But I think I saw somewhere it said what’s in green tea can relax you
green tea has pretty substantial amount of caffeine in iirc
It has less then 30mg if I recall correctly
And it has L-the anine so the caffeine gets slow released
As to not spike you
I drink it 1-2 times daily, i really recommend
So I hope that calms me down
It can be pretty soothing
Yeah I think I’m to hyper
add honey to it, and try to buy flavoured if you can
well
i dont think green tea will calm your heart rate down
you want to avoid all caffeine
and all sugar
drink warm milk or something
No no I mean calm my shaking down
Bro 150+ resting?
Last time I checked yes
Need some advice on stretches before playing, or during breaks... anyone know some generally trusted videos or something?
A good one is pinned I think
Oh crap, forgive me & thanks very much
You are forgiven
I've been trying to learn typing but I get an intense pain in my wrist like 15 mins into the practice session
Any advice?
make sure to stretch
ah, so more like a mild to moderate kinda pain
Yeah
oh my bad
can drinking coca cola reduce reaction time on the long term?
sorru i meant if it can increase it actually
i heard you can get better reaction time if u consume alot of green vegetables like laitue et omega3 on a regular basis
Woah!
If you eat all the nutrients everyday and are healthy
You improve faster and have a better reaction time
Thats crazy
Nice
veggies aren't what improves it tho. it's removing the junk
just do calisthenics
no fuckin time for dumbells
that's unless you want to get absolutely yolked
but you can still get fairly toned with bodyweight exercises
tfw 5 chin ups
tfw 3
I could do like 2 half pull ups 4 months ago
It's not that hard to build up to like 10
@bronze rapids unhealthy diet = bad, Coca Cola = unhealthy
Do you guys think if i get like 9-10 hours of sleep instead of my usual 8 my aim will increase more/faster?
well
not really
if you're feeling tired then yeah maybe
but if you sleep 8 hours a night and feel good then sleep hours isn't the problem
8 hours is just a general rule. It depends on what your body requires. Some require more sleep, others less. Also depends on your age; the older you are, the less sleep you actually need, but it's marginal. Hence why babies and toddlers sleep for fuckin 14-17 hours a day.
Reaction time and coordination are only affected if you're sleep deprived, even if it's mild. It won't get better just because you're sleeping an extra hour, as long as you're already getting enough sleep anyways.
So no, there's no need to sleep more. It won't do much.
but i mix robitus
My quality of sleep is never going to remedy itself.
robitussin
i guess
well if you mix caffeine with robitussin youre going to die like jesus
at 33
how dare you
I sleep with a little light in my room
Bcz of anxiety n so on for years already
Does that decrease my sleep quality?
Do i need more sleep than usual?
Pls @ me
As long as it doesn't emit blue light. The light that's displayed from monitors can fuck up your circadian sleep cycle over time. I'm not sure about night lights.
That's why I set my monitor to night time mode.
yeah ive been sleeping with a night light my whole life lol
not scared of the dark just a habit now
i need a bit of light to sleep
but staring at my phone for 2 hrs before bed prolly doesnt help either
@worthy sparrow
4 hours sleep cause of my kids. If you want to stay healthy in body and mind ...don't have kids.
wasn't planning on it in the first place
👍
@zenith rapids what color is your night light?
HELLO HEALTHY GAMERS
I'm aware working out can give you more energy, would you be more energetic before your workout or after?
Depends how long after the workout and how intense it was 😄
Generally speaking I am way more energized and "feeling good" after finishing the workout. But if it was a hard workout this may take 1-2 h after the workout
Gym closed cant be bothered anymore. Gonna be a chunky guy after this isolation
Anyone have any advice for relaxing my wrist? I've finally started to use it more but it already kind of hurts at the end of the day and that can't be good. I can feel myself tensing when I'm trying to really concentrate on small targets and I know that's bad but I struggle to hit them a lot more if I don't
bind shoot to space for a little while, but not long enough u get used to space being ur shoot button
it helps some people
but trying not to tense is usually just a mental thing
gotta be conscious of it
my years of CS made me get into the habit of using scrollwheel for jump
i haven't used space for jump in a long while
but on the topic of working out, not only does working out give you more energy, it'll also make you happier
aerobic exercise has been shown to regulate dopamine and serotonin production
in my experience, I didn't start working out regularly until a couple years ago
@worthy sparrow mine is a light yellowish color
before then, I had no energy, had somewhat of a depression, just overall shitty
exercising literally can lift you out of depression
so energy is really a "use it or lose it" thing
Exercise is good for the heart and makes you look good. However, there are much more compelling reasons to exercise regularly.

lol i was gonna start exercising but now can't lol
@warped wadi you can always start bodyweight at home. Who says he cant rn because of corona is looking for excuses and will look for excuses after the virus thing is over
Yea there's plenty to do at home, look here for a good start: https://www.reddit.com/r/bodyweightfitness/wiki/kb/recommended_routine

are you griping your mouse too hard?
that would be the most obvious answer
when you say uncomfortable
can you describe the feeling more?
like specifically what is it
so theres no tension in your hand/knuckles
do you have clammy hands?
you just feel the need to readjust?
that happens to me sometimes
^ also a possibility
I mean if theres no tension and your hands dont sweat
and you feel uncomfortable while holding an angle
its mental
if you notice anymore specifics
but if there is actually nothing other than you just feeling the need to reposition then its def a mental thing
I blow out on easter each year hard 😆

insane
@violet swan may be a symptom of an anxiety/compulsive disorder or just a minor tic you have
broke my wrist trying to beat a boxer's punching bag record
while drunk
worst idea ever

not exercise, nutrition, posture, or mental health
so uh
literally anything health relateed
let's talk about lifting
Is there anything that would help people build up muscle memory? Like a certain stimulant.. or kinda.
together with aim training obviously
s-musclememory
Muscle memory for aiming is a fad. A player with good mouse control will be able to change their sensitivity and mouse without any significant problems, so long as they don't go into extremes. There can be a noticeable difference, but that's not related to memory, but more related to comfort and preference.
Im assuming you mean smth more along the lines of mouse control, and that is easiest to train in tracking
or moreso it trains the fastest in tracking
any tracking scenarios: with that I mean like close strafes or long strafes or just overall
GG @strange coyote, you just advanced to level 2 !
I would refer you to #advice since this is no longer a health related conversation
and that way can keep channels relatively on topic
alrighty
Using a bowflex to bench
Is annoying
I have no idea what I'm actually benching
And it's not as hard because there's no pressure bringing it down
The bowlflex is decent for legs and back though
just bench ur bed
Bet that would boost your bench
yup
how much does the avg bed weigh?
depends ig
what size and material
and im thinking like the matress and frame and everything with it
so that defo adds a bunch of weight
I have a murphy bed, so I dont thinking benching it would do much for me :>
I think thats how you spell it
i just have some matress and frame from ikea
its sturdy af tho
fkn heavy
like a ton
You could always leave two feet standing of the bed and not bench 100% of the weight 😂
I've been doing some curls, using my kids. They don't know they just think it's a fun game.
Question: caffeine and gaming, yes or no?
Caffeine is really easy to build a tolerance to
So in small amounts, maybe
Building a dependency on a stimulant to play well isnt very good tho
I used to drink a lot of caffeine, I needed it to survive. Nowadays I don't have any on a day-to-day basis.
I think if I had an energy drink or something I'd become a jittery mess
Yes and no
Like aljo said, you shouldn't be dependent on something just to function
I think caffeine is one of those things that are only good for certain tasks
Like working out, or writing an essay, or while at your job
But for aiming and gaming in general, not so much
especially when your caffeine intake is pretty high
Like me personally, I get pretty jittery and can't hit shit on small targets
But for getting better reaction times, sure
So, I'd say use caffeine sparingly
My chair sort of forces me into a half "slouched" kind of position. Is this bad?
yes
yes
sounds like you need lumbar support
never heard of him
also anyone know how important your keyboard placement is in relation to ur mouse
Like is having ur keyboard and mouse far apart bad
or having ur keyboard close or farther away from your chair
if its comfortable and doesnt hurt its ok
@wild grove is that picture accurate
I have my elbow on the table, I sit forward at a 30 degree angle, and sit criss-cross in my chair lmao
I do all of that aswell
also anyone know how important your keyboard placement is in relation to ur mouse
@pseudo owl That doesn't matter much as long as it's not in the way and you don't have to unnaturally bend your hand / wirst / fingers, just comfort
nice i have all of that except COCK
@lime lintel Please no shitposting in this channel
I have my elbow on the table, I sit forward at a 30 degree angle, and sit criss-cross in my chair lmao
@analog jolt The picture is accurate except instead of only your wrist on desk you put your arm, preferably in 90 degree angle with your wrist in neutral position
Keep your elbow floating off your desk, unless you need it for a specific motion
If you always have your elbow on desk you will struggle with verticality
Don't overthink these things though, just because it's not optimal doesn't mean you can't improve and it's definitely not holding you back for the most part
I couldn't imagine having my elbow on the desk
GG @brazen isle, you just advanced to level 1 !
@arctic moat good response ^^
I might put a picture of my posture in here to see if theres anything I can do that Im not noticing
You will unconsciously use your arm, wrist and even shoulders interchangeably, nobody actually actively thinks about which of them they're moving. By not having a good posture however, you will struggle to move them properly.
I do this
@honest river
I've tried to adjust to having my hand closer to me many times but it's super uncomfortable
Indeedyly
LOL
wow, your arm is pretty in there
That's actually fine, just need to move that elbow off your desk in your starting position
It gives you more stability, and that's why you find it more comfortable, because you're used to it
But ideally you should have it floating off at the start and only move it back up when you need that stability
That makes sense - when I don't do it I feel like my aim is all over the place. I play pretty high sens in CS too, 40cm~
I've been trying to focus on untensing my arm and playing with it lower
For CS it sort of makes sense
But it kinda drifts up there as I play
Yeah it's a habit I'm trying to break
You know, another reason I just realized
It's probably a habit because I'm also blind as a bat
I couldn't sit as far back from my desk as @brazen isle does and still see it
@arctic moat so it's not a bad habit that I can't play 40cm with his posture? I always saw that as "proper" posture
You will struggle a lot to make fast motions without straining your wrist
@brazen isle
@queen sail wow you actually have a gaming sleeve
I high-key need one asap
Well it's not necessarily 'bad' posture astral, it's just harder for you to make good vertical motions with your elbow on desk
I used to keep a thin mousepad under my other one a couple inches to cover that space on my desk
well you need to reset a lot probably Ryse
Ahhh yeah that makes sense
I basically copied rapha’s posture but i sit criss cross cause its more comfortable
@queen sail how tall are you?
Huh, I thought the criss cross thing was a habit because I'm too tall
@brazen isle At least try to move it up a little bit more
Interesting
I sit contorted often
At 6'1 keeping my feet on the floor feels so uncomfortable
your arm and mousepad
@arctic moat also yea for vertical movements i use my ftips to extend my mouse
yeah fingertip works as well for that aljo
@queen sail lmao you literally have all my habits, I do the same thing
@brazen isle Idk what you mean?
He's saying he thought having your arm further from your body than he has it was bad posture
I think
This isn't actually bad posture and it being forwarded a little bit more wouldn't hurt either
you don't have that much mousepad space to begin with
More of your forearm on your desk would be better and make more sense since you're playing 50cm
Because you mostly use your arm, and the more of it is on your desk the larger the motions you can make
GG @brazen isle, you just advanced to level 2 !
That's why I suggested moving the mousepad a bit forward as well
?
It's not just for that though, you can also make the motions faster
But it's not that big of a deal anyway
From that angle it doesn't look that bad tbh
The worst would be not having your arm on desk at all and only relying on wrist
What's the best way to avoid injury when working out with weights
My wrist hurts when I use the mouse after some time, what can I do?
warm up, take breaks, stretch before and after
to both^
@nimble cipher @violet swan
GG @clever raptor, you just advanced to level 10 !
proper form, have a spotter during heavylifting
Interval breaks for how long and when?
theres no magic number
~5min every 20-30
1-2 between each exercise
/scenario lul
stretch, please stretch your wrist
once your neck, back, hip or wrists are fucked and they hurt regularly
you don't really have a solution
they will hurt unless if you take a really extended break
ive seen so many people retire from neck/back/wrist problems
you just pray and hope it goes away
correct posture and stretching prevents 95% of it and that's the treatment

Welcome to one of the first walk through videos I will be making more consistently for the gaming community. In this video I walk you through a series of stretches you can do after a gaming binge or after a couple of competit...
i always recommend the second one for post session, the top one you can just mix it in regularly couple times a day
i am having problems with my aim after upper body workouts
what do you do against that ?
It's not normal unless your hand is shaking from the workout
If it's just bad but you don't feel it outside of playing then you're just tired
it is kinda normal
when you have a pump going on your motor control feels different
you get used to it, just make sure you're hydrated and eat something
stretch a little
yeah i am 17 and i had injuries on both arms already so i was never able to do workouts and preatty much every workout is extreme for me
probably thats why it feels weird
Wrist pain will be the end of me
It's too late for me now
Wish I stretched it and took more breaks while playing
same. i'm even thinking of training my left hand to aim 😂
imagine being ambidextrous and using both hands
like if one hand is tired you just switch
and still just as good
i'm mixed handed, so i guess it'd be possible
sometimes i use my mouse left handed and it feels fine, just unskilled in comparison. i hope they release a lefty viper mini
Man “grinding” kovaaks just feels like I’m further ruining my wrist at this point
facts
i just cant untense my arm/wrist when i aim
no matter how much i try to relax
it doesnt hurt yet but ik for sure it will eventaully
ya. thumb buttons on the right side
granted i don't use the thumb buttons while gaming, it'd be nice to not use the middle of my ring finger to press the side buttons
it's weird for me because i don't know if i'm left or right handed
GG @dusk grotto, you just advanced to level 12 !
i just use different hands for different tasks. like if i want to write from right-to-left, i'll just use my left hand
@muted lion how long is an extended break
until you recover
GG @muted lion, you just advanced to level 5 !
could be months
could be years
flash, the greatest starcraft player of all time
had 2 surgery on his arm
one on his shoulder
you regularly see players wear wrist bands so it doesn't pivot more than necessary
hm
cause just recently ive been getting the tingling/shock-ish feeling carpal tunnel(like 3 days ago) and idk if that means i should take a long break, try to stretch as often, or just get a wrist brace
all three
can someone vouch is vinuJ’s words r correcr
stretch often
idk about a wrist brace
breaks are also very good
dont push yourself too hard
someone with the health role can prob know more about the benefit of wrist braces
any advice for constant shaky hands?
I don't drink coffee and often drink chinese tea
used to smoke before the lockdown (1 month +/-)
can anyone recommend me a seat cushion? My chair is too low for my table so my shoulders need to tense up to move my arm properly.
I can't adjust the chair or table height
honestly just relax with the wrist
I got carpal tunnel and rsi a few weeks ago
and couldnt even do anything for 3 weeks
especially during quarantine that shit isn't worth it
damn hope ur better now
anyone know how to increase reaction speed? Im thinking high intensity workouts would help but im not so sure.
@grand sundial adderall, just kidding it just sorta comes naturally dude play some flick scenarios where the enemy will be there for a very short time at first you won’t be able to hit shit but you’ll get there
Yep, just be a healthy lad, along with practice. Also keep in mind that age plays a role in VRT.
tfw 17 with 215-220 vrt
yeah but average doesnt cut it nowadays lol
So it's not totally terrible
But I'm also 26
I think some study somewhere said that human reaction time peaks at 24 years old, then declines after
oh
That's it
Don't know how credible the source is tho
the 6 min wrist stretches by 1hp is extremely helpful
does vrt depend on screen's hz too?
well kinda
I guess
Or maybe not the Hz rate, but the monitor's response time I think
yeah prolly
idk tbh
my favorite
is my avg is 170
but my individual scores are like
140-150 and then 180-190+
on HBM
the lowest ive hit legit was 68ms
that was cracked
and I dont think accurate at all
tf
i dont think thats possible lmao
lowest possible reaction time is 100 ms i think
u prolly guessed on 68
yea
I've gotten some 150s before, i can't do it consistently tho
there mightve been
yeah
prediction

Only if I cheese tf out of it
so Ima say it was legit
😎
I should try w my S2 to see if the lighter clicks = higher score
cause it should theoretically
Pog
poggies
I think someone once posted a 4ms score
bruh
I can tell I havent got enough sleep
Can't remember who tho
when i'm fully alert, i can average in the 150-160ms range. as i get more fatigue it's in the 170s
i rarely even exercise tbh. i can probably improve it
how can i fix my lower back pain? I tried to workout for a little bit but it doesnt help
ask a health expert not a discord of people aiming on weirdly shaped dots and figures
yeah there's a lot of different things it could be
working out isn't necessarily the answer unless you're doing specific corrective things
stretching and foam rolling should be helpful as well but this is the kind of thing you want to talk with an expert about in person
how when is everything closed?
as far as home remedies though I can recommend looking up stretches for the affected area and surrounding muscle groups
and maybe trying a foam roller
pay attention to how you're sitting
see an expert when possible
ok thank you
exzo
@plain solstice
i injured my lower back and had to go through 3 yrs physical therapy
i think i can help u haha
😦 It started now when im sitting a whole day and playing games
posture
put a small pillow where ur lower back is on the chair
and have good posture
yes i did this
Cracking knuckles: bad or fine?
fine
they’ve done studies on it no problem
plus i’ve been cracking my knuckles like everyday since 1st grade
no problems
so far

Guys, my wrist started burning since yesterday after like a 30-60 minutes of gaming
I guess I played too much kovaaks, even tho I did wrist exercises.
What can it be and what can I do?
uhh idk what that would be but id take a break if i were you
for like a week at least
and if it still burns go to a doctor
Yeah, I guess..
Now I need to disappoint my team with these news..
i mean your own personal health is a lot more important than video games
gg
Yeah, my life also depends on video games rn
welcome to the club of wrist pain
do u have it too @oak orbit
yes
It starts to burn after like 30 mins
im gonna have it soon too
Today even after 20
bound to happen
ye
i rlly wouldnt push it desire
my wrist is fucked
Yeah, I will take a week off probably
burning huh
not pinching or tightness but burning
weird
sounds like plain overuse
@worthy cloud when I was playing it was burning
Now I feel tightness
And when I move my thumb
It hurts
@upper glade i have had this
let your body recover it
for a while just stretch and keep hands warm
don’t play for a day, or take it down a huge notch
and sleep well
that’s when the magic happens
There are exercises you can do to help with several kinds of wrist pain, you can also look into something like a wrist brace to wear while you sleep if you encounter wrist pain often
Ok, got it. Thank you guys so much.

Was reading a reddit thread and saw this comment
It is common knowledge among mouse enthusiasts and pro FPS gamers, that wrist aim is unhealthy.
Is this factual?
You have a higher likelihood of developing carpal tunnel if you dont take care of your wrist
Idk if unhealthy is the right word tho
With proper wrist stretching/exercise, not over-exerting it ("playing through the pain"), it should be totally healthy and fine
That's the impression I had anyway
That comment strikes me because I've been trying hard to use my wrist more lately
There are people with a more qualified perspective on this than me
But a lot of quake pros play wrist primarily
Yeah I'm hoping one of the health nerds comments w/ some sciencey info
Health over everything brain body so important to take care of I wish I started when I was suuuper young
my wrist hurts like fucking hell
How we position the aiming arm directly influences our ability to control the mouse and aim the crosshair. In this video, I talk about the vertical height of the aiming arm and how it's influenced by a desk and chair.

is it bad that my arm rest on the chair doesn't reach my desk
I instead have my arm on the desk
yes it's insanely bad you will die in 5 days and your house will blow up
^ factual
happened to me twice
is it bad that my arm rest on the chair doesn't reach my desk
i dont think its an issue at all
I didn't even have arm rests on my chairs for years
they get in the way if you try to play guitar
years ago i struggled to get like 190ms, but the intellimouse has one of the highest click delays
ok 👍
Any tips for better posture over a long period of time sitting
I'm probably sitting like a solid 12-14 hours a day
Get up like every 1-2 hours
And stretch
At least every now and then
And when you're playing you have to actively make sure that your posture is good
Mkay, I'll give that a go any recommended stretches? I'm usually fine the first 8hrs at work but when I get home I struggle to hold good posture
GG @eternal dock, you just advanced to level 16 !
Check out pilates i used to do it and it felt awesome
Working on your core also helps so planks are pretty good

thanks dude
no problem 🙂
hahaha
ay good to hear
aren't those things like $500
It's better to get up 30 times for 1 minute then it is to get up 1 time for 30 minutes.
id quote it but i forgot who said it
idk my brother had it and never used it
bro what the fuck both of my hands are basically unusable rn :(
My left wrist is just fucked dunno why and I cut my index finger real deep today
fuck man
F
hmmm, so I just had a very odd numbing sensation in the ulnar side of my wrist followed by a short feeling of tension and now its back to normal
does masturbating improve hand strength and stamina?
GG @urban grotto, you just advanced to level 3 !
You boutta get yelled at for shitposting.
I wish you could react to starboard shit in this channel
Is it normal to feel sensations in wrist and arm when aiming?
describe said sensations
also make sure to be taking regular breaks (at least 5 min breaks every 30 minutes) and to be doing wrist stretches (in pins)
When I am tensing up it just feels tense.
Probably from me tensing up.
Happens most when I play getting over it but now is happenign when I aim.
Yes don't worry
It's perfectly normal to feel tense when you tense
If you ever stop feeling sensations in wrist and arm when aiming that's when you should be worried

GG @graceful shadow, you just advanced to level 3 !
Bad day
I have 180 on a good day
How the hell
I have 180 on a good day
1 is more than enough smh
does breathing techniques/exercises improve reactivity? I saw some quake players talking about breathing techniques and stuff
idk about reactivity but it defo helps with overall performance
if you can breath normally and master it you will be much more consistent
damn
I gotta start doing them
like breath without panicking
and not tense up
proper breathing prevents tensing up
where can I find good breathing exercise thingys if you don't mind me asking?🙃
wim hof method ftw
thxthx
guys i think i might be going insane
ever since quarantine started my body feels extremely itchy whenever i feel hot/sweaty
even when i go for a light run, my entire body feels super itchy after like 10 mins
and its rlly weird cause before quarantine i used to play bball almost every night for 2-3 hrs
so its not like i didnt sweat or exercise before
thats something i have had before, but i dont remember how it went away
Wrong channel
lol my bad I'm usually automatically on the siege channel
Either deficient in something or allergic
nah i dont take any pre workouts
it can also happen if you stop exercising for a while then return
@zenith rapids
itchiness while running can be caused by your body not used to having your blood pumping so much in a while
should go away if you keep it up
oh
i see
makes sense
ty
yeah ive been running on treadmill every day and i feel like its getting a bit better
can u recommmend me some exercise i do between game session
and some exercise at morning to do before game session
what i started to do before every aim/game session is to warm up my shoulder (joints) with resistance bands.
@cedar vector stop tryna flex lmao
@violet swan What did I do?
what hand stretches do I do when my wrist and hand get tired when practicing.
Look in pins
@violet swan What did I do?
@cedar vector think he means the VRT lol
That was not felxing if he thought so
I need a better way to get my sleep patterns fixed.Pulled an all nighter to reset it but ended up sleeping 16 hours and woke up at the same exact time
I have melatonin and ltheanine but i dont want to rely on them in the long run
please @ me if you see this later on
can u guys tell me the monitor brightness and room lightning ratio
i use lamp for lightning and i put that lamp in back of the monitor
does low brightness also bad for the eyes becoz i think (it will be not true) that low brightness is also bad becoz eye have to focus more to get the info from monitor
please tell me the ratio
next question - is high contrast is also bad for eyes?
I have back pain like crazy for 3 days now. Do you think this would affect my aim?
Cause the last 2 days I am performing way below my avg in kvk and I have absolutly no idea why. 3 days ago I took a break of kvks, so that I dont grind every day
Like I am back to before I started bronze avg instead of gold 😅
If the back pain is affecting your posture then yes, it could ultimately be affecting your aim in a way
hmm. okay. my posture isnt any different
so I guess I am just having really bad days
or I can not take a single day off kvk because if I do I start at zero 😅
LOL! nvm. I think I found the problem. Somehow windows monitor settings switched back from 144 Hz to 60 Hz .... -> switched it and got a new highscore in CFSEI right away 😂
@cedar vector @graceful shadow Please refrain from posting VRT scores in the health channel
That's not what this channel is for
can u guys tell me the monitor brightness and room lightning ratio
@tepid cave I don't think anyone knows what their ratio is, just use a brightness that's comfy for your eyes
My room is dark, so I have my brightness a lot lower and I even use a night filter
I need a better way to get my sleep patterns fixed. Pulled an all nighter to reset it but ended up sleeping 16 hours and woke up at the same exact time
@grand sundial The most 'healthy' way to fix your sleep is to start fasting immediately the day you want your sleep fixed and go to sleep early, then force wake up (you will be hungry as well) and expose your body to natural day-light
Another tool that can help you get somewhat proper sleep is sleepyti.me
Gives you times to wake up after sleep cycles so you don't feel groggy
So if im waking up early tomorrow im not eating all day today until tomorrow morning
Correct
You will naturally be fatigued and hungry again tomorrow
When you wake up
So you reset both your sleep and bio-rhythm
ok thanks buddy
@tepid cave I don't think anyone knows what their ratio is, just use a brightness that's comfy for your eyes
@arctic moat what bout contrast does it effect to eyes?
A good contrast is important for visibility, I'm not sure if high contrast necessarily effects your eyes negatively
It's prolly more likely that you get eye-strain if it doesn't feel comfortable to look at though
There's probably some articles on it as well
unrelated question
but does too much eye strain
affect eyes long term
like will you end up needing glasses sooner
compared to someone who doesnt have much eye strain
nah
i mean maybe repeatedly?
like if you get eye strain like every day
or every other day
but in general getting it every once in a while doesnt mean you will need glasses faster
weird thing is i only got eye strain once and after that ive like been immune to it
What are the benefits of getting consistent and full hours of sleep vs erratic but complete hours of sleep?
just google benefits of good sleep schedule
Is there typically a good website to look at for things or is this all just "Facebook mom" looking sites?
look for reputable sources ofc
ah kk ty
wasnt there a google papers thing with legitimate research papers on it or not?
im not sure
what are the most optimal setting for monito/Nvidia monitor setting for my health/eyes
vibrancy 100
i'm practicing 6days/week and 1hour/day with kovaak's and play shooters semi regularly.
should i split my kovaak's routine or just keep on playing? i tend to random mini breaks inbetween to watch videos when i feel like it.
also after what amount of hours/minutes playing should i stretch my arm/wrist/shoulders?
Stretch first, then you SHOULD be good (im not the most knowledgeable on that)
Dont worry about breaking up your kovaaks session, if you need a min in between each scenario its not going to hurt your much and can help readers neck/wrist strains
Stretches should be performed during long periods of downtime as well so nothing tightens back up and everything is nice and loose
alright ty
hopefully if im wrong someone can correct me so we can both learn
Healthline seems like a very reputable source @sour hamlet They have a lot of articles related to sleep, I can link if you cant find
yeah would you please, idk if links are allowed here so feel free to PM
@violet swan dont mean to be a pest just want to make sure you see my response, sorry for the @
np 😄 1 sec
https://www.healthline.com/nutrition/10-reasons-why-good-sleep-is-important I also like the site a lot because it shows who wrote the article (in this case at the top right it says by a dietitian)
Cool thank you very much!!
What’s good sleep?
The reccommended amount of hours based on age group
GG @sour hamlet, you just advanced to level 6 !
Pretty commonly when I'm aiming the fingerbone to knuckle area of my hand will cramp or feel knotted, in particular when I make a wrist movement to the right putting my wrist in angle, which also causes my knuckles to come down somewhat and make contact with the mouse
Is that normal or is my hand fucked up
Idk exactly how to describe it but it's like the bones in the palm of my hand got in the way of each other and it makes a really sharp pain, so I have to pause and sorta reset my hand
Im finding it very hard to focus on objects that are father than like 15 feet away when Im outside during the day or there is another bright source of light in the room
like I cant focus it into one object and instead it splits for me
it's really weird and I havent ever had this issue before
likely an eye spasm or eye strain. it could be the first stages of myopia tho
I already wear glasses :<, iirc im like +6 or 5.5 idr
ah, i think you can start with the bates method
but this guy gives an interesting talk. i'm trying out his process of reversing myopia but i've only done it for a month
Myopia, or near-sightedness, is generally assumed to be an irreversible, genetically determined condition that can only be ameliorated with corrective lenses or surgery. Its prevalence is 30-40% in the U.S. and Europe, and more than 50% in some Asian countries, but it is rare ...
danke
I am very farsighted and not a fan of the new seeing double development when trying to focus distant objects
so hopefully this doesnt last long
do you spend time without glasses? i think that spending time looking in natural daylight should help
i know less about far sightedness
no I always wear my glasses while awake cause I cant see shit without them
I love sweet potatoes
wish I ate them more regularly before never knew how good they are just plain with butter
WOHO this makes me so happy
meaningless
sparkys daily pointless vrt flex

😛 😄
what are the most optimal setting for monito/Nvidia monitor setting for my health
@plain solstice please stop posting VRT scores in the health channel
This is not a VRT Flex channel
@dusk grotto very interesting video thanks for the share 😄
@mild jetty you're welcome. take care of your eyes.
i'll try to share my experiences with it in like a year
yeah i will also follow this now every day if there is a chance of improving my eyesight im all in
i bought reading glasses and ordered a cheap set of glasses under my normal prescription. at the very least, it forces my eyes to use the focusing i have and things can be a little blurry but livable. it can at least slow down progression of myopia but some people have had big revesals
i always found it interesting how baseball players can often have better than 20/20 vision from playing the sport since a young age
I have 20/20 vision, but I permanently have this weird floating black spot in my vision that hasn't gone away
I went to an eye doctor who told me that it's a protein, and it's totally normal
and it happens naturally when you get older
I notice it less and less, but anytime I stare at like a white sheet of paper or a white background, it's just there.
It can be annoying sometimes
Yeah that
I was told that it's normal, but it's still annoying
I've had it for a few years now
ive got a question. ife someone answers me feel free to tag me in it ofc i lately seem to start having pain in my pinky finger at the first join from my knuckles. the more i bend it the more pain there is should i change my grip? or could it just be getting used to the claw im doing now
im so confused if im just now like super recently(4 days ago) starting to feel carpal tunnel symptoms like thumb pain/weakness/tingling should i do the stretches before i play games or avoid stretches and just rest
@violet swan same
Anyone here use gfuel?
Stretching is the best thing to do before playing.
prob same reason u stretch before u run
Some tasty healthy food? Im only eating eggs and rice with chicken
Getting your joints warmed up basically as Elliot said
anyone know if small bumpy red pricks on your palm is normal?
no idea what that is but I haven't done anything out of the ordinary
can't take a pic rn but I can make an illustration in paint
ok
Maybe just a simple rash
what's that
GG @coral halo, you just advanced to level 22 !
nvm just translated it

Don’t google stuff it always ends in cancer it’s Better if you just visit an expert and just ask them
GG @strange coyote, you just advanced to level 7 !
Woah my feet hurt, oh seems like I have lung cancer!
Anyone experienced slight burning sensation around their lateral deltoid?
Definitely feels like I should fix something but I'm not tensed up or anything
happens
when I'm arm aiming too much
kinda
maybe look at your posture or desk height
if it's happening all the time that's not good
Hm yea my desk is unadjustable and my chair is not high enough so I put pillows underneath it lol
Defo need a better chair at some point
I'll try some things out
@coral halo I have that as well but for me its climate nothing else
yes alkhriz, I used to drink a fair bit of it like maybe 2 3 cups through the day / night
GG @naive onyx, you just advanced to level 8 !
waking up the next day felt sluggish and at times I felt like my heart was beating really weird so know I take it occasionnally

Lads, I've "recovered" from Lateral Epicondlitis (tennis elbow) if anyone wants to know the rotuine my physio gave me to sort it HMU I'll find it out for you
how much do you guys weigh (and how tall are you)?
115lbs/52kg 5'9"/175cm
that's on the skinny side right?
5'10" 260lb
fat ass powerlifter mode before lockdown
without the gym, just fat ass mode
my wrist has that same burn u have after a workout that no pain no gain kinda burn
hate playing the is it carpal tunnel or tendinitis guessing game
@violet swan isn't the treatment basically the same for both of them? rest and stretching
yeah basically
i guess
ont he 6th of this month i got my first pain
it must have not been that bad cause i forgot ab it and started playing games again on the 7th feeling perfectly fine
but on the 13th maybe 14th i felt another sharp pain and i think 30 minutes after i felt fine but the next morning ive just been having annoying lingering pain in my thumb/wrist
and its been like that since so idk at this point
i stopped playing games completely since then so hopefully it goes away soon
guys please concern about u health
That's quite exaggerated but yeah
just look at anyone who worked a desk job for 40 years and didn't exercise
aka me
how old are you
it look quite exaggerated but then people will become more concern about thier health and give first priroty to health
why his stomach look like tht
cause he big boy
not too sure about the science behind it
but doubting that long term headset use can cause a skull indentation lol
unless you're a fuckin baby and your skull is still malleable
LUL
@tepid cave watch this vid on that topic https://youtu.be/19jramFYerM
Brought to you by a scientific studio done by a well respected Canadian Institute. Thanks for watching!
If I wake up at 5:50 am when do I sleep?
5:49 am

You don't have to follow the exact times
But it's a very disciplined example of morning routine
@hidden dust
The amount of hours you need to sleep depends on your age and has an effect on when you should go to bed
younger people need more sleep
it also varies per person obviously
but probably 8-9 hours
s-healthroutines
Health improvement routines https://bit.ly/2KrQPWI
having a daily schedule is honestly prob a really good idea to start doing
Yeah
Is there actually any "real reason" for your routines having wake up alarm at 5.50?
yeah
also whats the reason for cold shower being a mental thing?
and hot being a physical thing
but since shower is after exercise and eating a light snack does it really?🥴
yes
take a hot shower then a cold one
ez
it's not mental thing, but that one is exempt from the color coding
the majority of things are color coded according to the top
and yeah the times are
examples
not something I do now, but I have done so in the past
I think most people would move the exercise to night time or afternon
but the reason I placed it in morning is
because ideally you want to get it done at the start of the day
to reap its benefits and avoid procrastinating and being lazy
i would never exercise in the evening or late. I want to practise in that time not use my energy to exercising
afternoon / morning is usually best for exercise
but it depends
a lot of people vary
with when their energy is at peak
but it's good to think these things through
like the objective of the routine is also to make people more aware
and you can check in with your dietician / doctor to help them make it more personalized for you
yeah

Is it just me or anyone else feel like using phone/pc wont make falling asleep any harder?
Only if i try to fall asleep earlier than usual
i never feel like using phone/pc makes sleeping harder
but Ive also perfected a sleeping position that gets me out in 3-4 minutes
