Singularity, Skull Merchant, Hag, Trapper, and to an extent Knight are the area control killers.
Singularity is by far the most powerful of them. He can deploy cameras around the map he can view, and infect survivors with a big blob as he views them. He can immedietly teleport onto an infected survivor infected either at range manually or from a camera, where he then gains a speed boost and immunity to a single pallet stun for a period of time.
Second strongest of these is Knight, who has the ability to deploy one of three different guards/soldiers who will traverse a patrol path he sets for them and chase survivors they detect. You can use this to control areas as well as pincer attacking survivors alongside a guard. Each guard has different strengths and serves a different purpose.
The other three are very underpowered but are still fun.
Skull Merchant, to try and keep it brief, can deploy drones around the map which let her track survivors and zone them durring chase.
Hag can place traps on the ground which when set off in an AoE spawn a clone of her, play a loud mapwide sound effect, have a fake terror radius, and play chase music as if you are chasing them. In addition, you can teleport to to triggered trapa and immedietly attack out of the teleport.
Trapper is Trapper. He places beartraps.
