my rule of thumb to identify adhd: do you have an interest that you spend more time on than the average person would (some of my friends have 5000+ hours in geometry dash/valorant and this is a clear giveaway)
also a common symptom of autism
I mean not really, I actually have a lack of interest
I mainly just play games, sometimes I get super bored and demotivated to even play them
it can also cycle as in interest->burnout
no other hobbies or interests
yes adhd often manifests to where you get interested in something which causes you to hyperfixate and spend alot of time doing it but then the opposite happens you burn out
too quickly
i would have like multible different hobbies montly
i once spent 17 hours in a row every day playing a single game for 3-4 months then i spent 3 months without moving from bed or turning on my computer
my first day on kovaaks lasted 19 hours 😭
that 3 month period could definetly be false diagnosed as chronic depression if no context was given
I would say I have more burnout than actually hyperfixating but I def felt that before
thats how gay adhd is
like I would love something and then very quickly never touch it again
you show more signs of depression than adhd tho that doesnt cancel it out
it has happened to me
maybe ur adhd is mimicing depression
i abandoned a 60k sub youtube channel from night to day
very common
interest->burnout kind of thing
many times you can have depression due to adhd
family can call you a failure or lazy or whatever
bring yourself down
your own exhaustion from adhd and burnout can make you fall into a depression
i got a D in school but when i got tested my average iq was 135
while yes it is a depression, it is fixed by treating the root problem (adhd) and not the depression itself
which indicated something like adhd was playing apart
i was like this till mom started beating up 💔
damn 😭
I'm glad I have people that support me
but at the same time
never really think about it
the fear of the slipper can make anything happen
you don't appreciate what you have until you don't have it ig
a+ school
altough common is also a big part of adhd
I will def bring it up with my doctor because it seems very possible lol
yall 2 pls add me i feel we could be good friends 💔
what are temporary solutions for not getting enough sleep on a day? just gotta get through the day so i can sleep more
more sleep 🔥
stimulant
wait ur telling me my adhd is the reason why i do that?
yea just couldnt fall asleep last night 😦
caffeine
too awake?
yep mind didnt wanna fall asleep
hm
yes !
i thought it was just an addiction 😭
could be adhd tho could also be screentime and alot more
so just going of that its hard to tell.
I also get bored really fast like I love valorant but after 2 games I'm literally so mentally drained I just can't play any more
adhd hyperfixations:
adhd causes you to produce less dopamine / tolerate dopamine less
videogame provide dopamine
you play videogame 😻
it's unlike a neurotypical person addiction
i dont enjoy it but i just play 20 games in a row because its stimulating
@dull ravine we've become pocket psychiatrists
wow that's so true... I go back because i crave the dopamine?
see like I can't do that, like I literally get so drained
I HAVE to get off or take a nap
me last night 💀
definitely a trait of adhd but could also just be ur dopamine receptors "fried" due to over stimulation
u would think like video game make dopamine and make u happy and blue light make u no tired but me still sad and tired??
better than my actual psychiatrist fr
he never rly explained much
my psychiatrist would just ask simple questions and then increase my dosage or give me a new medication
ye literally same
i cant listen to awnsers without an explination
whats the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist anyways
YEES
psychiatrists focus on medication and treatment
not only that but any other activity feels like sticking your arm in a woodchipper !!! (and people will call you selfish or lazy for not doing these activities)
but my psychologist gave me meds? literally first thing she did
it also sucks because I'm going to college soon with no interest and no motivation to start an interest or hobby
doctor vs label
psychologists dont give medication!
basically
psychologists derive you to a psychiatrist
wtf
what meds? first im hearing about it
then psychiatrist gives you the medication
fluoxetine
i think thats how its spelled
what I'm taking
fucking anti depressants for anxiety like huh?
i stopped taking em
ah
ah i had that a while ago didnt do anything for me
yea it all depends on the person
guys i used to have really bad panic attacks, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, and anti depressants made the problems a lot worse and on top of that removed my personality completely, then they hit with the right diagnosis (adhd) and everything got fixed instantly
mine made me feel like a zombie
might work for one person and make the other person feel worse
hopefully that's my case
the thing is it sometimes lets me focus on things that are actually productive... but i dont know how to pick these things
also made me really violent (only in my thoughts, but i genuinely felt like i had no control)
I had really bad suicidal thoughts before I took anti depressants tho
there are periods where i stop caring about games and focus on school
I don't anymore
i had that too, it can be a side effect
let ur psychologist know
i havent gone in months
i find ironic how suicidal thoughts and behavior are a common side effect of antidepressants :(
im having a hard time focusing on anything too chaotic 😭
yeah i was surprised it was a side effect at first
yea its weird
stopping antidepressants likely saved my life if im being honest
I don't experience that
also getting off of them makes u evn more suicidal
if u quit cold turkey i think
depends
antidepressant can make you feel numb and lose a sense of purpose
yea I def don't feel that way
especially if depression isint the true diagnosis
type shi
but then I feel worse later in the day
does anyone else just never focus? like anytime i do anything im also thinking about other stuff
i went as in full dose -> 3/4 dose -> 2/4 dose -1/4 dose etc as adviced by my psychiatrist
the important thing when you talk to ur doctor is to explain everything because its easy for a doctor to misdiagnose if he doesnt have all the data
like i can "focus" but thats more like locking in,not my thoughts going away
yeah lol it was impossible to do anything but medication fixed this
rip the capsule open and sniff 3/4 dose through my nose
yeah i just quit cold turkey tbh
LOL
for example when i had a problem with a friend or something i would overthink and my inner monologue wouldnt shut up for hours to the point i couldnt even do other activities or eat
especially when do coding i constantly lose focus
kinda relatable
I have day dreams all the time and get lost into space but I never have like a monologue that stops me from doing something
over fixating on a thing you couldve said differently 5 years ago
for example
but I pretty much talk to myself in my head more than talk to others
I used to do that with crushes
I also just can't look people in the eye that much
and I barely talk to my parents
except my gf
hey my bro you have adhd !
talking to yourself could be adhd but could also be your brain compensating for a lack of sociallife
i confirm it
if you struggle with eye contact while having all those previous symptoms then i just second it you have adhd, go talk to a professional as soon as possible and get treated and you will stop feeling that fatigue that haunts you everyday of your life
is there really a way to "test" that tho with my doctor to know for sure? or is it more like "hey take this medication and tell me if you feel better"
but with all your symptoms combined i would say it is not guarenteed but very likely that you do have adhd
tbh i am from europe and i took a private doctor session and i got the meds off my description, then since they worked he kept me on them
have any of yall also taken the mmpi test?
mmpi?
same
language barrier
europe we take QB test
zlawg i am also in europe 😭
the what now
bro did i go to some fake ass doctor or smthing
ah
that shit's useless (mmpi) in my case i lied on it (shouldnt have) and it came out as me being truthful
i am going to be brutally honest, if you are 99.9% sure you have adhd and you are from europe then don't bother with public doctors just book a private appointment and leave the same day with the medication that changes your life
too broke for that shit
i've only been happier since and no more bed rotting or fatigue or anxiety
adhd causes anxiety too? wtf
where in europe is bro from?
italy
im a uni student with barely any money but i just felt like there's no price to live life
pizza
yeah from overthinking
only good thing about this country bru
i can barely afford going to school 💔
a great example is when my partner didn't reply to me in 10 minutes i would start wondering and get stressed out but after medication i would be able to reason it out and understand a logical thing
is this real
lmao
ohh this brings back memories
i used to hallucinate when she'd ghost me 💔 💀
yeah if you have adhd and a partner you may come out as either extremely obsessed or avoidant
after pills we didn't have many problems of that kind thankfully
we both pretty obsessed so I often don't have to worry cuz we always both text back quickly lol
dont they have side effects
thats all im wonderin about
all of them do
but side effects doesn't mean its guaranteed to happen
you could take it and have all of the side effects or take it and have none
usually starts with obsessed then turns into avoidant
for me atleast
true
spend too much time together where it comes to a point where it isint as fun anymore
okay so in my specific case i take methylphenidate and i will only mention the main side effects that i experience:
-energy and emotional crash after 12h of taking the medication (imagine it like taking a lot of coffee then it wearing out making you feel exhausted) but it improves after taking the medication continuously
-it makes extremely hard to eat, it suppresses appetite, but other adhd medications do not have this issue
-dry mouth, you drink too much water
-palpitations (especially when mixed with caffeine)
same exact issues when taking amphetamines
also obviously, if you take it at 8pm you won't be able to sleep
man i already get palpitations on my own 💔
then not smart to start stimulants
those side effects aint hella bad tho
peak
no but you can definetly start off on a lower dose
important thing is cardio when taking stimulants
you want good heart health
that'd be if i actually have adhd, and id have to go to an actually certificated psychiatrist
so ur resting heartrate aint gonna be 170bpm
not whatever that psychologist bs was
yes
understandable
bro my first day on lisdexamphetamine left me resting heart rate at 148 bmp
bpm
20mg
wtf
yep
Mine used to be 130 in school but normally rn it’s like 70
my resting heartrate in my peak was between low 50 and mid 60's
I think at one point I had a sitting heart rate of 160 and I sweat 24/7 at school
It was literally the first hour
No work even done
Just social anxiety
fr
wish i was finnish or something
school system there is crazy good
best in europe
yeah
especially for people with attention deficit'
the italian school system is completely useless
s
most of europes school system is great for normal people
but complete dogshit for people even slightly neuro divergent
also not sure if this ties into ADHD but I have a problem when playing ranked with friends and like in a clutch situation or just playing in general its hard to hear comms because I'm so focused and I don't think rationally sometimes and just auto pilot
anxiety or hyperfixation
could be both as they both release adrenaline
aka fight or flight
but yes that is common for adhd
happens alot lol, like I'll ask my friend "you should have comm'd that" but apparently he did
idk
like it just goes right past my mind
for me when someone speaks i lose complete focus of anything i was doing
same
same
but for my gf with adhd it's the opposite
especially people who scream comms
nah its just the opposite like I just totally forget they were even talking
and it actually causes me to lose
cuz I miss vital information
people who complain how they died..
adhd in women is so different that its hard even comparing 😭
maybe I'm just a woman at heart ❤️
"ohh my godd he was so low this guy's..." (another 20 seconds of rambling)
"oh my god what are my teammates doing" 💔
as they dry peak mid into 1 op and 3 vandals
with a classic
😭
always the instalock reyna's 💔
people who say shit like that are so dumb
literally doesnt even help
soft spoken critisism is the best
Hey Reyna maybe play the fucking game you fucking stupid ass player like uninstall bro your actually so bad going .2 KD as a duelist like holy shit your so trash
Jk I usually just say Nothingg
Then I complain in vc like what is our Reyna doing 😭
Don’t wanna make them heated and throw harder
yea instead of just going back and forth Egoing eachother actually communicating or planing usually help
if i am doing incredibly bad compared to my teamates i usually try to find other ways i could help them
in valorant defo util or using ur self as a free trade
Yea lol
ofcourse depends on if your team is capable
that also apply's to if ur hard carrying ur team
get them to help you out in someway
instead of crying wtf is my team doing
people who cry that theyre hardstuck "insert rank" because of their team are just overall bad players themselves
being able to communicate even if you're the only one with a mic is what differentiates a good player from a noob with an ego
Yea it’s rough out here man
I think u gotta have the mindset that ur gonna be the reason u win games
Even if ur 0/14
Are there recordings of these sessions like with the upcoming creatine? I won't be able to make it
^ interesting in the caffeine one
Anyone have advice on building aim strength? Ive being doing the fundamental routine for a few days and my arm feels shot. ive been thinking of just doing a smoothness playlist until my muscles get stronger.
just keep practicing, youll get stronger over time. if youre sore, take a break
Y'all do kovaaks and then sleep or sleep and then do kovaaks when you wake up?
Right now I do it after I wake up, curious if anyone does it differently
depends on what u do that day tbh i wouldnt aim train before a gaming session only warm up
its the same way u wouldnt go for a pr after ur workout or u would rest before a tournament
I don't know if i have an actual health problem or if it is just the lack of training, when i track targets, especially to the right i get an involuntary twitch in my arm and "flick" off target. I just started my aim journey just last weekend but this happened before training too.
I am also relatively new to the PC world i have my PC since 1 year ago and played just minecraft till Marvel Rivals came out.
I don't know if this helps to answer the question but i thought it may be important
yo its my first time actually eating healthy but one problem is that i dont know what to eat at lunch and dinner. For the morning i like to eat egg omelette's and i start my day with a cup of coffee. Any suggestions for what to eat? Trying to improve my reaction time by eating healthy! :)
^_^
水
Ask chatgpt about it, give it your preferences and restrictions. It'll work a good plan for you
You're just not smooth with your movements, it's normal as a beginner in the aim training scene. It'll gl away quite fast if you play tracking scenarios often enough
alright thank you so much
Just eat whatever you can make at home, no processed shit. Eat whole foods, preferably organic. Processed foods with low and natural ingredients. If you’re a gym nerd like me, strive to get at least one protein source, one carb source and a vitamin/fiber source
Generally I opt for chicken and rice or ribeye with home made fries (not fried) etc, generally simple and easy meals that don’t make a mess in your kitchen and are also quick
You can make a protein source in so many but yet simple ways, you just have to find what works for you
If you want faster reaction time, I suggest taking creatine and or other supplements like magnesium zink calc and your omegas etc to improve general health and well being. Through blood work I found out that I have naturally low iron production so therefore i supplement that.
If you want good cognitive ability, never skip out on your fats, carbs and most importantly, sleep. I could sit here and ramble all day on what you should and shouldn’t do. You HAVE to find what works for YOU even if it’s not optimal
You finding what works for you is the most crucial part of how your body is going to react in the long run, that said. If something doesn’t work you, find a loophole around it so you can stay consistent as, consistency is the only thing you’ll get benefit from in the long term. Even if it takes a good while to create change in your health.
If you want quick results, increase glucose levels or take caffeine, even both.
My arms been fatigued for 2 days now, what can i do to speed up recovery other than taking breaks
i tried to push up on my chair arms to sit up and a huge pain just ran down the middle of my right wrist and if i push anything with my palm it again just shoots a pain down the middle idk whats wrong
there are some herb creams out there especially for muscle soreness or in general after sport and for me it works beautifully. You could also try to put something warm on it or masage it
idk where you live so i don't know what the medical care situation is in your country but i would go and see a doctor
and try not to use it too much till it gets better or it may get even worse
i cant play static because i get really dizzy when flicking and it feels like i cant keep track of where the stuff are idk it feels like im playing when im really sleep deprived
now the issue is when i played befroe sleeping i didnt have this, after sleeping in the middle of the day it shows up?
its less severe on tracking but wow alright i still cannot play well
i get its a sleep issue, my question is why does it show up in the day instead of when im actually tired at night
ok im genuinely cooked what the hell i just jumped from bronze to gold in 2 tries on steadytrack even though this feels terrible
How much do u play in a day? And maybe try if it gets better if you focus more on the target instead of the crosshair.
And maybe look over your video setings and what refresh rate your monitor has. I got a 165 hz and still got like 600fps in kovaaks so the screen tearing is really noticable and i lose track of the targets sometimes too if i flick far fast. So maybe try V-Sync or cap the fps to your monitors refreshrate maybe this can help🤔
its not a pc issue tho, definitely a me issue
usually i can play fine
240hz and 240 fps capped no tearing anyway
not much, was just playing like early this morning/late last night and it was fine, and now today afternoon im getting these issues
its subsided a bit by now
i really think it is linked to sleep, i was just wondering why they show up after sleeping instead of before
Maybe you are just tired or stressed rn or didn't sleep enough?
How much time passed after getting up?
by now, like 4 hours
did u do any activities before getting on the PC or just chilling around before?
hm, i thought maybe you didn't really do anything before so that it was related to your circulation not being really active at this point but then i really don't know... Maybe keep an eye on it and if it comes back again go and see a doctor
How many hours do you sleep on average ?
Not enough lol, especially not this month
if there any tips or guide to for posture, rn im having a strong issue having my right arm(my aiming arm) being comfortable while game, mainly my shoulder feels "weird" i dont know how to explain it, ive tried a lot of things but ive been stuck and its really annoying, if i sit really low(my shoulder nearly being parralel with the table and nearly full arm on desk) it helps but ik its inefficient and makes aiming harder(note when i fully relax my arm my arm tilts to the right a good bit and it tilts backwards )
You can get by even with 6-7h, but be careful with the very low numbers if you do it often
i've started to have an almost burning achy pain in this area on my hand when i play games, i think i'd benefit from a smaller mouse but i was told to ask in here for help with what i should do
also any sort of stretches or exercises that you think would help are welcome
Definitely get a smaller mouse, the reason you get an ache is because your thumb joint is actively always tensed whether you feel it or not. You pressing your thumb into the mouse and the side of your palm makes it tensed and therefore putting your joint in constant pressure
You compensate by pressing into the mouse cause your hands are too big for that specific grip relative mouse
Either you get a more shape orientated mouse for claw, small mouse, or have your thumb joint not pressed and wrapped around the mouse
Personally I have my thumb curled where I don’t have contact with my upper thumb joint and only the tip of my thumb
would it be worth it to try a cheap fingertip mouse like the keychron m4? i want the miao that wlmouse is making but its not out yet and i dont wanna spend 150 on something im not sure about, what would you do?
do you mean like straighten my thumb?
It’s hard to explain since I always change grips but specifically you’d want your up thumb joint flared out instead of pressed into the mouse. See how your thumb has full contact with the mouse, try curling it in closer to ur wrist have no contact with the joint itself
3d grips also help a ton, makes fitting any mouse to your hand. I use TBTL ones and it's quite wonderful
okay i get u,, ive always gripped my mouse like i do rn just because i thought it would be worse to have my thumb bent in like that,, always thought it looked crazy but all my friends hold theirs that way
i'll def try it when i get home,,
what do you mean 3d grips??
like the ergo stick on things or just like grip tape or whatever
Most of the time, it’s actually more natural for your joints
When you hold your hand out you can see that your fingers curve naturally, your thumb especially is never pointed out straight
my thumb points away from my hand if this means anything to u
like hard curve
Like inwards towards your palm or outwards like to the top of ur hand
it curve in idle position so its really like second nature to lay it across the whole side
it feels kinda awkward to press the tip of my thumb into the mouse instead of my whole thumb but i haven't noticed any problems physically yet so i'll keep trying to hold it the right way
Hallo!! Which arm muscles is best to work out to improve dexterity or basically something like aiming! :D Maybe it could be all of them but I am curious on wat to work on! 😁
all of them is always recommended tbh
train gymnastics
Any tips for someone w cerebral palsy? quite genuinely cant get my tracking out of iron in benches.
i suppose your using your working hand for the mouse? if so, keep grinding. the only downside you might be facing is slower motor learning than other people
I think you going into a more aggressive claw would make u naturally have to curve ur thumb
ye im using the dominant hand for mice. is there anthing i could do gripwise that might reduce tension? i use palmgrip using just pointer finger for trigger. my microflicks are ok but as soon as i wide flick i become so damn slow.
When you add tension, add more of it through the thumb, you can use your thumb as a stabiliser and your pinkie as support
That’s up to you though
ive been trying a more aggressive claw, but im not as stable or accurate. ill give it time but i did just order that keychron ftip mouse so ill keep doing it until i get that and then see if i have the same issues on that one
if i dont then im gonnna get the miao and itll prob be the last mouse i get unless it gets updated or a new wl ftip mouse drops
Like personally I add most my tension through my fingers instead of my wrist, only time I add tension on wrist/forearm are flicks or wide targets
id say most of my tension is in big flicks, otherwise im barely gripping my mouse tbh
because its so light i dont need to put much tension to do anything, paired with a glass pad its really really easy to move without much tension at all
i use palm grip aswell, the only thing i can advice is to think about gripping it less, youll do it automatically less over time. if youre the type of cp with spastic, its something that you will struggle alot with generally. but i guess you already noticed that. no reason not to train it tho, you will still progress
Yeah, u don’t want to grip your mouse really, I’m talking like subtle tension hits, I’m unsure where you are in your tension management and how much control you can add but that’s where I am
Yeah i am, tension control is difficult, Thank you.
Also I have no idea if it would work on glass as I’m on raiden/zero/hien
im plat overall in the benchmarks with diamond scores on tracking, im not sure how i can demonstrate my tension control to u in a different way than my skill lvl , if u have any ways u would rather me put it lmk
yeah its an entirely different playstyle from glass to cloth bc u cant like press ur fingers into the pad and stuff but i get what u mean
That would mostly be reactive, you don’t have to show me though
if there is a way i can show u or explain my tension better lmk and ill do it
i can do wtv like a vod or something if youd like
I made a diy glass mousepad once and I thought glass was actually more fun
It’s just more inconsistent so I never stuck with it
the progress will definitely be there, dont get hung up on short term frustrations 🙂
there was a glass cutting board from ikea that ppl used bc it was the same thing as any other but like 50 bucks,, its so much more fun for me
i have a superglide xxl though nothing like crazy
I got mine from a sheeth of glass textured panel in my monitor when I dismantled my other one
i have to have a big pad though
like the screen????
ive never heard anything like that tbh
Yeah, it came with like 5 different sheets and they all had a level of friction to them
From less friction to more friction
Yeah, they’re sheets that project and bounce light into your front end of the monitor
oh okay
i get u
thats cool lowk
innovative
thanks sm for your help btw its done more than u know fr
I mean, just experiment around
It’s probably the best thing you can do
Nobody can give u the right subjective advice on how you feel with your mouse and all
id love to be able to buy a bunch of different shit but im not financially able to experiment as much as id like
yeah i get this but its still good for me to get opinions from other ppl bc i dont think straight most of the time and ill do things impulsively and end up regretting it most of the time
How does using 500cm affect my wellbeing
You’ll get there at some point eventually, for now, experiment with subtle changes in your grip until you find the optimal one for you
negatively
o7
You must have insane arm speed
Keep practicing and you might even go lb once you switch back
Yeah, I’ve seen it
I want to do more of this, but I’m probably gonna strain myself
Weirdly, I don’t seem to strain at all, though regardless of how much I play when I’m on my normal sensitivity
It looks fun to be honest
I’m not sure if that’s just strength built up my wrist from climbing or just the way I hold my mouse in general
But I never fatigue or cramp
Yeah, after a while most people don’t get any type of injuries unless they hit very long sessions
I can aim train fine for like 2 hours with no signs
Tracking, maybe not
I’d probably be asleep by the 30 minute mark
For real though, make micro changes in your grip and practice with that new said grip for a little while until you find what’s right, remember to find a position that you can get 95% accurately every time u go to your desk
Is it okay if my wrist is not touching the pad? It touches it a little bit almost like its floating across it though.
But when I move my mouse down, my wrist does lift off the pad
Well the wrist touching the pad gives you very much control and stability in your aim but if u feel that it works for you go for it. I mean if u look at sports in olympics or smth every country has their own techniques to a degree so u can always create your own technique in aiming too. It just has to work for you
But of course you could try to just make ur chair a bit higher so the lower arm aligns more with the desk that helped me at least
if it doesnt hurt at all after a 2h session then its fine
is there a reason the ketogenic diet is not widely used in esports despite its known cognitive health benefits and the fact that ketones are better for brain function then carbs/glucose
Esports has not reached that level of optimisation yet, normal sports havent either despite the very strong relationship between physical performance and diet
Issue is that players will eat what they want and in all fairness they are still going to be very competitive even if their diet is not perfect
people like carbs most likely, I don't think people really care what you eat because there's more important things which will improve your performance more greatly (sleep, working out, warming up physically like a short run before a game, eating healthy food, mental state etc)
these are just my assumptions and from what I've seen said from people at the highest level of eSports and I don't think I've heard keto diet being mentioned until now as a benefit, if it works for you go for it
its fine, average score on this platform. alot of that depends on the hardware you use
it's a bitch to maintain, even seals use it on missions but dont stay on it out of ops
perfectly average scores in a vacuum. In practice, this can be influenced by a ton of stuff
if i'm on a 540hz monitor, with an optimized os, an op1 8k and 250mg of caffeine i'll smoke your scores no matter what
interesting
It's also a bit early to tell to what degree it would even benefit esports players.
If at all
there could be like 900 million other factors involved but i did hit asc from diamond in valorant within a month after going on the ketogenic diet and when I went off the diet for a month (ramadan, didnt want to restrict my food for the little i did eat) i went on the craziest derank back to diamond and probably the worst cognitive state ive been in my life
still could be a ton of other factors though but I was just curious because from my experience at least the different was pretty massive
ramadan did just end so I'm gonna go back into the ketogenic diet and see if my performance improves again
can someone help? my aim is super shaky right now because my forearm and hand feel super sore and i dont know why. are there any stretches i can do to make them feel less like shit?
You can look at the health category in #resources and if this doesn't help take a break before it gets worse and try again tmr or smth
Alright thank you. I'm definitely taking a break and not gonna play any more games for the rest of the day
for people that use a finger tip grip, have you ever gotten irritation on the inside tip of your ring and pinky finger?
like in the red areas circled?
mainly on pinky finger
Anyone have any tips for alleviating wrist pain, carpul tunnel? Do I just have to get a brace for a bit until im like healed?
if you mean claw, not really
If the pain is sudden and sharp and goes away fast, id say you are likely pinching a nerve. My advice would be to get a stress ball, and squeeze it or something similar to build up some fat and muscle in those tips.
You can look in the healt part in the #resources there is a part specifically for your wrists with exercises that you can do before and after absession. Maybe this helps
Dont you think you performed well because, well, you ate way too little because of your fasting?? theres seems to be a big correlation and causation problem with yout statement
The keto diet itself consisted of me eating a lot less than I was when I was fasting
Because I was mostly doing it to go on a cut rather than cognitive enhancement the enhancement was just a cool add on
but while fasting you have a lot longer timespan where you don't eat and are probably hungry or have low blood sugar, or am i wrong? I never fasted myself so i don't know what impact it really has🤔
Sort of
To be fair I'm comparing three different things here so it is a bit messy
Fasting keto, fasting reg, and reg diet
I'm gonna do some more testing
I've seen improvement from reg carb to fasting keto but fasting carb has been the worst
hello, i recently started aim training and upper part of my wrist is hurting rn. my sens is 40cm/360. i used to play on lower sens. I think my posture is decent. i started playing after long time and i aim train for about an hour. Any help why the pain is happening, is it normal? what should i change? i use viper mini mouse and my hands are big.
sharp or dull pain? Maybe try stretching routines before youre about to start playing, AND after. Its tedious for sure, but helps. Im going to make a few assumptions here but If your hands are quite big it could be the mouse forcing you into a bit of an unnatural grip style for you, but its more likely that say if your grip feels uncomfortable or forced, that yours tensing up your wrists alot more to get stable aim
dull pain
its kind of gone now
how long does it take for you to experience it usually?
but i can still feel a little bit of pain
i experienced it first time yesterday
after how many hours etc of aimtraining?
one hour of aim training
and i played 2 3 hours of valorant after
did you get up much for any breaks etc?
hmm yeah but for like 10 mins
or something
yeah alright. obviously not a doctor or anything but i feel like being dull pain its probably a combination of fatigue and using too much tension, as its common in people starting to tense too often. try to get up to speed with tension management in aiming. make sure you warm up and warm down, and take breaks every 30 mins to an hour
okay so basically hold my mouse lightly?
yeah so in certain scenarios ingame and in training you should be either using your arm or wrist or both. for a predictable target thats strafing slow say in a tracking scenario, youd for the most part want to be using your arm, and if you prefer using your wrists be calm and dont tense as much. But say if that target starts to wiggle and not strafe as long, then you tense more
its more of a rule of thumb though, its more about not fatiguing and then just aiming like shit because everythings tired
let me find an aimlabs scenario, i think i have one which will be of some help
VT TensionTrack Novice
okay im trying this scenario
thank you so much for detailed reply @obsidian comet
i really appreciate you 🙏
no worries bro i hope it helps out the pain !
anyone's eyes get watery when they play?
I've noticed my eyes get watered up while playing and it distracts me when I play, not sure what I can do about that
blink, eye drops, sitting further away from the monitor, look at something different for a while, decrease the brightness of the monitor, drink enough
thanks 👍 ill try decreasing brightness maybe. do you think it's better to have curtains open or closed?
they're directly behind my monitor so sunlight sometimes hits my eyes
different light sources in your room is definitely less straining than one big contrast of bright monitor and dark sorrounding
pretty much what real1 said but this only really happens to me if ive been on my PC for hours straight late at night with hardly any ambient light. Maybe invest in a warm coloured lamp that lights up the behind area of your monitor so its less straining at nights too
realistically, am i damaging my shoulder if i lift my forearm when i aim in games?
ive been doing this for the past few years now
im only sliding my arm across the pad so its basically hovering
Probably not. Unless your posture is bad. you can develop RSI (repetitive strain injury). But if your form and posture is normal and you're somewhat physically active in general it should be fine. damage usually comes in the form of handling weights it cannot control, excessive time under tension or being in weak positions for prolonged durations/with a weight load
take a break until you actually want to do it again. You will not improve at anything if you are hating it. Same with diet, fitness, anything in life.
and by break i mean at least a week off if its genuinely pissing you off and just play the games you enjoy rather than trying to improve ur aim
I see, i guess nothing will happen then since I haven’t experienced any pain
my trap just gets tired when I hold an angle for too long lmao
If you've never noticed any pain from it, then no
sounds good then
i just wasn’t sure if it was like dislocating my shoulder over time or something
that's not necessarily the truth when it comes to repeated damage to joints/tendons etc, but yeah in this case where there's almost no weight load its almost a non issue as long as their posture is fine
do you have your whole arm floating the whole time, or just for short periods. because although it will unlikely damage anything, its not a very efficient way to aim either if your arm doesnt touch the pad almost ever
yea its pretty much floating
i mean it does sometimes drag across the mousepad but like im not using it for staiblity
it just happens to slide across a bit bc of how low my chair is
i dont have contact with my wrist either
its basically a 0 contact setup
ngl bro i feel like just in the aim side of things that will hold you back a little
it probably does
bc if im sitting holding an angle my trap gets tired so i have to like rest my arm on the desk to hold it LMFAO
do you do that because its what youve always known? or ur setup?
im not sure why i even aim like this to begin with ive been doing it for so long
idk one day during valorant scrims i got fed up and changed it
and i just havent looked back?? im not sure
bc i used to do wrist aim with my wrist planted on mousepad prior to this
mmm, as long as its comfortable i suppose. it is a bit of a cursed setup tho lol
yea LMFAO
i lowkey want to try donk/twistzz style
where they plant their forearm
and i mean just out of technicality your arm will never be as accurate as you fingers are, so its like a hard barrier accuracy wise
well
im not exactly arm aiming
im still mostly using wrist i believe
but i just have freedom of doing wide motions or swipes since im not planting my arm anywhere

does anyone know if its rlly bad to keep taking quetiapine if its not perscribed to me
i googled the side effects but theres nothing too bad on it
In his case it's been years already, repetitive stress wiul'd be caused damage and harm at that point even with light damage buildup. If he's fine, he's fine
Well yeah like i said in his case and in this context of just moving a mouse its a non issue. Its just the sentiment that if you don't notice pain from something long term means its fine isnt correct, in a more overarching way. Like a tradesman lifting heavy things repeatedly for years might be fine but over the course of even longer time it could be damaging.
why would you be taking this if its not prescribed?
I tend to present the least amount of info to people, but give the most efficient delivery possible. I'll tell them what they need, not the entire presentation of how and why
Thats great for you, thats your way of doing things and its fine. I like when it especially comes to health related issues that people know what could become and issue and how to circumvent it if theyre worried about it which is why theyre here asking in this channel
Bc I've been in this channel for a while, I've noticed people don't learn much. If they're interested and follow up, I'll go into depth. If they don't, the short answer sticks better and at least they have learned smth
Great. As far as im aware though in this thread above i only really gave one explanation and the rest was just questions i was curious about. So i think we practically do the same thing, if youre getting at the point i write too much ab things
At least there are good amounts of helpful people in this chat
even if you have a little bit of caffeine everyday will it still make you feel more awake? or even if you don't feel more awake after awhile is your brain still more active?
or do the effects just fade away if your body is used to it
i slept the most last night out of the past week but I'm somehow the most tired today? How does that work?
how am I so tired after sleeping more than average
Caffeine resistance
Does that happen quick even without super large amounts?
it'll take a few weeks if you do under 150mg daily
Ah okay
the effect where it keeps you awake will stay around pretty much indefinitely, but the stimulation you develop a tolerance to, in my experience
one night of good sleep wont negate your bad sleeping habit. you feel good and not tired once you get a habit of sleeping well. only if that tiredness throughout the day is sleeping related tho
It’s from person to person, for me as I have a really fast metabolism, I process things out really fast thus making me more resistant to begin with
If you’ve had resistance in the past it’ll be easier to get it in the future
I barely feel caffeine 200-250mgs when I’m not taking it and not feeling it at all when I’m used to it
I drink it for low calorie and taste more so than the caffeine itself
yeah but why do I feel worse than the days I get less sleep
i just told you a reason 🙂 there could be a lot of other reasons too. nothing you have to be concerned about until you get a habit of sleeping good and still feeling like shit. you could be crashing because you finally slept of some of the stress, you could be sleeping long and still have poor quality sleep, you could be overtraining, etc. you cant really tell why sadly. not until you have a consistent habit of something
got it, thanks 🙂
What helped me last night was having a really long day, didnt come home till 9pm. i dont think thats realistic for me everyday but i can try to replicate it similarly
getting good sleep is all about rhythm, routine, and consistency. waking up at the same time, going to bed at the same time are the biggest factors you can use to improve on it. of course there are still details you can work on, but those two things are the main benefactors
it may sound a bit stupid, but when i am playing reactive tracking scenarios i notice i blink way less than usual and after some play time my vision becomes lazy, i don't know when to blink because it could make me miss
remind yourself to focus your eyes on the target again. or learn and practice to blink more throughout the run. both things you just have to grind for to get better at it. reactive scenarios are very tiring for the eyes in contrast to other scenarios, more breaks can help alot too
thank you
my hands and shoulder shakes when ever i do tracking task and dynamic clicking tasks
I have this too, I have cerebral palsy and i find I can counter it by slowing down and focusing on not tensioning
Use the mouse like you carry a filled glass of water
i have tremors, my arm feels weak and shaky sometimes when aiming and thats when my aim is really bad i immediately notice that my precise tracking is choppy and jittery especially on 20-30cm/360
My desk is too tall so I've been using a couch pillow to make me sit taller. With a couch pillow, It's like only a little bit of my forearm touches the desk, but when I use a seat cushion, my whole forearm rests on the desk. Which of these is better?
SYW playlists in kovaaks, dont use any force in the wrist and fingers, just focus on moving the arm at an even pace and focus all your efforts on the target, don't actively think about your body
Both, you can makeit workk regardless. Just know that floating arm tires you out quicker, resting arm requies greater explosive force to flick.
hello i have a little question ! i noticed that i put a lot of tention in my shoulder while aiming, is it normal or i have to try to relax and try to managing my tention
no tension is ever a good thing. Even if you hit a PB in a run where you tensed up, you'd have room to grow with the same score when playing relaxed, as it'll mean you haev more speed potential in reserve
okay thanks, so i have to focus on relaxing my shoulder while playing that will be a hard task haha
focus on the game, never focus 100% on your body
you always get worse scores when you do so
yeah but if i never focus on my body i will always have my shoulder in tension
but yeah being relaxed is always better, you tend to overflick less, you're less jittery and thus you can read bots/enemies better, you tend to make better decisions
relax properly before going into training, and then focus on the game
i guess i just lack of game time i'm not fully used to mouse n keyboard
yeah i will start to meditate to calm my mind ig 🤣
i don't really meditate ever, but being cool headed and rational always pays off, in all fps games
yeah i see
does anyone know some good stretches and workouts, specifically for when you flick left or right with the mouse using your wrist?

syw is easy and do u mean playing it on a lower sens to move my forearm and not just wrist pivot i always did syw in a way that i focus on a straight motion trying to be smooth and linear
I mean that there should be zero tension in your wrist and fingers
Does anyone see any issues with my form here? I play claw and I'm starting to think my mouse is part of the problem. I have a g403 hero, and it really seems it's made a lot more so for palm gripping.
It just so happens part of my pain is over on that crunched up right side
I've been thinking of picking up a pulsar x3 mini
bro u hand size and ur mouse size is not proper ratio
too big hand too smalll mouse = pain
i had the same problem with the g305
That's only true if you claw
If I don’t sleep a full 9 hours and usually wake up before that, should I just stop trying to force myself to sleep until I hit 9 hrs?
Like if I wake up at 8, I’ll just take small naps until 9
For example
I try to go for 11-8 but I just don’t feel like getting up at 8 lmao
everyone has a different amount of sleep they need
if you're getting 90+ mins REM and 90+ mins deep sleep you're likely okay sleeping less than a full 9 hrs
I honestly just don’t know
I’ve been waking up multiple times a night for a year now
Usually around exactly 4 hours after I fall asleep
And then like 3 hours after that
I go for 9 hrs and I’m tired all fuckin day
Waking up throughout the night is completely normal and can happen up to 20-30 times after your sleep cycles end. you just usually sleep in again after a few minutesand forget you woke up. The times where this doesnt happen and you remember being awake are times where you take way longer to sleep again. The reason for that can be a lot of things. Without a sleep lab or you yourself tracking your sleep with a smartwatch and app is just a guessing game
From what i remember of the stuff you already posted is your caffeine intake maybe a reason for that, who knows
Do wrist stretches do something to someone who doesn't have any wrist problems and already working out daily?
MY AIM TESNSE UP WHEN I TRAKE AN OBJECT EVEN THO I HOLD MY MOUSE VERY LIGHTTYL
MY SHOUDLER AND ARM STARTS TO SHAKE AND HURT
more of a preventative measure. working out everyday will def help alot moreso IMO but yeah warming up especially before and after a long session will be beneficial long term
but also getting warmed up before gaming can lead to better bloodflow and control too, especially if its cold. so can help performance
I went a week without caffeine and had 1 headache, felt completely the same and nothing seemed to change sleep wise
guys, honestly. you should stop scrolling tiktok all day and learn that an attention span beyond 5 seconds is something to work for. a week is NOTHING. get a habit of it, and you will see a difference. a week just wont cut it
but is a little bit early in the morning and not close to bed time really THAT bad
probably not, i myself see no reason to use caffeine anyways, i get jittery from that stuff. the point is: a week of changing your habits is a fucking great start, but still not enough to really call it a habit. it would be time for you to check for other possible reasons why you feel so sleepy all the time, i never heard from someone that they cant sleep at night with his coffee in the morning. bad sleep habits? doom scrolling before bed? eating before bed? not going to bed at the same time? thyroid problems? psychological problems? physical problems? who really know you know
I only really stopped it to see if it was causing any issues sleeping, it was def out of my system by then, and sleep didn't change really
I SOMETIMES eat before bed, it must be something psychological
good start! im pretty sure you can rule that one out
I went to my doctor, he said it was probably depression/anxiety related. tried 2 different medications, nothing has changed yet
not to front your doctor, but just going to him for once and he probes depression and anxiety is very vague and pretty fucked to instantly preoscirbe you something. that stuff is something for a psychiatrist to diagnose. there are several objective factors a doctor can look for besides the psych eval that change in your body with depression
I've taken anti depressants before
but honestly, I don't feel that depressed anymore, just tired all day, unmovitated
just because you dont feel depressed, doesnt mean youre not depressed. try and look for a psychiatrist you can talk to, so you could rule that out too
I did before, he just asked how I was feeling, I was feeling the same, then my medication was increased or prescribed something else
sounds frustrating. theres no shame in switching therapists, not everyone is a good one sadly
To put this lightly. Don't use supplements or any stimulant drugs as a scapegoat for already lacking health. Do you exercise enough, go to the gym? Eat properly?, before then there is no reason you should bring yourself to a doctor as they can over speculate very easily. Also caffeine can be anxiety inducing
I started off going to the doctor because I was suicidal hurt myself in probably every way possible, my main doctor prescribed me medication, I also got a psychiatrist which increased the dosage a month or 2 after. Eventually I got off of it, then I guess going through a breakup and rejection put me back on medication, then I got off of it again and got a new doctor, I went there in the first place because I had trouble with low motivation and just being tired all the time, that’s when I tried a entirely different medication, got off that, and got on the one I started taking in the first place at the start
Kinda a long story
something in the package insert that your medication may cause tiredness? you could check that out with your doc and see if it really does if there are any alternatives
I’ve had issues when I was off the medication for a few months
I was completely off medication
For awhile
Then I went to the doctor and they prescribed me a different anti depressant
Lol
Then I felt like that one wasn’t working so I went back to what I was using
It’s just hard to tell how I feel on them or not, because it becomes the new “normal"
I also looked into ADHD and see that I fit a lot of the signs, I heard that it can also mimic depression symptoms like being unmotivated, tired
Don’t mean to keep typing this entire block lmao, but it’s also just really hard when I don’t even remember if I felt better on one medication, the other, or none.
Hey guys, I just started aim training couple days ago, and I notice that after 30 mins of training, my vision gets blurry. Is it because focusing on the moving targets long term is taxing on the eyes?
Yeah some scenarios can be pretty taxing on your vision if youre really focused etc. just make sure to have small vision breaks and look at something else for a bit, or get up grab some water etc to reset. if ur in a dark room maybe have some accent lighting if you dont already or crack a window just so the screen isnt so intense
Ok thank you for the advice, I will go look at far places if I start seeing blurs!
im trying to improve mousecontrol/tension control w cerebral palsy, been running controltrack tasks, should i up my sens and make it harder to train it faster? currently struggling to get over a silver score on benchmark.
Play around with your sens, run the scenario at 20, then 40, then 60cm and go from there. Go for variants of the same scenario too, it'll get you in the zone faster
i remember you asking and struggling with iron before that, nice progress mate
Thnx yeah im now at silver even tho 10 tasks are still at bronze and vertrack is still at iron. Now trying to improve static but i think i need more control, cannot flick and lose tenstion properly
remember that the benchmarks are still benchmarks. they can clearly show what stuff you lack on, so you can prioritize different stuff to train on. i still use the sheet, dont know the app. but the sheet is showing my average scores of all runs, so i can look properly at what i suck at and train accordingly if i have extra time to focus on it. it happened to me quite often that the weakest link of my benchmarks was holding my other scores back
Yeah I understand that but i spammed verttracking tasks and im just not getting improvement on that front, dont quite know what to do
spamming sounds like playing it mindlessly. take notes on what you struggle at with verttrack. is it your eyes tracking the target, your arm moving up and down the mousepad because the friction is different than left and right. just examples
hmmm, ok ok, i find that if i focus on the target i increase tension and flop, if i focus on tension im too slow by far, i might have to focus on my arm for now i dont rlly use it. thnx
Is it normal when you do the wrist stretching for there to be these like noises or cracks (more like a clack) as you move the wrists around? I'm more so worried about doing the stretching wrong I haven't had many wrist issues
yes thats normal
same thing as cracking your knuckles. It should be fine if theres no pain
Has anyone attempted to pair the neuroplastic properties of lions mane with aim training?
Did it before getting into aim training, but there's no objective correlation with training any domain and Lion's Mane speeding up the improvement process
Have you actually looked in to the science of it or are you just talking out your ass?
If you go on the lions mane subreddit, or the mycelium subreddit, there are plenty of anecdotal posts exclaiming it has treated their carpal tunnel, and or other nerve related diseases.
There is quite literally objective correlation with overviews conducted by the NHS. Although I may be making a big leap in terms of saying it may help you train better, but there is a scientific reason for this hypothesis.
i used a nootropic stack a while back, lions mane, alpha gpc, l tyrosine, alcar, bacopa monnieri, huperzine a and ginko extract. and noticed no perceivable difference in my gameplay. does that mean nothing happened, no. but there was no meaningful progress during that period of time i took all of that. i didnt feel any more focus or anything of that nature
one month. yeah, i didn’t take anything individually to really test if each one was beneficial on its own but from the reading i’ve done they’re all synergistic so that’s just my experience with all of them
the conclusion i came to, at least for me and my response to these supplements is that it’s not something worth pursuing unless you have a large amount of disposable income. The studies are promising but when it comes to real world application it can be hard because there a responders and non responders, variables in absorption and supplement quality and even down to different responses from ethnic backgrounds with effectiveness (for drugs more specifically i suppose)
different age brackets might benefit more or less also
ah yes, using reddit as scientific evidence. I'm gonna listen to you so very seriously
I've used Reishi and LM extensively for about 7 years now, in a scenario similar to yours when it comes to nerve damage and nerve sheathing
There are still no definitive proofs that LM directly improves learning of any kind, only that it effectively promotes neuroplasticity in mice
I have no dog in this fight but por favor: calm down, zen.
already been 2-3 hours since I've woken up, and I'm tired as fuck now. I was somewhat fine when I woke up
"Research on H. erinaceus and its neuroprotective properties has shown promising results and provides an excellent starting point for further studies to gain a more in-depth understanding of this species and prepare potential drugs/dietary supplements."
Yes, and you're conflating one result for the other
Needed it for other things than gaming lol
I needed it to heal back the damaged nerves I had in my spine, left shoulder and arm
Took years, but worked quite well in the end
No
You're trying to make a sophism and use one statement to validate another, I won't stand by it
You're spinning off into nonsense here.
I m' not refuting the validacy nor effects of LM.
I'm stating it hasn't been shown to help in any skill learning application, because research in that domain is nonexistent or too isolated
And that's sophism for you
I've watched this when it came out, and the conclusion is the exact same as I stated earlier. We need more research as to whether BDNF actually translates to skill learning speed
I just had to repeat what you were going in circles about
You're either very young or never went to university. You're jumping to conclusions here.
Even if the reasoning and what you're reading seems logical to you, this isn't enough to consider it true. You need more than 1 paper on the exact topic, more than 10 even. You need meta analysis and counter studies.
I've never said once that I haven't found value in this supplement. It's been a staple of mine for years, where dozens of others I haven't returned to.
Your comment on sugar is just plain wild riding now, it doesn't even make sense anymore.
I'll boil it down as simple as I can.
-
I've taken LM for years. It's doing it's thing, which is great. Helped my nerve pain and issues I had growing up and developing when playing guitar.
-
There haven't been enough studies on skill acquisition and LM. Plain and simple. This isn't refuting anything, it could come out as more and more evidence gets put together, but as it stands it's not something you can consider as plain true. We're not at caffeine or creatine levels of studies.
-
You're entitled to your opinion. This is fine. Don't go around and use it as an argument though.
"You're entitled to your opinion. This is fine. Don't go around and use it as an argument though." You still have a massive ego.
lol
I never once said it was 100% True. All I did was present evidence for my Hypothesis. Im taking this shroom either way for the nerve healing benefits in my peripheral limbs. All I wanted was to open a discussion on this 🤭
does anyone know which forearm muscles are used when stopping with no contact on mousepad and only arm? i want to train them, i think its limiting my stopping
i rather have an human who knows, since chatgpt sometimes pulls answers that it doesnt precisely know, and if its aiming related idk if it is too good at that
i want to train the forearm muscles responsible for stopping
i dont feel them enough to know which ones are the ones working
and i think if i trained the muscles my stopping technique could be pushed further
forearm is more or less 90° respective to my upper arm
how can you even put your arm like this xdddddd
i think i explained it badly
maybe
arm touches mousepad, but im not pressing down
and wrist is elevated
so wrist is not touching mousepad
arm is
mb bro
im not used to describing things in english
not really, i dont have bad stopping, i just want to push it further
i have got some master scores
on ts
but there is a lot of room for improvement and my arm is not explosive enought to flick faster
so i was thinking of training this
with physical workout
but i want to know precisely what muscles to target
its ok hahahah
i might just train forearm
the gym way
thats the only way i know
maybe i shouldnt get so nerdy about this and just get some weight on
idk bro
i will figure it out ig
yeah
long time without lifting
should get back to it
The forearm has a lot small muscles, extensors etc. i’m not particularly sure which one specifically would engage in this situation, i’d imagine it could even be a few. Your best bet is to train some compound exercises to hit a range of them and a few isolations to specifically target the forearms. pullups, barbell rows seem to hit them somewhat hard, even deadlifts but i don’t recommend deadlifting personally. something like reverse barbell curls, hammer curls and even dead hangs. Dead hangs can blast ur forearms
if you're in a floating wrist and low sens use, you'll mainly engage your shoulders and the supinators/pronators in your forearms, you could try using light dumbells and going for lateral movements of the wrist
Yesterday when i woke up and got on i felt like i was controlling an unkown body, my movement was off, my aim was really off, it felt like it was the first time i touched a mouse, they days before that i was doing really going and had solid control. And today i woke up hoping it would be gone but it still feels the same, everything just feels weird when i play even after warming up a bit.
Happens to all of us lol, try light exercise and go back in game, adjust your sens according to how you feel that day
I often go between 48cm and 60cm depending on my body
yeah pretty normal, cant always have consistent increases in performance. ive found for me personally if i feel like that for 2 or more days i just take a couple days to even a week off to reset because i know for me i tilt way easier in games and start to crumble mentally in my training
since i mainly play valorant instead id just play swiftplays or dm's for a while or just not play games entirely
Please get off your high horse and accept the fact that there arent enough specific studies yet that are able to show that there are clear benefits for motor learning even if things responsible for it show promising results if you are taking it. jumping to conclusions just because the theory is probably right and works in animals and in vitro tissue, theres still a living and complex human organisms left to properly test it in the long term. As long as this doesnt happen, alot of times, so that a meta analyisjs can be put out, and hopefully a proper written one with good studies - no one can tell you yes or no, just a maybe. Neither of you are wrong OR right, we just dont know it YET.
Bro and please be more nice and not so entitled even tho it looks you know alot about it, no reason to get arrogant 🙂
I just re read his answers, he didnt call your problems non sense or was passive aggressive at all mate. Quite literally you were the one who got pressed about his open minded and answers of „you cant really tell right now“. I dont even need to cite your pressed and emotional answers because you (again) wrote one in your answer to me in your last paragraph.
Take a deep breath please, people were discussing with you, you just got emotional because they didnt agree with you 😦
Yeah we sure are entering a good faith discussion with this one
#health message
🥱
bruh
i reckon we just move on from this debate despite the back and fourth. i don’t believe that there’s any meaningful conversation that follows what was covered without reiterating the same things from both sides
Yeah, let's move on
Are there any free apps I could use to track sleep somehow? Also, is Magnesium Glycinate something I should try if I feel like I have poor sleep quality?
free free is the apple health sleep tracking you can use if you have a smart watch, i didnt try any free version from the app storetho so i cant recommend based on apps i was using. im using autosleep for the past years now, was sth like 7 bucks i think. main selling point for me was the one time purchase and not some subscription
as for magnesium, check with your doctor if you have a deficiency. i see no reason for you to spend money if your levels are alright
the only issue is I don't have a smart watch, its possible we have one laying around I can ask
the only thing I've gotten was a blood test and had a vitamin D deficiency, nothing else was concerning, I heard that blood tests can only see like 1% of your magnesium and there are seperate tests for that
i dont see a reason to use a sleeping app then, the only thing your smartphone records are the noise levels and when youre going to sleep because you put it in sleeping mode
I mean I can't think of anything else at all, I have night mode, I take melatonin, I try to make my room as dark and quiet as possible, I try to wake up consistent. I have fatigue basically all day
I never wake up feeling rested, I wake up a few times a night
try to eat healthy in the mornin
still just tired
i mean we talked before your sleepiness may still be because of your depression/anxiety or meds
yea, I've been off of them for a few days, but I haven't really had any mood changes and I remember feeling the same thing off them for months and on them
I'm just trying to figure out if it might be anything else
melatonin just helps in specific sleeping disorders to reduce the time you fall asleep. it has nothing to do with sleeping through the night
the main reason I do is because I don't feel that tired at night compared to in the day
taking your meds on and off when prescribed to take them every day is not the wisest choice, many anti depressants take months to have the right dosage to really work in your body
yea, I've taken meds for months at one point, taken meds off for months, and I still went in the doctor for sleep problems, so i was prescribed again because he thinks its a mental thing like depression or anxiety
unless I have other conditions like insomnia, restless leg syndrome, or sleep apnea which he doubts I have sleep apnea
sleep apnea for instance is something a smart watch can track a little bit IF it can measure blood oxygen levels
he doubts it since I don't remember anyone mentioning things about my snoring, and that they usually also have fatter necks
I can try tho
the main reasons for that are mostly a non existen sleep rythm or alot of stress or both
I feel like antidepressants haven't been working lately, light I have a worse mood and less motivation
unless its just a coincidence
good to know. the best bet is always a sleeping lab tbh, even a smart watch is more expensive than that if the lab is prescribed
I feel like that would be the worst case scenario yea, but honestly I feel like I have more of a problem with sleep than anything else, other than maybe some social anxiety, I don't really feel that sad, just more of a low motivation and being tired all the time type thing, which could still be depression, but I've tried multiple different medications at multiple different dosages for months
so I might ask for one
anti depressants are not a happy pill, they help to regulate your emotions. if you feel like shit you still feel like shit
it would probably have to be a in person lab which might be a little weird
I think there are at home ones but they aren't as accurate
its not as weird as you think 😄
I go to the doctor again tmr so
I wanted to discuss ADHD, and if any other deficiency's might be causing tiredness
I just don't feel like the anti depressant route isn't working
I've been at it for years
tbh depression is something just a small percentile "cure" themselves off. the vast majority learn through medication and therapy to live with it
therapy just seemed to make things worse, I didn't enjoy talking about my problems because everything that was suggested to me was either just common sense, or stuff that didn't work for me
expensive, took time out of my day, and didn't feel like it changed anything
only thing I liked was just talking to him in general, I liked the dude, reminds me of my dad
had a therapist and psychiatrist for a few months but nothing seemed to change, I felt like I was at a worse state back then than I am now
working through all the shit that piled up is never something fun
Yea and I don’t know if I’ve gotten anywhere or if it’s all a fuckin coincidence
Like if I actually feel better on it or off or what
Cuz it all becomes the new "normal” and I forget
Like I recently got off of Zoloft because I felt like it was ruining my sleep more and causing me to wake up constantly throughout the night, and then when I got off of it I had the same thing, so now I can’t even tell
Like maybe that was the right medication to me and I swapped off of it because of a coincidence and now I’ll never know
patience goes a long way. start with trying to set up a sleep schedule you stick to. stuff like that wont change after a few weeks
Hi, i'm a little worried, i don't know if someone can help me with this one
I have a little bit of pain in my arm right now
three of my finger feel contracted
In red are the zones that feel contracted
And a have like this sort of brown mark that feel contracted and hurt a little if i touch it
It's hard to open and close those three finger, i'm just worried and didn't have time to go to a medic yet
I did some stretches and massages, tnx u so much for the read
Guys, it would be better to have my wrist at its normal position instead of forcing it to be perfectly flat right? Because for me it normally leans to the right a bit. I can play with both, It's just that I kinda forced myself to copy other grips back then and ended up changing a lot of things about my grip
Had the same issue here, i’m not saying any of this is applicable to you and i have skim read a little, but Look into MTHFR Gene mutation, try and get tested for that if you’ve done everything else you can. Both my parents have it which passed it to me and the worst type, which can lead to chronic fatigue and bad sleep along with a multitude of other things. Maybe ask for a sleep study to see if you have sleep apnea etc.
If you take nicotine, don’t take it 2-3 hours before bed.
I also had Chronic sinusitis, but that would be an obvious thing. Since i’ve had surgery for that, and 80% sorted out my supplementation for the gene mutation, i’ve slept a lot better since
I go to the doctor tomorrow, I'll def ask for a sleep study, mention any other tests for deficiency's or MTHFR Gene mutation, and I wanna talk abt ADHD as well.
yup adhd would be a good ask, impacts a lot of peoples sleep. But usually just falling to sleep is harder. Hopefully you and your doctor can figure it out, took me a long time to sort it out
but you seem to be doing most things right in terms of sleep hygiene from what i read
I seem to have a lot of symptoms of ADHD, only thing is sometimes I move a lot and others I can somewhat sit still
I’ve been trying my best yea, literally trying to have the perfect sleep
And I probably ate the healthiest today in awhile, and yet I still took a long nap which I haven’t in awhile
Weird how being more healthy and feeling like getting better sleep and yet I’m more tired? Makes no sense
ice pack and massage ur elbow see if that helps, works for me
Tnx u so much, i will try
advil, ice, massage gun, rest thats whatchu need
Thanks man, i was getting worried
Any advice for maintaining posture? I’ve done some neck exercises / shoulder. The problem i have is that as soon as i focus on tracking a target in game i just move my head forwards and maintain terrible posture
To add some extra info, ive looked into ergonomics quite alot and my setup should be good
From what i’ve read it’s not necessarily the posture itself that can be damaging but sitting in any one posture too long can be. If you’re doing exercises to prevent stiffness/underdevelopment in the neck and back things like that supplemented with frequent breaks between sitting, every 20-30 minutes or so getting up and having a stretch for example, can be far more beneficial then optimising for one particular posture
as long as you’re comfortable and like you mentioned ergonomically sound
i already do stretches pretty often, but maybe i should set a timer or something to make sure im not waiting too long
it might be that i wait until its too late and then i do it
because i didnt feel the need for it until then
yeah, just being conscious of staying moving a reasonable amount. even in a perfect seating posture as humans we’re not supposed to be seated on a chair all day, so it’s mostly about being active as much as you can remind yourself to be
sometimes it can be hard if a game or something can last an hour or so, but the main issue is when inactive people that have no sort of preventative measures in place sit the same way for hours on end
Yea ill give it a try tomorrow because i definitely dont have a real excuse for being focused for so long
I mostly just play dm like combat and aim trainers so i can quit whenever
just be conscious of it and with time it'll be automatic
+1
i had pretty bad neck problem it got fixed after i bought a montior stand and instead of moving my self i move monitor closer to me
i did that the other day and i think it helped a little
i set a timer today and took a break every 20 min and that has prevented neck pain so far
i guess thats a good enough start
Good stuff 🙏
How to stop hand sweating? I have already cut my soda and coffee usage
anyone have good videos for wrist and hand exercises? my hand grinds against something when I move it up and down
now im getting pain again too so i prob need some strengthening or something
gold -> plat is proving to be quite difficult
this is where the pain is /grinding
what yall think about movable wrist rests
i have found the carpio 2.0
alot of it can be genetic. i have super sweaty hands and the oil makeup of the skin on my hands make it very hard for me to grip mice for long periods of time, disregarding how good the mouse’s coating is.
certainly better than standard static mousepad wrist rests that actually harm your wrist more than help. from a health standpoint i think they’re good if you already have issues, but if it’s prevention my preference would be more stretching/exercise based
i’m not sure what the base is made out of so it could potentially damage the mouse pad if it’s more of a scratching feeling? cant be too sure.
most carpal tunnel prevention comes from a good ergonomic seating position, frequent breaks and stretching/exercise. but if due to chair/desk setup good ergonomics can’t be attained i’d say something like that would be useful
Okay thanks so I don't need it yet
Base is made of PTFE gliders Like on almost any mouse
no
this is the "locked out" cheat sheet, do better. 😂
oh nice, no harm in trying it down the track then since it won’t destroy any pads, if you feel like you need it
what?
in my experience if you always lean in to give yourself a narrower fov (make target bigger relative to you) when focusing the easiest fix is to just move the monitor closer to give yourself that closer fov by default
some people say this might be bad for your eyes but i’ve never had any problems with my eyes whereas i definitely have had moments where my shoulder or neck were sore from posture
also your eyes are never going to “hurt” doing this, so if you were really concerned you could also train your eyes by focusing on far objects, etc. to curtail the development of myopia (again never been a problem for me anyways)
If it feels like a grinding sensation, it most likely is some form of overpronation. It means your hand is reaching too high up, and for too long of a time period. Your desk could be too low relative to your sitting position, or your grip/mouse straining your wrist too hard
what?
mesh chairs are a game changer tbh, gaming chairs DXRacer style are horrible for me sweat wise
they can be really helpful, you'll need to adjust your setup tho. It raises your wrist from the pad a fair bit, which can on its own bring other problems if you don't adjust your sitting height/desk height.
If you use it well tho, it's great for comfort
hmmmm
i think its legit like
grip/mouse strain
yea this is what it is, and some mice will help you alleviate that
the distance from the pad to the knuckle is a factor not taken into account when it comes to ergo mice
yea im thinking i need a new mouse
this is how I grip my gpx2 atm
or used to, im gonna try basically a palm grip
yeah, that's not great
Does anyone use ear plugs when they sleep?
Can be helpful if you live in a loud area or household where people wake up early. Personally i do the opposite with a decently loud fan, or some sort of white noise. it’s enough to mask a lot of noises but for me i like to be able to hear incase of an emergency or if i have alarms
I have a ac and 2 fans lmfao
I was just wondering, I feel like I wouldn’t wake up to alarms
you most likely still would, if your alarms times are consistent wearing plugs wont change anything
i'd recommend wax plugs if you're gonna wear them to sleep, they are far better at staying in the ear throughout the night and dont hurt even after long hours
Hello! I have quite bad vrt even when sleeping 8 hrs+, going to the gym consistently and having a good diet. I get like 200ms, and my monitor is 390hz. Can anyone give me some advice on how to improve this? I do snore/have sleep apnea, could that affect my sleep quality and further negatively affect my vrt? Or do I just have shit genetics haha..
yes your sleep can affect that, but not really someone could suggest if youre not properly tracking your sleep. your mouse could have a high click latency too, for example. you could play reflex or reactive scenarios to improve on that skill wise. or for the lazy, just spam the reaction time in humanbenchmark
Building reaction time takes very long time to do. Most often significant rt improvements come through puberty if you’re active within a sport or so. After puberty it starts to degrade. You can maximise your potential with good sleep, exercise and diet though the difference may not be that high if you’re after your puberty stage
Only reason I can see why I have 140 avg rt is
A) elite swim training throughout my life from the age of 5/good habits throughout my entire life
B) genetics
The real answer is that reactionary improvement is extremely achieve to do as you’re literally changing the speed which your brain picks up stimuli. Simply put, you don’t need to focus on reactionary practice as improvement will come as you progress. Most good aimers would tell you to not focus on your rt

How important is it to have a perfect diet? Sometimes I’ll eat healthy for breakfast or lunch, some days it’s just whatever I can find, healthy or not. Dinner is usually somewhat healthy because my parents always prepare stuff for it
Sleep apnea can definitely effect your sleep
Waking up multiple times, less deep sleep ect
is my elbow hurting at 20ish minutes of aim training normal? or is there something wrong with my posture and ergonomics
interesting, I was thinking the same. Sport during puberty is the thing that got me good reaction time imo. I'm 34 now and just averaged 140-145ms on humanbenchmark today
I don't practice it, I just like to test it like every month and was surprised by the result today. Was doing a lot of roller / skate when I was younger. It improved a lot by playing fighting games tho
Pretty much the same for me. I barely touch my pc these days and still keep up the same reaction scores as compared to when I was in my prime
Same thing goes for my activity level. It’s just ultimately how your brain is wired and how efficient it is at picking up nerve stimuli
is there a higher risk to get a wrist injury for using hand only on high sensitivities or injuries on shoulder and arm for using lower sensitivity
Id say its pretty much one of the top most important things for life in general, how you feel and perform. I follow the 80/20 rule i suppose. As im trying to gain weight it can be hard to eat 4000cals a day and be all good food. as long as majority of the diet is good, 20% being non ideal wont effect you much
I have to have my head sideways like a dog or move my jaw/scrunch my face or just do weird things so i can focus and if i dont do them i feel weird as fuck n uncomfortable like the urge to do that is always there and i cant focus. Is this normal? im kinda worried about it i hate it ngl
i think turning head sideways could be a little weird in terms of aim consistency but alot of people do weird things when they focus. A friend of mine would always have his tongue out when playing sports etc
ohh alright ty i do that tongue thing too in clutches
hmm okay
I just don't know where to start usually
like for breakfast every day I used to have cereal, now I try eggs, bananas, toast, stuff like that
dont
You'd be more stable with whole arm engagement, and yeah you're focusing all the stress to one joint, but tbh at very high sens the moves are so minute it b wouldn't hurt until 5h+ so I don't think you're putting yourself in excess risk
hello, ive been noticing a little bit of disconfort from my ring finger on my right hand after aim training for maybe 2 hours, but when playing game i have no problems, it goes away maybe after 10 minutes, is it somthing i should start worrying about?
I wouldn't worry if I were you, are you tensing your ring finger while you are aim training?
I need help , the point marked i feel kinda irritated , inflamed and kinda numb .
Very little here too
yeah it happens when i start tensing my hand grip more, good to know is not something bad
Yeah just relax your grip while aiming and it should go away, you can speed it up by icing it and using ibuprofen or Tylenol
will do, thank you
I have pain here but its because my mouse is a poor fit for my hand and mouse grip style, so extensive training really flairs it here. Could be setup related.
I just came off being borderline bedridden for a week, my aim is like way shakier than it used to be to the point that it feels almost involuntary, is it really just a "practice more" thing or am I going to be cooked in the short term?
probably still recovering and takes a bit to get back up to speed after taking a week off
i had a week and a half of not using a computer and looking at the screen after felt foreign to me. give it some time
same , already ordered the mouse which is a good fit for me.
Does exercise help you warm up when you get into a game, I would assume as much from the increased heart rate making you more focused and more responsive on that
Yes I like to exercise early in the morning before I start studying
Idk the benefits it will have for video games but
Everyone’s diff it might for some and might not for others
Going for a game right after the workout's not great, but yeah if you train at 8AM and go play at 10am you'll feel great during gaming
stop tensing like your gripping your anaconda
i dont mean a workout i mean just exercise, this means anything to get the heart pumping, a short run for like 5 minutes is exercise, i dont understand what you mean though a workout will make you sweaty and tired
do you mean your forearm?
Yes, most definitely worth it
So i try to stretch my wrist before playing how often should i be stretching while playing? Like every couple hours or so ?
2-3mins of stretches after a game helps, you could do aonger stretch session at the end of the entire session for your shoulders, neck and back
i fingertip grip the mouse. i have a major cramp up when i try move horizontally.
it comes from my knuckles mostly and it feel restricted and my range of motion becomes extremely limited.
my question is a bit weird
i use this area of my fingertips to aim
should i be using a more central area of the fingertip?
like the area with the blue dots on this next picture
its abit further down so im guessing it will lessen the strain but im unsure as im not a professional
Its more of a practice thing, you will get stronger over time. a little bit further down like you marked wont lessen the strain, still the same muscles working, you would have to put the markings further down to lessen the strain if you are even able to control yourself not to tense the upper bones of your finger. doubt its a comfortable grip tho
ill try use it for another few months then
its not really discomfortable unless i move horizontally. the further i move side to side the more discomfort i am in
Consistent discomfort is not really something to go for. just switch between different styles when this happens and build up endurance over time. just like your posture, changing it frequently is best
Show i pic
A
I really struggle with being stable on ftip too
Especially cuz i play on a low sens
65ish cm
Being less stable with fingertip grip than with claw or palm is completely normal, you have a lot of more joints to actively control. the strength to control it will come over time dont worry
im even thinking of buying a gripper or smt
to develop that extra control
i simply aim so much better on ftip compared to anything else
my fingers just feel more natural to micro/do short to medium range flicks on
compared to wrist
but due to the lack of control its easy to suddenly lose your aim for some reason
much higher ceiling but lower floor for me
compared to claw
You mean griptape or those silicone bumpy things? good idea to use something like that if your finger slips often. other than that, the rest is just pure practice
No
Like grip trainer
lol
Train finger strength
It just sums it up
A hella great exercise for grip strength is going for a pull-up on like your wardrobe, or any other flat surface. It'll engage your fingers so much more, holding that for smth like 30s or 1m is good to begin with
good idea, plenty of exercises on youtube
how close am i to injuring something? my index finger has always been able to like "roll" over something when i extend it out and curl in
its not a pain or anything but it legit feels like theres a block of something in there'
so this is a simplified version of my set up, its pretty unique and took me a while to build so I'm proud of it. But recently I've started getting some pretty serious neck pain. Does anyone have recommendations to fix this. (Please don't troll and tell me to completely redo my setup)
is this a joke
😭😭
Nothing serious and to be concerned about as long as your index finger doesnt get stuck in a position and you need quite some force to get over that block. but thats usually the other way around
So is it a standing desk ?
Yeah adjustable
If there's a restriction in the range of motion, it's worth working on and or seeing a pro about it. If it's not painful, work on recovering the ROM yourself. If it is, don't do anything stupid and see a doc
I'm curious about the air mattress thing
Yeah so basically, it’s more comfortable to be laying down while aiming for me
But I just don’t know how to fix my neck issue
Mfw
You lay down, then push your head forward to see the screen
Is that right ?
Or is the drawing showing you lay on your belly and raise your head towards the screen.?
Yeah like off the mattress mostly basically
My chin like at the edge of my mattress so it’s not really very comfortable, but it would be if I had some way to support my head
Laying on my belly
You're off the deep end my guy
Put him in a padded cell lol
Jokes aside, having some form of decline would be the most effective solution to your problem
I feel like this doesn't really solve it, it will be a compromise between having to stand up and neck support. like the more neck support I want, the more decline I have to get, which means I have to spend energy to not fall off my mattress. also it would increase the distance from me to my desk so I don't think its the solution
You're so weird dude
you lowk just got to think through your solutions man
Crazy
You come up with the weirdest setup known to pc gaming history
And say shit like this
You're too high level for me man, gg's I'll take my leave
its hard to tell if this is ragebait
this setup
i would love to see an image of this setup. no way youre laying on your belly gaming
it’s not really a restriction in range of motion it’s just a weird sensation
I feel like I’m starting to feel it more which is why im worried
if pain starts im changing my grip
since my thumb started hurting so I changed my grip and it went away
im constantly lightheaded
does anyone know a common reason why id be this way? i drink water and eat about 2000cal a day
im so lightheaded i cant focus
deaduzz
how are you vitamins wise ? are you eating enough salt ? how's your sleep atm ?
this is a question for your doctor, please seek help
ill get an appointment
