
try like 28-30cm
perma fix for ice cold hands?
heater
cardio or if its anxiety related where blood is getting away from your extremities gotta fix that
just be more confident 4head
bro
I feel confident
that's not the problem
but it's more prevalent when stressing in-game
my wrist cracks when I move it in a circle
also after I kinda tense my wrist especially when using kovaaks for like justa couple mins or more my wrist feels all locked up
and it doesnt go away until I push against my palm and then it makes like a deep crack sound
pushing against it like this
lack of exercise? our body warms itself with help of our blood. with more exercise comes more blood supply for the muslces that grow. more blood supply means more body heat in those areas. Although since it IS the hands, which we dont really exercise alot naturally, it could be genetic: low blood pressure constricting supply to the hands, or it could be your genetics naturally undeersupporting your hands with blood. I have the same issue its fucking annoying.
I have literally the same thing. Sometimes it's also my whole arm that I need to properly stretch before it gets unlocked.
how does sleep effect daily life and gaming
Yeah, I should've specified, but it's the genetic factor for sure. My blood pressure is perfect, my cardio isn't perfect, but I've had this problem while I had fairly good conditioning as well. I do exercise my hands with captains of crush grippers, but I can assure you, it doesn't make a difference at all.
How do i obtain diamond without tendonitis
Just stretch every day
How should I ideally sleep for 9 or 10 hours I’m 17
just sleep 8 hours daily with proper sleep regime and ur good
go to bed earlier
As much as you can
how should my sitting posture be for gaming?
is there like a "better" sitting posture then others
but you did mention its more prelevant when stressing in game right? i only have cold hands in similar situations
yup, I'm trying to be more aware of it
focusing on proper breathing helps me a bit but the issue still exists
playing more laid back and focusing on strategies, putting myself in better situations. Taking breaks in-between games also helps a bit as well as focus on breathing
We're the same I guess
yeah
sometimes they're just wayyy too cold though, and it takes half an hour before I'm actually ready to play
because my hands like to get cold again fast sometimes
thats something i also experience, if theyre cold they stay cold for a long time
is diamond worth it over your health? are you playing with pain
my wrist cracks when I move it in a circular motion after a gaming session, is there a fix to this? or some stretches' I could do?
Most of the time im not playing with pain. It's smoothbot when it starts hurting
It will be very dissapointing if i cannot get diamond ever because of hand pain
I just don't want to be that person who progresses so slowly and is still gold in a year
The reason why i trained is to get master complete, not be stuck at the same level
I did not know my hand pain would get in the way
Also, i don't have previous fps experience so being human aimbot is the only way i can succeed against players who are stronger than me
How do i correct my wrist curving? It seems like the source of my hand pain. Also, how do i learn to arm aim for non-large angles?
it takes some time you cant fix it in a day
be mindful and conscious to avoid the extreme bends for awehile
it might feel like you arent as accurate if you are that used to wrist aiming but it will get better
lower sens might help too because doing micro movements with your arm on high sens is likely harder
wow wtf guys been going to beach/gym/sun for 3 dayz and aim+gamesense are buffed by 20%
dis is op
Anyone have advice on getting over performance anxiety? I've failed a lot of clutch moments in apex that I know I should have won but whenever I'm in high octane moments my hands start shaking and my heart begins to race.
if you put your arms on your desk anyway, go remove them
first thing would be practice. the more experience you have, the easier it will be, since you learned how to deal with those situations. for the beginning, the best thing you can do is to learn how to breathe correctly.
https://1-hp.org/blog/foodforthought/how-to-game-under-pressure-reduce-choking/
if its pain just during your session, its probably related to tensing up too much. if its related to overuse of certain muscles, do stretches and endurance exercises
Thanks I'll try this out
Hello
i bought a height adjusteble desk and i cant find a good height. How can i find it?
How we position the aiming arm directly influences our ability to control the mouse and aim the crosshair. In this video, I talk about the vertical height of the aiming arm and how it's influenced by a desk and chair.

one thing i disagree with on the video though is the 90 degree sitting position, ideally lean back by bit to take off strain off your spine
Okay i watched the video, but how can i see that i am sitting in a good position. If its to high or to low?
dont really have an eye for that
just have your forearm parallel with the table or arm rests (90 to 100 degree bend) where you feel the least strain and your biceps next to your ribs
if you really want you can take a picture of yourself but going by feel should be fine
I got a tiny wrist rest to help
Its a small one though so what should i increase my dpi or cm/360 to? How do increase it to something like 20 cm/60 or 30
That video is terrible and not accepted by the aiming community, just make it comfortable and you'll adjust, don't be a schizo about it
s-char
aiming is not a technical skill and the range for optimal technique is super massive and its actually hard to be out of that range so the odds are it really doesnt matter what your technique is and its not the problem
I don't have experience with wrist rests but it prolly doesn't matter, you don't need to change anything

@uncut kernel used that video instead. looked kinda good
when i move right with my wrist i have this almost like,, muscle spasm feel? how do i fix this :/
smoothness scens if you are talking about while aiming left to right, it'll go away with time
playing on higher sens will help with smoothing it out too
for your mouse hand? i think people advocate against this because it puts pressure on the delicate part of your wrists and where the nerves go through from
i dont know why you are so keen to play on high sens, it seems like its a comfort sens for you and maybe the only way you can be accurate is to do those extreme bends with your wrist
which cause you pain and issues
if you cant change that style then learn to reset your wrist and stop doing the extreme ulnar and radial deviations
i mean i did that too, i was very against changing the wrist aiming style because i felt like i lost all the accuracy i had but it only took few weeks to adjust
@pulsar niche Used this one too helped me a lot
Thank you for the advice, it feels weird to play on low sens and i agree that that range is a comfort sens
you feel like you cant aim well without doing the wrist bends?
yeah if its a comfort sens/range for you then its gonna take a bit of effort to get out of that but i would still advise you to at least try it for a few weeks
increase sens to like 30cm or more, do large movements with your arm and the fine tuned movements with your wrist
Im trying it for thin aiming long and stuff so i can get used to it on smoothbot and the like
like its fine to bend your wrist in either direction but i remember the picture from your handcam and it was such an extreme bend
so just dont go that far
I don't agree with it, many top players play on many diff setups and that's not what makes them top tier
can you drop his twitch ❤️
Ever since I got my my monitor (about 3/4 months ago) my eyes have been burning and its really hard to concentrate on kovaaks especially for tracking which I lack in. I was fine on my other monitor but that one is 75hz and now im on 144hz which feels great but the burning really sucks. My eye starts burning more frequently and faster now 3 months later. I try to close my eyes whenever possible but it barely helps. Also starting to gett worried about my eyes getting bad because I feel like I can't see as far with my right eye anymore (which is the eye that burns first, then the left one)
any ideas?
I messed around with f.lux, eyesaver settings, reducing contrast, saturation, rgb values, vibranceGUI, all I could think of
I feel like this is limiting my possible progression by a lot and will prevent me from hitting gmc or even mc
forgot to mention but it also seems as if my eyes have gotten more sensitive to lights.
Aside from changing monitor settings which it seems like you've done already, are you taking proper breaks when looking at the screen? Like are you following the 20-20-20 rule? Have you tried sitting further away from your monitor as sitting too close may cause too much eye strain? If you wear prescription glasses, do they have blue light/anti-glare protection?
Alternatively, have you tried cleaning your eyes? (Rinsing with cool water or saline solution)
From what I can see, you may be spending too much time looking at the screen and not enough time away from it. I'd say try any of the above aforementioned things, but if none of that works, I'd highly recommend you consult with an optometrist for more professional advice
yea my monitor is 23 inches away from me, I've tried eyedrops and what not but it only helps for a good 5-10 minutes. My eyes don't seem to be producing enough tears or wtv because my eyes seem constantly dry now. I also do not have anti glare protection
I'll try taking a break from my computer for a bit
I strongly recommend doing the 20-20-20 rule (20 minutes on screen, focus on something approximately 20 feet away for 20 seconds)
But if your eyes are constantly dry and sensitive to light, that's something that you'd want to bring up with your optometrist as they'd be able to give better treatment options/advice to your issue
Also, remember to stay hydrated!
I'll try, thanks again! I drink a minimum of 5 bottles of water/day so I don't think that's one of the things I'll have to worry about
a lot of top players play in weird positions that arent ergonomic, doesnt make it a good idea tho
its probably a comfort thing for them, they played in that position for such a long time they cant change it
I had a question about tensing hand/wrist/forearm while aiming and was wondering if anyone here has any thoughts about it
I have a bad habit of tensing my wrist and/or hand while aiming (usually tracking) and my wrist started to hurt whenever I used it for a while, stopped using my wrist intensely for a few weeks and its basically back to normal, and while trying to break the habit of tensing my wrist, I find that I tense my forearm more than I did before, is this significantly better/worse than the wrist/hand? And if there other ways that people recommend to break the habit of tensing your wrist it would be appreciated to hear them
also if you respond to this please @ me, thank you
wrist isn't naturally trained by living therefore it's weak, recommend strengthening it with exercises @somber sigil
I use a simple method called wrist curls (you lift a dumbbell only with your wrist) obviously do your research first to not hurt yourself
haven't experienced wrist pains ever since
Try to actively focus on not tensing up during aiming. You want to get rid of the habit, since it impacts both your health and aim progression aswell.
I've recently started doing strength building workout. My aim feels a bit jittery after the workout session. Any idea how exercise effects aim and stability?
depends on the workout and intensity. if you train the same muscles, you gonna use while playing afterwards, it will be harder to keep it up. so for example you train forearm muscles, you have to use them again afterwards for holding and moving your mouse, which is going to be harder, since your muscle are already fatigued. if you do really high intensity workouts (more the case for endurance training) you might get tired afterwards, which impacts your focus. Having to do brain work immediately after a hard workout can be hard, since your body is pumping all the blood into your body, since the O2 is needed there, but then you need it in your brain for thinking.
2 things you can do: either you work out after your gaming session, so your muscles can regenerate over night or you wait a bit after your workout.
i had sam issue and to be honest it fixed itself as i was progressing and working out consistently
really common if you just started keep it up
Health wise but we’re talking performance and it makes no difference
yeah ofc
they are used to being in a certain position, thats why they are performing. bad ergonomical positions will get you into trouble tho sooner or later, if you dont do exercises to counter the downsides
it also doesnt mean you cannot achieve the same performance in a better ergonomical position
although it might take some time to relearn
Would fasting for 20 hrs help me focus better?
only drinking water and no food
or should I eat like fruits or small stuff
I fast a lot due to an ed but in my experience if you aren’t used to the process of fasting you will feel like shit and most likely out of focus. Atleast that was the case for me.
I wouldn’t recommend fasting for such lengths at the beginning anyway, and if you are only fasting for performance in a videogame you need to sort out ur priorities.
💀
If you are looking to lose weight then I can help
performance in general
not just games
depends a lot on circumstance
if ur overall pretty active, i wouldnt bother
if ur generally pretty sedentary, fasting can often have a lot of cognitive gains even if ur not overfed/overweight
doesnt really mean anything
For this
A lot of factors contribute to your fatigue.
Such as a poor sleeping schdule for example.
Look out for other factors in your life that may cause these issues and try to fix them.
There is a lot of research about how fasting can help however you will still need to deal with the other factors, otherwise it will just never work.
Sleeping for 4 hours for example won’t help you focus even if you fast for 20h
ya ofc
my least amount of sleep is 6 hrs but i try to keep it at 7-10 at most
i sleep at more or less same times
i know im lacking vitamin d which can affect it
so walks i guess would help
ya ive been working on that as well, i drink tea, eat fruits, drink lots of water and eat meat / veggies
would having ac on for like heat make my eyes dry faster by common sense or is that wrong
